New Dorking Cantonese in Mole Valley

Rude woman, doesn't listen and talks over you , wrong order and waited forever with no apology or refund, food was bland and cold , food went into the bin , terrible experience from start to end ... !!!

We always get Cantonese on our anniversary and as always the food is excellent we have enough left over for lunch the following day. So it works out at around £17 a head, brilliant value.

I'm disabled but they were rude, didn't deliver yet still took my money I have ordered delivery from this establishment for years now but for whatever reason they had today's order as collect,( I don't know what happened - not blaming anyone for that) but when they made me aware of the collection only I tried to explain. I have had delivery from them for years., the reason being I am not able to walk to their premises. I WAS SHOUTED AT"YOU DON'T GET HERE YOU LOSE YOUR MONEY", I think it's disgraceful. I would avoid

The food is made with a lot of passion and love, we loved the ribs, the nuddlers, the simply spectacular chicken. Excellent food and service, Thanks to the staff and the restaurant❤️📝

Takeaway ordered and was disappointed in the overcooked hard dry tofu. Egg rice also had no egg! I will not be back.

Our order got rejected through the app so we ordered in person. Everyone really enjoyed their food and portions were generous. Friendly staff. It doesn't look very inviting from the outside, nor when you go in, but who cares if the food is good?!

Ordered a takeaway for 8 on strictly final night, the order was taken efficiently and the food delivered on time 7 miles away, excellent portions and every body was very happy. Cannot be faulted

We regularly order from here as the food is always great, you get a lot for a decent price! Lots if veggie and vegan options too! The customer service on the other hand is a little off- the lady who i presume is the owner, is awfully abrupt and quite rude! It puts us off phoning!! If they worked on this, the score would be higher!

Every time I've called the staff have been polite and helpful. Really understanding about my partner's food allergy and made sure we knew what he could and could not have. Food is always very tasty and enjoyable. Sometimes delivery takes a while, but that's never worried us.

As a family of veggie & vegan, allergens are not well labelled and the tofu on the sweet and sour dish was in a skin of some kind stopping it absorbing any flavour. Good experience overall but the tofu is definitely an avoid here!

Another amazing meal from New Dorking Cantonese. I have known Linda and staff many years, cannot recommend enough. Fast delivery of fresh hot, food to your individual taste. Always Friendly and courteous on the phone and in person. Portions very generous and will not disappoint. Enjoy.

Horrendous experience. Ordered through just eat and waited ages. When we rang the restaurant to get an update, we were screamed at that they didn't deal with just eat anymore and our order wasn't going to be delivered. They yelled at us to contact just eat for a refund. 24 hours later, a knock at the door and there was the order we had placed the night before! We rang the restaurant to find out what was going on and again, we were abused! She just kept screaming at me that we shouldn't have used a device to order and it was our fault. When I mentioned that the night before they were adamant that they didn't use just eat anymire, she just kept screaming that I shouldn't have ordered using a device. Then she hung up the phone. DO NOT USE THIS RESTAURANT UNLESS YOU LIKE BAD FOOD AND WORSE SERVICE.

Horrendous experience, so rude, they hung up twice and told me to call back later then called me stupid for ordering early with just eat. When I complained about being called stupid they hung up again and cancelled the order. Speechless.

Fantastic meal (take away). The staff were friendly on collection. And the meal was delicious. Full of flavours! A definite regular for us now.

We have ordered from this takeaway a few times before and it’s been fine but tonight I was hugely disappointed. Not only was the order over an hour and a half late, when I called to find out where my order was the lady I spoke to second time round was abrupt and cut me off. Food was luke warm and inedible when it eventually arrived. The quality of the food was terrible and Unfortunately we will not be ordering from here again.

Our first takeaway in Dorking from here and it was amazing. Really fresh and light, not “gloopy” like many other takeaways. Very friendly and will definitely be coming back.

Absolutely great place, always happy to drive the extra mile to go to this place. Best place to go in Dorking, I wouldn't go anywhere else. It is reasonably priced and you can always have a lovely chat with the staff.

We order regularly from the team at New Dorking Cantonese and we’ve been impressed every time. Such a pleasure paying for food that arrives hot, on time and with a great menu choice.

