Have had a number of takeaways from here over the years but the last ones we have had have not been very good, the standard has declined, some meals lost flavour and greasy. Think we’ll try some where else next time.

Very expensive. 4 poppadoms. 2 mains. 1 rice 1 chips. 3 pints and 2 cokes. 64 quid.

The food at this restaurant is amazing! Both my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The restaurant is decorated really tastefully and everything is very clean. The service was friendly and not rushed. We felt well-looked after and appreciated. This was our first time here and we'll definitely be back.

Ordered a takeaway from here and I should have saved myself £30 and had toast at home. Disgusting food. Threw the whole lot away and had upset stomach with the three mouthfuls I did eat. It isn’t cheap food and in the door in massive letter it states CASH ONLY!! Any company who only accept cash only it’s up to no good. Will never eat here ever again

Two great meals here in the last three weeks. New to the area, so hadn't been before, but brought friends and had great meals. Biggest prawns ever!

Lovely food and excellent service

Polite and friendly staff. Very efficient table service. Food was authentic and delicious. We all enjoyed our visit and would recommend visiting. Although the atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming, it would've been nice to have some background music. At times it felt like being in a cafeteria, hearing other conversations and everyone competing, getting louder and louder. The restaurant was clean, tidy with lovely decor. The only disappointment was, there wasn't much options on the menu for children.

Fantastic meal, couldn't fault the meal or the service. We ordered a takeaway, we arrived a little early and our meal wasn't quite ready (our fault) we received a complimentary drink each. I mentioned a particular meal I had at another restaurant, they even went and tried to recreate the meal especially for us again complimentary. So wonderful to find a business who goes above and beyond our expectations. Would highly recommend. It will be our go to Indian. The decor in the restaurant is very modern, the waiting area is spacious and well decorated. First class service, first class food and really nice people Update Last 3 takeaways have taken well over an hour which ordinarily would be fine, but if you get to the place after 60 minutes as advised, and it takes a further 20-45 minutes it's frustrating. The food is still good, but has been cold the last 3 times as if it's been waiting around. Last time we have a takeaway from zolsha, until they get a new clock, a real shame

Appalling takeaway meal and service received from Zolsha’s - Howden when we visited. Items missing from order after we collected, rude manager when we asked them to deliver said missing items, the food was tasteless and bland. Not what we expected for the price, which was extortionate in comparison to other great Indian restaurants all within ten minutes travel from them. Would not recommend and won’t use again.

Shockingly awful takeaway meal received from this business. Order was received with missing food items, the manager told me we could make the 25 minute drive back and he would provide us with them but that’s not acceptable while the rest of our food sits going cold. Every dish was bland and tasteless. Portions tiny for the price charged (extremely overpriced). First visit prior to booking a table in the restaurant and won’t be returning. Use an alternative is my advice.

Outstanding food and presentation, the staff were professional and very helpful.

I tried something new this time (can't recall the name) and was not disappointed. Flavour and spices to the max (as required). A simple swap from the plain rice to an onion and garlic option finished off an excellent experience.

Food always great, very tasty. The only niggle is the wait. Even though you get a time to collect, 9/10 times you have to sit for a good 15-20 minutes. They do offer half a large though, which is 👍

Waited 35 mins on top of the hour waiting time I was told for my takeaway. To then get home and find my main dish was missing and my two starters were cold ! Shame to be writing this as the food is usually good however this isn’t the first time I’ve had missing food.

The food is always lovely however, this has become increasingly expensive, costing over £25 for 2 mains and chips and rice!! And the portion sizes are small compared to other Indian takeaways and compared to what they used to be. Another issue is always paying cash only and the wait time for the takeaway - tell you 45 mins but usually waiting longer!

It's not my 1st visit and certainly will not be my last! Fantastic food, outstanding staff, and a lovely place definitely recommend 👌

Food in general was quite nice however the "Meat at Zolsha" dish had very little lamb in it and the chicken was not the best I've had there, all other dishes were very good.

This was an excellent night out. They didn't put a foot wrong and everything was "class"

We were a party of 11 visiting for my Son's girlfriends 21st Birthday last night. I have to say the food was amazing and the price was very good. The service wasn't great, we were only told on the day it was cash only so we had a mad rush to get cash on our way there. My issue was staff reaching over us whilst eating, on more than one occasion I was nearly hit in the face as an arm appeared to clear glasses or rice bowls for example and a couple of us hadn't finished eating and bowls were attempted to be cleared. The bill wasn't very well itemised so it took a while and many calculations to work out who owed what. There was no online menu, but seems to be the same as Knaresborough and just to note, the carpark is shocking, don't let that put you off.

Another delicious meal at Zolsha

Didn't expect such a good meal. Restaurant looks a bit like a Diner, but the service was friendly and efficient and the food excellent. Each of the dishes were well prepared, well cooked and bursting with flavour. Staff smiled. Cobra beer on draught! 😀

Went for a birthday meal, from being served waited 45 minutes for our food. Main course came out, but they forgot our starters! We said we'd have our mains but was told the chef would cook fresh again if we waited for our starters. Starters came 10 minutes later which were good. Waited for our mains another 20 minutes to find our meals had been sat warmed up under heat lamps. Bhuna was hot round the edge and cold in the middle and the sauce had dried onto the chicken so it definitely wasn't cooked fresh as we were advised. Fatty chicken and very salty. This place is normally very good, we are regulars for the takeaway and restaurant however sadly, how perceptions change. There was no offer or good will gesture. We could see the waiter was trying to do his best but kept forgetting to get our drinks. We have had better service when the restaurant has been much busier. Stomach is well off this morning so we won't be going again which is a shame as this place is normally really good. It is also cash only which is bizarre in this day and age and let's it down.

