Our favourite restaurant in town. Always welcomed with a smile. Food is incredible and service is fantastic.

Spectacular venue. The carbonara was amazing as was the liver.

Extremely average pizzas. Undercooked base, tasteless tomato and what tasted like cheddar, no evidence of mozzarella. Mean toppings yes somehow over cooked and mushy. Such a shame, will not be repeating the experience- the restaurant was very cold by the way, needed to wear a coat.

What a find! We were visiting the area for a few days and ate here twice as we were so impressed on the first occasion! Authentic, first class, freshly cooked Italian food that we couldn't fault. Really good sized portions, served nice and hot and good choice of gluten free options! (Excellent gluten free pizza and possibly the best gluten free Risotto I've ever tasted). As if all this wasn't enough the staff were friendly, courteous and knowledgeable and it's a popular place with a great ambience. We'd seriously return to the area just to revisit the restaurant!

Visited this popular little 'Italian' few times before. Always decent. Bruschetta not large plate but perfectly tasty. Mains for myself and partner both good Pasta dishes. Only slight criticism was my Crepe for dessert was cold and with a gentle word to waitress I received a free Limoncello shot...fair recompense I guess!? The Montepulciano was also nice- I like the Carafe option which offers sufficient for 2 with 1 maybe driving?? Nice spot along a highstreet - Godalming - offering a good selection of eateries. Will happily revisit in time. X

From the moment we stepped into this restaurant, we knew we were in for a treat. The inviting atmosphere combined with the rustic Italian decor instantly made me feel at home. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel like part of the family. The food was simply divine! We started with the bruschetta, which was perfectly toasted with a delicious balance of fresh tomatoes, basil, and olive oil. For our main courses, the Spaghetti Puttenesca was by far the best pasta I've ever had. I highly recommend the Tagliatelle Agnello, my sister loved the quality of the meat! Their wine list was great too, with lots of Italian options to choose from which complemented our meal perfectly. And to top it all off, the tiramisu was the best we've ever had. Our waitress was also lovely; she made great recommendations, kept our drinks topped up, and checked in just the right amount without being intrusive. Perfect service to match the delicious food. If you’re looking for an authentic Italian dining experience, this is the place to go. We’ll definitely be back!

We wanted to meet for a quick drink and order take away food from your restaurant. We arrived around 6pm on Monday evening, the restaurant was not busy at all. We have been met by a young lady called Ela ( that was the name on the receipt). There was no warm welcome or even a smile, i asked very politely if it is ok for us to have a drink and then order food to take home with us to which she rolled her eyes and said it is "fine" and walked away. At this point my friend and i thought she is probably having a really bad day or having personal issues and did not want to judge so we went and sat at one of the tables near the window. A few seconds after another waitress came to us (believe her name is Michelle based on again a receipt ) and asked if we are ready to order - it has been literally 2 minutes of us sitting down. I have explained that i spoke with her colleague and we will have a drink and then order food for home and imagine my surprise when she told us - " We are not a pub,you can not have drinks without food". The tone of her voice and face expression made both of us feel so unwelcome and embarrassed especially as there was still a few people in the restaurant that can hear this. I did then very politely explained that we will be ordering food to take home, but wanted to grab a drink first to which she then tried to grab the food menus from the table and i have asked her if its ok to keep at least one so we can choose what we will order, she left one on the table looked at me like i was some sort of lowlife person. At this point the night was ruined completely for my friend and i. Both of the waitresses start coming every 15 minutes to ask if we are ready to order, we did not even managed to finish the drinks before we were made to order by Michelle. We were so rushed and no eye contact, no smile, nothing. We have ordered the food around 7pm. One of the ladies brought everything and left it on the table without any communication. At this point i asked for the bill as we just wanted to go. She returned with the bill and left, took her another 5/10 minutes to come back with the card machine. Still no conversation is happening. We left the restaurant around 7:30pm. I do not really understand why we have been treated in this awful way. I have been visiting the restaurant previously as i used to life in Godalming and never had issues with the staff, moved over 3 years ago and missed the place, hence why wanted to pop in and have a nice evening. Sadly this did not happen. I have never been treated this way in my whole life. This level of customer service is unacceptable. Demeaning people that are coming to support the business is very poor. You can not treat people differently based on religion or race, just because we were not english does not mean we deserved to be treated this way. I am saying this because there was an elderly english couple who sat near us (ordered two salads and two glasses of wine) and they were not greeted the same way nor had the same type of service. In the end of the day we have left £60 (a glass of prosecco and Cosmopolitan cocktail, calamari, sea food risotto and pizza was what we ordered) that night and it did not make any difference if we stayed and eat there or took it home. Needless to say i will be not returning to this restaurant and will not recommend having food there to anyone.

