Food was delicious. Came here on a Saturday lunch time, where there was one other table eating. Service was slow considering there were just two tables - but worth the wait for the food and at a decent price for Farnham centre. A little gem.

The best Italian restaurant in Farnham Excellent beef carpaccio and pasta. Amazing staff always very friendly and welcoming! Highly recommend to come and try delicious food!

I went here on a Wednesday night and had some amazing food. It was very quiet and now on a Wednesday night we've only three tables taken in the whole restaurant the food and the service I had were both very good but the atmosphere was a little bit dead won't stop me going back, but I might choose to go on Friday or Saturday next time, I would love to see this place as it is a hidden gem in the historic town of Farnham

We had a beautiful lunch, the food was just delicious and we had such a friendly welcome. I enjoy being able to support a family business instead of big chains and the people that own this place are so lovely. The house wine (I had the white) is really nice and very reasonable, the food is so tasty. They were also really accommodating of us e.g. doing different topping on each side of a pizza so my kids could share one. If you haven’t been yet, go!

This was absolutely my meal of the year. The food was excellent, the service immaculate. I loved it and would have no hesitation in recommending here and will definitely be returning.

Smart restaurant with lovely white linen and friendly staff. I was looking forward to the beef carpaccio which was cured meat as opposed to fresh meat. Calamari’s from a packet. Pizza was ok but not great. Service very slow.

Wow what a hidden gem this is in Farnham. The restaurant is situated off the beaten track away from the high street and opposite Waitrose. We walked past it various times and we were instantly drawn in by the white table cloths, so for us it was a must to try. We visited the restaurant on Saturday 3rd August and what an excellent Italian this was. The food was divine all made from fresh ingredients, the service was outstanding and we had a lovely little table at the top of the restaurant as you walked in to the left. We were very well looked after and our waiter was very attentive. If you are looking for a nice meal out, then this is the place to come! absolutely fabulous, we will be back!

Food was amazing, the vegan spaghetti was the best spaghetti I’ve ever tried. The waitress was so kind and welcoming. Would 100% recommend to everyone who has a family

Tried this out for lunch with my husband today. Great Italian food and atmosphere. Felt like I was in Italy especially with the background music. Looking forward to going back and already craving the parmigiana aubergine dish!

Attended for a birthday meal and the atmosphere was great, cuisine was well prepared and timely too. Would highly recommend

Had an amazing time with the family. Food was very tasty and the restaurant has an amazing selection of Italian wines.

We went here for supper on a Sunday. The one staff member we saw was polite, attentive and friendly. I ordered the blackened salmon and it arrived raw in the middle. The hollandaise sauce was questionable. I sent it back and it still was not cooked properly when it came out again. I ordered pizza instead and they did not charge me for that or the salmon which provided a resolution. 5 stars for customer service. The other food was satisfactory but I agree I would not call this an authentic Italian restaurant with regards to the food or the atmosphere. P.S. yes I have been to Italy 🇮🇹

High hopes were had following online photos of the food. First date night with my husband in a while and expectations were high for the food. All I can say is, to call this fine Italian dining with authentic cuisine, would have my Nonna turn in her grave. Firstly, no air con and no atmosphere/ambiance in the office - kind of felt thrown together. No beers on tap as they were having a refurb aparently. No long island ice tea cicktail - to which we were offered a herbal tea over ice instead!! - obviously this is nothing like a cocktail. Starters were OK, although the salad 'my way' was very over rpiced for what looked like 1 sundried tomato and two slices of mozerella cut up, drizzled with pesto - not a homemade dish by any means - which is probably why id was the tastiest of the bunch. Next comes the mains. Husband had the raviloli. no flavor and not the size of a main. And for my pizza - what the hell was that? nothing like the photos - no pizza sauce, over cheesed - but the cheese was barely cooked. base was rigid and quite thick - very reminiscent of a certain Dr Oekter - but I have no doubt Dr Oekter would not box up this tasteless piece of ****. Pizza was sent back and since husband had almost finished, although the staff said they would remake my pizza, date night was well and truley ruined and I decided to not have another sent. Asked for the bill - where they left the pizza on, so that had to be re-done - depserate to get out of there, baring in mind I had not eaten I was delivered a desert - if i didnt want to eat a pizza alone, doubt I would want to do the same with a desert - just get me out of there! Bill came - wicth service charge left on! - what a cheek! asked for that to be removed and if there was anything else they could do.. here is the fun part - can of diet coke removed and.... ready for this... they removed the up charge for the cheese on the garlic bread and made it just a plain garlic bread price! praise the lord-all is now well with the world... I would say to avoid this place if you are use to eating quality, tasty, authentic Italian food.. if you have a bland, un adventous pallet then this maybe the place for you..

