This is the 3rd time we have tried the Lost Boy for food and sad to say we won’t be back, as it has disappointed each time. Such a shame as the place itself is lovely, has great outdoor seating and good selection of drinks but the food is awful. This time we tried a Sunday roast as had seen some good reviews but can’t understand why, the portion size if small, think I had 2 roast potatoes on the plate which were rock hard and the flattest yorkshire pudding i’ve ever seen, which was also too hard to eat. You only get 2 slices of beef on the plate and most of it was fat. We had 2 friends with us who have just moved to the area and had been hoping to find a good local pub for food but unfortunately were also not impressed with their meals. So much potential here to do well as it’s a lovely venue but please don’t waste your money on food unless they make some changes. We certainly will not be returning and neither will our friends.

Had Sunday Lunch today, belly pork, truly dreadful the chef should be ashamed. The belly pork was tasteless and the crackling soggy. The roast potatoes looked and tasted like they were days old and the carrots cooked to destruction. The best for last the coli cheese had no cheese or Dijon mustard in the bechamel which wasn't cooked enough to remove the taste of flour. A shocking effort for £23:00.I can think of a dozen places in Farnham I could have eaten better at half the price. A dreadful effort with no love of the ingredients.

We brought my mum for lunch today. We are fairly recent visitors, but she did comment how much she enjoyed her experience! Grace & Kelly looked after us very well, thank you very much. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I’ve been here before in the summer and it was quite nice to sit out in the gardens and have the pizza which was decent. I came again today and it was pretty terrible… the service was awful because they seemed to be very understaffed for the number of customers. We asked several staff members for a table of which there were plenty free just not cleaned yet. Once we finally got a table after 15 minutes of waiting we were seated at the sofas which were not ideal for dining. The chairs were too low for the tables and the dead flowers behind us were attracting a lot of fruit flies so it just wasn’t a pleasant place to be sitting. I’m sure some of the other seats there would’ve been nicer. My friend ordered the calzone and I had a chicken pasta, both dishes were extremely bland so we asked for some salt. One waitress brought over a salt shaker which turned out to be empty, I then asked for another but again it was empty. There was one nice waitress who did keep checking in on us but most of the other staff were rude and avoidant. The food was also quite overpriced for what it was and I proceeded to feel a bit sick after eating. Very disappointing!

I went on a monday night expecting it to be quite empty. It was full. The ambience is perfect. The food was also good. However, my meal came out early compared to my husband's meal where we needed to chase which was disappointing. Other than that, food was good and we had a great evening - thank you! Sharing some other dishes from a lunch that was recently had aswell.

Called in on a Tuesday for a light lunch. Virtually empty inside, a few people in the garden. We waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken. Another 20 minutes plus for our food to arrive, and so it went on. I could understand if the place had been busy, but it was far from it. Even paying the bill was problematic, with no apology for the delay. Food was OK, but service appalling.

Appallingly over priced food and drink and they lump a service charge in. Small portions, huge wait for food and stuff forgotten from order. If I could have given it 0 I would have.

Whilst the food was ok. We were not happy paying £23 service when the service just consisted of delivering the food. Many times we ran out of drinks but nobody asked if we wanted more. We were asked many times if we had ordered food we had not. All in all no service provided, what a Shame.

We were served by Bethan who was brilliant - really attentive and efficient. Food was great - totally worth the price. Lovely atmosphere both in the inside and outside areas of the restaurant. Would recommend the small plates and the harissa chicken burger!

Great spot in Farnham. The staff are friendly and the covered, outdoor space is a great spot for a gathering.

Lively and well-presented bar with large garden. Great for medium-sized gatherings. Food was nice but on the pricey side, and drinks were ok and on the very pricey side. I’d return for the location, but not necessarily for the value. Service was great all round.

