Great beer, lovely venue. Good prices

So, I have had to remove a star because they have stopped serving the steak pizza that was awesome. It is still the best pizza in South Wales and I have eaten a lot of pizza! Let me know if you have had better pizza because I don't think it is possible. I also wished that they either cut the pizza or gave you a pizza cutter because knives suck. I wish all places offered a litre of beer as standard. It is the correct size! The taste of the beer is also great. Well worth a visit. They also do a great Vegan pizza.

The staff were amazing in assisting me in booking for a large group. Everyone got their food in very good timing. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the night.

Large venue but unfortunately they didn’t have any dark beer or stouts. They also don’t sell 2/3’s which is a shame. Upstairs chairs were damaged and the venye had a weird smell(could be the brewery vats?) Wouldn’t rush back but enjoyed our 30 Mins in there.

Mia did an excellent job of looking after us. Really impressed with how quickly we received our drinks and food. Our arancini and pizzas were delicious. Fun, relaxed atmosphere.

Even though it wasn't that busy our drinks to ages to come. We also had over an hour wait for food and it was very average.

This place has gone downhill. Food service was atrocious and the quality was just as bad. I'm not going to go into detail because I'll be here all day, but basically, don't bother eating there.

We booked here for a meal after the rugby game. ( better to book to guarantee a table). Our table was up a flight of stairs, looking down on the lower bar area. There is limited choice of drinks on the menu, but all our party did manage to find something. All the food that we had ordered was really good. It was tasty and of a good portion size. However, a couple of dishes, the chicken teriyaki noodles, had to be sent back for being too salty but were replaced without any fuss. The arribiatta pasta, I felt, was really spicy, too spicy for me, so I'm glad I had ordered the BBQ chicken pizza, which was nice. The servers were polite, prompt, and well presented. We bumped into one of the servers ( sorry, didn't get your name), on the runway at the airport, and she remembered us from the previous night. I'm glad I left a good tip, lol.

"Come to Zero Degrees to watch the six nations rugby" the advert states. But only one of the screens was showing it with all the others blank. Ten minutes before the start of the game (why not earlier?) the screens showed somebody trying to find the correct channel and internet connection. It was on ITV - is is that difficult to get ITV? They never managed to get it on at least 4 of the screens! Don't advertise something if you can't deliver. The last three times we have been there on a rugby day the same has happened. Please invest in some updated tech, or somebody who knows how to work it. The beer and pizza were great.

The food was okay, too expensive for what it was. London prices in Cardiff but average food. The no alcohol draft ale and larger was good.

I’m a Cardiff local so had many issues at this bar in the past. Mainly the service but food has been poor. The Straw was broke when I went with my friends recently. After queuing for 20 mins. I was told they weren’t serving walk ins despite 0 signs, bouncers or bar staff informing me of this. They let me queue at the front serving anyone else. When I asked why i hadn’t been informed why I couldn't be served, the young lady at the bar rolled her eyes after 20 mins of waiting and was rude as any staff I’ve ever seen in Cardiff. I get not caring too much but she literally couldn’t have cared less. Any notification about refusing to serve us would have been appreciated but they took 20 mins of being at the front of a queue just to tell me to go away. If you want good customer service or good pizza, this place is one to avoid!

Nice food and great beer. Even the alcohol free beer was good.

We booked a few days before for a table of 4 for a birthday meal on Saturday lunchtime. On arrival we explained one couple were delayed because of an issue with trains. The waitress sat us at a tiny table. No way 4 adults could’ve comfortably had drinks let alone food at a table of this size. No apology offered. We were eventually moved to the dining area. We heard the table behind us complaining. They had had to go and find someone to get their bill. Waitress came over and said they were short staffed - fair enough but at least apologise. She asked for our order despite knowing we were still waiting on our friends to arrive. We asked about the mussels as the menus seemed limited compared to the online menu. She went to check and came back to say there were no mussels on the menu any longer. (Mussels are advertised all over the venue and the reason we’d booked) Waitress came back and said ‘we don’t do mussels now’ why she’d have to ask I have no idea. Surely staff should know the menu. When we politely explained the online menu still show mussels she shrugged and said ‘the online menu had nothing to do with her’ We chose not to eat there but in the time we were there waiting for our friends we heard another waitress ask a table if they enjoyed their food. When one person said ‘no the pizza was soggy’ she told him ‘yeah the chefs aren’t great’ This used to be a great place to meet and eat. Seriously need to do some staff training. Very disappointing and we certainly won’t be back

Booked a table for 2:15 after the Cardiff Half Marathon (there was a free pint for all finishers, so they knew the event was on). It wasn’t that busy but food took over 2 hours to arrive. This was quite a long time to wait especially with young children. The waitress was very nice and friendly and was put in a bad situation, however the wait was ridiculous. The food was nice and we were offered 20% off but I wouldn’t come back on a weekend / busy day.

