Takeaway ordered and was disappointed in the overcooked hard dry tofu. Egg rice also had no egg! I will not be back.

Ordered a takeaway for 8 on strictly final night, the order was taken efficiently and the food delivered on time 7 miles away, excellent portions and every body was very happy. Cannot be faulted

We regularly order from here as the food is always great, you get a lot for a decent price! Lots if veggie and vegan options too! The customer service on the other hand is a little off- the lady who i presume is the owner, is awfully abrupt and quite rude! It puts us off phoning!! If they worked on this, the score would be higher!

As a family of veggie & vegan, allergens are not well labelled and the tofu on the sweet and sour dish was in a skin of some kind stopping it absorbing any flavour. Good experience overall but the tofu is definitely an avoid here!

We have ordered from this takeaway a few times before and it’s been fine but tonight I was hugely disappointed. Not only was the order over an hour and a half late, when I called to find out where my order was the lady I spoke to second time round was abrupt and cut me off. Food was luke warm and inedible when it eventually arrived. The quality of the food was terrible and Unfortunately we will not be ordering from here again.

Ordered via Just Eat. Order accepted and payment taken. Order cancelled by email without reason given 15 minutes later. We didn’t till it didn’t arrive. No refund for 7-10 days!

We order regularly from the team at New Dorking Cantonese and we’ve been impressed every time. Such a pleasure paying for food that arrives hot, on time and with a great menu choice.

Like everyone we have missed eating out and especially at our favourite Chinese restaurant - the New Dorking Cantonese. We were therefore delighted to find it was indeed open for takeaways during this difficult COVID period. We drove 27 miles each way to collect our favourite dishes and so glad we did. Yesterday afternoon I ordered a meal online for delivery at 7.00 this evening. The restaurant website uses "Just Eat", the order was placed, accepted and payment made. However at 5.30 this evening I received a short note from Just Eat that my order had been cancelled and the money refunded. No explanation or apology was offered. We tried to phone the restaurant direct but got no reply so had to find somewhere else to take our booking at short notice.

We ordered on just eat app, after 90 mins the restaurant called and asked for our order?, we explained we ordered online and they said no they don’t use just eat but they are on there, then they said we had to pay cash although the money had been taken online, the woman on the phone was rude to my wife so I got involved, they then said an hour for delivery, absolutely rubbish customer service, rude people, and as far as I’m concerned thieves, I CANNOT RECOMMEND , AND CAN ONLY SAY TO AVOID AT ALL COSTS, The only reason they are on the Just Eat app then is to capture the customer and not have to pay Just Eat any commission, Their prices are high anyway, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH,

Love the food, so I would have given 4 to 5 stars, had it not been for the fact that they only accept card payment up until 10pm, even though they close at 11.30pm.

We all found the food to be very poor in quality, the star item in our set menu, a sizzling fish and seafood dish was meagre in size, duck was so overcooked that it was dry and fibrous whilst starters were all fried.

The owner is a fantastic character who really looks after you. The food is as good as it gets. Will definitely visit regularly.

Wonderful little place to eat. The food is really great, made from high quality ingredients, you can tell. Me and my wife stopped by after a whole day of hiking. We've had spring rolls and fried rice with chinese tea to drink and it was delicious and refreshing. food is ok not the best and i must say there curry sause is never hot always luke warm so anoying and rice is a bit bland lady is freindly but chats a lot asks you to many questions about your life shes ok but to chatty and should concerntrate on her food

First time tried the Cantonese at Dorking and would highly recommend to all. Delicious food, cooked and delivered on time. Great customer service and the delivery driver was very friendly. Food order was completed exactly as requested by us.

Used New Dorking Cantonese multiple times and it is always very good. A very good menu, recommendations include smoked shredded chicken which is amazing, sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style, vegetable noodles and the lemon chicken is also very good.

Won’t be eating here again - ordered a Chinese on Valentines and have since had an awful stomach virus that has resulted in me having to go to out of hours gp. The only thing my partner didn’t eat that I did was the prawn balls. Avoid at all costs. I now have gastroenteritis!