Well….. where do I start!! Booked a table for our ladies group and we managed to get a lovely table out in the garden. The garden was lovely, great space and even had its own bar , wow, what a bonus! We where served mainly by 2 lovely waitresses, Hannah and another lady,( name slipped my mind, sorry) They were both very efficient and friendly and where always around when needed We were asked for drinks orders whilst we all arrived and menus given We had several nice cocktails and then ordered food; 4 pizzas and 2 roasts Everything was delicious and fresh, pizzas looked amazing and my roast was delicious, lovely homemade yorkies, asked for extra gravy with mine which was quickly sent out too We were all too full for desserts today but know to leave room next time as was very tempted Overall a great experience with great staff and fantastic food, we WILL be returning shortly, thank you to all involved

Popped in for a drink. Nice building on the outside, but considerably knocked about and modernised on the inside so has lost a lot of original atmosphere. Drinks a little expensive £16 for a small gin and tonic and a pint. The staff looked as if they were on the run down at the end of the day. (8:30 ish). Lots of used glasses on the bar and tables in need of a wipe. Would try again and perhaps experience a different side to the pub.

Beautiful building and gardens with great atmosphere and very decent food. Let down by being a little pricey for what you get and inattentive/disorganised service. The fact they've followed the trend of adding a 10% service charge to all tables regardless of size (no doubt in the hope that we're all too British to ask for it to be removed) stings twice as much as a result. While our server didn't quibble the request to have it taken off, it certainly leaves a sour taste.

My girlfriend and I recently attended the Lost Boy upon hearing several recommendations. The menu had a good variety, we selected the ham hock and garlic prawns for the two starters. Both were tasty, the garlic prawns were probably at the top of the price point deemed acceptable (slight running theme). The starters were followed by Porchetta, and my girlfriend had a mushroom chicken pasta. The porchetta was nice, as was the pasta. Service was good and the staff were pleasant. This place has good food, but it is exactly that, good. Some dishes on the menu are a tad overpriced and £7 a pint is probably the top end of what you want to pay. Nevertheless it is a pleasant establishment and I would be back.

Fancied a pint on way home. They sold beer so had one in here. Staff polite and friendly. Pub tidy and clean. Didnt expect to have to buy the brewery when i paid for a guinness but suppose thats getting normal now.

We called in without a reservation and were warmly welcomed and seated without any fuss. The waitress was attentive and was very efficient. There was a good selection of cuisines and the pizzas were freshly prepared and portion sizes were excellent. Price was reasonable and the food was served hot and promptly. There is a garden which is well appointed and would be pleasant for al-fresco dining. Would happily return when I next visit Farnham.

Actually decided to go here after googling pubs not showing the football. Unfortunately for google, this isn't really a pub - much more a restaurant. Having said that, we did have a drink and the Guinness was not bad and the London Pride was very acceptable as well. The staff were polite and friendly.

This is the second time we have been in the last month and both times have been so disappointing. This place has all the right aesthetics to make it great, yet it seems to always fall short on the service side. After ordering drinks, one of the beers arrived with black bits around the entire rim of the glass. I kindly said to the manager, who was walking past at that time, oh do you mind swapping this out as it’s dirty around the top of the glass. He rolled his eyes and said that it was just the water they wash it with (worrying), either way I expect a clean glass when ordering a drink. He didn’t apologise and made me feel like it was my fault for being fussy that my glass was dirty. Very odd. On the last two occasions I have visited, each time, half of the food has been delivered with various apologies oh why the other half is delayed. Today we ordered 3x pizzas and then a salad and fries to accompany the pizzas. The salad and fries arrived 20 minutes after the pizzas, which by that time we had finished. They took the salad and fries off the bill. It’s a shame as the pizzas were tasty. Our waiter was apologetic, but gave us excuses and reasons to why our food wasn’t ready. I said that we had same thing happened 2 weeks prior. He then said oh yes we were short staffed 2 weeks ago and that everyone is new and in training. Not really what you want to hear. We also heard a couple of other tables complaining around us about various things, food being delayed, drinks being delayed.