The food was average especially the pizzas. Our drinks came after our pizza arrived, so expect slow service even when the place is empty. A good place for beer though.

This relates to the customers service of the online beer shop. Ordered some beer online 7 days prior to my BBQ. No communication about my order or its delivery. After 4 days queried my order. After five days cancelled my order. After 8 days my order was delivered. Like the beer, but now have too much. Cannot even try to return as no communication.

I am a local in Blackheath, but sometimes I go to Cardiff for work, and I finish I always pop down for few beers and pizza 💪💪💪

I was the lead guest for a booking of 15 guests on a Saturday night and had been charged a deposit of £100 for the booking. Despite Zerodegrees having received all food orders over three days in advance via their own web system there were long delays in our group being served food, with starters taking over 45 minutes to arrive and the main courses nearly an hour after that. I'm not even sure all the ordered desserts were delivered as I had to spend over 30 minutes with the staff arranging paying the bill, as the payment system could not handle refunding a booking deposit as well as guests paying separately so they could leave to catch public transport. It seems if you want your deposit returned on the night your group MUST pay the bill as a single transaction and the deposit MUST be taken off the total first, which is totally unworkable with a group of 15 people. not all of whom had the same courses. Eventually, and after a very stiffly worded email, my deposit was returned four days later with no apologies or even acknowledgement of the very poor service we received. I would strongly recommend not booking this venue for a group meal, they seem to be able to arrange a drinking party in this brewery, but very little else...

Went with a group they took almost an hour to get our starters to us. The mains came.to half of the table 20 minutes before the other half of the table. Food was bland and no apologies for the wait at all throughout the night

Decent beer selection but do not order food if you are in a group as they, ironically, could not organise a jolly in a brewery. Food that isn't pizza isn't much to shout about

Came here a few years ago and was great food and beer. I'm pleased to say it continues to set the bar for Cardiff's craft beer scene. It's hard to tell if it's a restaurant or a tap room, but that's why it's so good. A beer for every palette and food that stimulates so many flavours, it's well above a craft breweries standard offerings. The staff were absolutely superb, offering an informal bar atmosphere or a table service as suited. They were all friendly, approachable and above all attentive. The venue itself is an absolute jem of a building. Open plan downstairs with a lovely sun terrace upstairs.

Used to be best pizzas in Cardiff but have gone downhill to average since there was a change of kitchen staff. Not cheap except when the Beat the Clock offer is on Mondays. Beat the clock gets suspended over the Christmas period.£5 at 5pm £6 at 6pm pro rata. Great beer too brewed on the premises. Depends if you like the style. Beer prices have also risen to over £5 a pint. There are now better places to go. Update June 7th no change. Seems staffing problems are over now but open at 5pm Mondays for beat the clock again. Open at 12 after Wednesdays.

I've loved all of my trips to Zerodegrees Cardiff and have been making a point to go every time I'm there! All of their pastas and pizzas are delicious (the garlic fries are one of my favourites too) and my friends and I love going there for food and a drink whenever we're in town. Everyone who works there has been so welcoming every time I have been, regardless of how busy it gets. Between the atmosphere, food, and employees it is my favourite place to eat out in Cardiff.

We hired this venue for our wedding reception. The price per head on food was very expensive compared to how much food was provided on the day. They were taking away full plates of food from the buffet rather than leaving them to be eaten. I had confirmed layout of the function rooms and dietary requirements with the venue via email and in person but on the day these instructions were not followed, meaning some of our young guests had to wait quite a long time for food which met their dietary needs. We hired the venue ubtil 12am but felt we were being rushed out by 11pm. I have tried to contact the venue to raise these issues but have had no response from them.

Had an enjoyable Sunday lunch here. The space is huge! Can only imagine the buzz when it’s filled with people on Friday night! First, excellent beers, I tried their signature mango beer - delicious. The pizzas were alright, we ordered one capricciosa that was great and one with pear and gorgonzola, which was a slight disappointment. Great dough but there was too much of everything apart from pear and gorgonzola, other cheeses, red base, some rocket and sprinkles of spicy mayo(?). So overall a nice impression, but next time I’ll get another pizza ;)

Really good food on offer. I chose the muscles in beer and bacon sauce and it was lovely. My gin was lovely too and the whole experience was very enjoyable could have stayed there all evening.

