We delivered Singapore fried noodles and sesemi prown toast. I never eaten like this. Very tasty, good quality, friendly and quickly service. I never ever eat Chinese food as J P & Chef. 100% satisfied. Highly recommended. All the best. Keep your quality and go ahead.

This is my favourite place to get Chinese food to take away. Unfortunately, I went there last night only to find they're closed for a short break until August 20th. I'll look forward to them reopening.

Lovely people and delicious food! These other reviews have it all wrong, they take a while to answer the phone because they're delicious and busy. They take a while to deliver because they're delicious and busy. You want it quick and warm? Go in to order and wait in line, you'll be on your way in 15 or less. We had the chili beef, dumplings, chili prawns, Szechuan Chicken, hot and sour soup, and the list goes on. All of it fantastic. None of it traditional dim sum but exactly what you want for take out!

We have just had the most wonderful takeaway meal - I can’t single out a dish as it was all so good but the chow mein is delicious, the curry fantastic, chicken balls amazing, and the sweet n sour chicken the best I’ve tasted - oh and don’t forget to add the crispy seaweed! If you haven’t tried JP & Chef yet, you are missing out!

We have always used JP Chef for years and found the food to be really nice but having had a bad meal towards the end of last year thought we would give it one more chance. Well that was our last takeaway meal we will be getting from them. There was no taste to the food and the quality has certainly gone down hill.

Yum yum! Prawn balls were the best, for once more prawn than dough! Special fried rice was packed with prawns peas and meat and chicken chow mein was nice not dry. My partner also enjoyed his pork balls and the curry sauce was good too. Good portions and good value for money, definitely order again. The only reason gave 4 stars instead of 5 was that rice was a bit cold.

Absolutely shocking, premises filthy, staff hygiene less than a toads, and the take away had thick black hairs in it! I advise people not to visit here or order takeaways as suspect the hair were human body hairs. Also my children ended up in the toilet, crapping them selves nigh on after an hour of eating food. The staff are blatantly rude and swore at me for complaining.

Great number of food options feature on the list. The food is very tasty. Recommended if you are in the area. Perfect for Chinese food lovers of all ages and tasted as well. Every time I come here I like to order a new dish. Pricey for the small town of Leatherhead but well worth it. Best local Chinese restaurant fairly near my house. I have previously been to other faraway Chinese restaurants elsewhere in London, this is one that really ranks on my personal list highly. Of all the lovely Chinese restaurants this specific restaurant does the best portions perfectly well however. So impressed too.

I live in Ewell and always travel to Leatherhead to pick up our Chinese - nothing else comes close. Thank you Andy (and the crew) for indulging us again this evening with your fine cuisine. Lovely food as always at a great price.

Best Chinese takeaway in leatherhead

A lot of other people have said it, but they take half an hour to actually answer the phone. When they do you are put on hold anyway. Delivery takes an hour and a half! They don't tell you on the phone but they don't take cards. The nearest cashpoint is a five minute walk away. Poor customer service. The food was pretty good though and not terrible value for money. £15 a head will leave you feeling full.

Consistently good food, can't say I've had a bad meal but we do tend to order the same things over again. Don't understand the bad reviews. Most of my family uses JP.

First try of the often mentioned JP & Chef, it will be a long time until the next time, limited menu options, poorly cooked food and rather tasteless.The chicken balls where over cooked, misshapen and tough, the sweet and sour dip tasteless. The black bean beef was all black no bean and the few pieces of beef stringy and I've never had tasteless Duck ever before...... Why cash only?? Cooking the books too??

Probably the best of the Chinese takeaways in the Leatherhead vicinity. The chow meins are great and the staff are very nice.

Order by phone and it's ready when you pick up. Quality is pretty consistent and portions are a decent size, especially chicken balls.

As far as food goes I’ve ordered a few times from here! How on earth you can get egg fried rice to taste minging is beyond me, chicken balls cremated & Cantonese chicken just tasted watery. Only thing decent about this place was the delivery & crispy chilli beef, everything else I would give a miss.