We booked very last minute (2 hours before) & when we arrived they had a terrible water leak all over the indoor restaurant floor, we had to walk all around the front to get to the garden area passing men working on sewers so not nice. This had clearly been a problem during the morning & yet no one informed us this was the case. Service was slow, I appreciate it was Fathering Sunday but they should have been prepared for this. I actually felt they should have closed down, not the most hygienic having work done on sewers whilst people dined albeit 10 metres away. For the high prices I would expect exceptional service, our food order was wrong, the starter arrived with main course but we’d waited so long so just accepted it. The staff were clearly rushed off their feet which I don’t feel is their fault, management should have taken control. Then a senior staff member came out & barked so rudely & unprofessionally at the young waiters in front of customers it made us feel embarrassed for the waiters. Our food was not even cleared away from the table at any point, we even stayed for a coffee & not cleared. The food was delicious but I won’t be visiting again. I understand it was a difficult day & everyone under stress but in reality they should not have taken our booking if they were too pushed due to the emergency. There has to be consideration to their staff & building limitations rather than just keep bringing in the cash.

A relaxing evening with my wife & son. Great service (from Bethan). Enjoyed the food beer and wine. Food was OK. Staff happy to move us from a cold area to a warmer spot.

Top for a restaurant in a town in England... we were 4 people... some pizza, some fish, some meat... we were all satisfied... we will be back

Yeah alright. Nice looking pub. Bar pretty small for the amount of covers. Fair selection of drinks. Staff friendly enough but in no rush to get the drinks to you. Lovely outside when the sun decides to show its face. Or lovely if you enjoy sitting in the rain actually.

This was a really poor experience. We left before we could even eat our mains as we waited for 1 hour and 30 mins and it was not even busy ! I found the staff quite rude and we were literally ignored by them even after waiting as long as we did. My 19 year old daughter was treated like a 15 yr old after asking for a glass of wine. They said she could have a “small one”. All around bad, good for just drinks but the service was terrible.

We were seated in the pretty conservatory and enjoyed a delicious meal with friendly service. I particularly appreciated my Sticky Toffee pudding, I had a salad for my main course so I was allowed!

Good pizza, good beer, lovely staff. Only marking it down a bit as they were busy and a couple of our drinks got forgotten about, but it wasn't an issue. Great place to head if you're in Farnham

Boy. You are so Lost… did not even make it to the food stage. No waiter ever arrived. So we left.

Last 6 months has seen a huge improvement in quality of food over a year ago. Portions seems bigger and much much better. With that, it's also got much busier, so service at the bar can be slow, and often fully booked.

I went for lunch on a sunny day and sat outside everything was great the food was nice and everything was a fair price. only negative is 1 dish came before the other 2 and there was a wait

'Hannah was an absolute dream waitress from start to finish - as our table had lots of allergies , she had gone through the menu beforehand to help with what would be most preferable- checked with chefs to suit our needs & even had a starter amended for my mum! she checked in throughout the entirety of the meal and made our dining experience Uber enjoyable! Having worked in hospitality before - I understand how full on it can be , especially on a Sunday lunchtime! so a massive thank you to Hannah for making our lunch so much fun! would definitely come back purely just from the service provided!! side note - food was absolutely superb and the best roast I’ve had in a while!

Nice location, adjacent car park, not expensive. Service very good, polite and efficient. Food was OK, we had brunch , bacon, egg and advocado was good, toast was a bit dry and crunchy. Coffee was excellent.

Had a lovely lunch here with some, lady friends. The food was gorgeous. We had to ask for some things (water, spoons and condiments) several times before getting them.

Poor service, dirty table wasn’t cleaned. Shame cause the last time we came was great. They do do a good Irish coffee and the scotch egg is delicious

