Simply not good Bland, too sweet. The vegetable Biryani was dripping oil everywhere.

Staff are friendly, service was good, food came out quickly, food was mediocre not really anything special price was expensive for what it was.

The atmosphere is really nice and the food is even better. I particularly enjoyed the Chicken Tikka Masala with rice and Naan bread.

The service is amazing, the food is great and the owners are lovely. We held a Charity Auction dinner here and it was a huge success, with lots of donations raised for a good cause. Couldn't have been achieved without the overall excellence of the Restaurant and am looking forward to going again!!

I visited achaar restaurant this evening with my friends. I was craving indian food for so long, it was really nice and matched my expectations. I was served by helal, he was really friendly and served us well. The experience was really nice and i really suggest you to get the masala fries and get served by mr. Helal. Overall great experience.

Couldn't find parking nearby so forced to order a takeaway from here. Staff were really friendly and food was really nice.

I visit here quite frequently with family, friends and work colleagues and we always get the same warm friendly welcoming from who ever is working/serving at the time. The food is simply delicious and freshly made to order, I find it reasonably priced too. I think it is well worth a visit and highly recommend.

We dined here as a last minute decision. What a good decision. Great modern upstairs venue, welcoming staff and owner and superb indian food. If you like great indian food do yourself a favour and dine here.

we recently visited as we hadn't been since it was called the first floor. happy to say it has been well decorated and some good changes made. The buffet area has been transformed into lovely new toilet areas, no need to climb the stairs any more. The food is delicious as always, ordering from the menu you get a lot of choice and the curries we had were large portions and very tasty. Staff friendly as always. Rcommended.

Very poor Thai or Chinese food, not worthy at all

Our first time eating out on the Cowley Road in Oxford for many years, and we are so glad we found Achaar. The best curry we have had for a very long time. My wife loved her lamb (Sag Gosht) and the Chicken Jalfrezi that I had was delicious. Perfect heat. Great service, and nice ambience (really liked the tranquil background music). We’ll be back!

Really unhappy with our family meal. We ordered the shared £36 mixed grill for 2 people that came with 2 sides, the meat portion was very small. We left very hungry and had to order a takeaway when we got home. The food is overpriced and portions are very small. We also ordered chicken burgers for the kids which were fine but again very overpriced as it comes on its own and you have to pay another £3.90 for chips to be added (£11 for a kids meal and £14 when we added the drink). I am happy to pay for a good meal but we left after the main because we were so disappointed. This ruined our family treat out.

One of my favourite places in oxford to go to as a resturant OR takeaway. I went a bit before lockdown (in February) and the quality was overall amazing. Not to mention that it's halal!!!!!

All you can buffet restraunt with plenty of places to maintain social distance .and enjoy very good food drinks .

Stayed in Oxford for a few days to get out of london. Saw that this was a halal buffet that’s is currently a takeaway due to Covid and was keen to try it. I ordered the crispy chilli beef, chicken with mushroom and the chicken Penang curry and 2 egg fried rice. It was DELICIOUS! First, they had 20% off on orders over £15, so I spent about £27 (minus delivery) which was reasonable for the amount of food I ordered (plenty for 2 people, enough for 3). In comparison I ordered 2 noodles from Pan Pan, which wasn’t very good, was £24 (minus delivery) and didn’t feel like enough food for two people. Second, the curries were really tasty, seasoned just right, not oily and the veg was cooked perfectly with a good crunch and flavour. Third, it was the fastest delivery, it got to me in 40 mins where other deliveries were over an hour. Really loved the food and will definitely visit again after Covid to try out the buffet. For now, if you are looking for decent halal takeaway I recommend this place.

They are never busy you can see when walking past and that always means the food takes the hit. With cheaper quality and trying to stretch everything. And reusing the next day. I’m sure of it. To still make a profit.. it’s just really poor quality. I would never visit there again. Not even for free. Each to there own tho. This is just my opinion.

