This is the best Chinese I've had. The food is flavourful and delicious. The staff are super friendly and helpful. It is 100% value for money. It's not cheap but definitely worth it. Would highly recommend, Everytime.

First time here, family of 4 and all enjoyed the food, everything very crispy and tasty. Service was prompt and polite. Some of the nicest Chinese we have had in a while. Another advantage is they have their own car park, so your not driving around looking for a space. We will be back!

Ordered from here, food came within 15 minutes of ordering. Tasted old and chewy like it had been reheated from the night before. Have ordered from here before and it usually tastes so fresh but not this time not impressed

Delicious, fresh food with high quality ingredients

My fussy daughter loves chicken chow mein and prawn crackers. And I had beef in black bean sauce plain chowmein with beansprouts, fried pork dumplings and kungpo chicken.... it was delicious. While I was waiting for collecting my take away food, the manager served me a pot of tea, which was great. Thank you so much. See you soon.

Went as a surprise birthday meal and was treated to a superb feast. Could just have the starters as the choice was very good and everything was freshly cooked and piping hot. The desert came out to the sounds of "Happy birthday" which was a nice surprise and an example of the custorer cafe the Ivan extends to all his customers. Will definitely be back. On a Sunday they have an all you can eat buffet. On arrival you pick a range of starters and mains from a menu, and these are brought out freshly cooked to order. If you have a larger group then you can pick a wide range of food to try. Well cooked and presented with some new food as well as old favourites to try. Small amount of car parking. Manager was very friendly.

The worst Chinese I ever tried! The pieces of Chicken are 10 % chicken and 90 flour! The sweet and sour chicken without pineapple, but onion! And hard pieces of carrot! The rise doesn’t have taste it is lumpy and watery. TERRIBLE! Pictures are coming

First takeaway order from Zen Garden. Very disappointed, two words to sum it up, greasy and tasteless. Vegetable spring rolls just stodgy, no vegetables in sight. All main courses just a bland greasy mush.

Enjoyed another top class tribute evening at Zen Garden last night. This time it was Tom Jones and at £35 a head it offered excellent value. The food was excellent as always and the staff efficient and courteous. We all had a fantastic time.

We went for Sunday lunch buffet. The restaurant was quieter than I thought it would be but the service was friendly & helpful & the food plentiful & tasty. I would go again & maybe in the evening.

I’ve had many takeaways from here and it’s the best, we have Singapore Noodles I have them extra spicy and they’re lovely, Chicken chow mein, beef chow mein, Chicken Fried rice, sweet and sour ribs, sweet and sour chicken, vegetable spring rolls, everything taste fresh not greasy like some places by far the best Chinese locally that I’ve had in a long time, the staff I speak to are great and the delivery drivers always polite and on time. I’m looking forward to visiting the restaurant soon

I've been using Zen Garden since 2006 ( so even before it was actually Zen Garden - remember Pang's Villa! ) and have found it to be generally very good Chinese food, whether eat-in or takeaway. That said, in the very early days it was a bit hit-and-miss. However, I wanted to finally write a review, as over the years I think Ivan and his team have worked wonders at improving the service and quality to superb levels. Our meal last night was absolutely sublime, and I'd like to thank him, the chef and everyone involved for the standards they now seem to be setting. Many thanks!

The best Chinese restaurant I have ever been to! I’ve been coming here for years with my family and we absolutely love it. The staff are beyond lovely; they are so friendly and accommodating, truly superb customer service. The food is outstanding; there is a massive variety to choose from, and the food is always fresh and tasty. I recommend the Beef with Black Bean and Garlic Sauce, or the Chicken with Mushrooms, and for dessert the Toffee Banana is excellent. I cannot recommend this place enough and hope to continue coming here for many years to come!

The home of Chinese. This place is our world. It's our everything and it's so special to our hearts. When we call, the manager is so lovely - my partner says it's almost like therapy. The quality of the food here is definitely better than a regular Chinese restaurant - and the takeaway is also better.. Definitely the better of the Chinese restaurants in the area - so I'm fine with paying the extra for better tasting food. Also they don't appear to use much MSG as I don't get a raging thirst after eating here like most other Chinese restaurants

If you're a fan of Chinese food, this is the best place to experience authentic flavours, delicious and mouthwatering dishes. Ordered Prawn Chow Mean and Chichen Hoo Fun noodles for takeway - both has exessive salt and soy sour sos - this was the kids dinners, he had to throw them away - not a cheap either, spend £17 for both noodles. I call back again next day - the owner say sorry and hang up. I will never ever will go there again.

I ate here with my parents and partner, celebrating my mums birthday and we all enjoyed the evening. The food was lovely, all cooked well and all had a nice taste/flavour. The prawn crackers and chilli dip on the table when you arrive was a nice touch and allowed us to wet our taste buds as we decided what we were going to order. The staff were very attentive and friendly, making the experience overall very pleasurable and it was lovely to see that it was fairly busy, which is always a good sign. I would definitely recommend the Zen Garden to friends and family - thank you for a great evening.

