Golden Palace in Mole Valley

First time ordering, very reasonably priced, however very very salty! We ordered 3 dishes and all of them were extremely over seasoned. We can’t even finish any of them. Very reluctant to order from here again.

Always fresh, quality ingredients. The chicken is so succulent and cooked perfectly. The portions and prices are the best around. Soooo tasty every time. I won't go anywhere else.

A long standing favourite in Dorking. The sweet and sour chicken balls are outstanding!

They freeze everything. Food is not fresh ( beware! ) i have had food poisoning from here twice now! So not a coincidence. Ribs are more fat then meat. Too much chilli is added to dishes that are days old to disguise bad flavour! Rice is batch cooked then frozen and re-heated. Few times food was cold so took it back but front of house is sometimes defensive and rude. Only polite when your making an order with them. Especially the main guy thats always at the reception. Has even been rude to my child! And we've been using this place since before they even took over! Which is a shame as the previous owners was so much nicer and food was so much better. Here they want as much profit as possible by doing everything really cheap. Im not even sure we should trust there quality of meat anymore...check the chicken guys its mostly water filled. 😬...wont be using them again and i really warn people to stay away.dont feed this to your kids or if you have a weak stomach!

The only Chinese I'll order from. The staff are great, the service is brilliant and food is always spot on.

I'm a lorry driver & was stranded for the night on an industrial estate around the corner. This was the closest place to eat and it was worth the walk. The staff were polite and helpful, the food only took a few minutes, the portions are sizable, plenty of veggies and it was delicious... I planned to save half until tomorrow but it didn't work out so well. Highly recommended

Food not great but service a big 0/10 Guy at the counter shouting out and very aggressive. Must have been a bad day but a bad experience for us. Will not return. Fountain much nicer staff and better food quality

We thought it was really flavoursome. Very big portions which makes their prices very reasonable. The duck pancakes had decent meat, and the beef in szechuan sauce (I think!) went down really well. On collection, it was a very well presented workspace with the highest standards of hygiene

Literally the worst Chinese I have ever had, shredded crispy beef in some sort of water, soggy salt and pepper prawns, pork rice with brown meat looked disgusting and dry and ribs with barely any meat on. Not one good thing to say

Friendly staff, good size portions, but nothing special. There are a few different items on the menu, but nothing outstanding. The food is just your standard Chinese fare, but it's still worth a visit as value for money is good.

Seaweed was too salty to eat and the sauces were very salty. Mediocre take away I have just received a call from the restaurant asking me to take my review down as they had offered me a refund. Totally unacceptable

We ordered a takeaway the food was so salty making it very unpleasant. The duck was dry and the sauce was salty the ribs were dry and the beef and mushrooms was tasteless and the rice was very dry. Clearly not cooked fresh. Spoke to the restaurant and they were not that helpful saying I should have taken the food back. Such a shame as normally very good but won't go back there again

Just tried this restaurant for the first time. What can I say it was absolutely amazing, really fresh ingredients you could taste each individual ingredient. Was greeted very warmly by a smiling lady named Susan. The smells filling the shop were amazing and was reflected in the taste whilst eating. Portion size is very large check my last pic, that was left after stuffing myself. I had sweet and sour chicken balls, crispy shredded beef and chicken chow mein, half a container of beef left to! Chicken balls were massive as you can see from pictures and I can assure you filled with chicken see picture attached, about 10 balls in total, sauce was lovely too. Recommend highly, I think you can see it was enjoyable by my empty plate. I will definitely be back. Oh and stated no delivery on the menu that was posted through my door,but as you can see in first pic deliveroo cover Dorking now .give it a go guys...enjoy.

I recently moved into the area and I have to say what a lovely Chinese take away The Golden Palace is, Susan is very friendly and likes a laugh, the food is great every time. I really like the vegi spring rolls and the black bean beef is top notch!

This in in the middle of a parade of shops , with the parade having parking for about 8 cars. If other members of the family want fish and chips there is a fish and chip takeway at the parade too. If all the spaces are taken, there are plenty of places to park in surrounding streets. The Golden Palace has a polite, fast service, and I really like the food.

Really nice Chinese food. Ordered on the phone and ready before I could drive from the other side of town. A good range including some child friendly options; if all else fails they are also next to a Fish and Chip shop.

Used to love this place. Unfortunately my last experience has put me off and won't be visiting again. Ribs weren't fall off the bone and were pink inside. Food was generally salty AF. Guts not been the same for a few days now. Not good. Sorry won't be coming back.