Avoid the mocktails ,a fly found in it and also a fly in the ice.

Mostly served stale food in buffet.Same oil used so many times.Not many options for curries.For buffet this is not a good option. The staff in restaurant insisted to go for buffet only. Spent approximate £14 for nothing. Had complaint about hygiene and quality of food.

To say it's pan-Asian, it's just Indian food. If you like Indian curry chicken dishes, you can eat it to your heart’s content. There are 4-5 different chicken dishes, but they all taste the same to me. The salad bar was a bit poor, the soup wasn't that good, so I didn't eat it, and I just ate the curry chicken to fill my stomach and finished with cheesecake dessert. 13 pounds per person. The staff are all friendly.

Good value Chinese / Indian buffet restaurant - don't expect loads of choice though.

If there was an option of negative star I would have given that. Worst food I have ever had. The service was very poor and they misbehaved with my friend. Never try food from here, instead of that buy ready to eat food from Tesco which is right opposite to it.

Take away was expensive and lacking flavour, curry sauce was like water. Will not use again🤮

The first floor restaurant offers a lot of range. However the quality was not great for Indian food.

The food isn’t really to my taste. Selection is small and the Chinese dishes were really not very authentic. Every dish share a similar oily taste. Sorry, we will avoid.

Lovely buffet place with delicious foods. They serve halal Thai, Chinese, and Indian dishes. Also, staffs are very friendly and nice.

Got in late, no buffet left, told they would be more coming out of kitchen, not topped up, and what was left was taken away while I was serving myself. Glad it’s not the only Asian food in this area.

We looked over the advertises menus on line and though what a great selection of foods available, subject to not all being available, but when there is only 2 main dishes for the chinese and Indian and only 1 for the tiy we were very disappointed. Advertises only line there was 20 mains for Chinese and Indian, i understood not all would be put on but 2 out of 20 is not at all a selection. Online there is 6 types of noodles, but only 1 available. No Chinese rice when 6 advertised.. Very disPointed.. Needless to say we will Not be returning.

I came from Manchester to visit my family. Went to The First Floor Restaurant for buffet. Good Variety. Can do a bit more with few more starters and desserts. Overall good taste and service.

Came here during Ramadan as all meats here are halal. Great place to bring family. The buffet was not very big but the fried food options were pretty good especially the sweet & spicy cauliflower, and the chicken tikka masala in the main course took the prize. Chinese options not too great. The salad bar was way too basic. However, good service, staff ensured we had what we wanted always. Would come again.

Food was okay, nothing to shout about. When we went it was a cold day and it was quite cold inside, so we didn't really enjoy our coffee afterwards.....

We ordered food thru JustEat. the beef with blackbean sause, fried rice and chowmein were very good. And so was the butter naan. However, the chicken malai tikka was actually sweet, and I didn't like it much. Delivery was quite prompt, and prices are reasonable

Nice simple selection of food and nice looking place. I tried some of pretty much every food and the quality was pretty consistent. The staff are amazing always offering extras like fresh naan included in the meal price and are very attentive for a self serve. Would recommend.

Was told this place was amazing the best of the best Well... it was far from that.When I came the staff were lovely and polite very helpful and kind. The food on the other hand was bland and tasteless, there wasn’t much to choose from at all, the poppadoms were dry and the nann bread tasted of pancakes. I paid to roughly £15 to eat here and for the price i paid I’d of expected a wider variety and a better quality food it was not worth It i ate hardly anything it was a complete waste of money really disappointed and will not be coming back. Do not recommend

I enjoyed a very lovely dinner here with my wife and toddler. We arrived without a reservation but was seated straight away, with a high chair for the baby. The dishes were a variety of Chinese, Thai, and Bangladeshi, and halal. All dishes were on offer, freshly cooked and topped up. The price was ok for a buffet, quality of food and , service. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. If I'm in Oxford again, I would definitely be coming back.