Very dissapointed. Authentic Italian this is not. I don't believe one Italian works there. The food is less than average. Hate to say it, but pasta felt like it was all brought in. Wish we'd gone to Piccollo's!

Rather disappointing experience. Did not come away feeling I had just eaten at an Italian restaurant. The place had no aircon or draught beer - both very important when it's hot and humid. The main course flavours were also not as expected. Unlikely to be rushing back.

We eat out a lot in Farnham but for various reasons we had never been to The Barn. This was rectified on Saturday when my daughter took us out for a pre father's day lunch, and it was lovely. It is not pretentious, what you see is what you get, namely good Italian pastas and pizzas. A varied choice, good sized portions and well presented. The place is very clean and the staff are very friendly. Will deffo be going again.

The friendly staff and tasty food made for an enjoyable night out in central Farnham. We had two of the pasta dishes and the Cannoli. Reasonable prices and plenty of options to go back again.

Great food and service. We went at 5:00pm on a Wednesday so the atmosphere was understandably quiet. The portions were very generous and as non meat eaters we had a lot of choice. We will be going back!

Someone needs to update their menu and photos. This is no longer a local 'bistro', they don't do coffee and panini's. This is a proper restaurant experience with restaurant prices. If you want a bistro/cafe you need to go elsewhere. The new owners need to remove the signage in the windows as it is a false impression.

Very disappointing experience, took our friends for lunch and it was such a let down. Calamari was the worst I’ve ever had, not authentic and the tartar sauce was mixed with salad cream - just how they eat it in Italy (not). Arancini was bland, four cheese pizza had a really thin base and was overloaded with blue cheese, extremely sickly. The only good thing about the whole meal was carbonara, it was actually nice. I also want to say the service was great and attentive. Wouldn’t come back and wouldn’t recommend, this is an Italian restaurant for someone who’s never had proper Italian food in their life and can’t tell the difference. Really regret spending my money here as it was £60 for lunch so not the cheapest either. Edit: I am editing this in line with the owners response - honestly it’s laughable you call yourself authentic Italian. And ok maybe this review doesn’t fit in with the rest of your “patrons” because your patrons are old white British people who never stepped foot on a plane; perhaps you can fool them you’re an “authentic Italian” restaurant but someone who actually knows their food will know there’s nothing authentic about what you’re serving. Learn how to take criticism and perhaps also how to cook Italian food. All the best.

Everything cooked and presented well. The desserts were amazing. The only thing to note is, that it is quite pricey.

We had the whole restaurant for our group of approx 70 on Sunday evening. The venue was perfect - ideal for a private function and a lovely atmosphere. Parking was easy as it's right next to the Waitrose car park. We had a 3 course set menu and everyone agreed that the options were delicious - I didn't hear a single negative word from anyone there. I enjoyed the vegan options. I'd recommend The Barn Bistro for anyone looking for good Italian food in a lovely venue.

The food was of a high quality and the service was very friendly but a little slow. To be fair, it was a very busy day when we visited and so slightly slower service was I suppose not unexpected. There are some vegan main courses and they cater for children, though there's not a separate children's menu.

We met friends for dinner yesterday evening at The Barn Bistro and had a great time. The service was excellent and very friendly. I had the Calamari to star and then Penne Ragu for my main. Both dishes were excellent, well presented and very tasty. The restaurant itself is nicely set out and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and I look forward to returning. Many thanks for a lovely evening.

