Lovely birthday meal! The service, atmosphere and food was fantastic. After a day out in Knaresborough, for my husband's birthday, he fancied a nice curry. We were very happy with the food and were made to feel very welcome. Despite being a bit short staffed that particular evening, the owner along with one other front of house worker went out of their way to look after us and everyone who was there. Thanks for the lovely experience, the tasty food and making my husband's birthday special.

Our first visit to this great resteraunt. Ahere in Knaresborough for the weekend .Lovely ambient place with attentive and pleasant waiting staff. The food was freshly made and absolutely delicious. Meals ordered can be spiced as you wanted 👍 We certainly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend .

We have been eating here for at least ten years so I am not sure why we haven’t reviewed it before! We generally visit at least once a month - work depending - and during winter it can be a weekly thing! The food is excellent, the team outstanding. I love the way they can adapt to adjust spice levels - also the very attentive service that means your glass need never be empty! There are fancier restaurants in Harrogate which are closer to us but for me in particular this restaurant feels like coming home. It can be a special occasion night but I never have to worry about how sparkly I look or feel if we visit early doors straight from work. Unpretentious but still a great, stylish and atmospheric little spot that gets our vote time and again.

Best of the best as far as clean,always delightful food and Always staff great. Good Value too. Naans are especially nice & Fresh

Takeaway very poor paid 52 pound 6 pound more than what the menu said and no 10 percent taken off. Food wasn't cooked fresh just warmed up dry chicken .pakora were soggy batter with dry mackerel for 7 pound.disgraceful.

We were on holiday in Knaresborough and came across Zolsha on the High Street. We went in and had a great experience! Abu was really friendly and the food and service was excellent. Can recommend the Vegetable Paneer Curry in particular and the Peshwari Naan. Thank you!!

Visited on a Thursday evening and enjoyed the banquet at £16.95 which includes a starter, main and rice or naan plus a glass of house wine or soft drink. This is also available on a Sunday evening and is excellent value for money. Very comfortable restaurant and excellent food and staff. Mostly locals which is a testament to the restaurant. We would definitely recommend and would visit again if we were in the area.

Ok we’ve just eaten here and it was a great experience. My partner asked for her food to be spicy and it wasn’t as spicy as she would have b liked but still great. They then brought the same dishes to take away with their compliments. Service above and beyond

Best Indian restaurant in the district!

Had a fantastic meal here, Abu and his team were first class. Price and service was excellent, we were not rushed and we were given good advice about what dishes would be suitable. Many thanks we will be back.

We came here 26.06.24 to celebrate our 4 year anniversary. The first thing we were pleased to notice was the friendly and attentive service from the guys in there, and the restaurant was extremely clean and welcoming. Secondly the food, well I think it was the best Indian I’ve ever had. Beautifully cooked fresh dishes, and when we got the bill we were shocked as to how cheap our total was! Extremely great value for money in my opinion. This whole experience really made the night - as on our walk up back along the river, up the cliff and to the castle was when my boyfriend proposed to me! Thank you guys for adding to our memorable night 😊💍

This was not our first visit to Zolsha and most certainly won’t be the last. We love the ambience here, friendly and efficient service and the most delicious food. Very generous portions, lovely tender meat and piping hot. Can’t wait till our next visit.

Easter weekend. Amazing food. Only issue was the amount of time to get any food over 45 minutes. Regulars who came in, were served before us.

When I lived in Knaresborough I came here regularly with my fiancé, This time we made a special visit from Shropshire where I now live because we enjoy it here so much. I went with my partner, son, his partner and their little boy who is less than two. The staff here could not have been more helpful and even remembered us from 18 months ago. The food here is fantastic, I can honestly say it is my favourite Indian restaurant bar none. I had my favourite dish Naga Takari, and it was just as good as I remembered. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, please visit if you get a chance.

I went tonight with family, and had a fantastic meal after a great suggestion from Abu. The food is incredible every time, the staff are all lovely, and I can't recommend it enough! Thanks Zolsha!!

It had been quite some time since having a takeaway from here as they’ve never been that great but thought I’d give it another chance after reading recent reviews. Scored it “average”because my husband thought it was okay, although both of us wondered what had happened to the rice as it had a texture, more like couscous plus the poppadoms which were quite soft. My chicken dish was very oily and so binned it. Naan bread was okay.

For me this is the best Indian in Knaresborough, and holds up well against the best in Harrogate too. Service is excellent, really attentive and the right level of speed. Dishes are good and varied, one of my common criticisms of Indian restaurants is that everything tastes the same but this is not the same here at all. Loads of variety and all uniquely tasty. Good drink selection. Really enjoy eating out here.

The food my mum and I were severed was amazing, bursting with lots of flavours. From the presentation and taste, I know it was cooked with passion. As It was my first time coming to Zolsha, I asked the server to recommend me a main which he chose the Zolsha Kebab Cocktail. It was honestly a great choice, not too hot but with enough spice to enhance the taste. The server was very helpful as I asked for a quick surprise to be made for my mum as it was her birthday. He made a quick dessert for her with great presentation. In addition he sang her happy birthday. She said all of that had made her month. I can honestly say, I can reccomend this restraunt to anyone. I loved this experience.