Like everyone we have missed eating out and especially at our favourite Chinese restaurant - the New Dorking Cantonese. We were therefore delighted to find it was indeed open for takeaways during this difficult COVID period. We drove 27 miles each way to collect our favourite dishes and so glad we did. We ordered on just eat app, after 90 mins the restaurant called and asked for our order?, we explained we ordered online and they said no they don’t use just eat but they are on there, then they said we had to pay cash although the money had been taken online, the woman on the phone was rude to my wife so I got involved, they then said an hour for delivery, absolutely rubbish customer service, rude people, and as far as I’m concerned thieves, I CANNOT RECOMMEND , AND CAN ONLY SAY TO AVOID AT ALL COSTS, The only reason they are on the Just Eat app then is to capture the customer and not have to pay Just Eat any commission, Their prices are high anyway, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH,

Yesterday afternoon I ordered a meal online for delivery at 7.00 this evening. The restaurant website uses "Just Eat", the order was placed, accepted and payment made. However at 5.30 this evening I received a short note from Just Eat that my order had been cancelled and the money refunded. No explanation or apology was offered. We tried to phone the restaurant direct but got no reply so had to find somewhere else to take our booking at short notice.

Within one hour of order it was delivered and we’ve eaten. So impressed. Lovely vegetarian options, clean tasting, beautiful flavours. Definitely our new go-to Chinese restaurant. Just what we needed during the lockdown. And the delivery guy was fully masked and gloved for extra comfort.

We had delivery, came earlier than expected and all very nice.

Love the food, so I would have given 4 to 5 stars, had it not been for the fact that they only accept card payment up until 10pm, even though they close at 11.30pm.

The owner is a fantastic character who really looks after you. The food is as good as it gets. Will definitely visit regularly.

We all found the food to be very poor in quality, the star item in our set menu, a sizzling fish and seafood dish was meagre in size, duck was so overcooked that it was dry and fibrous whilst starters were all fried.

One hair can be an accident but whole bunch of them... 🤮 Obviously there is nothing more what I would like to say.

Wonderful little place to eat. The food is really great, made from high quality ingredients, you can tell. Me and my wife stopped by after a whole day of hiking. We've had spring rolls and fried rice with chinese tea to drink and it was delicious and refreshing. food is ok not the best and i must say there curry sause is never hot always luke warm so anoying and rice is a bit bland lady is freindly but chats a lot asks you to many questions about your life shes ok but to chatty and should concerntrate on her food

First time tried the Cantonese at Dorking and would highly recommend to all. Delicious food, cooked and delivered on time. Great customer service and the delivery driver was very friendly. Food order was completed exactly as requested by us.

Great food and great time, Five of us called in for a top night, Some of the guys have eaten here before and know the Lady owner, A couple of drinks as we pondered over the menu, And then down to business, Quite hearty starters followed up by the full flavour main meal, The atmosphere was electric, with the owner joining in with a fiew puns. Pudding and Coffees to finish with and a bill that didn't break the bank, Top night.

Absoultly discusting food and service!! DO NOT EAT HERE! Booked for my husband's birthday dinner, the chicken was horrible all people ended up with bad tummy. The chef became agressive and hit our table when we quered the Bill, hitting himself in the face shouting "I can't cook" I ended up shouting and it ruined the whole night. The woman never leaves you alone to enjoy your meal causes trouble and even called my sister fat! Horrible people and horrible food. Go to the fountain garden, you get what you pay for .

Used New Dorking Cantonese multiple times and it is always very good. A very good menu, recommendations include smoked shredded chicken which is amazing, sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style, vegetable noodles and the lemon chicken is also very good.

Worst Shredded Chilli Beef I've ever tasted...0.5% beef, batter was undercooked, no sauce....horrific. When I rang upto complain the woman was the rudest person I've ever spoken too. Utter disgrace

Went as a group of 5, we ordered the set menu each. The food was not good, tasted like it was from frozen and microwaved. After the end of it we all felt sick and had to go for a walk to work it off. It felt very unhealthy, and it was expensive. The atmosphere was dead and the waiters were very novice. The green tea was decent though. Will not be going back.