Good food as usual with the salmon/crab starter delicious. Mains were great although the marinara risotto was very peppery. The Crepe Vesuvio is always a winner. Unfortunately I was charged 12.5%service. A disgrace. All you did was bring me my food. It’s my choice to tip staff - but until you remove this charge we won’t be back.

We have walked past this restaurant so many times and always thought it looked nice but had never gotten around to trying it. The staff were really friendly. We both had salads which were generous portions and tasted amazing! I’d recommend the panzanella! Great food, great service, would definately come back!

Food: the food was very tasty, and clearly high quality. We started with the gambroni (can recommend, very flavourful) and then had pizzas (Toscana and four cheese). We can highly recommend these Service: The service was quick and efficient Atmosphere: nice decor, feels cosy and upmarket

We are regular customers at this fabulous restaurant. We are moving away after 9 years and will really miss it. The food is delicious with great veggie options. The staff are lovely.

It is a revisitation of a typical Italian trattoria, not sophisticated food nor ambiance, but good quality and quantity. The owner has some connection with Italy, but is not 100 % Italian and it will not be missed my a genuine Italian customer. But it is a good place with medium prices and good service.

Everything we were served and the service was excellent. I talked to the chef afterwards and told him how good the food was. This was my first visit and already looking forward to visiting again.

Surpassing all expectations from the Italian restaurant in a small town.

Went here for dinner having been to Piazza Firenze in Hampton Hill/Teddington previously and was very disappointed - the food was sub par. To start, we had dirty plates placed down onto our table before I had to request a clean one.. this was followed by food which wasn’t good. My pizza’s (Fiorentina) topping included an egg, which may as well have been cracked onto the pizza as it came out the oven - it was practically raw. Spinach on top was also burnt.. dough was decent though. The pasta my partner had was okay, but not what I’d expect from this restaurant charging £15.00 per dish. My advice? Save yourself the disappointment and head to Pizza Express down the road!

I had lunch here for a second time and what a delightful and delicious experience it was both times. Next time I am working in the area I will make a point of coming. I had the lunch menu with a glass of house red and a sumptuous risotto. Both were real delight. Finished with a cappuccino and a rather special hot glass. The service is exemplary, atmosphere friendly relaxed yet invigorating. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Food is always good, fresh and tasty. Portions are good and price is very fair for the area. Staff always friendly and welcoming. If going on a Saturday night, it's best to book as it gets pretty busy Dont bother with Prezzo up the road, this is where you want to go

Pizza was good but the supposedly homemade tiramisu was the worst dessert I have ever tasted. It was just sponge fingers with whipped cream. Even Tesco makes better quality tiramisu than this. I couldn't even take a second bite. Horrible. Such a shame. This is supposed to be an authentic italian restaurant. When I complained about it, they didn't even care.

Lovely find - with options of gluten-free pizza and pasta! Wish there was a branch closer to where I live!

Went here with friends to celebrate a mates birthday at lunch time. I can honestly say that I had the best tasting Italian food I have ever had in the UK. The Calamari starter was great and the Liver main dish was superb. The service was really good, unobtrusive but efficient. I will definitely return. The pricing was very reasonable.

We were supposed to spend our Valentine's lunch at this restaurant. My partner who's English was to follow us as he had to check something out first. So it was just me (Asian) and our son who went ahead first. As we were entering the door, a tall guy (I'm assuming the manager) blocked our way and almost closed the door on us telling us they're already closing at 4. It was just around 230 pm then. My son was trying to go inside but the man was just standing at the door and prevented us so I had to tell our son that the store is closing and we can't go in anymore. The restaurant wasn't even full, but the people there were looking at us and I felt so embarrassed that I just didn't argue anymore and just pulled my son gently out of the door way.

Nice staff, tasty food, good service

Staff pleasant Christmas meal of turkey was not good. Potatoes looked as though they had been left from day before and veges were one small piece of broccoli. Food is very over priced for the quality and portions.

Always our ‘go to’ for Friday night supper. Lovely, attentive staff, busy and full tables . Good menu, but we always enjoy starters: Calamari plus Asparagus Parma Ham wraps followed by either Seafood Risotto, Swordfish, Duck, Sea Bass or Lamb Chops. Spoiled for - consistent - choice👍

Friendly service with no pressure and so helpful when we were seeking to adapt menu items to make them vegan/vegetarian. This possibility opened up an array of dishes and the ones we settled for were very tasty.

have been here many times for dinner and tried pizza and pasta dishes, my favourite Fegato (calves liver and onion) and I have to say overall it is a great place to eat. Basically my go-to as a local. Yes the odd issue with service when it’s busy but what establishment does not. I do not understand one star reviews or the real motivation for them based on a single visit. P.S. the red wine Salice Salantino is worth trying a it is an ongoing joke with one of my colleagues that we risk buying the place out it, though it’s never happened.