Went there with a group of around 28 people, we had opted for the buffet meal which amounted to hardly a plateful of snacks for £22.50 each. Asked for a menu to order more food and after a lengthy delay was told there is no menu available and that all we could order was chips. When we tried to order chips we were told that the kitchen was closed despite the fact that people downstairs were still being served pizza. The in-house beer was also a total rip off at £5.95 a pint. Being brewed in-house you would think that the beer would be cheaper as there are no transport costs. Very disappointed, wish i had read the other reviews before wasting my money on this rip off place, the food did not even taste nice, most of it was just cheese on savory biscuits.

Can only assume that the time taken was for milking the goat to produce the cheese for the pizza. Took over three hours to produce the first mains pre-ordered with 24h notice for a friend's stag do, with the venue otherwise quiet and kitchen staff clearly stood idle. Embarrassingly poor service, would thoroughly recommend avoiding. When food arrived the pasta was cold and pizzas burned.

A large group of us (18 people) had made a booking for 19:45 to have a stag-do dinner before our 22:00 plans. Two and a quarter hours seems reasonable enough for starters and mains, especially seeing as the restaurant had received our pre-orders 72 hours in advance. Upon arriving we were shown upstairs and told a member of staff would be up to take our drinks orders. A member of staff did show up… approximately 30 minutes later. By this point I had discovered that the chair I was sat on was coated in a layer of dry beer, leaving a large sticky patch on my jeans which required washing off (side note, don’t try drying your jeans with the hand dryer, it’s about as strong as my will to live after the service we received). Having freed myself from my sticky bonds, I returned to the table, eager for food. Alas, food was still a distant dream. After about 90 minutes, Demeter herself must have taken pity on us, and at last food arrived in the form of starters. Just consider the things that could be done in 90 minutes: Watch the entirety of Shrek. Watch 5 TEDTalks. Contemplate how Tom Bombadil had the absolute audacity to be the strongest character in the series, yet still leave the ring to Frodo to take to Mordor, rather than dance through himself and flip off Barad-dûr. Complete three whole Duolingo classes, appeasing the bloodlust of The Owl for another day. Hunt and cook the stag ourselves, bringing harmony to our stomachs in place of his imminent matrimony. The point is, 90 minutes is too long to wait for starters. I received wonderful customer service from the staff at Par59. when I rang them to let them know that we would likely be late to our booking. 5/5, get drunk and play mini golf. But I digress. Upon speaking with our server, we were assured that our main courses would be prepared right away. Now, having worked in catering myself, I am wholly aware of the scope of time meals take to prepare and cook. And I can say with absolute certainty that an hour is much too long to prepare and cook the majority of our meals. I say the majority as not all of the food made it to our table. Whether it got lost on its way from the oven to the plate, or whether the slow, incompetent chefs were too busy stretching their pizza dough with wrists as limp as an eel with disability allowance, and the same determination and passion for the job as Amy Winehouse at a rehab clinic, I could not say. All I know is that we were an hour late for our 22:00 booking (which, again, I cannot recommend Par59 enough, the staff were nothing but a delight, and they even stayed open despite our being the only customers in the venue). Pros: As exciting as watching paint dry. Staff didn’t want to interrupt our time to see if we would like more drinks - of course we didn’t, we were busy socialising. Food took so long to get to the table that we could have had a screening of The Fellowship of the Ring. Cons: Not long enough for the extended edition. Do not go gentle into that zero degrees, Old age should burn and rave by foods arrival; Rage, rage against zero degrees.

Be prepared to wait two and a half hours for a main when the place is quiet. Good food if you have the patience of a saint…

Attended for a 'stag do' which they gladly accepted as a booking . Impressively, they took the orders 3 days in advance of our booking. However, it took an hour for the drinks to arrive and then it took an hour and a half for the starter to arrive. Upon complaining, it was agreed that drinks would be on the house but no drinks would be allowed to be ordered past what we already had (near enough a pint each)?the main courses arrive 2 hours, 15 mins after we arrived. Make sure you sit down mid-afternoon for your booking to be finished by 20:00. This restaurant is very keen to accept a large booking but its a shame that the booking wasn't fulfilled as promised

We pre booked our food here before our visit as we wanted to eat before the wales v england rugby game. we arrived 10 mins early for our booking at 2.45. we thought that would be plenty of time to eat before the game. But,we had to leave nearly 2 hours later without having our main meals. the waitresses were trying very hard under hard circumstances, but the place was overflowing with people ,and sadly it was too much for them. My question is, WHY let so many people in? you obviously could not cope ??. This was a birthday treat for one of our party and even though we gave you our menu choices weeks ago, you could not provide 3 pizzas and a salad!! the whole day was spoilt . Thanks very much !!!

