Zizzi - Farnham in Waverley

It’s a shame I am having to write this review. I love Zizzi as a chain, and have visited many in the area, but I would never return to the Farnham branch. The male server (potentially manager) was arrogant and had a bad attitude. He spoke to us condescendingly, knocked my phone off my menu he picked up, was very hesitant towards us ordering on the Zizzi speedy order website, chucked down our drink cans without new glasses or any hospitality. The food was not to regular Zizzi standard. My calamari was dry and flavourless, and my pasta had no sauce. The staff looked very fed up, and tired. The best service I received was from the young waitress at the end, she was lovely. I recommend you do not go to this branch, but check out Basingstoke or Bracknell, as their service is brilliant.

I mostly order takeaway from Zizzi as this is very close to my house. I have ordered carbonara 3 times now but still in the 3rd order, the carbonara was very dry.. I felt like I was having boiled hard pasta with some pancetta.. No carbonara sauce or taste of it.. Even there is only 8-9pcs of tiny pancetta in there.. This is quite an expensive restaurant and they are being so fussy with the amount of ingredients is so disappointing.. Please be considerate with the quality of food and understand the money and product ratio.. 🙏🏻

First time at a Zizzi for a couple of years. Impressed with the updated menu and all of our food was lovely. Service a bit slow especially after our main meal.

A lovely evening in a very busy restaraunt. 4 staff off sick. Every staff member worked incredibly hard that night. The only disappointment was a £16.95 pasta dish coming with only 3 King prawns!

Always eat at farnham zizzis, think a new chef, ordered a margaritia pizza, it was like a basic £1 in a supermarket, no tomato sauce, and grated cheese everywhere, normally it has mozerella but not completely covering the pizza, very disappointing

Typical experience of visiting a chain restaurant. Service was good, food and drinks were ok. All our dishes were pretty bland, but you know what you are going to get.

Fabulous welcome lovely young guy who also served us very efficiently. Food was absolutely lovely, we shared a half and half pizza which was delicious, calamari to start also very good, and we were given some pasta crisps to try for free, we had a couple of yummy cocktails too. We will deffo return

The atmosphere was calm whilst we were there, (Monday lunchtime) which we purposely chose because it is a quiet time.

Saturday night, 12 of us. Our booking elsewhere fell through. Zizzi's accepted us without issue, made us super welcome and it was a lovely evening. Good food. Good atmosphere. Lovely staff. Really pleasant experience. Parking a bit of a pain but not impossible.

Pizzas are so thin they are luke-warm when you get them and cold after a few bites. It's not a Farnham thing, it's head office not paying enough attention in the design of their menu.

Faultless! Great service, the food was delicious and service time was good. We were attended to straight away once we walked in and the waitress was attentive throughout the night. The chocolate melt for desert was delicious - and I’d highly recommended it!

Just ordered a pizza via Uber eats from here and it is terrible !!! Not up to size standard at all - it’s so thin it’s like cardboard and had hardly any toppings at all !! Will never order again a Tesco 2 pound pizza is better

We had a really lovely girls meal out. The food was lovely and our server was great. What wasn't so great was being told that Zizzi is now a cashless place. I wanted to pay by cash, but was told I couldn't. I was very disappointed. We won't be going back anytime soon, which is a shame.

When we went there Saturday the 16th Sept around 7ish,we were asked if we would be okay to wait atleast 20 minutes to order which we were fine with. The ladies who came to take the order were so nice and considerate. One of the ladies who came to take the dessert order saw that I was a Muslim and she suggested to me all the desserts to avoid which had alcohol or gelatine in it. I was touched as it had never happened before without asking. I wish I got her name to thank her here. The food was tasty and not too expensive. The restaurant was clean. Toilets could do with a bit more attention. The vibe was nice and cozy. Will definitely go back there soon. Don't go by the negative reviews, try it for yourself.

We love coming to zizzis Farnham always great food and lovely staff. We had a party of 20 and they catered for us brilliantly. Will definitely be back

Service was very slow, we were seated in a very cold area with a cold draft. A couple of the meals were poor, overcooked fish and bad french fries, tasteless meatballs. Definitely wouldn't recommend unfortunately

Disappointing evening, the hard surfaces make for a noisy environment, not helped by a large hen party, and we couldn't hear each other. As for the food, my rustica pizza was really very good but sadly my wife's gluten-free pizza was soggy underneath the topping.