Zolsha is so great, my friends and I go every Thursday and we always look forward to it every week, we all love it so much; the food, service and company is all a 10/10. It pains me to say it, as I have eaten here many times over the years but... It really isn't as good as it once was. Sorry, there, I've said it. I ate with my family when there was a 'banquet' meal deal on. Two of us had the meal deal, others just chose from the menu. We ordered a selection of starters and mains and asked them to be brought out together. Although the restaurant wasn't that busy, it took fully 45 minutes for the food to come out – we didn't get any updates or an apology for the wait, just 45 minutes sat waiting. I chose the 'Meat at Zolsha' for my main and the quality of the meat wasn't great, with a few chewy bits and some fatty bits. One of the group had the chicken balti and she said there was very little chicken in it. It all tasted nice enough, but we felt the portions were on the small side (once you take the sauce away). Also, I had to ask for my glass of wine that came as part of the deal. It's a bit disappointing really as we like eating here and we can't afford to go out that much, but I think we'll consider trying somewhere else next time (unless they bring back the Sunday Buffet). Please, team at Zolsha, pick up your game.

A great evening was had by all at Zolshas with a party of 12 friends. The food was very tasty, and the service friendly and efficient - we were so well looked after, thank you!

Brought a mate here on a Friday night and we enjoyed our meal, Zolsha is consistently good,although haven't been for years.We got here early about 7pm and we're shown straight to our table,it gets very busy later and people have to wait for tables in the front seating area but that's fine have a drink.Will be back soon!

Called in to check out the banquet Thursday deal. A starter, main course and rice or naan with a glass of wine. What a bargain. We ordered poppadoms to start, the sauces were fab and not the typical samey ones you usually get. Mostly home made. Enjoyed the home made chilli one. I had a Zolsha Mirchi to start which was spicy mincemeat stuffed pepper, and it was yum, really rich tasty sauce, followed by Nagha Tarkaari .. this was a hot dish but again very tasty and enjoyable. Hubby had chicken chatt and Meat at Zolsha which was a mix of meat and Keema and 21 spices, he loved it, was a bit too spicy for me but the lamb was cooked well. I am very fussy with Indian food but I cleared bothe plates, very fresh and tasty and friendly service. We only managed to get a table so maybe worth booking in advance. We will definitely be back, or ordering take out. Thumbs up from me 🤙

Great for a lovely evening out with family or friends in Knaresborough. We had our favourite popadoms with dips followed by Namn bread and I had chicken Balti, Jaye the Rogan Josh and Keith had the Chicken Bryani all were delicious. A steady stream of customers kept the atmosphere friendly, happy and relaxed.

Had a nice curry here and was surprised to see it so busy especially on a Monday night. Which must show how good it is locally. The portion sizes were generous and we had more than enough to eat. Would recommend to anyone looking for a decent curry in the area.

Excellent chicken tikka bhuna. The sauce was spiced perfectly and was well-balanced, while the chicken pieces were moist and tender. The garlic naan was both crisp and fluffy, while the lemon rice was the best that I have had for a very long time. Recommended.

Absolutely amazing food. My partner and I love it here and have now proclaimed it one of our favourite places to eat in the world. We get the Exotica curry which is mild and delicious and all the trimmings....I'm talking chips, pashwari naan, poppadoms and a pickle tray....oh and rice. Its a feast of excellence and we always leave feeling satisfied and not having spent a fortune. Totally awesome.

Attended once. Won't be visiting again. 2 people attending on a Wednesday evening. Heard good things about Zolsha, glorified even, thought we'd check it out since everyone in the local pubs were going on about it. Spent 30 mins in the waiting area in a empty restaurant only to sit down at the same time as our starters came out. This was the highlight of the meal, couldn't fault the onion bhajis and paneer tikka and in hindsight we wished we had just gotten multiple starters. Partner had a paneer dish and I had a "king prawn" dish (King Prawn Wurra). Paneer main's sauce was lovely eventhough the paneer was cooked too much which resulted in it almost disintegrating in your mouth, turning to mush. My "king prawn" dish was alien if anything, for £14.95 you'd expect king prawns, not whatever these over cooked, leathery, mangled (Squid? Chopped up prawn? Scampi tails?) pieces of white flesh were. I had 2 pieces and stopped as my stomach said no, (this was last night and I can tell you I haven't had a very pleasant evening). The sauce was unbelievably flat, I'm certain I was just eating red water, and for a medium dish I was shocked to actually feel no spice, no fragrance. Closing comments: both mains were essentially poor for the price, flavourless, spice-less, especially the "king prawn" wurra. The starters were nice, would not go again. So goes on the journey for a decent curry house... In response to the owner; P2: I understand the seating arrangements and the mysterious inner workings of how the restaurant system works, I promise. P3: Service was speedy, I have had no issue with that at all, my concern was my "king prawn" dish as I am still feeling the after effects of this now. And yes the bread was eaten, as it was the only thing too eat a part from my partners main that wasn't going to turn my stomach further. P4: I'd argue for a restaurant with 30+ covers that 4 tables is "empty" Regardless, these are my opinions and mine alone, there are hundreds more that don't share these thoughts, thank you for your response but as I have had a bad experience with your food (not service) I won't be returning.

We have been many times before and loved it unfortunately the food was bland and tasteless and won’t be returning after our last experience we order the same thing each time so no excuse when I mentioned the lack of flavour the waiter blamed it on the curry we ordered but I disagree as the bhajis, paneer and naan bread also tasted bland won’t be returning after my last experience and taking back previous recommendations!