I love Chinese and have been to loads of different restaurants. The food here was cold salty and greasy. My food was over half hour late and also on the website it said an option to pay by card or cash. When my partner arrived the lady was extremely rude to him and sent him away to get cash.. I rang up when he got home to advise them updating their website because of how rude she was and she started shouting down the phone at me! A really shame that they talk to there customers like this! Really disappointed

Ordered a takeaway from here, first time. Chicken curry egg fried rice chicken and cashews and plain noodles. Cost £19.20 even charged a £1 surcharge for delivery of less than 3 miles radius. Did not even get complimentary prawn crackers which most takeaways give to customers. The food was just average, no particular reason to order from here again.

We have ordered many times from New Dorking Cantonese, It is possibly the best take away and oriental cuisine you can find the meat is very good quality. The delivery is quick, we usually ordered from just eat until the owner informed us of there cut which is truly shocking. If you would like to order something pick up the phone, they take amex which is a plus. I would like to suggest they include menus in the bags.

... then I have no idea why they'd have opened on a Sunday. Admittedly we were a party of 14 but we were the only sit down customers. There was a steady flow of take away.

We went for dinner here last night and had the most amazing meal. Friendly and warm atmosphere and very welcoming. The food was not greasy at all and there was so much flavour in every dish. Can’t wait to eat here again. A great find in Dorking and definitely the best I have eaten at!!

We regularly drive 30 minutes or more to this restaurant but it is always worth the trip, having tried many other Chinese restaurants in Dorking, Guildford, Horsham and surrounding areas and found none that come close. The Malaysian and Chinese menu is full and varied, and the food is always fresh and tasty! What we have also really appreciated is that our friends who have various food intolerances (MSG, Gluten, Lactose you name it!) can all enjoy eating there too as the Manageress Linda is always kind enough to walk through the menu with you and explain what ingredients are included. Some had not had Chinese food for 10 years and loved it. Linda and her staff always make us feel welcome and we always leave with big smiles on our faces. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Ok where to start ... this is the best chinese you will order, the taste the service the price. There is nothing bad about this place so go and eat or order in it makes no difference it is lovely..... you are welcome

I really recommend this little restaurant in the south street of dorking, it has a really good vibe with a bubbly women who manages it called linda! We was made comfortable and the food was fantastic, also the waiting staff were very polite! Thank you...

Last week we had a meal here as a family it was a really welcoming and enjoyable experience, the food was beautiful, I really recommend the satay chicken skewers! The staff was brill, and most of all everyone had a good night! Thank you for having us! We will definitely put this restaurant to one favourite rankings!

Mis amigos y yo pedimos algo chino y yo no estaba impresionado. Primero de todo, mezclado nuestra orden diciendo que era mucho más de lo que se esperaba previamente, entonces cuando pedimos pagar con tarjeta la señora colgó diciendo que ella estaría a llamar. No lo hicieron. Les llamaron y un joven respondió cuando nos enquirered sobre el precio que groseramente anunció que había cambiado el menú y procedió a colgar en nosotros. No contentos. . .

La experiencia comenzó con el pie equivocado ya que me hablan por teléfono. La señora del otro lado del teléfono, que parecía muy ocupado, repentinamente colgaron prometiendo teléfono conmigo. Después de 15 minutos de espera me llamaron de nuevo donde hablé con un hombre que era innecesariamente torpe y parecía estar pensando que estaba en el lado equivocado. Después de tomar mi dinero y terminó la llamada telefónica antes de decir adiós. Mis amigos y yo entonces tuvo que esperar 50 minutos para la comida de la cafetería que vienen de está a 10 minutos en coche. Muy decepcionado porque tenía muchas esperanzas para este restaurante.

Had a meal delivered recently. Chicken satay was inedible - really tough, stringy and over salty. Noodles were almost black and again inedible. Vegetable spring rolls had no filling! Used to be pretty good once upon a time but the delivery food is ghastly. A zero rating from us!

We ordered a takeaway in advance t collect and the food was ready bang on time. The food was piping hot and extremely tasty. I usually pick a vegetarian dish which can sometimes be a bit bland in some places but this was packed with flavour. My husband had king prawn and cashew nuts and had lots of plump, juicy prawns. The food wasn't at all greasy and was good quality. The staff were lovely and friendly. This is definitely a place we would recommend to family and friends and we will definitely be going back soon, probably to eat in next time. They also have a home delivery service which is also a bonus.

Just had a lovely dinner at the NDK or "Linda's" as we fondly call it. Great service, great food as always and such a big wine selection.

