Zizi Resorante in Waverley

Myself and a colleague took a disabled young adult out for lunch. It was a great experience for them. The food was lovely. Calm atmosphere. And staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Thank you.

Do not go here unless you wanting other than Pizza. We were with a stag group and everyone ordered pizza but me, I ordered a chicken dish and when it arrived the chicken was as cold as ice. Asked for it to be sent back to the kitchen and the so called chef gave the most dirtiest of looks. I was told by the manager that I would get a fresh order. Well, the meal that came back was not “fresh” they had shredded the 2 whole breasts and when it came back out the chicken was as dry as a nuns (if you know what I mean). While this was going on I asked for some jugs of water to be brought to the table of 9, the manager returned with 2 steel jugs of warm tap water, WARM well more like it had just been poured out from the hot tap, when asked for some fresh cold water he returned with the same 2 jugs of warm water but with a few ice cubes. I called the manager back over and told him and he was less than apologetic, so I demanded that the meal be taken off my bill. Do NOT eat here, it is not going to be an enjoyable experience.

Was here for dinner last night, took my little one to the Loo while washing our hands, see a lady come out from the loo walking out straight and not washing her hands (Yukky but not my business) now we at the table ready to order and it's the same woman serving us. Not good 😕

The food was disappointing, calamari were reconstituted, rubbery sticks and the pizzas were flat breads with bland toppings. Staff were rude too. So all in all it was a really disappointing experience for a birthday meal costing £170 for 5 people and certainly won’t be returning.

We have been here on a number of occasions, and it is always good and consistent, very handy for G-Live, as it’s 3 minutes away,staff work incredibly hard but are always helpful.

After ordering mains they arrived at different times, and sadly my pasta dish was served with raw pasta which was dried as it crunched when I went to eat it. When I asked for the meal to be changed you can tell the waiter didn’t appreciate it, to the point when our table waiter bothered to check on us he found my dish was being replaced. Food was bland and one of the guests rainbow vegetarian lasagne was swimming in grease and left half of it. After all of that the staff still had the nerve to ask shall I add a 10% tip to the bill and was surprised when I said no.

Terrible visit- We arrived approx 15 mins early for our booked slots for our teenage daughter’s birthday meal with 5 friends. 2 tables, 1 for them, 1 for 3 of us. Slot was 1.5 hours, which was stated to us (strangely) by phone call then also as we entered. Rude staff, rushed us, kept pushing us to hurry up.. even though we had completely finished our meals within an hour- hard not to due to the constant pressure, they were insistent that they needed the big table asap, in a half full restaurant. I would understand if we had been there for hours, or been a nuisance but we hadnt and it wasnt cheap, paying for 9 people to eat there! It was the most bizarre dining experience ever. There was also a very frosty energy amongst the staff, a lot of tension. Unhygienic practices- dirty hands all over cheese which was then grated over our dinners and the water bottles look like toilet brush holders. When it came to paying, they sneakily tried to add an extra tip on the card reader, but luckily we noticed! Once we left- we stood outside for a long time waiting for our guests to be collected but no one else went in for this apparent table booking. Horrible experience, will never go to this Zizzi again and it is a shame as it used to be so good!!

I normally love Zizzi and am a frequent visitor but had a very poor meal here yesterday. They got the order wrong, food was cold but the worst thing was that the portions were absolutely tiny. I’ve ordered the same meal before and it was at least 3 times smaller than it should have been. It was also noticeable that the portion they first brought (with goats cheese added which I hadn’t ordered) was a fair amount bigger than the replacement so I can only imagine that they were running out of the ingredients maybe? I felt a bit like I was being punished for their mistake though! Very disappointing and has put me off.

So I've eaten in many a Zizzi and never left a review so I thought I'd kick off with this branch. Food is always good and the service and staff have always been polite and friendly. I attended on New Years day with my partner to line our stomachs after a heavy nights drinking. My partner being celiac and vegan usually struggles to get a decent meal in high street or independent restaurants for that matter but Zizzi has it covered. Gluten free vegan pizza + the vegan torte = one happy wife! Myself not having any dietary requirements indulged in a mountain of gluten including the mozzarella and balsamic garlic bread (which is incredible may I add) and a pizza! All really good, our plates were clear after each course!

Went to this fantastic restaurant in December,very welcoming by a member of staff i believed was called Katie,she was nice and looked after me and my family very well will difinetly be coming back again as the food was good too.