Popped in for lunch yesterday on a whim. I ordered the poached eggs avocado and sour dough toast. I asked for my eggs very well done and the avocado without the pesto etc actual put on it. And no olive oil. It arrived with 2 runny eggs and a bowl full of hard avocado chunks covered in pesto and olive oil. They redid the eggs and brought a bowl of rock hard unripe avocados all brown at the edges as if they had been cut up yesterday. Couldn’t even cut them with a knife never mind eat them. I was told they were today’s delivery and fresh. Oh yeah?? They replaced my awful meal with a salad which consisted of literally ONE lettuce leaf, some rocket, some shop bought hummus, some slimy chunks of sweet potato and some dry couscous with minute red dots of tomato and green dots of parsley. No lemon juice or anything. Just dry. And obviously I told them to forget the avocado on it. The best thing about this meal was the hummus. Probably from Waitrose. They didn’t charge us for my food and we wouldn’t have paid for it anyway. What planet is your chef on? Who serves rock hard chunks (not even slices) of unripe avocados? The waitress said she told him to cook my eggs well not runny. The presentation was appalling. My husband’s meal of fish and chips was fine fortunately. We have eaten there a few times and there is always a problem of some sort. On Mother’s Day I gave the bar a recipe for my favourite cocktail. Only 4 ingredients and they’ve made it before for me. This one had something else in it that made it undrinkable. We love the pub but until you get a competent chef we won’t be eating there again. Interesting to see similar reviews as well so I know I am not the only one!!

a late lunch with 3 adults and 2 kids. really nice venue, polite & helpful staff and the food was good. Would defintely re-visit in the future

Been here a few times as it's a nice place, nice atmosphere and it's convenient. But the experience yesterday was again one of slow service, mediocre food, key items missing off the menu and after all that a jaw dropping bill at the end. Hope they raise their game soon.

I visited The Lost Boy this week for the first time. I ordered the Veggie breakfast and my partner ordered the avocado and eggs. The avocado on both our dishes were brown in colour and didn’t taste good at all. When I raised this with the waitress, she told me they had a pesto sauce on them and this is what had caused the colour, even though I had said, they tasted like they had gone bad, not like pesto. The waitress was quite defensive and argumentative with me, telling me it was the pesto and the avocados were not bad. She offered that the dishes could be made again, when she returned them the avocados had been replaced with ripe ones (with our request of no pesto on them).. maybe they just keep the bad avocados for this sauce so they can blame the colour for this, who knows…!? The eggs were flavourless and not very well, no seasoning and the orange juice was not fresh tasted like cheap concentrated juice which we paid £4 for. Overall.. It’s just very overpriced food for what you get. I won’t be returning here unfortunately, the venue itself is really nice, just the food and defensive staff ruin the experience.

Let me be clear.i know my food and not all fussy generally...but..Stay away from this place.i took my girlfriend here for valentine dinner.she ordered beef Wellington I ordered fish.we had no starters.the food arrived an hour and five minutes later.the beef Wellington pastry was dry and very soggy underneath..NOT pastry texture..the pancetta inside was tasteless and there was no mushroom duxelle rhat is part of the dish and the veg soggy chewy.the beef looked like pork..Grey stringy and horrible texture.my fish was dry and like rubber..potatoes were 2 day old reheated microwaved and every single item on both plates totally tasteless.the wine was house wine and was like drinking acid..cheap and horrible..it was bloody disgusting and a major disappointed for my girlfriend who was really looking forward to a decent night out with good food..I'm warning anyone who reads this..DONT waste your time going to this awful place.and by the way we were there very early with about 4 tables occupied and it took over an hour for our food to come..MAJOR LETDOWN. I paid for the 1/4 of the plate of fish I ate and the drinks.im so disappointed with myself I even paid for that.

The pub is beautiful. The servers are brilliant and very helpful. The food is served quickly, I had the Calzone with a side serving of cold tomato puree don't make this mistake please! My friend had beef bourguignon served in a cold skillet. Apparently tomato puree and limited heat are the main ingredients of both of these dishes with very little of anything else. I would say please get a Chef that knows how to cook food.

Went there yesterday. No beers on tap (just lager). Then charged service on bill though we bought all drinks at the bar. You did take service off when requested but all a bit strange really

Very dissapointing as on arrival we were informed that a number of items on the menu weren't available. Especially frustrating that one was my wife's preferred favourite on her birthday. When dessert arrived it was incomplete as not all ingredients were available!! Firtunately a discount was applied to our bill. Our choice of food although limited was very good. Not sure the application if a 10% service charge without consultation was helpful considering our experience and the reduced menu. Oh well......