We've been getting takeaways from Linda and her family for over 20 years. Always great quality and always so friendly! There is something to be said for Chinese takeaway that separates the lemon sauce from the crispy chicken and allows you to mix them at home preventing the crispy lemon chicken from becoming soggy crispy lemon chicken. Linda is always friendly and welcoming.

Me and my friends are so happy we found this place! Such great tasting food and at such great prices! We find ourselves ordering delivery frequently and is always prompt and still hot when it arrives. They are very friendly and would recommend to anyone looking for great food with a wide variety! What a chaotic website TripAdvisor has got - clean it up guys. All the screen upon screen thing is just a pain.

We ordered our food which firstly took nearly an hour to arrive and then upon arrival noticed it was the wrong dishes. We called back up and the lady was very rude and told us that it was our fault and we had ordered the wrong food. She also stated she was 'very busy' and couldn't do anything about it. The meat was chewy and half of it was just fat, they were in the complete wrong sauces to what we ordered. Overall it was such a disappointment- defiantly will be finding somewhere else. :(

We visited the New Dorking Cantonese on our way back from Gatwick Airport. Having grown up in the Dorking area I remembered the restaurant from 15-20 years ago. The decor hadn't changed a bit (literally). In fact I'm not sure anything had changed but sadly it wan't a nostalgic return.We were given a warm welcome, which actually became slightly over attentive. Our meal was OK but I can't give it a higher rating than that.

Great service and extremely tasty food. Highly recommend the Lemon chicken, Szechuan Spicy Pork, Crispy Chilli Beef. Wonderful service and Linda the host very welcoming, friendly and a true character!! Will definitely recommend and return.

We were stopping with friends for the night and decided to go to a Chinese restaurant. New Dorking Cantonese restaurant's reviews were very good. Well, we were not disappointed. The place was spotless and the service from Linda was excellent! She couldn't do enough for us from start to finish: very attentive, highly knowledgeable in recommending some superb dishes for us from their extensive menu! The food arrived in good time, great portions, piping hot, very fresh and absolutely delish! It was rather difficult to recommend any dishes in particular as they were all so flavoursome. After trying all the Chinese restaurants in Dorking this is the one we return to the most. The menu is what you would expect in a Chinese restaurant but they do seem to do it better than the others in Dorking.

We will certainly have takeaway from them again and also use the restaurant. Good service, food and lovely people :)

Very good food a lovely lady serving us at the table with a quick responsive service when we needed it! Crispy Duck starter and Hong Kong style chicken and beef with ginger and spring onions! Egg fried rice could have done with more egg but pretty lush other than that! Enjoy!

We ordered our food at 645pm it arrived stone cold at 830pm we complained and was told very sorry we will give you free meal next time i will write it down.The next day we received a phone call saying she was very sorry as our food was delivered to another house and the driver had to go and collect it and then deliver it to us that is why it was late and as an appology she would give us a fifty percent discount on our next meal, what ever happened to the free meal apparently we should of took the cold food back in other words she didn't take our word for it and being a regular customer i take offence of this so will not be buying from there again and strongly recommend other customers think twice before ordering from The Dorking Cantonese.

Just had the best Chinese from Lindas place. Been using the NDC for a while now but tonight, everything was just spot on. It's hard to recommend something in particular as everything had so much flavour. Keep up the good work x x x Doug & Amy.

We eat here based on previous reviews and was not disappointed. Food is amazing, owner is lovely and friendly and its nice and clean. Bit pricey compared to most Chinese restaurants but happy to pay more for better food.

We went to this restaurant on Friday night - we had been craving a chinese all the time we had been on holiday. It is always good. The owner is extremely friendly and the staff are great. Food excellent as always and if you don't want to go out, they now do local delivery. Looking forward to my next visit.

Whether you eat in or have a takeaway the food is always superb. The service is always good, I have eaten here numerous times and have never had a bad meal. Well worth a visit. I have tried a number of chinese takeaways in the Dorking area and this is by far the best food.

