Ask Italian in Waverley

We have been visiting ASK for many years and went back for a quick evening meal. Not many people but it soon got busier. The lemonade shot was a surprise and the menu was varied with some firm favourites. The pasta portion was a little small and the vegetarian pizza was remade as it was meat. Still a firm favourite place with good service.

Very disappointing night indeed. The staff were very inattentive, all stood around chatting and on phones while multiple tables were needing to either settle or order. Additionally, above our table one of the lights was faulty and we had flickering lighting throughout our night which really ruins a dining experience. The quality of the food I would describe as average at best which is a shame because some good food could’ve saved the night.

We had an excellent meal last night at ASK Haslemere. The service was quick, staff were very helpful, it was altogether a very pleasant evening celebrating a family birthday

I visited Ask Italian Haslemere restaurant on Monday 2nd of September. I had a fabulous experience as I have a few allergens it’s always a struggle for me to eat out . Melinda the manager was taking my order she was making sure all ingredients was gluten free on my pizza I felt extremely looked after . The restaurant was super busy at time we arrived I haven’t made any reservations but we still got a table. They looked pretty short staffed but the service we gotten it was incredible. Food was amazing there was no delay whatsoever. I can not wait to be back soon loved the experience.

We just got turned away for a table of 2 at 2pm on a Monday. The restaurant had lots of tables available with mainly people leaving but the manager was quite to turn us round, we couldn’t have lunch there as they’ve been really busy today and they need their breaks. Surprised that they are scheduling breaks @ 2 which is still lunch time but also they’ve only been opened since 11:30… how exhausted can they be? It’s horrid to be turned away at best of times, was with my niece also who was disappointed and esp frustrating when they advertise all day menu & there are loads of tables. I think it was quite obnoxious to turn paying customers away on these circumstances, will not go back but worked out nicely as we had an amazing lunch in an independent cafe round the corner whom were also still very busy but happy to accommodate me

A delightful experience- the servers were lovely and very accommodating. Two of our party wanted to share a dish, and without asking they split it into two dishes for us. One of our party had an allergy and they went above and beyond to make sure she was safe and having an enjoyable time. The food was delicious and the restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. Overall a we had a brilliant time and would return

Very good, friendly service and lovely food

Went out with family for early lunch, nice and quiet atmosphere. Good service! Went for the Small Calamari as a starter, was really good and first time having squid. Then had the Gnocchi Arrabbiata for the main. It had a red pepper, tomato sauce with a slight chilli kick… Would recommend 7/10

Staff were friendly although service was a bit slow and trying to get their attention was difficult. Starters were really tasty and the mains were nice except for far too many bland potatoes with the sea bass. My daughter had a side dish which was supposed to be roast potatoes with cheese, ham etc. Lots of bland new potatoes and little of anything else. So had a nice time but probably wouldn't go back.

My friend and I are regulars at this restaurant and come here to celebrate birthdays and occasions every year. Having recently been diagnosed with some allergies I was a little apprehensive. However it was a brilliant experience, food was excellent and Harry who looked after us while here, was very accommodating and reassuring that all my foods were allergen free based on what I had chosen and will admit did enjoy the stickers that come out with the dishes. 10/10 experience.

I held my 6th years old son's birthday party here. It was a "make your own pizza" kids party and the kids absolutely loved it. Everything was organised really well, despite the frantic kids, and the staff Daisy and Agnuja were absolutely fantastic!!! Highly recommended!

We had a lovely meal, all the food was really tasty and the chef adapted a couple of the meals for one member of the party who was both gluten and dairy free. They were very accommodating and couldn’t be more helpful. Great attentive service - thank you! We will be back.

Good atmosphere, surroundings, service and food. What’s not to like?

First visit here with girlfriends for a catch up. Lovely friendly staff. Great food, relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely be choosing this Italian in Haslemere next time.

### Very Negative Review of Ask Italian Haslemere As a former head chef of one of the Ask Italian restaurants, I decided to take my family to Ask Haslemere today, and it was the worst decision I could have made! The food was terrible. The pizza, which should have been large, was actually small with barely any toppings on it! We ordered a starter, which was okay, but the main courses – 2x Pizza Misti and 2x Calzone – were disastrous! The chef used the ingredients meant for one pizza to make two! The size, which should have filled the entire rectangular plate or board, was about a third smaller! The Calzone came without any salad! Then came the time for dessert! The portions were very small, half the size they used to be! The waitress brought the chocolate bomb dessert with ice cream inside and poured cold caramel over it instead of hot, so the chocolate didn’t melt! It showed a complete lack of experience. The menu was literally thrown onto a dirty table full of plates and glasses, which hadn’t been cleared after the main course. Overall, it was a horrible experience compared to other Ask Italian locations! When I think back to the service at Guildford seven years ago, Haslemere doesn’t even have 10% of that level of service! It’s a shame, because neither I nor my friends will be setting foot there again! The bill was over £140, yet we felt worse than we would at McDonald’s! I really wonder why people even come here!