The food was delicious. Enjoyed the new prawn starter. The service was decent but slow lack of staff. But one mos stood out to me was Claudia (I hope that’s how you spell her name) she seemed really aware of the wants of customers. And wouldn’t ignore me if I needed someone to come over. She gave me hard worker vibes! We need more servers like her. And I hope she is appreciated by staff there

I tried a new vegan pizza Italian garden It was large in size but nearly finished it all Vegan cheese veggie plus pesto and some bits l removed may try again but maybe stick to what l know is good

July 2023 update: service still slow, poorly organised and therefore food cold. Also getting pricey - we paid £130 for 4 including 1 kids meal and a couple of drinks... 2021 review: Food great but service sloooow. (Apologetic but still slow). We visited on a Tuesday lunchtime. Not that busy. But not enough staff on for number of tables.

I always meet up with friends here a few times a year, always enjoyed it. However, tonight I have noticed a massive change in quality and skimping on ingredients and feel it was not great value for money. Staff were friendly but when paying for the bill I asked for a receipt didn't get one checked my bank account as leaving to only find out I had been charged a pound more with the tip. went back and was given a refund and my receipt. Wasn't impressed. I wish I'd taken a photo of my food, but it was like a margarita with a few extras on it, I ve seen more filling on the supermarket pizza's. Going out is far and few between for me, so was very disappointed. I rarely write bad reviews and have found it hard writing this as we are all feeling the penny pinch , even more do we rely on our rare nights out, we need them to be value for money

Visited here early evening mid week. Blown away by the amazing customer service not often seen in a chain restaurant. It was fairly quiet when we arrived but positively buzzing by the time we left. The staff were very hard working, pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. The food was delicious! We will definitely be visiting again! Thank you for a lovely evening.

Had an absolutely delightful experience at zizis tonight! The decor was stunning and the atmosphere was lush! The food was absolutely delicious and such quick service! All of the staff were so lovely and friendly but our waiter VJ was amazing! He was very attentive, kind and friendly and helped give recommendations! Would definitely visit again and recommend to other people! Thank you :)

Just sat in the new courtyard area for lunch. Beautifully shaded and comfortable. New items on menu and food was really good. We all enjoyed our choices. Service friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

This is my go to restaurant and it did not let me down, great food, as usual, the atmosphere was a bit low but that was due to nearly all the tables outside on a very warm evening were full. My friend and I had the same meal and it was first class with service just off top score due to staff shortages but this did not spoil another enjoyable evening. Thank you.

We visited here midweek for a family meal. The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was extremely average. The menu had so many items missing and the pizzas ordered had a laughable amount of topping on. Will not be rushing back

Awful service. Possibly the worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time. Slow service, requests ignored, meals out one at a time, no cutlery, cold food, dietary requirements ignored, no interest when complaint made. The list goes on! Avoid.

The pizza was delicious and loved their own hot sauce. I was also pleasantly surprised by the lemon flavoured dessert.

The waiter was attentive and sociable, the restaurant was cold. We ordered a starter off the gluten free menu, the garlic bread was unfortunately soggy and generally not very nice which was disappointing. My dad had gluten free resotto which was average and my pizza was average as well. Portion side was good, but ultimately door was average which leads to the 3 star review.

Thoroughly enjoyed our new year's Eve dinner here. Ate from the set menu, which offered a good choice of starters, mains and puddings. Also included some wonderful "pasta crisps". Portion sizes were great and food arrived quickly. Service was friendly and efficient.

Decided to go for a meal as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 four year olds) and we've been to this Zizzi's plenty of times so thought we couldn't go wrong. We should have just stayed at home!! We went for an early dinner at 4pm. There were a maximum of 6 tables being used in the restaurant the whole time we were there. We ordered garlic bread to start - burnt. Two pasta dishes - both quite nice, no complaints, except the portion sizes were tiny. 2 kids pizzas - ok, although both had caught on the outside. We then waited over 40 minutes from finishing mains before I got fed up and asked the manager if someone could clear our plates. I also pointed out to him that there were 2 other families who had been waiting for service for a long time too. The manager grunted back to me, not apologetic at all and eventually, plates were cleared and dessert orders were taken. I wouldn't have bothered with dessert but the kids wanted ice cream. We were there for 2 hours in total in an empty restaurant. I dread to think what the service is like when its busy, if this was the standard with only 6 tables being used!! Exceptionally poor service. Tiny portions. Average food. We won't be back. What a shame!!

Never been to Zizzi before. They blew us away today. Service excellent. Food gorgeous. Big portions. Lovely vegan choices. Thrilled that we chose them today.

The atmosphere and our waitress were lovely, food was good however the managers apparent disdain for two families dining out together to celebrate birthdays made us feel less than welcome.

Worst Zizzi I have been to by far. Terrible service.

Had a family lunch here and were worried about how it would go due to the negative reviews online. However, we were pleasantly surprised. Our meals were all very nice - we had pizzas and calzone. The waiter was pleasant but inexperienced.