Quality of food consistent always reasonably good well prepared and good quality. Normal ready within 15 minutes of phone call for collection. Never had a delivery order so cannot comment on how long that takes. Fairly good selection on the menu.

This is a hidden little gem. If you blink you missed it. Take outs only but well worth a great Chinese night in. Reasonable in price and food ready in no time. Beef strips on the tough side but edable. Will keep this one as a go to for the future

We used to have a regular take away from JPChef but have not for a while so thought we would try again. The prices have remained the same but the portions and quality are not as good, not sure if the ownership has changed but we will not be back until the reviews show it is worth trying again. There was little actual shredded chicken in the noodle dish, the special fried rice was a small portion and the crispy beef the smallest I have seen, hard to notice in the take away bag but won’t be back...

Sometimes can be a nightmare to get through on the phone as this takeaway is extremely busy at times but it’s well worth the wait - I wouldn’t eat Chinese takeaway anywhere else.

Super friendly and helpful staff to greet you with fantastic tasting food. Jp chef know what they are doing in the kitchen and have an extensive menu which has something for all the family. Every meal ordered has been perfect, just be aware they get incredible busy so expect some delivery delays if you don't get there early.

Great food but never picks the phone up

If anyone had eyes they would realise that for the last 10 days JP Chef has been closed, and if you don't believe me then go to the front of the shop and look!!!!!!!! FYI for those who care JP Chef reopens on Monday 22nd ofJanuary

Firstly, the food here is brilliant - it's my fave Chinese takeaway ever. The Singapore fried noodles are amazing and you get soooo many sweet and sour chicken balls!

Saw a couple of bad reviews, but have used this place often and always been good, so wasn't put of, but was concerned.

The 2nd time i have ordered from this place and both times they take an hour and a half for delivery when stating its 45 mins when we order. DO NOT USE THESE UNLESS YOU CAN WAIT. Also when we did chase them the phone was constatnly engaged. VERY BAD

Ignore the negative reviews. We've been using this place for years and it's consistently great food for a reasonable price. We had a takeaway last night and it was as good as ever, if not better! Good work JP & Chef!

Ordered our food for 7 and a takeaway. Eventually got it at 7.20 as they hadn't even started to cook it .when I enquired about why so late i was told that they just take the orders. Rubbish

Got deepfried chicken with chilli, not spicy at all, chicken non existent (more egg), way too sweet. I'll rather try and cook it myself. Never again.

I have eaten here for years, even done a spot of delivery driving for them as well. All dishes are superb and I find them really helpful when asking for descriptions of new dishes you might like to try.

All I can say is thank goodness for jp chef.. baamm - great food. Best Chinese in or around leatherhead - glad I tried other restaurants to realise that these are the best with the proper Zen!!! Keep up the good work 👌

No son capaces de pedir la entrega de casa hasta las 6. 00:00 h. Yo puse mi pedido justo después de 6 y no había llegado a las 7. 05:00 h. Llamó para preguntar donde estaba y me dijeron que estaba en su camino, no se disculpa por el retraso. Finalmente llegamos a las 7. 25:00 h. Una de las sopas era frío y tenía que ser superficial. Sin duda no será con ellos de nuevo!

Calidad y sabor de la comida ha mejorado, el servicio es eficiente. El único inconveniente es que no, menos cualquier forma de pago tarjeta y todo tiene que ser pagado en efectivo, así que si uno no está preparado en frío, noche de lluvia tienes que retrocede a un cajero automático en el centro de la ciudad. Me pareció extraño que con la tecnología de hoy.

Surprised at negative comments here. Never had a bad experience. Last nights take away surpassed itself as the best I've ever had. All meat beautifully well cooked and tender, vegetables crispy, battered chicken balls light and fluffy - and delivered within 20 minutes. What's not to love?!