Ordered takeaway, was not impressed. Crispy duck was mostly fat, with some extremely hard bits of dry duck meat. Rest of the order was OK, although the curry was gloopy and didn't taste of much. One thing I will say is that the delivery was VERY fast - almost too fast to be honest, like the food was just sat there keeping warm - perhaps that's why the duck was so dry?Would not recommend.

Come here quite regularly and always get a welcome from Ivan and his team. It has been a bit tricky during Covid as they have had to switch more focus to delivery and takeaway so can get quite frantic. However we have never had any major issues in this time. The food is good quality (my fave being the Chilli squid) and the prices relatively competitive for this area.

Chow mein is small portion, dry and small noodles. Chicken balls were over done and everything was way too over priced

We ordered a takeaway, some of it was ok, but we did have to throw away a whole dish because it looked SO unappetising, very pale with a translucent (MSG?) sauce...and it reminded us that when we last ate in, the same thing, see through sauce, we were too polite and said we were full!

Absolutely awful ! Firstly was told the wait was 90 mins . Was happy to accept considering being new years eve ... bit pricey for what we ordered but but sweapt that aside as we was think ohh will be nice treat ... 2 and a half hours later dinner arrives cold and not even cook properply .Chow mein was dry no sauce with it at all we sat and thought ok, its not that we are used to but fine .. then onto the honey ribs they were tiny and no meat on them at all .We spent 50 pounds on 4 dishes and threw mostly everything in the bin Im not snobby when it comes to food i would generally eat everything but im so disappointed as we have eaten here before and it had been wonderful previously

Used to be my favourite Chinese but we have ordered two now that have arrived an hour late and then arrived cold!! Complained to zen on both occasions, was told I will get a call back, never got one! I’ve Started using JP CHEF instead and it’s cheaper and much better! Arrives on time and Pipping hot! I won’t be returning to Zen.

Wow, I have never tried there food but I tried to make my first order was on the phone for 18 minutes everything was taking so long I got passed over to a male the manager I think he was jus blunt and just wanted payment. After the First Lady taking my payment the gentleman got on the phone and said it didn’t go through no payment was made try again I said ok so I quickly checked my online banking whilst on the phone and it had taken the money I explained he he rudely said it’s cancelled I told you that no payment was taken I said but it has come out of my bank? He said no. It was a payment of £20.90.. then we go ahead do another card payment for ££23.90 this time!!?? I say ok go ahead make payment he says no hasn’t gone through again but I check my online banking again and a payment of £23.90 comes out? Aswell as the £20.90 before. So he says il get driver to bring card machine to you I say ok. To be honest I felt so awkward on the phone I couldn’t wait to get of it. Then I call back and cancel my Order and say I want my 2 lots of money you have taken! So realistically If I would have got the chinese (if it come) I’d of paid just over £65 just for chicken chow mein, chips, chicken balls and mini spring rolls... What an absolute joke! Definitely will never be calling again....!!! Such a shame could have been my new local if it was ran by differently!

For the second time running now Zen have forgotten items in my takeaway. They are too busy to check it seems. I had to leave my meal and go to collect the missing items which spoilt it for me and my family. It’s not cheap, and they were fairly unapologetic- promised a free item next time but they said that last time and didn’t remember. I won’t be going back.

First visit to Zen Gardrn having just moved in to the area. Feeling very lucky to have found a decent Chinese restaurant with great fresh food and service from hard working staff. They are doing a great job during these difficult times

Food wasn't bad, but really wasn't anything special. Certainly not for the money.However, the service was absolutely appalling. They expect you to fill in a written form, listing your drinks, starters, mains, and deserts, before they serve you anything !Waiter was abrupt and borderline rude, and made out that everyone did the same, unfortunately, (despite covid) we have dined out a number of times and have never had this 'procedure' before. We pulled him up early on in the evening and told him that this was pretty awful, and the service improved after that, but its definitely one place to avoid.

Firstly, I must say that the food was good and the quality and quantity was fine. This was a last minute booking for us and on reflection we think that we should have been told that the restaurant was fully booked. During this Covid period there appeared to be no social distancing and we felt unsafe. We were given a table and told that we could only have it for 90 minutes. Fine, BUT we finished our starters with 45 minutes to spare and got our main course 50 minutes later - only three dishes involved but surely they could have arrived more quickly. To be fair we were not harassed for our table and there was no pressure to leave but a delay of this length is unacceptable. our feeling was that the restaurant was short staffed.

Good food but terrible delivery service. Generally good food but told delivery would be up to an hour. Told on its way etc. 2.5hrs later. Just be honest with your delivery times please rather than ruining an evening.