Called in to collect a takeaway after work, the member of staff was brilliant, the service was excellent and the food is 10/10👍🏻

They brought the bill did not ask if we wanted anything else or another drink. Crispy potatoes was chip sticks you get in a packet will not be going any more

After reading all the reviews, we decided to try the Zolsha and traveled 40 miles to do so. We wont be doing it again I'm afraid. The most disappointing mixed grill i have ever had. And the chicken with strips of potato was chicken with what looked like crisp sticks in it. And to round it off, our bill was brought to our table without request, when we were just about to order more coffee. Not for me I'm afraid.

Nice food, excellent service, it's been well worth the wait for them to reopen after their renovation. Second visit today (Dec 2022) very nice veggie curries. Tikka Paneer Saag was outstanding very reasonably priced too.

Lovely meal with friends, varied menu (my chilli chicken was spicy & hot just the way I like it), portion size good, all freshly cooked, reasonably priced, 4/5 for service as slow to ask us what drinks we wanted and a wait for them to be brought to us otherwise 5/5, will definitely be back!

I'm new to the area and I was told Zolsha had an excellent reputation, so I tried it last week and was not disappointed! The staff was so helpful and polite, they were quick to serve you but wasn't rushed at all. I wasn't sure on the food choice as I don't like hot spicy food, they suggested which was best for me, the food was so delicious that I just wanted to share my experience. I would certainly recommend to anyone to try Zolsha, I certainly will be returning for another delicious meal. Thankyou to the chefs who we never get to meet but do a wonderful job.

Really nice place for an Indian dinner! We visited on a Friday evening and it was quite busy so I recommend booking a table in advance. Decent selection of veggie dishes. Really friendly and helpful staff, great attention to detail. Only downside is no drinks menu, so not sure on the prices of alcohol / drinks. Otherwise great and reasonably priced, will be visiting again!

Went for a take away, food good, had a long wait to collect, the the order was not complete when we got home, had to go back to collect

Used to love coming here but unfortunately it’s not what it used to be. Haven’t been here in over a year and left somewhat disappointed. Service was just ok, felt like they were all rushing round and storming up and down the restaurant with takeaways to be collected. My bag got knocked off the back of my chair twice so I removed it and placed it under the table instead. I felt like every time I asked them for another drink I was just putting them under more pressure. Drinks now come with teeny tiny cans of Coke if you get a spirit. Had to ask for more coke to go with it as my glass was only half filled. Food was just ok. Paneer tikka was so bland I couldn’t finish it, it had no taste at all. Main tasted ok in some bites and others it could have been my partners curry just with less spice. Popadoms, chutneys, Rice and Nan bread were all really nice. I don’t think il be returning anytime soon.

Lovely place to visit, the atmosphere is good, the people serving are attentive. The food is excellent. It looks very smart and the toilets are very clean too. Overall excellent!

Went to Zolsha last night and had a wonderful meal. The food was hot and tasted fresh and full of flavour. Good attentive service even though they were very busy. Hot plates too. Couldn't fault any of it. Will definitely be going back.

Been a while since I've been to Zolsha,but we were seeing a show at the shirehall so came here early on for something to eat.The staff were very welcoming and so was the pint if cobra I had,but that's where it ended. Our waiter asked us if we'd like some poppadoms whilst we were chosing our food,we were charged £17 for 10 poppadoms and 2 pickle trays! Our food also came in ceramic bowls with no table heaters to keep it warm so our food went cold very very quickly.My son had a chicken korma in which the chicken came in perfectly formed cubes! Won't return sorry.

When we’re at Howden we always either eat in or takeaway , It’s our favourite restaurant ,the food is wonderful , the staff so courteous just love it ❤️

I had the food as a takeaway, basically a close friend treated us all because he loved the food there. The food was delicious, I had a lamb dish with some Naan bread and was happy to see that they threw in some extras due to the order size. I also tasted various other dishes that my other friends ordered, it was a fair size order basically. I also appreciated the friendliness of the people there, for me that goes a long way.

We intended on ordering for take out however when we arrived the restaurant was quiet so we decided to eat in. The staff were friendly and helpful. The menu has a good variety of food and as I do not eat some foods I asked for something to be made off the menu and it wasn’t a problem for them. The naan bread was one of the best we have had from any other Indian restaurant. We were that impressed we have booked a table for Christmas day.

Driving back from the coast to our holiday cottage and one of a few local restaurants open on a Tuesday. We chose a selection of dishes that were all freshly prepared and very tasty. Would recommend.

Why would a restaurant not be better than your own cooking.I had lamb chops to start resembled old dog food ,the curry was just greasy

Originally coming from Bradford I have eaten well over 1000 curries in many restaurants and other eastern countries. Zolsha restaurant is one of the best ever, I cannot remember enjoying a better curry with friendly staff anywhere in the world.

Really tasty food and polite service

I visited on a Monday evening with my elderly parents. It was our first visit. We booked in for 5.30. We were warmly greeted, and out drinks and popadoms arrived promptly. We shared 3 main course curries, rice and nan breads. The good was piping hot and delicious! The nan bread was the best I have ever tasted. The restaurant was busy and with appropriate Covid measures in place. I also noted the food hygiene was rated a 5. Overall a lovely friendly service, very tasty food and we felt safe. An extra benefit was the Help out to Eat out! Thank you Zolsha we can’t wait to return!