We came from the north to stay with family and came here for our daughters 16th. Expected Tuesday night to be a very quiet. It was surreal night, Linda was fantastic and a great hostess, and we were entertained with "the Irish sick note song" a super local character "M"Food was excellent, piping hot and served as requested. At least 13 different styles of happy birthday in English and Chinese,with disco ball and lights included!!!!!!Definitely would go here again

Went to this restaurant with my family for dinner. Was treated with fantastic service from hostess Linda from start to end. Linda is a truly magnificent host. She is very friendly, talkative, humorous, tends to your every need and has a jolly attitude that makes you feel as if you are having dinner in your own home.In terms of food, this place is probably the best Chinese/Cantonese cuisine you can find in all of Dorking. The menu offers a delightfully large range of dishes at very reasonable prices. We tried many of them and liked each and every dish that was served. The king prawn dishes particularly were very delicious. All dishes were served hot and fresh right out of the wok, and the waiting time was very short, which is always a plus for us.We also asked for some alcoholic drinks and Linda was more than happy to brew them up for us. They serve a large range of drinks here, from white wine to liquors such as Jack Daniels.Overall, this restaurant offers truly excellent Chinese/Cantonese food, and fantastic service from hostess Linda made our experience even better. Having dinner here was delicious, cozy, and comfortable. A definite recommend for anyone stopping by Dorking!

Went for a girly dinner here and were well looked after. The food was tasty and we ordered many different drinks, all of which they had in stock. Good service coupled with good food made for a good night!

Friendly and accommodating staff who made me at home while I waited (not long) for my food. Beef in oyster sauce and veg fried rice tasty and filling - have been back with the same order twice. Two dishes cost £9.80 which I think is quite pricy but that seems to be the going rate in Dorking. Worth a visit for sure.

This place has a real family feel and you know the owner cares about her business. We visited on a Friday night after being highly recommended on their take away service. Ate in as it was empty (but loads of take away orders flowing) and food was lovely. Great thai menu as well as Chinese which was pleasing. Big menu and everything we ordered was good. Bog standard town centre Chinese Exactly the same as most others serving the same generic gloopy staples each dish almost indistinguishable from the other in taste terms! Bland.

The food here is always fantastic, never been disappointing Linda the owner has a great personality and goes out of her way to make you feel at home. She is always happy to make sure my food is MSG free which is important to me as I'm allergic. Eat here or get a takeaway, you won't be disappointing. .

Ordered a banana fritter, no syrup, so they drove back to deliver a pot of syrup, and there was a dribble if that. Ridiculous. Finally ate it, banana was still cold and the batter wasn't cooked. Really dissapointed, won't be ordering here again

Ordered a takeaway from NDC this evening, having read fantastic reviews about it being the 'best chinese in the area'. Sad to say we were left bitterly disappointed. The food was distinctly average... prawn toasts were oily, spare ribs tasteless and the crispy chilli beef was chewy (to name but a few).We had previously been ordering takeaways from the Peking restaurant (also in Dorking), and will continue to do so after this as the food is far superior!

We visited early on a Sunday evening and were the only customers eating in although there was a steady stream of takeaway deliveries and collections. The hostess was very attentive including unsealing the mineral water in front of us. The chicken rendang was lovely but a bit hidden at the back of a traditional UK Chinese restaurant menu. The starters were piping hot and the chicken satay skewers delicious. Lovely historic building too.

i have been here a few times over the years and generally the food is pretty good, and the best Chinese in the town, although that is not difficult!Recently though standards have slipped. Some of the dishes feel like they've been reheated several times and are pretty tough. The place itself is tired and a bit grubby and although service is always good it's not somewhere you would rush back to.Maybe they are making good money from their regulars so don't need to try. I bit more effort though would take them from just average to good. Will keep getting takeaways anyway!

It was Fathers' Day so 4 of us ate at the New Dorking Cantonese on a Sunday lunchtime. We were the only table being served that day (although a couple of takeaway orders were collected). The service was great and the food likewise.Other local restaurants can be packed on sundays at lunchtime (including curry houses). This can lead to poor (or at best - slow) service. I would recommend Sunday lunch here.

Had delievery from here its fantasic. The spring rolls are still yummy even when they are cold. When the food arrived it was still warm and quite good. The lemon chicken which i had was filling and quite adiquete. Would highly recommend again.