Visited New Year’s Day, feeling a bit worse for wear. Was seated very quickly and had a lovely waitress (Katie). She was very helpful and attentive and even suggested what was good on the menu. Food was nice and served quickly. Left very happy and I will return as the service was great and felt very welcome.

Visited in a group of 18. We had ordered in advance but one or two of us still had to wait a while for the food to arrive. Apart from that though the service was excellent and the food good.

Probably one of my favourite place to eat. The standard of food and service is excellent. Love their pizza and Calamari.

Zizzi in Guildford is located in the perfect spot for g live only a 2 min walk . The food was excellent I had meat balls for starts and a pasta dish with chicken and pancetta which was very tasty. Book as this gets very busy on g live days

Met with three friends for a reasonably priced meal and catch-up. We visited on a weekday evening around 6.30pm, and it was fairly quiet which was great for us as we wanted to chat and not to be rushed! - have been here before on a Friday and Saturday night when it get really busy and quite noisy. The food arrived without too much of a wait and was good value for money (although one of my friend's choices was unavailable, despite it being early evening). I was very happy with my food, and the service we received.

Was very disappointed about our visit. The staff were helpful but I was served cold seafood risotto and when I ordered coconut ice cream they bought up chocolate. When I told them I ordered coconut they said they had ran out. So you don’t give people a choice anymore you serve up what you think they like. Sorry won’t be going back. Head office take note appalling.

Was lovely, zeze is great. Went with my girls had a nice relaxing evening in a nice atmosphere. Just was very slow service, waited 40 mins for our starters to come. Kodak .

Went there with 3 other people prior to going to a show at GLive. Had already booked - so no problem when we arrived.The service was good and food up to standardThe only downside was the noise. With wooden flooring it was somewhat difficult to hold a conversation.

Went here for a birthday meal with friends and loved every second. Service from Chris was faultless and food was lovely. I will definitely be returning again soon.

After night was ruined by The Jetty Guildford opposite we went here instead. Service and food great. Waiter so friendly and helpful. Well done Zizzi on getting it right. You could teach The Jetty a few lessons on customer service : )

Visited Zizzi for an early dinner today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. We had olives and caprese salad to start and then I had a margarita pizza and my husband the pulled pork pizza. Amazing. I am a bit of a pizza snob and this was up there in my top 3. Cooked to perfection, tasty and flavoursome. Good value for money. Recommended.

Popped in here for a quick evening meal prior to visiting the local theatre. Contrary to the recent reviews I found Zizi’s to be quite pleasant. Service was prompt, staff polite and the food was good. Not a bad place if you like Italian food. No complaints about my visit..

Was left waiting at the door for 10 minutes before a waiter told me *you'll have to speak to him, as I dont have time*

This was the first time I’ve been to this Zizzi location but I went as the menu suits everyone and you’re normally walking away happy. This however was not the case.

we went with friends early evening before going to a concert at nearby G-live, so we chose it for it's convenience. Was not busy and at first everything went smoothly. We went for the pasta dishes and I thought the portions were small - and I'm not a big eater.

This is the third time in a row this has been rubbish & the last time we're going back. The menu looks amazing but nothing comes out as it's supposed to & none of the staff care. We ordered 3 pizzas & I had the tagliatelli special. 1 of the pizzas was dry with hardly any topping, one didn't come with the extras ordered & the pasta was uncooked & a claggy mess. We didn't get to report it as no one asked if the food was ok. We were offered desserts but purposefully ordered the ones photographed in the menu to compare with how it turned up. The brownie we ordered looked disgusting & when we pointed out the difference to the waiter he snatched it away without a word & came back with it 30 seconds later with a sprinkle of white chocolate mmmmm. All in all it was terrible service & below average food. Both Zizzi & Ask both suffering from badly trained poorly paid staff. Pizza Express better or try the Independents like Shardana, Positano or Olivio slightly more expensive but worth it.

First off told I didn't have a table booked and was told to go away, only then to be told they do! And now for the food!, I've been to zizis many times and it always been pretty good, this time however all I can say it's no wonder these types of chains are going out of business! Food was the worse I've had in any restaurant in years and I've been to some bad ones. I'll be surprised if this chain is still open in 9 months.

Visited twice and the first time I ordered gluten free pizza and they told me they only have pasta, so I settled for pasta!! I go back again to be told they have no gluten free pizza or pasta so I left!! Not great when the only reason why you visited was for the gluten free menu!! Also there was not enough staff working!!!

