Quite good. Multi national food choices

The set included a main and a drink and it was excellent. Highly recommend the pad thai. Was fragrant and the portion was more than decent. Above all Francisco was very friendly and helpful and gave great recommendations and service

Francisco was so friendly and patient with us and our food was served hot and fast. He helped us refill our bottles with tap too at the end of lunch.

Truth be told, we were quite upset with the staff that greeted us on a Friday night. We walked in as we had just arrived from London (to try our luck, we weren’t hopeful) and we were asked if we had reservations. We said no and he just rolled his eyes and shook his head. Confused, we asked if by any chance it was possible to walk in, he just shook his head - not a single word. Rudest hostess we’ve ever met. Don’t know why but we decided to make a reservation anyways for the next night - and we were greeted by the friendliest face - Francisco. He was very hospitable and friendly. So kind and helpful. Food-wise, not bad. Wouldn’t say they’re smashing but bonus points because everything was halal.

Thank you Francisco for an amazing dining experience. Very friendly chap and took the time to really take care of us despite the busy crowds.

We had a bottomless brunch at banana tree and Gokul was able to provide us quickly with drinks giving us our moneys worth and then some with friendly service as well

Summary: They ignored my allergy, so don’t go if you have any allergies. My first time at a Banana Tree restaurant featured amazing food, but was overshadowed by the poor service. I can speak about the staff ignoring us whenever we asked them a question, but what really upset me was their lack of attention to my allergy. I have a sesame allergy, and when I couldn’t connect to their online menu, I asked a staff member to check with the chef if what I had ordered contained sesame. I didn’t receive a response, and assumed that my food didn’t. But I did start to feel some irritation around my lips, so I can’t say for certain if I was taken seriously. What was then worse was having ordered desert, I ate a couple spoonfuls of the rice pudding, before noticing that they’d sprinkled sesame seeds onto my pudding. Sure, they did replace it after a lot of trying to get their attention, but it was too little too late. I’m glad my allergy is only mild, and I could manage my reaction to the food myself. Training around allergies is beyond necessary for any restaurant, as nobody should feel unsafe eating the food they want. The service quality is one thing, but if safety standards are not improved, I’m not sure a place should be allowed to continue to operate. Nevertheless, that’s all out of my jurisdiction, so all I can do is strongly advise anyone with allergies to avoid this branch at all costs.

Absolutely loved everything about this place! The atmosphere was fantastic, the food was beyond delicious, and the customer service was top-notch. The staff was super friendly and laid-back, making the whole experience even better. This spot is definitely at the top of my list—a must-visit! A perfect combo of everything you’d want in a great dining experience!

Bottomless Brunch - food was great, drinks need more choice

Terrible experience - we are visiting Oxford for a few nights away, we looked at places to eat and saw this place had really good reviews.. I don’t know if it was just a bad day for them but we can honestly say this was our worst meal we have had out. They got my order wrong, when I called a member of staff over they tried to say I told them different, the main meal we ordered we got told was not spicy.. well that was spicy. The noodles were dry and looked like it had just been slapped on the plate with no flavour at all, my chicken was dry and the chicken skewers on the opposite was pink, the rice was inedible. They also messed the table next to us starters up. We had members of staff keep knocking into us as they were walking past us delivering food to other tables, (another couple asked to be moved due to the same issue) the staff just looked like they had no control. Really really disappointed, like I said this may have been an off day for these guys but I wouldn’t step back in this place if it was for free.Date of visit 07/09/2024.

Fabulous flavours! Great staff .. great atmosphere. They also have some long bench tables for large groups. Good is so well presented and full of flavour . Not spicy hot .. cocktails were great too!

Delicious!! But.. The 1st time I came for lunch and ordered the Lasko Soup and it was great. The 2nd time I came for dinner 2 days later and ordered the same thing, but the portion was just over half of what I got before, which no longer justified the price for me. I left hungry. Don't like the automatic service charge added to the bill.

I love the food here, especially the ramen bowls. Reasonable prices for Oxford and when you get 2 for 1 on the cocktails even better.

We had a fantastic dining experience at Banana Tree in Oxford, thanks to the excellent service provided by Linda. As tourists, we were initially unsure about what to order, but Linda's amazing suggestions made all the difference. We tried the Singapore Laksa and Katsu Curry, both of which were delicious. The Laksa, in particular, was so good that we planned a second visit just to have it again. The ambiance of the restaurant was also lovely, making our meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in Oxford!

This was our second visit to Banana Tree, and once again, we had a fantastic experience. The Singapore Laksa is a must-try—absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed the wings; they were a bit spicy but packed with flavor. The cocktail menu offers a good variety, and there's a great buy-one-get-one deal on drinks. The cocktails themselves are decent. During our first visit, Linda provided exceptional service. She was patient, enthusiastic, and incredibly helpful in guiding us through the menu. So when we came again on second time we were looking for her. Linda’s warm and attentive service, combined with the great food, is why we chose to return on our next trip to Oxford.

Great food but the rest was not so great shame really 😕

Honestly I think food was average. I’ve never been to any of the places like this before, but I’m 100% sure it’s a chain. Service was good, but 10% tip was added automatically, so I’d expect good service in this case regardless. I feel it was overpriced, but maybe for the Oxford it’s normal.

We had bottomless brunch and even though they had one member of staff, they served 12 of us consistently without fail. Ricky was great, very caring and made us feel welcome :)

Ordered on Deliveroo from this place today. Came all the way to Google to post this review. Chicken laksa soup and ramen today - chicken burnt in the ramen, tofu rubbery and the laksa tasteless. Never ordering from here again ! 3 years ago, this was my favourite Asian place in Oxford.

Delicious food (pad Thai and papaya salad were very flavoursome and authentic) and a great range of dishes, nice 2 for 1 cocktails and a relaxed atmosphere where you didn't feel rushed. Charles, who served us, was very attentive, friendly and helped provide recommendations. Good value for money and great for going out with friends.

Visited here today and was really disappointed, the starters were really nice but we all left parts of our main meals, I had a salmon dish, the rice wasn’t cooked well it was stodgy and tasteless, the salmon was swimming in an over powerful sauce, didn’t even eat a 1/4 of this. Staff could see we left full plates but no one asked if everything was ok just let us pay. The cost of this was £100 I hope this was a one off but I wouldn’t recommend here or return