Chaotic process when waiting to be seated. 4 different members of staff told us they would be with us in a moment which was unnecessary. We ordered and waited half an hour for our starter. The Calamari was very pale looking. It was a very small portion with just a slice of lemon on the side for over £7. It was overcooked so it was tough. Poor value for money even if it had been cooked right. Pizza was good but nothing special. Not a great experience and very disorganised throughout. We will not go back.

Visited this restaurant when it was relatively empty on a Saturday afternoon. Lovely attentive waitresses however food was a different story. I had the Rigatoni Della Cassa. I expected this to be better than something that could be made at home however I was wrong about this. Whilst it did come out hot the sauce itself lacked any depth of flavour and was very thin. You could have better by using a pre made jar of pasta sauce at home!

Dreadful food and poor service We went to zizi for a family occasion and what a disappointment. I have given two stars because my family all had pizza and they said there’s was ok but mine was awful. I ordered the pork with crackling… broccoli, sweet potato and fried potatoes were stone cold, greasy, precooked and reheated so had ghastly texture. My pork looked very unappetising grey and reheated but it did taste good. I left the rest. The service was great from the first waitress we had but from there on in it went downhill. Shambolic!! The only reason I didn’t make a fuss was we had two small children who needed to eat then get to bed.

Elliot the manager sat us down and I thought hey "this is gonna be a good night". However the chefs were not with it starters were not worth leaving the house for. However the waiter and Elliot were real gentleman and saved it for us as it was a special occasion. We will def try again just because of Elliot. Thank you Elliot.

Sadly, not a great experience. On arrival we were told that the restaurant couldn't serve pasta because of machine technical issues. We found out on trying to order other menu items that it was anything that required boiling or frying. This meant that we couldn't get the prawn starter or even chips! I really wish this was expressed before we sat down. We also ordered cocktails which weren't available as they didn't have the ingredients. What we could order was only okay. There was also a lot of construction work going on that was loud. We booked in advance so it might have been nice to get a call explaining, especially as the restaurant wasn't at all busy and it would've taken 5 minutes to do.

Nice laidback early evening meal in the warm August sunshine - it was a pleasure to just relax and eat. Our waitress was particularly helpful, guiding us through the dishes and any potential allergies. Good food nicely prepared and excellent rose wine. A lovely end...

I’ve been to this restaurant years ago and had a good experience. This time the service was terrible and the food awful. The tables next to be me were all complaining. They mucked up our order and it took ages. We left most of our food too. I was so disappointed and will not be back. Standard has really dropped.

I don’t really want to be leaving this review but I’ve actually been left no choice. We ordered some lamb pasta amongst a few other bits yesterday through Just Eat from this branch of Zizzi and the food was horrendous - won’t go into detail but it was 2 bowls of watery slop that I wouldn’t even feed my dog. I then contacted the branch itself in Farnham and was basically told that they were not interested and to take my complaint up with Just Eat. I reiterated that the food was cooked by them and not Just Eat but the lady I spoke to was not interested at all and would. It even listen to my complaint. I then got in contact with Just eat and low and behold - there is no option under their complaint section for the food being poor, only if it arrives cold so I clicked that button to make a start with logging my complaint but explained that it wasn’t about it being cold, it was about the food being terrible / beyond terrible. They have offered my a £5 voucher which I declined and that is the best they can do. I have been robbed of £45 for food which I would not give to my worst enemy and the restaurant itself were not interested and neither is just eat. It’s a shame because we eat in the Farnham branch regularly and will continue to do so, I want this complaint to be taken seriously and if I am refunded for the money I wasted on food I had to throw away then I will remove this review, it’s purely here to try and get someone’s attention and to have the right thing done. Outrageous service with no one taking accountability for a shocking meal which is not on!!

We went for an early family dinner. Really nice setting and excellent service. The children’s menu is really good. It was a sunny day so we sat outside. A thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.

I used to love Zizzi but I think those days are over. On Saturday in Southampton we waited 5 minutes for the front of house woman even to acknowledge us before she told us very sharply that there were no tables available. Never one to give up we booked a table in Farnham for Friday night. Service was ok but it seemed that takeaway orders were taking precedence over diners actually in the restaurant. Food was average. Soul breads had obviously been allowed to go cold and been reheated as they were almost hockey puck in consistency. My sea bass was lovely but there was virtually no meat in my husband's spaghetti Bolognese and the sauce was very watery. Would we go back? Possibly but unlikely.

With the kids meal it works out quite good value. Overall very good. Just watch out for extras such as starters as this can hike the overall bill up considerably.

I went recently and one of the men in the kitchen was looking at the girl I was with through a pizza box that he cut holes in to see her. I just think that some of the staff are pervs and need to be fired.