Poor service and sub standard, overpriced ‘Italian’ food.

Bank Holiday Sunday evening - the coronation concert on Memorial Fields is just ending. Given a choice between one of Godalming's many (and excellent) pubs, Cote which has terrible reviews, and a cheeky little Italian that looks empty but fills up rapidly, we go for the last. By the time we left, there were families with small children, families with big chidren, young couples, older couples and solo diners, all having a great time. The menu has abut 10 starters, 15 pasta dishes, 15 pizzas and 10 meat/fish mains. We had the penne aubergine and the spaghetti octopus (polpi). Both were delicious, and the number of octopuses in the spaghetti made it look like a remake of War of The Worlds (there were A LOT). Our starters of fried goats cheese, and mushroom mush, were also good, and the tiramisu at the end of the meal was an enormous slab of quality pud. We definitely needed two spoons. Good service, prompt and efficient, easy to pay (though no Amex), means this was a really good choice in an otherwise bistro-less town.

Great Value and Very good food. As a local resident I am aware of the shortage of decent places to eat in Godalming but this restaurant ticks so many boxes. The staff are brilliant, so helpful and friendly. The menu doesn’t seem to have changed in a long time but as they say “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. The pasta dishes are very good and excellent value as is the Montepulciano red wine. The interior is ok but not wildly exciting but if the food and service are good you tend not to worry about it. Well worth a visit

Excellent Italian. Never used before as we are not local. Walked past it one night then rang up to book for the next night. Food was exceptional. Our main coarse’s were duck and lamb. Both cooked perfectly and immensely enjoyable. Was very busy and very noisy. But would not hesitate to go again. Great food, great service and good value. Shame we don’t live in the area!

We were met by friendly staff and shown to our booked table. The drink’s order was served in a timely fashion followed by our starters which were delicious. I can recommend the goats cheese starter as well as the calamari (melt in your mouth soft). My daughters both have dairy allergies and they immediately offered vegan cheese as a replacement to dairy mozzarella. Got to love those vegans. My wife had the seafood risotto which was amazing and very tasty. I had the calzone, the best one I’ve had I a while. Desserts was amazing also and again, thanks to the vegans, they offered a chocolate fudge cake and ice cream (dairy free). The kids raved about it. Unlike some restaurants where can either not find a waiter or they hover over your table like flies, we never had to wait long before someone made eye contact from a distance to check if we needed something. What a lovely experience. Can definitely recommend them.

I was drawn in by the sign outside offering a two course lunch or one course plus drink for £12.95 which seemed exceptional value. The Seabass (a £2.50 supplement) was superb – rustic style with a sprig of oregano on top; and the house white was decent after it had had a chance to breath and lose the initial funk. The service was mediocre – the man was surly, and the girl didn't appear to speak English, as experienced by another table trying to get their extra pizza that they'd sent to be boxed returned to the table. Unfortunately when it came to the bill, I had been charged the full menu price for the food and drink. When I pointed out the mistake, the bill came back with the wine changed from small white to large red. (I'd had a large white and would have expected to pay the difference, but not a separate full price main and drink, since I'd ordered off the set menu, and the drink size was asked for when ordering). By this time my parking had expired, and I didn't have a phone signal to renew it, so left to pay at the machine while they sorted out the bill. When I returned I was presented with the same bill again. I tried to explain the issue, but the man belligerently insisted that it was correct. Although he offered to comp the meal it was done in such a negative way that it was clear that it wasn't a gracious offer. I insisted on paying, but only the correct amount, and calculated the total cost for him – £12.95 set menu, £2.50 supplement for the Seabass, £2.00 for the difference in price for the wine, plus £2.18 discretionary service charge (that really wasn't due at this point for the service received) for a total of £19.63. not the £26 bill I was originally presented with. The man wrang it up for £15 and I wasn't going to argue further, so paid and left with a sour taste from what should have been a pleasant lunch. I'm only dropping one star despite all this, as the food was excellent, but they really need to get their act together on the service. Despite the excellent food I would be reluctant to suggest it as a dinner venue due to the lack of table cloths, and cheap paper napkins. Perfectly acceptable at lunchtime, but brings the tone down on the evening. And watch your bill!