I love Chinese and have been to loads of different restaurants. The food here was cold salty and greasy. My food was over half hour late and also on the website it said an option to pay by card or cash. When my partner arrived the lady was extremely rude to him and sent him away to get cash.. I rang up when he got home to advise them updating their website because of how rude she was and she started shouting down the phone at me! A really shame that they talk to there customers like this! Really disappointed

New to dorking, ordered a Chinese last week from the peking restaurant and it was honestly the worst Chinese I've ever had, Ive never ever had a bad Chinese untill then. Also it took over an hour to arrive. Tonight we decided to try new Dorking Cantonese and it was lovely. The staff were polite and friendly and the food arrived hot and fresh 20 minutes after order. Very happy highly recommended

Ordered a takeaway from here, first time. Chicken curry egg fried rice chicken and cashews and plain noodles. Cost £19.20 even charged a £1 surcharge for delivery of less than 3 miles radius. Did not even get complimentary prawn crackers which most takeaways give to customers. The food was just average, no particular reason to order from here again.

We have ordered many times from New Dorking Cantonese, It is possibly the best take away and oriental cuisine you can find the meat is very good quality. The delivery is quick, we usually ordered from just eat until the owner informed us of there cut which is truly shocking. If you would like to order something pick up the phone, they take amex which is a plus. I would like to suggest they include menus in the bags.

I've ordered from this place a few times never had such an awful experience like this from a takeaway .. Few times of ordering was fine never had a problem before till now , food came within 15 mins which is odd and never fresh rice was stale .. and to top it off striaght after I was violently sick and other end too i had to lay on floor for 1hr in crippling pain ! I've never had this with food before ! I have kept food will be having it tested today and I also want a full refund. I am exstremly unhappy and still poorly!!!!! This should not happen !

We went for dinner here last night and had the most amazing meal. Friendly and warm atmosphere and very welcoming. The food was not greasy at all and there was so much flavour in every dish. Can’t wait to eat here again. A great find in Dorking and definitely the best I have eaten at!!

Really nice food and the staff are friendly.

We regularly drive 30 minutes or more to this restaurant but it is always worth the trip, having tried many other Chinese restaurants in Dorking, Guildford, Horsham and surrounding areas and found none that come close. The Malaysian and Chinese menu is full and varied, and the food is always fresh and tasty! What we have also really appreciated is that our friends who have various food intolerances (MSG, Gluten, Lactose you name it!) can all enjoy eating there too as the Manageress Linda is always kind enough to walk through the menu with you and explain what ingredients are included. Some had not had Chinese food for 10 years and loved it. Linda and her staff always make us feel welcome and we always leave with big smiles on our faces. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Ok where to start ... this is the best chinese you will order, the taste the service the price. There is nothing bad about this place so go and eat or order in it makes no difference it is lovely..... you are welcome

I had heard good things about this restaurant and was not disappointed.

I had a takeaway from here tonight and I always worry with Chinese that it's going to be greasy or not taste fresh. The food was amazing! The food was fresh and the service was brilliant. Staff also really friendly! Will defiantly be getting my Chinese from here from now on! 😊

I really recommend this little restaurant in the south street of dorking, it has a really good vibe with a bubbly women who manages it called linda! We was made comfortable and the food was fantastic, also the waiting staff were very polite! Thank you...

Last week we had a meal here as a family it was a really welcoming and enjoyable experience, the food was beautiful, I really recommend the satay chicken skewers! We've eaten at the Restaurant occasionally over many years. It is not what it once was and stopped using it...

La experiencia comenzó con el pie equivocado ya que me hablan por teléfono. La señora del otro lado del teléfono, que parecía muy ocupado, repentinamente colgaron prometiendo teléfono conmigo. Después de 15 minutos de espera me llamaron de nuevo donde hablé con un hombre que era innecesariamente torpe y parecía estar pensando que estaba en el lado equivocado. Después de tomar mi dinero y terminó la llamada telefónica antes de decir adiós. Mis amigos y yo entonces tuvo que esperar 50 minutos para la comida de la cafetería que vienen de está a 10 minutos en coche. Muy decepcionado porque tenía muchas esperanzas para este restaurante.