Came here for brunch for two adults and two children. We sat in the bar as we didn’t have a reservation and ordered at the bar. Food came very quickly however 3 out of 4 food orders were wrong. When the boys pancakes came back they were STILL missing the honey and granola. My food was replaced quickly as it was missing salmon, so they just added this on. It was tasty but cold. The children had to wait for their new food which was annoying as keeping hungry 4 year olds busy whilst we had our food was challenging. As we had paid at the bar no one came and ask if our meals were okay. Disappointing experience as I have been before and food is usually very good.

It was OK had Sunday lunch thought it's was expensive for what you got the 6 bells do a better selection, would go back mat be choice something different, they have a good selection on the menu

Can’t fault the waiting staff as they were all friendly and attentive, but sadly the food was nothing special. Ordered a pizza which had so much cheese on, it congealed into a hard layer as the pizza cooled making it unpleasant to eat. The chicken on the pizza was also grey and had quite a bit of gristle. The worst part was they added a 10% service charge onto the bill which I thought was cheeky. It should be at the discretion of the customer whether they tip and how much they tip. Should have asked for it to be removed, but this would have been awkward and embarrassing, so left it on and paid it.

Thank you for a great roast dinner this lunchtime. The food was amazing and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff really looked after us, especially Cat, who served us, and made sure our visit was a good one. Definitely be back!!

What a lovely quaint pub! I'm visiting friends in the area and we came here for Sunday lunch. As soon as we walked in it had a lovely warm atmosphere. Ordered the roast and it was very tasty, just the right size. Our waitress Kat was wonderful and incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the food as we had a couple of questions about the ingredients. I always need more gravy whenever I have a roast and she brought me some over in record time! Overall a great afternoon spent there and will definitely be back soon!

I had a lovely roast dinner here. Catriona the waitress was brilliant. She sat us down and got us drinks immediately and was always keeping an eye out for our needs. The food was ordered and served quickly and gave us extra gravy very promptly when asked. As soon as we finished the plates were cleared and onto the puddings. It was a very memorable experience and I have recommended it to a lot of my friends and family. Will definitely be coming back. Thankyou to the chef and Catriona for making it a very enjoyable experience.

Food was actually quite goodish but probably not good enough. The team worked hard to assist but its a good example of a venue stuck in the concept of trying to make money. This venue isn't sure if its a pub or a restaurant. It should be the latter if it had any sense but it holds onto the dizzy beer crowd and thus fails dreadfully. The effort to try to host the front as a bar doesn't work, there is a constant queue of annoyed punters trying to buy a drink. Meanwhile the rest of the venue hosts an ad hoc comfort food/burger bar at £19 a go. This used to be a fish restaurant and worked far better in a market town once full of wealthy types but now populated by not quite so well heeled groups. Perhaps its a sign of the times but ultimately if you go here hold your breath and hope for the best. £80 for 2 of us wasn't great, flat prosecco, because they had barman pouring it in to small measures! Doh!! wasn't ideal. This was sorted to credit where its due. But, as I said the food was good but the ambience of screeching late 20 somethings and unhappy toddlers out after their bedtime wasn't really desirable. It just needs some sensible management and properly trained staff and it might find its feet. Go here if you like comfort food and are hosting a big group on the company, swerve it if you want some style and a sense of occasion, its far from offering either.

Christmas Day lunch was shocking at £95 a head for adults and £45 per head for children. None of us ate the slops that were put in front of us !! If you can’t find a decent chef don’t open find one that can at least cook !! Never will I go in there again total chaos!

Used to be a regular haunt of ours when the fantsatic manageress was in charge but this was poor this lunchtime. Girl behind the bar didn't know the menu, poured a Guinness with a 2" head on it and the service from there on was dreadful. Maybe it was because we didn't eat in the main dining area but the food was chucked on the plate, had to ask for relishes, not once was there any interaction after ordering and even when we left, no atmosphere either. I think this establishment lives on its summer garden trade - wouldn't go to eat again. Plenty of other places to pay £60 for a drink each and a main.

