The best restaurants in England

Having been this restaurant many times, it never fails to please in terms of both quality and service. We always have top quality fish and chips and very friendly and obliging staff.

Not too bad but average at best. 2/5.

Brilliant Thai food! Super value to…we will be back.

excellent hotel for 4 nights. From arrival to departure every aspect was 100% perfect. Valet parking and luggage handled well, a great breakfast and every member of staff we encountered presented a polite, professional and friendly demeanour. This hotel prices itself up with the best in London - and it delivers. Hopefully we will be back in July 2025- if the price is right! Date of stay: December 2024

Lucky enough to eating here in storm so with the  gentle rocking motion you could imagine the train carriage was departing for Paris. The décor is kitschy, some may say it too much but I found it interesting and sort fits with dining on a train. The sea food speaks for itself, I hope you will enjoy it.

Gutted! We came here for our 13th anniversary and expected more for £45 per head. The service was okay, a bit slow considering it wasn't busy, around 5 tables. Food took about 45 minutes from order to table. The atmosphere was meh, with gravy splashed on the wall from a previous diner, and it was a bit plain Jane overall. The waitresses were pleasant. The meat was good, Duck and Steak were nice. The duck was very good, nice, and pink; despite ordering medium-rare, the steak was closer to medium and lacked the juiciness and bloodiness expected from a properly cooked medium-rare cut. The veg was over seasoned and inedible (too much salt), chips were too salty (way more salt than Mcdonalds and fast food restaurants), and the fondant potato (1 small one) was a bit hard in the middle. We heard good things about it, so we thought we would try it. We told the staff on three occasions that it was over seasoned and too salty, but they didn't offer any new vegetables, etc., which is fine as I know people like to make a fuss to get a discount and free food but we left about half. We thought paying more for a meal would result in a better meal, but unfortunately, not. We would rather pay half the price and get a similar meal from the pub down the road. Gutted more for the restaurant than anything else. I have worked in several places where the chefs over season food and blame it on the customers, which they probably will in this case, unfortunately. If food is cooked properly there shouldn't be much need for salt, only a small amount to bring out the flavour. Unfortunately, we won't be back and can't recommend it because of the prices and salty food. We are more on the fussy side of things, as we cook a lot at home and know good food when we eat out, so that is a factor to consider. For the average person, it is probably okay, but the prices are on the higher side for what you receive.

Always very busy but always very good! Expressive food and coffee but expect a wait when it is packed

Superb lunch, child and dog friendly, the kids all had and loved the mussels. Food and staff were both fantastic

Great place. Pizza was excellent. So fresh tasting and delicious. The staff were also amazing. When it came to lay the bill by credit card, I asked for them to increase the amount I would pay. This was to allow for a tip. The person taking the payment then pointed out that there was already a service charge on the bill. Usually, I would not be happy about the service charge but as the person pointed it out, it made all the difference. They didn’t have to say anything and could have taken the larger amount from me but didn’t.

Beer was delicious but the crisps and vegetable crisps too expensive

Party of seven went for Xmas lunch this week - was fabulous! The food was fantastic; had the pork belly for starter, beef for main, and ganache for dessert - no exaggeration to say I thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. A real treat. Everyone else spoke highly of their experience too. Final word to the service; the young lad who served throughout was attentive, warm and professional. And our French host was lovely too. Look forward to going again.

Myself and my 9 friends spent an evening here for my birthday celebration while visiting London The food was delicious the staff were amazing and the atmosphere great for a celebration Look forward to returning one day when we down south again A bit too far to travel from Newcastle upon tyne ha ha A brilliant place to wine and dine Only one wee personal suggestion practice making those margaritas as when I return I’m sure they will be spot on!!! 🥰😆

Very disappointed with meal, expected so much more .Restaurant was cold ,table i had booked was taken ! We had 3 different meals all were not of the standard we were expecting .My guest even said needed an icecream to take the taste away ! So very disappointed guests with us for the weekend the only bad part was this meal!

Well we were booked for a surprise 60th Birthday meal on 22nd December 2023. Spoke directly with the restaurant to book & he phoned back to clarify . Just under before someone said they were shutting for Christmas & New Year - their last night was Monday 18th. I rang them constantly that evening with no answer, & I’ve rang them since. I have emailed them with out reply. I have never in my life had such poor customer service