Great food at an excellent price, however went on Valentine's Day so the service was very slow / being given our table despite having made a booking. Imagine this is not usually an issue though

I wouldn’t bother with The Barn! We booked a table, when we turned up - they were closed!!! You might be luckier but it’s a really bad sign and speaks volumes. No call, text etc to warn us! Dreadful!!!

Spaghetti Carbonaras were tasteless not creamy and the garlic seemed powdery, But the Pitza was nice ...............

What a cracker. Staff were an absolute delight, food was delicious, and they just went a few extra steps on a number of things which just really made the whole evening. Definitely recommend this place. Marked the atmosphere down 1 star ONLY because it was a little quiet but imagine weekends are superb.

Ordered spaghetti bolognaise which was actually over-cooked chewy tagliatelle with a thin liquid sauce with perhaps one piece of meat broken up into bits. Didn’t taste of much and certainly wasn’t spaghetti bolognaise! Pizza was ok, nothing special. Cheesecake had a weird soggy sponge base and was still frozen in the middle so I called the waiter over. He just looked blankly at me so I asked him to take it away and not charge me for it. I don’t think he had ever worked as a waiter before. I don’t understand the good reviews on here, it was like they didn’t know how to cook Italian meals?! Very expensive and not worth it.

Not too busy but a nice atmosphere. Food was very tasty - I chose Bruschetta to share and then the Crab Ravioli 😋😋 I was going to have the Affogato but there was no vanilla ice cream so I just had a black americano which was lovely. All in all we had a very nice time.

Hidden gem in the heart of Farnham. Delicious Mediterranean dishes, appetizers, pizza, pastas and delicious desserts, Italian wines and superb service. Looking forward to visiting again and again.

An excellent meal and lovely service. It was Sunday lunchtime and pretty quiet. Four of the group had pizzas which were excellent. I had carbonara which was one of the best I’ve had.

Tried here for the first time tonight. A warm welcome and then shown to the only table for two that wasn’t laid up properly. Staff knowledgeable about the menu and what options were available as gluten free. Wine list isn’t great and for a supposed Italian restaurant, there’s no explanation as to where wines are from or their vintage. Arancini felt as if it was frozen and brought in… however beef carpaccio was good. Nice balsamic glaze. Crab ravioli was tasty (albeit served on a chipped bowl with greasy marks on it) and a gluten free pizza seemed to hit the spot. Desert menu had pictures, which for me, is always a no, no. My main issue is the atmosphere, there was only one table when we arrived, the lighting is very bright (even with some bulbs removed) and the music is piped through a tinny speaker. As a suggestion, some tealights, the lights dimmed and a quality speaker for the music would really lift the whole place. Someone with a rucksack and hoody was working on a laptop at the back, staff were sitting down at tables and then someone arrived with bags of laundry (I’m guessing table cloths and napkins). Not a great look. Two starters, two mains and a bottle of Pinot Grigio was £73.00…. I’d like to try a panini and coffee at lunchtime but certainly wouldn’t rush back for dinner.

This Italian restaurant is such a wonderful find! The food is absolutely first class and the service could not be better. The owners have also designed it cleverly with atmospheric lighting and have interesting deli items displayed. At last we have a first class restaurant in central Farnham.

We had booked up a table for 6 people on Friday evening 27 Oct at 19:00. We had heard mixed reviews on this place but thought we would give it a try. This building used to be a domestic appliance shop and has now been converted into the restaurant it is today. There is two levels to this place with two tables on the entrance in and then more tables on the lower level after going down a short flight of stairs. When we arrived we were actually quite surprised to see many tables empty and only three other tables in use. Anyway the place is so clean and tidy and we were made to feel quite welcome and settled in for a lovely evening. We had a bottle of red wine at £26:90 and a white wine at £23:90 and both were excellent. We all had starters and three had the Bruschetta at £5:90 each The Pollo Parmigiana at £7:90, and two had the Calamari Fritti at £9:90 each. All the starters were absolutely superb and I particularly enjoyed the Pollo Parmigiana. We had a variety of mains with two having the Spaghetti Bolognese at £12:90 each. Two also had the superb Spaghetti Nero Gamberoni at £14:90 each. One had a soup of the day as a main at £6:90 and the final meal was the Pollo Milanese Spaghetti at £12:90. As with the starters all of really enjoyed the mains and found them to be great value. Only three of us could eat a dessert but again these were lovely. The place has only one shared toilet which if the place was full could be an issue but we never had any problems. You can only speak as you find and our whole experience was of a really superb restaurant with great food at reasonable prices. If you have never eaten here before it is certainly worth giving it a chance. Parking is never an issue as the Hart Car Park is literally just across the road. Enjoy.