Well what a disaster very big party service was appalling one waiter was so rude food was rubbish had pizza and a side of fries which cam after the pizza was eaten no bacon on the BBQ chicken and bacon pizza and just three pieces of chicken !!!! The lasagne was no bigger than a square drinks coaster was very dry the diet cokes were disgusting and had to go back twice if the party was too big to cater for then don't book in that size I would not recommend this place at all so dissapointing after speaking to the manager about this he done nothing at all wot an expensive night for food which was appalling

Called in there to watch the 6 nations against Ireland, asked about ordering some food, and was told unless we had pre-booked and pre-ordered. No. While the match was on, there apx 40 people in there. We chatted to others who said the same. The staff were generally standing around with nothing to do, while the punters who were hungry were left staring at an unused pizza oven!! The management missed a trick there to earn an extra few £100's and justify paying the staff for the duration of the game. To add insult in injury, all the screens were out of sync with each other. So it was a pain trying to watch the game. And at £6.45 a pint, Don't bother!!! Will not be returning...

Booked for food and was really excited for it but when we turned up the kitchen was closed. Did not receive any emails about this at all. Travelled to Cardiff, was really hard to find somewhere else that would seat us on a friday night before the 6 nations weekend. Gutted.

Visited here a few times over the years on a match day, shared a pizza and a few beers before heading into the stadium. Booked a table in October 22 for the coming February 23, two months later I received an email asking for a deposit. Completely understood and paid it. Then a month after paying a deposit I had another email saying I now had to preorder from a £25pp menu or my booking will be cancelled. We don’t want £50 worth of food. This hasn’t happened before and wasn’t mentioned before! I’ve tried Facebooking, I’ve emailed and no response so that’s our deposit down the drain now through no fault of our own. It was a choice of lose the deposit or spend £50 on food we don’t want. Customer service is absolutely shocking, just ignoring customers! Will never go there or recommend again.

I hadn't been here in a long time, but it's still as good as I remembered. Pizza was really good, great selection of beers and the staff were very friendly. It was a bit quiet so harder to score "atmosphere", but then it was a midweek evening!

Visited yesterday (20 December) - service was apalling, my pizza was not cooked properly and it was generaly very disappointing. One saving grace: the beer was excellent.

Avoid here like the plague if you have allergies, intolerances or are vegan. I ordered a menu item that claimed to be vegan, but when someone in my party who eats dairy-free doubted it and double checked, it did have milk in it. Someone who was gluten intolerant was also served gluten in a dish that claimed to be gluten free. Dietary icons should not be put on menus if the chefs/restaurant don't know what they mean. If anyone had an allergy, this could have been very serious. Personally, I felt like my morals had been disrespected as a vegan.

We are not local, but go to Cardiff twice a year for the rugby and always eat here. This time we sat next to the same television screen which wasn't programmed correctly to work - the same problem which occurred 9 months earlier. Although every one in there had been watching the Welsh game, they decided not to show the France v South Africa game on any of their many screens. Why? Instead they played the type of music that nobody really listens to, but it's loud enough to make a conversation difficult. The food and beer is still really good, but next time down we will be going elsewhere.

Three of us visited this bar yesterday and would visit again. The bar has character and the craft beers were of good quality ( although not the cheapest drinks of the day). We found the staff to be very helpful in helping to select beers...

I went for my 21st birthday served by a lovely chap with long hair Paul (i think!) and he was one of the most friendliest waiters i’ve ever had. Food was great and lots to choose from and had a lovely atmosphere.

Fantastic place for drinks and food. Staff always friendly and Amber who served us upstairs Saturday 3rd Sept was a fantastic host and made my evening for my birthday so thank you. Hope to return again very soon.

What a welcome ! The man on duty was so keen to share his knowledge of the beers and offered us tasters! He was so efficient and polite. Obviously enjoys his job and we throughly enjoyed the experience. Beers excellent quality. All 3 pizzas arrived...