We visited the New Dorking Cantonese this week as we hadn't been there for some time, and weren't disappointed. The Chinese and Malaysian menu is extensive and the food lovely and fresh. Service is fast and friendly too. What was also amazing was their willingness to tailor the food to our needs (ie dishes free from gluten, wheat, MSG etc) and unlike other restaurants in Dorking you can be 100% confident they understand and deliver such dietary requirements. Nothing was too much trouble it seems. The hostess Linda was very attentive and obviously keen to ensure we had a memorable meal there. We won't be leaving it so long next time, and we're delighted to hear they now deliver takeaway meals too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We decided to go to this restaurant for a Mother's Day dinner. I drive past it every day and I looked forward to trying it out after the mixed-but-leaning-towards-favourable reviews on Tripadvisor. The restaurant is small but cosy. It was empty upon our arrival but soon a couple more parties arrived. We decided to go for the set meal and this was probably a mistake. The special hors d'oeuvres were excellent : bbq ribs, satay chicken, prawn wonton, prawn toast and spring rolls accompanied by satay and sweet and sour sauce. They were served piping hot and tasted great. The Peking Duck was very average, leaning to not so good … it was lukewarm. I did not think the mains were anything special … we had the chicken in cashew nuts, some stir fried vegetables and the crispy beef in chilli sauce. This was nice though I could never find the beef. The special fried rice was very average too. Linda is a very nice lady and the service did not lack in any aspect, but I was not impressed with the food at all. We might visit again and order some of my favourite dishes a la carte to see if there is a difference. I thought it was a bit overpriced too … 89 pounds for 2 adults and 2 children plus tip. Portion sizes were ok as I normally feel terrible with the huge waste of massive portions in other Chinese restaurants - here it was just the right amount, though we could all have done with a bit more rice (we ordered an extra bowl and we were still short!)

Friendly service. Food was quick. No MSG after effects. Menu is pretty standard but food is prepared well and is always fresh and a cut above the generic Chinese mush you often get. Not expensive and good portions. Not busy so lacked atmosphere but overall a nice place. Certainly the best chinese in Dorking by some way.

Used to come here regularly for take away and it was my favourite place to go. Over time the meat used has become of lesser quality AND quantity.. Got food poising twice from The Duck (peking style). Such a shame as I will never buy from here again.

Phoned up for a take out, was ready in 20 mins for collection. (They also deliver but was going past anyway). As a Veggie, I find it hard to find places that cater for me, but these do some lovely Tofu (hard) and is always great quality! Highly recommend!

The menu is varied with something for everyone and the food is of a high standard cooked freshly for you and the service is well paced and always very friendly and personal. The opening hours are very convenient and there is the bonus of a takeaway service. We've been here many many times and have had consistently good experiences.

Visited for the first time last night and the food was excellent! The portions of egg fried rice and noodles were very generous, the duck crispy rolls were light, fully stuffed and very crunchy and the crispy shredded chilli beef was the best we'd had in a very long time! The hostess was very friendly and made the whole experience a memorable one! We will definitely be back, many thanks!

We were taken to NDC last night as guests of regulars Paul and Tricia . My wife can't normally eat chinese because of all the MSG in the food. Anyway they went out of their way to cook spring rolls etc and the main course all MSG free....all cooked to order. The rest of us all had the full works. The food was absolutely superb and the service by Linda first class. If you want a lively atmosphere and excellent food this is the place. We will be returning. C. McM.

Ordered takeaway from here for the first time today and was very impressed with the service. Quality of food was really excellent and delivery time was quick. Staff friendly on telephone too. Would definitely recommend and will be using again! 10/10

we arrived from Canada for a family reunion, and were taken to Linda's restaurant. She was more than friendly and welcomed us as though we were her family. There were 14 family members, and we all ordered different dishes, which came up all together, and were hot. The food was excellent, and service that we received from Linda was unforgettable. We brought the kids for their first ever Chinese meal here having read good reviews in trip advisor. Now I'm not suggesting that these were false claims and the food itself wasn't too bad, but the overall experience from walking in the door to paying the rather hefty bill was pretty appalling. We won't return and would advise others to lower their expectations.

Food was excellent - one of the best chinese meals we've had. All ingredients obviously very fresh and cooked to perfection. Service was great - Linda the hostess is a real character! Only negative was the atmosphere in the restaurant - there is none! Needs some background music and lighting sorted out. Would definitely recommend.

A modest sized restaurant with easy parking outside or nearby, we were impressed with the levels of care and service by the staff but even more so with the quality and freshness of the food. Really, really good. The senior lady in charge - whom I guess is the owner - is a little austere at first but this I think belies her attention to detail and care to make a visit to the restaurant a memorable one. Certainly be going back there again.
