Haven’t been here for probably 7 years as we moved into Bristol! I wished we’d stayed so we could come here more often. Excellent food and great value too! Staff were super friendly and a good laugh! A must for locals, passerby’s and cyclists! Will be back soon!

Great place for a casual lunch with good food, prices and service. Booked a table in advance, high chair available for the little one. Good variety of dishes available whether you want a main dish or sandwiches etc. Tasty well cooked food. Interesting African items decorating the cafe. Only 5 minutes from Bristol airport so turned out to be a good place to meet others flying in.

Although this is the closest takeaway to me I would rather drive further if it wasn’t good. I have always found the food well prepared and the cooks are so friendly. We’re about to move and we will miss it. Do support your local cafe and takeaway.

Been three times on Sundays and really satisfied with the quality of the food. Certainly returning again. Pleasant owner who fusses a little....he deserves to succeed if only for his enthusiasm. Had the Eton Mess once ...fattening but lovely. Good choice of meats. The cauliflower cheese was a little bland. It needed more and stronger cheese. But that is nit-picking...

Passing and called in for some refreshments. The cooked food looked OK and there were cakes to try. Coffees were good but the tables and benches outside need some attention - tables were old and rickety and the benches were unclean. The food was reasonably priced but with a little more attention to detail they could improve.

Caught with a few hours on my hand early one morning so needed to pass the time of day. The cafe opened on time and had plenty of space for me to spread out. I liked the African feel of some of the decor. Even though it is on a trading estate they had made an effort. Plenty of tables including some outside and everything was clean and functional. The lady who was working in the kitchen really knew her stuff. I saw a very full English breakfast being served, which if I wasn’t watching what I eat, would have sampled. I compromised and took away a bacon and Brie baguette which was fresh and warm. It was supposed to last until lunchtime but definitely didn’t. Food was reasonably priced. If I happen to be waiting for a flight from Bristol airport I shall definitely go again or take an early traveller for breakfast.

While out for a Sunday drive we were looking for somewhere for a snack lunch and we came across this cafe. I asked if they could do us snacks or sandwiches but they said they couldn't as they only do a carvery on a Sunday. They did, however, offer do us hot meat baguettes using meats from the carvery. These came with a decorated salad and were delicious and very reasonable. We will certainly call here again,

Extremely rude manager! No idea how to make a flat white coffee. Wanted to give me a black coffee with ordinary milk. Charged me £2 which was not offered as a refund when I tried to explain what a flat white was. Will not be going there again. Certainly don't recommend! Maybe he could get lessons in coffee making as well as customer service.

Fairly hideous situation on an industrial estate, but the staff couldn't be more friendly. The food is unpretentious, typical transport café style, but offers excellent value for money. Really convenient eatery on the way to the airport (where the food is unspeakable) and therefore highly reommended

Having driven past here a number of times and being aware of its previous incarnation in Bristol, we thought we would try Zulu café for a Breakfast one day before going over to Chew Valley Farm Park. Overall I must say that I was very disappointed. There is plenty of parking, but when you walk in there is about four tables that you can eat on, one of these was reserved, two were occupied, so we sat on the last one. The lady behind the counter was very nice, but the food was average. One thing I couldn’t understand was why the menu talks about grilled tomatoes, but my breakfast came with a sea of tomato juice from the tinned tomatoes plonked on my plate that intermingled with the sea of baked bean juice. If really hate tinned tomatoes and would have asked for no tomatoes if I had known. I was expecting grilled!

Staying locally but couldn't find anywhere to eat when I arrived on Sunday evening. Situated off main road towards Chew Magna, saw sign at side by a small industrial site. Takeaway just on the corner and restaurant that looked lovely. Had a takeaway and would have returned but closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Very friendly and helpful service, reasonably priced.

Imaginative surroundings and sensible prices..... having just been to a B and B that did a "continental breakfast" (in our room: one small pre-packed croissant etc.... which we were not expecting - my fault as I didn't read the small print) so Zulu's was just what my husband needed! All types of "exotic" burgers for sale if you felt like taking a bit of Africa away with you!

I work around the corner from the Cafe and I visit on a regular bases. Their Bacon and Brie baguette is my favorite. The service is warm and welcoming with the customer at heart. They have a range of food options and are always willing to alter the menu to your specifications. The decor is very consistent with a jungle theme encouraged more by the solid wood tables and chairs and large exotic looking fish in a tank. If feeling up for it, they also sell exotic style meets such as Water Buffalo burgers and ostrich steaks which are delicious! Defiantly worth a try and reasonably priced!

This place is famous for its views across the Solent, but only in the summer. In the winter the windows are always steamed up giving you near to no visibility outside. We didn’t eat but the menu looks good and average prices for the area. Drinks were more expensive than the Seaview Hotel just around the corner. +£1 per drink on gin & tonic. It was November on a Friday evening and all tables were reserved. We did sit at one of their best tables for our drink ‘Captain Ted’s Table’ and it was wobbly as hell. Felt like it was going to give way at any time. Come on this is an easy fix.

Nice busy cafe, lots going on with a lot of choice to make your own baguette. Popular with the locals for lunch who fancy an upgrade from a morrisons meal deal.

We have been here many times over the years and looked forward to our visit again this year. What a disappointment. We had a cream tea which consisted of a pot of tea, 2 scones, butter, cream and jam. The jam and cream pots were half the size they used to be and the butter was barely there, adequate enough for one scone but certainly not two. The jug of milk supplied did not have enough milk for one cup of tea and we had to ask for extra. I do not drink tea and asked for my tea to be substituted with coffee, big mistake, it was undrinkable. Went we went to pay we were told 'cash only' and I was lucky to find some cash in the bottom of my bag. This should be made clear when you enter and before you order as a lot of people do not carry cash. Our experience was so different to every other visit we wondered if there were 'new owners' but overheard the owner telling other visitors that she had been there 17 years. Sadly will not be returning.

Remember coming to this pub with my family when I was ten so had to come back 40 odd years later. Disappointed the coffin by the door was gone 😂 but it was a real highlight of our trip. Our dogs were welcomed and fussed over and the food at lunch was amazing, so tasty. Really friendly staff and all the facilities were spotless. Fantastic views over the garden too. A lovely trip down memory lane