I love Italian food but the quality sadly was below expectations. Chicken breast was dry as well as the mashed potatoes and served at cool temperature. The place seems to be friendly and staff ok but will not be queuing up to eat there again soon. This is just opinion obviously, the restaurant was full and lots of families, group of friends having a lovely time same as we did but I do expect more from an authentic Italian restaurant myself

Family lunch. I had rib eye steak for lunch with pepercorn sauce. Amazing! The steak was super tender and the sauce was bursting with flavour. Yum. The best place to eat in Godalming by far.

Great family-style classic Italian with excellent food. Pizzas are thin, crisp and tasty. Mixed clientelle of families, couples and groups makes it feel friendly and relaxed. It was packed when we went. Service is great, even when busy.

Recommended by family but this was ultimately disappointing. My partners pizza was given to the table next to us, he did get another but it took a while to come. We asked for the dessert menus which were never received. We asked for the bill and we were ignored by the member of staff we asked, who repeatedly walked past us failing to act upon our request. We did manage to get the bill from another member of staff, who tapped my partners card without showing him the amount she had typed in which was slightly discourteous. The food was nice when the correct food did arrive but the service was unfortunately sub par. Having recently moved to the area, we won’t be returning in a hurry if at all.

Rather disappointing Food was ok but there was a constant flow of delivery folk to pick up takeout food Customer at the next door table was vaping - the staff did not either notice or if they did ignored it -so we just asked for the bill and left There was an unjustified discretionary 12.5% service charge in effect the prices are 12.5% more than quoted on the menu

This is a hidden gem in Godalming! We’ve been here nearly seven years and only discovered this mouth watering Italian restaurant a couple months ago, going past you may mistaken it for being part of the Hotel. Service is prompt even on the busier nights, tables are neat, people are not to close to one another and the food, THE FOOD………. I do not know where to start. Three Course is a must! Food is fresh and delicious, my mouth-waters thinking about returning. Not many restaurants in my lifetime make my sensors react just thinking about the place. Big thank you to all the front of house for the smiles and service and to the back of the house for the magic you create on a plate/bowl/dish! See you soon

Popped in for a quick lunch and the service and pizza was superb. Lovely atmosphere and really good food. This reminds me of good times in Italy. Great value too. Highly recommended.

Lovely meal, mushroom starter epic! Opted for the steak, rather than the pizza for main. Steak was great, well cooked and decent size Others thought the pizza could have been better but my meal was great Also FANTASTIC with kids

Probably the worst dining experience me and my boyfriend have had. When we arrived we asked if they take walk-ins as we had not pre-booked, the lady responded 'well yes we do but you only have an hour on a table' - not the best response In total we had 4 people serve us which didn't feel personal in anyway and very disorganised. Every table is spaced less than a foot away from the next one, paint was chipped off the walls, cobwebs on an old wooden screen divider (also hanging off the wall) and napkins which stuck to the table. We ordered a Risotto Marinara and a lasanga - The risotto rice was chewy and under cooked, and the calamari was overdone. The lasanga came BURNT with hardly any sauce, and the sheets of pasta were undercooked. The pineapple juice also came slightly warm. When we asked to pay, one waitress came over and placed the bill on the table and walked off. Another waitress came later and didn't say a word, typed in the amount and then chucked the card machiene in front of us and walked off. We paid, the waitress then came back took the card machiene away. Deffinately not going back.

Went here for my wife's birthday, but when I asked for no onions on my pizza, i was told they come pre-prepared with all the ingredients on, given that other places that sell pizza (Prezzo, Pizza Express, Domino's) in Godalming make their pizza fresh I was a little surprise Piazza Firenze don't make their food fresh. Is anything made onsite?

We came to Godalming to buy my young daughters school shoes. As she is a pizza lover and to celebrate the start of term, we decided to come to Piazza Firenze for lunch after her fitting. We had a fantastic lunch. My daughter had pizza from the kids menu which was delicious and great value for money. I had options from the set lunch menu, again, delicious, generous portions and great value. My husband had a pasta dish which he thoroughly enjoyed. Don’t bother eating at the chain restaurants in the high street, this is the best Italian in town. Thank you for a lovely lunch!

Pizza was decent. No complaints. Tiramisu was on the lower end of the scale-not so good. Most people would be happy but my mother was a chef. I’m ruined for life!

I have visited Pizza Firenze several times before and always had an excellent experience and last night was no exception. Great Italian food, great service even though it was a busy Saturday, and a very reasonable bill at the end. I’ll be back soon.