Food was decent, wouldn't go as far as to say as good as authentic Italian but it was very for a chain restaurant overall I had a good time and received very good service.

Wonderful atmosphere, professional and friendly staff. We had the Italian olives, Folded garlic bread with mozzarella, Caesar di grande, Calzone carne piccante with a glass of red and a beer. We thoroughly enjoyed them all!

Excellent value and freshly cooked. Would recommend Could have more toppings on pizza - but stingy but tasted good :)

I ordered the Garlic King Prawn Prima Pizza and was more than a little disappointed to find some of the prawns were dirty (still contained their intestines full of matter)! I brought this to the attention of the waitress who, instead of offering to replace the three dirty prawns, told me that’s how they are received by the restaurant! We do not eat out very often as it is costly, so this was a real treat somewhat spoilt.

Lovely food but a bit expensive.

Understaffed resulting in very slow service. Undercooked food and a 90 quid bill for 3 pizzas, a bowl of pasta, 4 soft drinks and 2 starters.

Staff did really well - despite a power cut. They kept communicating what was going on and were apologetic. Well done!

Harry was the host with the most. Lovely banter that made it a pleasure to be at the Ask restaurant Haselmere. The salad was amazing as well. Thank you for a lovely Friday afternoon.

Khalil the chef paid extra attention to my additional requests and made the effort to come to our table to ensure everything was as i had requested. Went with my 7 y/o. Server (i didnt catch the name vut we went at 6.20pm and sat outside if that helps identify!) was a lovely man and very helpful, friendly, welcoming and deserves a pay rise!!!!. Food was lovely too. Will 100% be back.

7 of us had a meal last night. All food very good. Pizza, pasta, salad, etc all nicely served. We tried one of the new pizzas from the spring menu, very tasty. The 2 guys serving were completely run off their feet as they were alone in a busy restaurant so they coped really really well, please make sure you recognise their hard work in some way.

Food was as expected. Service was exemplary, a little noisy when busy.

Chef Khalil in Haslemere did a wonderful job - I asked for just prawns rather than any other seafood in my pasta with tomato sauce and he added plenty of chilli to it - just delicious thank you ! 😋

Booked this restaurant for our daughter's birthday meal, accompanied by godparents. Greeted by friendly staff (Freddie and Daisy) who were absolutely brilliant for the whole evening. Great extensive menu with something for everyone. Drinks delivered quickly and the food served at the right time and very tasty. We enjoyed a relaxed 3 hours, eating, drinking and making merry. Based on tonight's experience we will definitely return!

Pizzas and calzone were a bit small. Service could have been quicker considering it was mostly empty. Quite echo-y and bright.

It was a Saturday afternoon; and Despite having Valentines Offers pre-Valentines! there was Only 1 person serving!! Only 1 chef too!! The food took forever to come!! "Nothing to write home about"! However, I must Recommend Harry who was delightful, hardworking & singlehandedly ran the restaurant!

The manager is behaving very bad and rude,very disappointing,and the amount of waiting time was too long,while the place was not busy at all !

Amazing spontaneous evening ! With an Allergy (anaphylaxis) finding places to eat with confidence is hard. This place made me feel so at ease talked me through it all in a subtle way. Never felt like I was a burden or annoyance.

Harry at Ask Italian was amazing, we had our three kids with us which you can imagine can be a handful and Harry was absolutely amazing with them and was kind enough to support our needs. Also good sense of humour I will give him.

Chose to visit the Haslemere Ask after recommendation.. Lots of vegan options. The service was great, Daisy and Sam were excellent and the sticky toffee pudding was the perfect finish! Will visit again.

All the staff were really nice. Food came fairly quickly and tasted amazing!

Mushrooms arrived without the garlic mayo! When we asked for it, we were told it was inside the mushrooms!!! New chicken dish, upon arrival was minus the pancetta and mushrooms. REALLY need to up their game 😳

Brilliant all round. The new-to-menu sundae with honeycomb was excellent.

We were really struck by the friendly and warm reception from the staff, especially from the acting manager. We were a table with two young children and a great grandpa in a wheelchair. Our needs were met without delay and with a smile! The food was absolutely delicious, and we all prepared raspberry lemonade after being treated to testers on the table