New dish .salt and chilli combo. A big pizza box full of anonymous fried stuff , chips,onion and chilli. Apart from the chicken in batter everything else was hard and jawbreaking. Think refryng from yesterday might be the problem? Threw most of it away. Hideous.

Lovely, freshly cooked, generous portions, tasty, quality ingredients. These newish owners know what they’re doing. New menus are in their window and available inside this takeaway, but all menus online are a few years out of date and difficult to read. We will be back very soon to try some more dishes.

Even though we had to drive back to capel the food was still hot. The rice had a great consistency and really good flavour, the beef was the perfect amount of spice and the chicken balls were excellent quality chicken. Big portions and really well priced. We will be back.

We will definitely be back.

Just love the special fried rices with shredder chicken with bit of chilli sauce, plus the family enjoy the meal as it is smell and taste to great. Plus the bonus of a forture cookies for a full meals and I get the lucky ones or life changing quotes. Very please been with them for years. Very loyal to customers.

We've been here a good few times now and the food never disappoints, flavours are superb, portions are generous, and the meats and seafood very good. They use good quality ingredients and the beef is always beautifully tender. Service is good too and if ordered in advance is always ready at the arranged time, and finally good value for money

Im new to Dorking, this is my local shop which I like the food, however, I have two concerns, I am a vegetarian and on my last order there were two portions of spring rolls, one of them had meat in it? Was very disappointed for the mix up, my second concern is that I never carry cash on me and was told that only cash if its less than £10 which made me go to town centre to take £10 from cash machine when I only wanted to spend £5.00

This is the first time we tried this place and we won’t be going back! The beef with bean sprouts was tasteless and insipid and the sauce was greasy/gloopy. The chilli spare ribs were chewy and didn’t taste fresh at all. Aromatic duck - the duck was over cooked and really dry. I didn’t even bother trying the spring rolls!! Overall, a complete and utter waste of money and very disappointing.

We used to eat take away from The Golden Palace regularly when we used to live in Dorking and thought that it was great. Now back for a visit and find that it has changed hands. Sadly the previous owners did not pass on their expertise to the new ones. Poor is the right description. I had chicken with chilli and garlic, but cannot imagine why the latter two ingredients were in the name. There was nothing chilli or garlic about the taste. The chicken was chewy and it was bulked out with onions and carrots. Some gloopy snot coloured sauce was in it but I am not sure what it was. My wife had Singapore chow mein which she described as pretty tasteless. We won’t be eating from here again.

Poor quality . Chicken dish was not good. Gentleman who took order was not interested. Won't be going back.

I ordered last night 3 portions of vegetable spring rolls 2 chicken balls plain rice special friend rice sechwan chicken and egg fried rice. It was my first time eating from here as I was visiting my parents from London. I asked the guy on the phone to read back order to ensure it was correct. Well the vegetarian spring rolls were not vegetarian and had meat in them. No big deal I thought as I am not a vegetarian and thought simple error. I then opened my sechewan chicken. Well I eat this at my local chinese in London and other Chinese restaurants. Normally a red colour . This was some slimy putrid watery dish that was nothing like sechwan chicken. The rice was glutinous. 35 pounds for rubbish. I would never go again when returning to my parents to eat Chinese.

Have been coming here for going on 20 years. Previous owners sold the place. Food standards were kept very high after sale. Been back tonight, they must have changed to a cheaper supplier recently. Chicken balls more batter than chicken, crispy beef, more batter than beef, fried rice under seasoned, same with the chow mien. Even the prawn crackers seemed cheaper than before. A real shame and hope their food returns to the standard it once was. Very disappointed, will leave it a while before going back... :( Unfortunately it does not let you reply to the comments... I am afraid you have mistaken me. I am neither a teenager, nor do I sit on dodgy benches... To be quite frank, the responses you have given to anyone who is not impressed with your food are as 'trolling' as the reviews you are receiving (not something I would associate with a reputable takeaway restaurant). To be quite honest, I would say the method in which you are handling your criticism is embarrassing.

