Chakkra in Kirklees

Fantastic place and our second visit. The option to order from an excellent traditional Italians menu or an even better South Indian menu is fantastic. Our kids wanted pizzas which were superb and crispy with plenty of toppings. My wife I had went for the highly recommended biryanis which were so aromatic, with streamed rice nuts and slow cooked lamb… amazing! The owner makes sure guests are looked after and is happy to make food recommendations (I will try the fish curry next time), whilst the waitresses were very good and professional. All in all highly recommended and deserves a visit!

We had an amazing New Year dinner at Chakkra, and we were truly impressed with both the food and the service. It's a fantastic place to savor authentic Indian cuisine, especially South Indian dishes. The curries, porotta , biriyani and dosas were absolutely delightful, leaving us thoroughly impressed. Despite being a peak time on New Year's night, the service was exceptional. The staff managed to attend to each table efficiently, ensuring that the food was served promptly. We highly recommend Chakkra to all food lovers; it's definitely a place worth revisiting.

Excellent food at Chakra&Aldos. We enjoyed the mixed cuisine as some of the party had itallian and the others the South Indian food. Service was excellent especially Suraj. Very friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend.

We live just up the road and were looking for something a bit different on a snowy Saturday night so decided to give Chakkra a go. The online link told us they had our money but didn't confirm the order had been accepted. A call to the restaurant confirmed our order had been received and the food would be with us within the hour (this was 7pm - peak time). The bundle arrived about 45 minutes later. We were new to South Indian food and were a little cautious when it came to ordering. We went for crab cakes and Chakkra special pork for starters, chicken tikka masala and lamb uluvakoot for mains, coconut rice, chappatis and a garlic naan. The well-wrapped bundle came with salad and three intriguingly coloured sauces. It was all fresh, good quality and delicious. And there was plenty left for another meal. It seems South Indian food is more delicate and more subtle than your run-of-the-mill Pakistani/Indian dishes. And the meat content was unusually generous. We look forward to trying out the restaurant next time. We would highly recommend Chakkra.

I ate here with friends and came for a pizza and left having eaten the most beautiful southern Indian food. Great to see the Indian is back, absolutely the best authentic Indian food in the north of England No oilly, fatty meat just Indian food cooked to perfection. Fish is also a speciality with happy helpful service. You will not be disappointed.