Bar staff are incredible and beer also delicious! Try out the Downtown APA, Mango fruit beer or the Reef Rice Lager super tasty

Bit disappointed with our group booking in that two meals didn't arrive at the same time as the rest, however these were not charged for and all meals were great. Beers aren't mainstream and better for it

Went there last weekend for my mates stag do. It started off badly by being rammed and no tables available as Tom Jones was in town but a staff member, Charlie saved the start of our evening. She told us that if we found a table to come find us and she'd bring food menus. We eventually found a table but there was a two hour wait for food. Just as we was about to try and find somewhere else to go for food she went and she bought us little pots of popcorn to keep us going. It was a very much appreciated by me and the lads. I also saw her handling the door when they got too busy to accept anymore people really well and with a beautiful smile on her face. A while later she came back to let us know the wait for food had massively gone down and we could order now. Charlie is a credit to your company, I can't imagine it was an easy shift for her or any of your staff but they kept plugging through with a smile on their faces and giving an excellent service. Charlie was especially amazing with the small gestures and great service that meant so much to me and the boys on such an important night. I highly reccomend this bar and to get look after by Charlie.

I found a hair in my food today. No one took away the plate after i complained. I was looking at this plate of Chicken spinach risotto for over 45 minutes after complaining. No one took it away. I wondered what causes this behaviour. It was so disgusting. I am like could no one relate to me looking at a plate of risotto with a long strand of hair in for over 45 minutes. Did they think I would remove the hair and eat it. No replacement meal was offered. I got a refund. A forced Appology. Is this a racist microaggrestion? I can't figure out why I wasn't given a chance to have a replacement meal. Totaly bad customer service. I felt i was treated very differently at this restraunt. And it was embarrassing because I had a visitor from outside Cardiff, and I didn't want to cause any drama. So paid my bill and left.

We were told there was a slight delay on orders, that took 45 minutes to serve drinks from ordering, it appeared they forgot our food order after about 1.5 hours the main courses arrived followed by the starters on one of the the hummus and...

Visited the restaurant with a table booked at 5.30pm. Taken to the table and given a list of items not available on the menu. We ordered a three cheese pizza between us and sweet potato fries each with a soft drink each. The pizza was...

I've been here Sunday on the 15th. I've asked for BBQ wings and they served me raw wings. They didn't even apologize. I've told them if they know it is poison to serve raw chicken and they said they know... That was it... I've would of understand if it would if been busy , unhappy accidents happen but there was only 2 tables for food. I think the chef's should change their jobs... Really disponed, I highly recommend not to come in here

Went here for some lunch and a beer, the staff are super friendly and helpful. The microbrewery selection was amazing, sampled a few different offerings and even the styles I wouldn't usually like were great. The food was beautiful. Will definitely be visiting again next...

Honestly nothing I didn't love, mango beer is beautiful, I had the risotto and it was really tasty, music at a good volume, and to top it off, the staff are fantastic, really friendly and more than happy to go the extra mile.

Selection of ciders was terrible

This was one of the worst experiences my family of 10 have ever had. We arrived at Zerodegrees at midday on bank holiday Monday (02.05.22) and advised the front of house that we needed to leave the venue at 12.45 in order to watch our daughter play rugby across the road. Front of house advised that only half the menu was available given it was bank holiday. Chef confirmed food would be ready for us. We immediately placed our order but only half the order was made at 12.30. Front of house had disappeared so we served ourselves from the counter. Chef then started making the remainder of the meal which meant we had to take it out with us. When we tried to pay with cash, we were told they had no change. If I owned this venue, I would be livid

Waited an hour for food, told that we should have questioned them sooner when complained, no refund for drinks given and told ‘fine’ when I said I wouldn’t come back again. Absolutely awful.

The pizza was under seasoned. Unfortunately the pepper was too. Staff didn’t know anything about their own beers and they’re a micro brewery.

Good food, good beer. Beer is expensive for Cardiff though £5.25 a pint in March 2022. Monday after 17:00 there is a beat the clock pricing for food. The price you pay per meal is the time you arrive ie £5 at 5, £6 at 6 etc.,except for Bank Holidays and most of December. Their speciality beers are usually over £5 a pint. Latest offers are lunchtime food discount: £6.25 for meals from the main menu. Not as good as it once was, sadly. Pizzas not as good as they used to be. Personally I'm not beating a path to the place anymore and there is no atmosphere there either.

Had a lovely post-Cardiff half round of drinks there today. Very welcoming and friendly staff, we felt very welcomed. Table reserved for us outside. Generous drinks glasses and lovely atmosphere.