Time I eat, equals to the time I wait for the bill or for waiter to take my order. Sadly, that’s how it works here, especially when it’s busy.

The service was very bad the waiter took long time for our food order. I asked if I can have my food take way as it too much he said they can’t do pasta take way. We asked if I could add 2 people in our table they not.. food was delicious but the service very bad

Ce restaurant de chaîne fait une cuisine italienne très correcte. Cet établissement est, par contre, particulièrement sonore et l'ambiance très bruyante est peu propice à la conversation. Le personnel est charmant et très à l'écoute.

Perfect for a meal before going to Glive. We always book as have been turned away in the past as they have been full. Really good meal and they can accommodate just about any dietary requirements. Wine list is good. Very friendly service.

Throughly enjoyed the starters and desserts but I felt the main courses fell short, the kids enjoyed the kids menu good value and have always enjoyed coming here for a special treat

visited zizzi on a Saturday as I received a voucher . once I showed my voucher they explained that this restaurant does not accept it .even though it was a offer for zizzi restaurants after a 10min discussion and we wherent getting anywhere felt a little annoyed but as we where hungry we stayed on to have dinner . overal staff wherent helpful with this issue won't be visiting any zizzi restaurants again .

Went here with a friend as a quick meal before a concert and was pleasantly surprised. Ordered the summer special of crab cannelloni and it wasn't bad. Didn't taste that fresh, but was tasty. The price was made even better by a hefty student discount.

Making a reservation on line was apparently a waste of time, we were met at the door by "I'm in a hurry employee" who was not interested in our reservation information and clearly needed us to sit at wherever he felt was appropriate before he flounced off to do something else. Noisy, clearly had been busy as there was much clearing of tables and counting of tip pool. Perhaps we expected too much in terms of needing a less mechanical type of service with some warmth, flare and sense of being not yet another table to serve before closing time. Should have read beforehand about the comments on the lamb shank from other reviewers. Food was nothing special, prawn zucchini bites were very oily. Had never patronized this brand before and won't again.

Right at the top of the High Street, it was easy to find, and useful to know about the free parking after 6pm. The food was good and it is great to know that you can rely on the quality of some restaurant groups. My wife had calzone spinaci and I had Rust Pulled Pork - both good choices.

Always fabulous food and atmosphere at Zizzi, Guildford, and arguably the best garlic bread ever. Friendly, helpful and fast service from our great waiter, Dawid. Can't wait to dine here again soon.

We had a delicious meal at Zizzi the other week. The service was fantastic, in particular Emanuele was friendly and attentive throughout the evening. The pizza's were so yummy and we loved our desserts...the salted caramel brownie was incredible, and the Tiramisu was, as always, great!! Been here a few times and always been more than happy with the food and service. Thank you!!

We are regular Prezzo goers but unfortunately that restaurant has closed in Guildford. Next door is Zizzis and my wife and I visited on a busy Thursday evening. The young lady confirmed we could use a Tastecard but said she would need to see if there was space for us at this popular restaurant. There was and the service and food were great. Zizzis gives us further options in the future. Well worth a visit.

Decided to go to Zizzi's with friends as had birthday voucher for free Prosecco and main course. Really warm welcome and love the high ceilings and the general buzz. Decided on the prawn linguine and other had the meatballs and beef. All meals were great served very quickly despite restaurant being full. Glad I had a voucher for the Prosecco as normally it is £23.95!! Will certainly return.

This restaurant never ceases to amaze, with its high quality inspired offerings perfectly replicated in all its branches we have tried in UK, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland.

We had a lovely dinner with great pasta’s for the kids and excellent calzones. Nice to peak into the kitchen with its big oven.

Changed booking the day before coming without fuss or issue. Food was flavoursome, plentiful, attractively presented and all meals arrived together. Service was great and we didn’t feel rushed. The whole restaurant has a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

My lamb was tiny but the wife loved her dish. Friendly staff and great venue. When I’m back on carbs we will try for a decent pizza next time.

Long Overdue return to Guildford, born and raised and a pleasant return to a restaurant I actually opened and served as GM between 2001-04!

We visited Zizzzi late afternoon on a Saturday. There was a lively atmosphere and the food was delicious. The staff were attentive, friendly and polite. Highly recommend a visit.

The FoH staff are great, and ambience excellent.