What an absolute delight of a place! The staff were so welcoming and friendly, especially with my kids, and the food was INCREDIBLE. It’s a really nice atmosphere, so clean and comforting. The drinks were really good quality and reasonably priced. Everything we had was amazing. We weren’t rushed at all but staff were always on hand and checking in to make sure we were happy. Enjoyed everything - we will be back!

The best food in Farnham. I live in the centre so I have great opportunity to try everything in the local area but the food in this place has me being a repeat offender. Great spot for an intimate date, with a friendly atmosphere.

We’ve been meaning to visit for some time. Took our family out for dinner after a few friends had mentioned how lovely it was. We dined early with two boys. A warm welcome and excellent service. The menu has lots of choice but mainly pizza and pasta. We had a selection of antipasti to start and pizza and pasta for mains. The food was simple and delicious. The house white very tasty. A nice quiet relaxed atmosphere. Having moved across town we’ve been looking for a local Italian restaurant and this is a great place. Personally we found the food to be better than other local competitors. And not far behind our favourite Daniele Sicilian. Thanks for the warm welcome we will be back!

Visited the Barn Bistro for our 22nd anniversary yesterday evening. Had a lovely time. Food was wonderful, staff very friendly, very good value and 100% will be returning.

just returned from a week in the Italian Riviera and this place surpassed every restaurant there. Food was excellent, prices very reasonable and service 100%. You can have a delicious pizza from only £12ish or 3 courses with lovely wines from £40 a head. Give this excellent restaurant a visit, you won’t regret it, we will be returning.

Very ordinary. I understand that the catering trade is suffering and that any new venture is a risk. We came here based on the astonishingly good reviews and expected something pretty good. The place is set out nicely with spotless white linens however….. The menu offered was not the entire menu on the website. No ‘Secondi’ course was on the menu which was very disappointing. The Bruschetta was slightly soggy ciabatta, the tomatoes not dressed. The pizza my husband had was way too overloaded with cheese. The rest of our meal was ok but nothing that could not be produced at home with ease. It’s a shame but it did not live up to the hype at all. We wouldn’t return.

Excellent food, the Gorgonzola on the Quattro Formagi pizza is incredible! I love coming here, it’s quiet at lunchtimes which is surprising given the quality of the food and the friendly service. Hopefully word will spread.

I had lunch here one Sunday with my son and his partner. We are all vegetarian and found good menu choices. They had garlic bread and bruschetta for starters, two of us chose the vegan lentil ragu for the main course and my son ordered penne arabiatta. The food was excellent while service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

Just had lunch there. The food was absolutely delicious - I had bruschetta, crab ravioli and cannoli (which were better than the ones I had in Sicily recently). Loved the tablecloths. Made it so much more than just 'lunch'. Highly recommend.

Just had lunch here. A little out of the way - up by Waitrose - so you might not have seen it yet, but the food (Italian) was delicious, well priced, nicely served and the tablecloths and decor make it that bit more special. There is also a deli attached so you can buy olive oil, pasta, balsamic, wine etc. yum!

A very pleasant Bistro just off the main High Street near Waitrose. Nice atmosphere, and excellent hosts. I only had the Panini but it tastes great and the coffee is excellent. They have an extensive and competitive Italian menu. Worth dropping in.

Was so excited to try this place after reading all the reviews. Came down for a spontaneous date night! Wine list was a little restrictive for us with only one option by the glass. I had my favourite pollo milanese, the spaghetti was lovely, but sadly the chicken was tough and seemed like it had been microwaved/reheated. I mentioned this to the waitress and no compensation or replacement was offered. My wife had the pizza and it was great so can't fault them there. Left with mixed feelings!