I am actually petrified by what these uneducated beggars can do to an online site. Why bother, when you more illiterate than someone who is genuinely from the EU?The food however overflows with flavour, whilst these poor scumbags make cancerous comments, without being able to spell. I will give tips on how to spot a beggar online: 1. Cannot spell 2. Constant exaggeration of exclamation marks and question marks 3. Writing is covered in unrealistic material, such as "torn my stomach open" , "put me on frying pan" and "ripped my bowels" Beware of these illiterate Internet trolls. Just recovered from my “experience” at the golden palace,anyone that goes there certainly has a death wish...my bowels have been ripped out,torn apart,put in a frying pan and spoon get to me for my Sunday dinner! Utterly disgusted. Utterly appalled. Wouldn’t be surprised if their chicken balls were actually rat poo. Whoever gave them their food hygiene rating should suffer the same fate!!!! The food I expect to get when I arrive in hell,by then I hope to have built up an intolerance to the foul flavours within the golden palaces food.If I could I would give negative stars!!!! In summary -1000/10 WOULD NOT recommend. On the other hand great place to loose weight (dihorrea inducing) , every cloud has a silver lining I suppose.....

All kind of dishes are very sweet, can taste the sugar even on spicy food and doesn't taste fresh. I've had better Chinese before, a lot better. Shame, i can't reply to owner's comment but here it is... You're mistaken me for someone else because I don't keep telling you how terrible is your food. I'm just a usual person that leaves genuine reviews, i don't have to prove anything but your response proves that you're insecure and can't take constructive criticism and being arrogant. I've plenty of experience of eating variety of Chinese food and it's my favourite but tasting yours i realised food is not what i expected. Your comment defiantly doesn't make me want to come back for more or give another go.

Crispy fried beef fab, service great, a real gem in Dorking.

After a shaky start following change of ownership, they have upped their game. First take-away from here was 50% grease but that was then.

Rice was block of stodge with no flovour and sauce was like jelly. Will never use again

Best place in Dorking & I've been to every other place. Fast, Friendly, Correct Orders and the food is the best... it doesn't taste saturated in sugar like other chinese places, yet is full of flavour and is always hot and well made. The only downfall (which I wont remove a star for) is that they seem to be closed often at normal hours... so I ring to check often or google it. Worth a try if you like good food... go somewhere else if you like something overly sugar tasting.

We always have our Chinese take away from here. We ordered in the restaurant and didn’t have to wait long for the food to be ready. The waiting room has papers dated from a few weeks ago! The food itself was yummy and the portions were large – perfect for sharing. I enjoyed the crispy chilly beef and the lemon chicken dishes. Would recommend.

At the end of a long day, a quich chinese just hits the sport, popped in on Friday for Sweet and Sour Chicken and Special Fried rice, great value at around £8, cooked very quickly, Its not the very top quality but its a good, solid take away with friendly staff, will return soon

The first Chinese take-away that I tried after moving to Dorking a year ago, and haven't bothered trying another since, as I don't believe I'll find better. Food consistently well cooked, not too greasy, and always very tasty. You won't regret ordering!!

La peor comida china que he comido.Se suponía que era un buen chino para llevar para mí y mi madre después de un par de días muy ajetreado. No fue así.Los langostinos estaban cocidas y duro y el bateador demasiado gruesas y pastoso.La salsa dulce y amarga era absolutamente horroroso y probado de vinagre y no mucho más.Las patatas fritas eran apenas cocinadas y el pollo con champiñones y brotes de bambú fue muy desagradable salsa marrón oscuro glutinoso'.Comí unos bocados y luego lo tiró en la papelera. Mi madre era igualmente impresionado. No me esperaba comida gourmet estándar, algo comestible. no se puede ir allí y no se lo recomendaría a nadie.

El Golden Palace ha sido mi takeaway chino favorito para más de 10 años! ofrecen consistentemente bueno, sabroso, comida caliente y el personal es siempre amable. que ahora se mudó alejado de la ciudad de acuerdo con la otra persona que dijo que es una lástima que no ofrecen un servicio de entrega - puedes llamar su pedido por adelantado, y estará lista para tiempo y caliente.deliciosos, frescos y deliciosos chino un comida :)

Give the "crispy" duck a miss, the worst I have had, I think it had just been refried from the previous day, the skin was like plastic.

Ordered tonight based on recommendation all the dishes were overlooked or cooked earlier and reheated. Really poor rice, chow mien ribs all overlooked. Arab Ommatidia duck ok as was chic sweet & sour we will not use this takeaway again!

This is our favourite chinese restaurant in Dorking. The food is amazing and the service is second to none with friendly staff. I highly recommend the Specail Fried Rice and Roast Pork in Yellow Bean sauce. It is a treat; you won't be disappointed!

Nice food. Promkpt service. Pleasant Staff. Not the most extensive or varied menu but very tasty none-the less. We use it a fair bit and are quite happy to return there.