I think Zizzi is a great chain, and this restaurant is an attractive room with fun open kitchen, and good staff. Pizza, pasta and salads are great. Other food not so good, butterfly prawns very small, and lamb shanks more so, indeed so small that I have seen more meat on a chicken drumstick. Come on Zizzi, no one orders lamb shank unless they want a substantive meal. Nearly turned me vegetarian, that lamb was so small when it met its end!

Booked a table for a pre-theatre evening meal. We were welcomed immediately and pleasantly. We asked for a table in a specific area and were shown to it. The order was taken quickly and gage food was good. We were served quickly and were out in plenty of time to get to G Live for the concert.

My first time into this restaurant and really impressed by the staff and the chef. Arrived with son & Daughter in law plus 2 excited grand daughters and nothing too much problem from high chair to encouraging children whilst ensuring the adults got excellent service with lovely food. A greta place for a family lunch

I've never been before, but thought that it might be quite good. It wasn't. It was just plain dull. The food was OK but I could do better with a trip to a Tesco.

We went out for dinner on a Saturday night and we chose to eat at Zizzi. At first, the service was good and everything was going well. The food was delicious and was served pretty fast and the atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant. The only issue that we had was that, while there were about 45 mins left until they would close, they started to clean up our table with us still being seated. From our point of view it was a bit rude, as we were about to leave soon anyway. There were other people in the restaurant as well, but no one went to clean their table while they were still there. Except for this issue, it was a pleasant night and we will probably return to eat here.

Had a lovely time here, staff were amazing, food 5 star couldn’t go wrong with this place! Defiantly would recommend the passion fruitini cocktail 😍

Went here on the off chance of table on a busy weekend. Had to wait a short while for the table. Shortly after we were sat and then enjoyed a fantastic meal. Incredibly busy which is why we had to wait I guess. Food was fantastic. Our servers (had a few people look after us throughout the night) were always on hand.

The restaurant here is decorated very tastefully and creates a warm atmosphere. Had all three courses and they were all delicious, big portion size too. Service was quick and our waitress was very polite. Will visit again

Waited over an hour from ordering to food being delivered. Food v poor quality, really small pasta portions and horribly undercooked pizza. When I complained about not getting order for ages or undercooked pizza was no offer of free drink etc. Obviously I did not pay a service charge ( never not paid service before)' I will never visit again.

Haven't been to.Zizzi's for a very long time so thought we'd go here for a change and glad we did! The choice on the menu was refreshing as was the service.

Enjoyed the Tuscan soup, a rainbow pizza, a mixed leaf salad and two beers.

Lovely from start to finish, greeted at the door and shown to our table. Extremely friendly and polite staff. We were attentively looked after and the food was delicious. Very good value for money! All needs catered for, would definitely recommend and will be going back again in the future!

Met up with old work friends for a pre Xmas meal. Excellent food and service was very good. Definitely recommend for anytime of day or evening out.

We booked the works Christmas doo for the Friday before December. The group was for 45 people.

Returning home stopped here on spec. Staff were in good shape despite light in numbers dealing with busy service mainly young families. Food was nicely prepared and presented. Our waiter excellent and overall impressed.

I went to zizzi with my daughter and her friends and the food was amazing! I was expecting some cheap Italian food but when I saw our mains it just blew me away! This really is the place to eat!

Fantastic food, brilliant service. This restaurant never fails expectations. The whole team are smiley and helpful when we’re unsure what to order. The food which we have either chosen or been recommended is always tasty.

The Fitstuff Running Club has been coming to Zizzi for the last three years for our Christmas dinner and it’s a great venue. There is a wide selection of choices on the set menus, the food is always tasty, and the staff are really helpful. Highly recommended.

Excellent service from all the staff at Zizzi's. Ok with us bringing a birthday cake into the restaurant. Also they found a last minute table for my husband and I so we could stay too. Thank you to Emanuele, Moek and Tim who looked after us.

If you want to use a voucher at this Zizzi then don’t bother going as they won’t accept it when all the other Zizzi will. The service wasn’t very good. When the waiter asked if we wanted drinks she assumed that only my friend would want one and that I didn’t

Zizzi is perfect for all the family. Children are made feel welcome and the new activity sheets for children are so well thought out.

Arrived at Zizzi at 6pm 28/11/which gave us an hour and 15 mins for the meal - we were going to the show at G Live.

Having tickets for G live (just across the road) had booked a table for 6.15 pm but traffic into Guildford was crawling. Arrived at the restaurant rather late.

Very busy despite being a Tuesday, so glad we booked. The food was excellent especially my Picante Rustica.

