New Management, new menu, hygienic & freshly refurbished. The old manky carpet pulled up and replaced with lovely wooden flooring. The bar is brass and shiny never knew it was brass! Tastefully painted and new furniture. Lee the chef knows his ingredients and knows how to cook & present it. Love this pub, the staff and both Lee & Helen the new management. Hope they keep their idea of having no football showing and no children in pub area. This village needed a nice pub where nice folk can go to for a top meal and drink. Joe it stays this way.

What a super village pub. Lovely location on the village green. Garden to the rear. Separate restaurant. Spotlessly clean, good ambience. I had the giant gammon steak with chips, pineapple, fried egg, large flat mushroom, onion ring, grilled tomato and salad, at £15.95 - it was giant, but also very high quality and cooked nicely. Wife had a pannini with cod goujons and salad, at £9.95 she enjoyed it. The three staff on duty were friendly and helpful. Five real ale pumps were in use. If only all village pubs could be as good as this.

Seeing as my review was removed I will try again! Stay away. I went to the so called “quiz night” and it was awful. You would have found a better atmosphere in a morgue. Hardly any there, no music, vile smell and it was dirty. I use to frequent the pub before lockdown and it was fantastic. It has apparently changed hands since and not for the better. I will definitely not be going back. The smell and filth were enough to put me off my beer let alone dreary feel to the place. Very sad to say that I will not be recommending a once lovely pub

Staff were friendly enough, service was prompt, however I got a paltry amount of chips to compliment my "chicken" burger....no salad or owt. The meat was actually beef, which wouldn't have been an issue in itself, but the accompanying roll and 'toppings' were for a chicken burger, so I had mayo & lettuce on my beefburger. Not great, not even sure how that went so wrong and wasn't picked up by anyone. Photo shows the combination received, and the largely empty plate, can only imagine the focus was on the brioche branding.
