Zhang Ji in Oxford

La comida era excelente y nuestro camarero era muy atento. Nos gustó especialmente nuestro plato de berenjenas. El vino de la casa también era decente. Recomendaría encarecidamente

Este lugar era increíble! Fui allí con mis amigos, uno de mis recuerdos favoritos en Oxford. Uno de los pocos lugares para visitar si quieres comidas picantes jeje

I have been going here since I was a student in 2020 and it is one of the greatest restaurants in the world. Omfg

We must have visited a different restaurant than Giles Coren. Expensive and most underwhelming,perhaps we chose badly.

There seem to be fewer Chinese restaurants these days. Few amongst them are authentic and of good quality. Zhang Ji is excellent and great value. Crazy busy at weekend lunchtimes but we don't eat during the evening so don't know about that. Though with many prefering to eat dinner rather than lunch it probably is? The published opening times for lunch start at 12:00. We arrived at 11:50 one Sunday intending to be early in the queue but the restaurant (Cafe?) was already open with many tables occupied. We were fortunate to be shown a table and ordered swiftly to avoid delays. By 12:15 there were few tables left free and by 12:45 the queue had formed. We visited again the following Sunday, arriving at 12:30 but had to join a queue. We waited for 15-20 minutes after being told there might be atable in 30 minutes. However, having seen that people already seated hadn't been asked for their order in that time we abandonned the idea and left. We returned on the Tuesday arriving at 12:30 and found that we were seated quickly and our order arrived quickly. We can really recommend the Fried Noodle dishes (aka Chow Mein?), the Spicy Fish special and the Sweet and Sour Pork Chef Special. The meat Gyoza as a starter is delicious too. Oh ..... the clientelle is 95% Chinese so that says something too?