Booked into Zizzi on a Saturday night as attending a concert at the nearby G Live. Have visited this restaurant before and it always seems to be exceptionally busy, so would recommend booking to avoid being turned away. We were shown to our table straight away and our order was taken fairly quickly with starters arriving fairly soon afterwards. We then waited an age for our mains, not sure if they forgot (?) but the restaurant was really busy. Desserts ordered soon after finishing our mains and again these seemed to slow to appear, so much so that we had to ask for the bill to be prepared when they came. We allowed an hour and half for dinner and arrived at the theatre (less than 5 minutes away) just after the support act had started. The staff were very polite but service could and should have been faster.

Such a disappointing meal, I’m still sat at my table whilst I write this. I ordered Arancini, what arrived were six balls of tasteless gloop. Swiftly followed by two incredibly bland meals, one Carbonara made with water and plastic and a Beef and Venison pasta dish which had barely any beef or venison in it. The whole thing was mushy, over cooked, bland and lacking in seasoning. It’s all very boil in the bag.

First time I have ever reviewed a chain restaurant but this has to be done. The special black squid ink Tortelloni with seafood and brandy sauce was the sort of dish you would expect to find in a Michelin starred restaurant. Cooked perfectly al dente. Absolutely delicious. Well done!

Having wandered around in the rain searching for a decent pub or wine bar, which there doesn’t seem to be, I decided to eat.

The staff were lovely, ambience was ok but our big disappointment was the main course dish, lamb. It wasn't cheap at £15 and although the taste was lovely the portion size by the time you had taken out the bone and the fat left very little meat. I faired slightly better than my friend as I didn't have any bone in my piece only the fat. Also a very small portion of green beans. I have eaten at Zizz's for many years and always found the food to be good value for money. This wasn't.

We were originally going to eat at Prezzo however when we were told in quite a rude manner that they couldn’t accommodate us. We decided to walk into Zizzi’s. I haven’t been into a Zizzi’s in about 10 years but I was blown away by the quality of food and the friendly welcome by the staff. Our server (Marek) was so polite and very friendly and attentive without being too “in your face”. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning for another visit. Five star service! *****

My husband and I are regular Zizzi customers, it was our first time in the Guilford Zizzi (we were in town for the day) and it was also the first time I have ever had a bad meal in Zizzi. My spaghetti was tasteless, I could have done 10x better myself at home; my husband's baked pasta dish was over-salted and not very nice. Extremely disappointed in the food, particularly for the price. The service was good however, we were served by Marek and he was pleasant and funny. Will stick with the Zizzi's we are familiar with from now on.

We were served by an outstanding, polite waitress. I believe her name was Elaine. She served our table of four and was always helpful and laughed along with our dry sense of humour! Definitely would go there again !!

Busy restaurant serving average Italian food. Service good but disappointed with unappetising chicken which tasted very processed. Salad very ordinary.

Honestly have to say this is the best place to eat in Guildford for my family.

I went with two of my grown up children and we had delicious. pizzas and shared a couple of starters. The food as always was tasty hot and well presented.

Visited Zizzi at lunchtime today , we were the second cover at 12.05, unfortunately I needed to use the toilet before ordering. Big mistake, the cleaner had either done a very poor job, or just not turned up. It was dirty and scruffy.

I ate here with my wife a couple of weeks ago for the first time, even though we've lived in Guildford for 12 years. I was not disappointed. Food was fantastic, we had the Pulled Pork pizza and the King prawn Linguine. Plenty of flavour, well presented.

Había sido un tiempo desde la última vez que comimos en Zizzi, y no ha mantenido su alta calidad, o quizás elegí mal: Yo Comí brochetas de pollo calamares seguido de calamares y el eran bastante sin sabor con un recubrimiento muy párpados pesados, y el pollo sólo pasable. Spaghetti carbonara de mi amigo pinta horrible y ella dijo que estaba bien. Las porciones no eran enormes. El lugar estaba lleno, así que claramente, otros están disfrutando del restaurante. Volvería? No. Hay un montón de lugares en la ciudad sin intentar primero.

Nice place to eat with friends or family. The location, the service and the restaurant itself are good. The food was correct but the place is very noisy in the evenings.

July 23 we went out with friends on Zizzi I ordered chicken with roasted potatoes and green beans look terrible dish dirt cutlery dirty on the table only tasted pizza picante, tasteless pasta wife left more than the field not scary just a good dessert.