Mis amigos y yo pedimos algo chino y yo no estaba impresionado. Primero de todo, mezclado nuestra orden diciendo que era mucho más de lo que se esperaba previamente, entonces cuando pedimos pagar con tarjeta la señora colgó diciendo que ella estaría a llamar. No lo hicieron. Les llamaron y un joven respondió cuando nos enquirered sobre el precio que groseramente anunció que había cambiado el menú y procedió a colgar en nosotros. No contentos. . .

Had a meal delivered recently. Chicken satay was inedible - really tough, stringy and over salty. Noodles were almost black and again inedible. Vegetable spring rolls had no filling! Used to be pretty good once upon a time but the delivery food is ghastly. A zero rating from us!

We ordered a takeaway in advance t collect and the food was ready bang on time. The food was piping hot and extremely tasty. I usually pick a vegetarian dish which can sometimes be a bit bland in some places but this was packed with flavour. My husband had king prawn and cashew nuts and had lots of plump, juicy prawns. The food wasn't at all greasy and was good quality. The staff were lovely and friendly. This is definitely a place we would recommend to family and friends and we will definitely be going back soon, probably to eat in next time. They also have a home delivery service which is also a bonus.

Just had a lovely dinner at the NDK or "Linda's" as we fondly call it. Great service, great food as always and such a big wine selection.

We've been getting takeaways from Linda and her family for over 20 years. Always great quality and always so friendly! There is something to be said for Chinese takeaway that separates the lemon sauce from the crispy chicken and allows you to mix them at home preventing the crispy lemon chicken from becoming soggy crispy lemon chicken. Linda is always friendly and welcoming.

My experience is based upon take away food: Duck was overcooked if not recooked and very dry, quite different from what I have experienced elsewhere. Nonetheless dumplings were ok that's why I'm not giving 0 stars. On the phone, I felt harassed by the person who answered almost as if I was disturbing. I do not know if it was her tone or her insistence but I thought she was fairly harsh

Me and my friends are so happy we found this place! Such great tasting food and at such great prices! We find ourselves ordering delivery frequently and is always prompt and still hot when it arrives. They are very friendly and would recommend to anyone looking for great food with a wide variety! What a chaotic website TripAdvisor has got - clean it up guys. All the screen upon screen thing is just a pain.

We ordered our food which firstly took nearly an hour to arrive and then upon arrival noticed it was the wrong dishes. We called back up and the lady was very rude and told us that it was our fault and we had ordered the wrong food. She also stated she was 'very busy' and couldn't do anything about it. The meat was chewy and half of it was just fat, they were in the complete wrong sauces to what we ordered. Overall it was such a disappointment- defiantly will be finding somewhere else. :(

Well if you like a Chinese curry this is the place for you i loved it also had the mixed starter for two, cant wait to try more food from here and super quick delivery too

We visited the New Dorking Cantonese on our way back from Gatwick Airport. Having grown up in the Dorking area I remembered the restaurant from 15-20 years ago. The decor hadn't changed a bit (literally). In fact I'm not sure anything had changed but sadly it wan't a nostalgic return.We were given a warm welcome, which actually became slightly over attentive. Our meal was OK but I can't give it a higher rating than that.

Great service and extremely tasty food. Highly recommend the Lemon chicken, Szechuan Spicy Pork, Crispy Chilli Beef. Wonderful service and Linda the host very welcoming, friendly and a true character!! Will definitely recommend and return.

We were stopping with friends for the night and decided to go to a Chinese restaurant. New Dorking Cantonese restaurant's reviews were very good. Well, we were not disappointed. The place was spotless and the service from Linda was excellent! She couldn't do enough for us from start to finish: very attentive, highly knowledgeable in recommending some superb dishes for us from their extensive menu! The food arrived in good time, great portions, piping hot, very fresh and absolutely delish! It was rather difficult to recommend any dishes in particular as they were all so flavoursome. After trying all the Chinese restaurants in Dorking this is the one we return to the most. The menu is what you would expect in a Chinese restaurant but they do seem to do it better than the others in Dorking.
