Zest Restaurant at Hoopers Torquay in Torbay

Our only go to place to eat. Helpful staff, good tasty food, reasonable priced, and kept clean and tidy. Good access. Sometimes could do with a bigger seating area as very popular. Fabulous views best in town.

A lovely brunch for me at Zest Restaurant for a veggie breakfast. I can tell you that the food did taste as good as it looks. The reason for the 4* for atmosphere is the harbour windows are busy and seating is tightly packed in. But, I would recommend.

Small cafe in the traditional department store in town. Good selection of drinks and snacks. Very good scones.

What a disappointment! My mum had gammon, chips and eggs. Just anemic slices of ham, 2 overcooked eggs and quite nice chips. I had a panini, very cheap greasy cheese. The sauces: brown was horribly watery and the mayo was far too white and tasteless. Coffee was weak and rather tasteless. Come on Hoopers, you are a smart shop selling very substandard food. Shame on you, the view from the cafe couldn't even compensate.

Beware the staff do not charge the listed price . Ordered a sconne and was requested to pay 25p for 2 butters

We love to have our brunch in this place on the weekend sometimes. There is an amazing view over looking the harbour in Torquay. The atmosphere is quite pleasant. I love the coffee here, It is very creamy and tasty. The food is always well presented and of reasonable quality. The staff are gentle, polite and friendly. The only weakness of this place is that there is always a queue at the till. The coffee shop is on the top floor of the store. The store is quite pricey but it has good quality clothes and products.

11 45am after waiting 15min was told won't serve me with paninis as we are only doing breakfast items Not a notice in sight stating the fact which is bad customer service

Great food, service and views from the top floor cafe inside Hoopers Dept Store in Torquay, Devon. I return here every year for casual lunchtime breaks and it has never failed me.

What an absolute joy it was to visit this cafe yesterday. Melody who served us was such a lovely girl, friendly, smiling, complimentary, she really is a credit to hoopers. The coffee was great and the maple & pear slice was delicious, the views are also wonderful, I feel lucky to live in such a beautiful part of Devon.

Wonderful views from the top floor restaurant overlooking Torquay Harbour (elevator available) . The staff are always attentive and very friendly. Tables are cleaned quite promptly so the restaurant is always nice and tidy. I have only tried their cakes and sandwiches. In my experience the quality is very high but not always fresh. The food presentation is also very good. When the WiFi is working it is very good but I have attended a few times when it has not been working at all.

It's a beautiful day in Torbay....walked to Goodrington and back and now in need of a nice late lunch. This restaurant is perfectly located on the top floor of Hoopers Department store with stunning views across Torbay. And the service and food are excellent. We had bacon, brie and chutney paninis which were delicious. Decent restaurants are few and far between these days but this place is certainly a cut above. Seating area is good.....just need to get rid of the awful stained carpet!!

Best place to shop in torquay , i love this store , nice staff , lovley coffee , lovley products , wish it was in Bournemouth !!!!!! I just drove 100 miles for a spa weekend , 1st stop before check in , Hoopers !!!!

Pleasant staff serving nice food

Fantastic we went there on our first day of the holiday with my mum and dad.

Arriving at 3pm the ladies couldn’t wait to tell us it closed at 3.30 and in fact started putting stuff away at 3.20! The tea was tasteless and the cheese scone was cheese less and could not be eaten without a drink as it was so dry. Chucking things on our tray, forgetting milk on someone else’s and one couple leaving due to lack of welcome and no one serving. Come on Hoopers you can do much better than this.

We visited the zest restaurant while on holiday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had sandwiches and panini for lunch, Came with salad and crisps too. We came back later in the afternoon for a cup of tea. We'll done.

Very tasty smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich and bacon and brie panini. Lovely views of Torquay harbour in the sunshine.

The decor is very up market. However their coffee and they're scones leaves a lot to be desired.

One member of staff was quite rude to me. Wouldn't allow me to have a glass of drinking water. That's against the law.

Fantastic restaurant on the top floor of Hooper's Department store. You'll get a great meal, reasonably priced, and a wonderful view of the shopping district of Torquay. They seem to have various daily specials, to keep things interesting. Highly recommended.

Walk to the rear of the ground floor and take the lift to the top and one of the best cafes in Torbay. Reasonable prices, pleasant surroundings and a great view. Food is good quality. Note there is a rear entrance from The Terrace.