Hannah who served us was BRILLIANT, upbeat and efficient despite a very busy restaurant. She was just let down with the kitchen being seemingly overwhelmed with orders, our main courses came at different times and was poor quality in presentation and taste. Not quite the premium position it markets itself as (and used to be) unfortunately. Hannah was 5*, the restaurant just let her down. Hope it improves soon.

Absolutely fantastic Christmas Day lunch today, they made it so special and the staff are extremely attentive and all so lovely, couldn’t fault a thing! We’ve only been here twice but we will be coming back for our Sunday lunches! Thanks for making our Christmas

Had breakfast birthday for 6, cold drinks arrived ok, after half an hour had to ask where our hot drinks were, when they arrived they were Luke warm going on cold, when our meals arrived, the full English breakfast was disappointing, the mushrooms were stone cold, beans like warm, in fact the whole meal was really not up to standard, and very overpriced, we have eaten breakfast at the queens head, far superior breakfast, hot, serviice better, and less expensive recommend or return, afraid not.

Went for a sunday lunch on the day of the xmas market so very hectic in town. I had the beef which was good, nice and rare as I had asked, and my brother had the roast chicken. Meals were a bit on the skimpy size but I think they would have brought more potatoes and veg if we had asked. We did have extra gravy. However, the roast chicken was pink inside. When we raised it with the waitress she referred it to the kitchen and to be fair they removed it from the bill and offered complimentary desserts . We opted for coffees. A special thank you and reference to Eris the waitress who was exceptionally courteous and helpful. A credit to her and the restaurant for dealing with the issue fairly.

Visited here for a festive meal. Food was plentiful and delicious and the service was also excellent. We will be sure to come back again soon!

Pleasant night out with the co workers. Will be returning. Friendly servers and quality food. Had the house burger - which came promptly.

Lovely food and great staff, great place to go before the Maltings for a show

The pub very kindly allowed us into the bar with our dogs. I thought the.food pricey for what was served and my bruschetta bread was so hard I couldn't cut it with my knife and fork and had to tear it to be able to eat it. I also think the description on the menu was better than the actual meal. However the garlic pizza like bread was delicious. The place was busy as there was a market on behind it but maybe if I go back and pick something else I may be pleasantly surprised.

Excellent Christmas party here, function room beautifully set up for us. Ordered drinks for arrival which were all waiting for us ready. Food portions amazing and service even better. Eris is a credit to your team and we will definitely come back next year. Thank you again

Booked the function room for my daughter’s 30th party in August. The room was the perfect size for about 40 guests and we were allowed in earlier in the day to decorate it. The staff were friendly and efficient and couldn’t do enough for us, especially Keris. Decided to book our work’s Christmas party there too and we weren’t disappointed. The food was excellent and yet again the service from the staff was superb. Fortunately for us Keris was also working that night and, true to form, was brilliant, efficient, friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Very good service very friendly and attentive, but not too attentive. It was a Tuesday night so lacking in noise and crowds but the company I was with were great. Lovely venue.

Lovely place, great atmosphere. Food was great generally though those that had pizza were not impressed with the way it was cooked. Service was slow but very friendly and welcoming. Would return in future

We were most impressed with the meals we ordered, all cooked with fresh produce which everyone enjoyed Service was just a nightmare Wrong drinks were bought to our table twice! when our main course was served we pointed out we did not have knifes and forks at some of the place settings. After waiting 5 minutes one of our party walked around the restaurant and took pace settings from other tables so we could start eating They attempted to charge for drinks we did not have What a pity as their food is really rather good, just did not enjoy the experience

Did brunch here. The furniture was rather badly stained. Some of the cutlery was not terribly clean....and I thought the whole place really needed a good clean. The food was OK but mine was not terribly warm and service was slow. Also giving someone a cup of off-hot water and a tea bag is a really bad way to serve a cup of tea. It's not rocket science. It could be good with some TLC