Gone down hill ordered about 2 months ago and chicken wasn't cooked so got a discount. Order again tonight it took 1 1/2 rang up to see where was order was and she said he's just left he will be 10 minutes and 35 minutes later turned up with cold food not happy and won't be ordering from them again

We often have a takeaway, from this Chinese, and have never been disappointed with the food, always great and very tasty. Delivery is normally by a lady, who is always very cheerful.Would recommend.

Our usual take away venue closed down a few months ago and we fancied a Chinese. Thought give a try as always people in here when passing so thought it must be alright. WRONG, terrible ended up throwing in bin avoid at all costs

I have never been so sick from the Duck from this take away. Stay away from this place it should have a health warming. Do Not let your children eat here either. The food is off, old horrible.

We often order take away from here and with only 1 exception, where the duck pancakes were a bit over crispy, the food has always been nice and a lot less greasy then some of the other takeaways around. We always pick up and food is hot. Staff friendly even when rammed. Our main Chinese take away choice near leatherhead.

We got a Chinese from here on Saturday night, tasted okay but my girlfriend was up being sick all through the night and all of Sunday! I was okay so we didn't think it was the Chinese as we both ate pretty much the same thing. then 24 hours later I am exactly same, 12 hours of being sick and feeling like death, had food poisoning before so I know the symptoms! we still don't feel right today so I would avoid this place at all costs!

I had a beef curry or what I thought was a beef curry but what arrived was obviously a leather curry, every piece of meat was inedible and i mean every piece. It was just packed full of mushrooms which is a first for me. They will not b getting any more of my money. Lantern house all the way

We have previously had take aways from here for the two of us and decided to treat our guests one Saturday night. The meal came to £90 and we were all looking forward to it. It arrived late but we sat down to eat. One starter was missing along with the sauce for the whole duck. Called JP and the sauce only was delivered 40 mins later. The duck was dry so the sauce was very much needed! When we called the next day and explained that the starter never arrived we were offered 10% off our next order (about £2.30). When we said this was not a great offer and that we would post on here were told 'if that's how you feel ' and the phone went down. Fine for a small takeaway but don't plan on it for a larger group!

I have been ordering takeaways from this place for years never had a problem once. Whenever we order food from JP Chef it always tastes fresh, and is delivered in the time they state on the phone. I ordered the beef udon noodles, It just shows the diversity of their menu, it is Japanese cuisine and it was very nice, beef was good, sauce was tasty, noodles where soft and delicious, other times I have ordered sweet and sour Hong Kong style which is recommended too! If you're looking for a Chinese takeaway in leathers, this is the one.

We've used JP for a number of years and the food has always been constantly very good. However, in the past year the delivery side has become slow sometimes well over an hour for a takeaway. Definitely recommended.

Used to absolutely love this place, but recently had a very bad experience with massively overcooked food that tasted like cardboard, such a shame as we have used it for nearly 10 years!

We visited JP & Chef for the first time on a Saturday night as the menu was extensive and reasonably priced so thought we would give it a go. What a disappointment. We ordered Chicken with Ginger and Spring Onion which had barely any chicken, ginger or spring onion in but masses (I'd say an entire bulb) of white onion - a huge rip off and not vey tasty.We also ordered Salt and Chilli Spare Ribs - only around 3 were edible out of the 8 you get as the remaining ribs had no meat on - just pure fat - to the point where you were tearing the blubber apart to see if any meat was hiding underneath its layer.We also ordered Singapore Noodles and Crispy Beef - although a little gloopy they were okay and are the only reason this review isn't being rated as 'Terrible'. Will not be returning.

Chinese takeaway is not really my thing, my friends and I got a selection and I have to say they weren't bad at all. I didn't find the food greasy which is a plus point with takeaway. All the dishes for four people only took 10 minutes to serve up and they remained hot after we got to our friend's; the gentleman was kind enough to throw in some free bits as well which was very much appreciated. Everything came to £32, so £8 each with full tummies afterwards. If we have a gathering again at our friends, I think we will try this place again.

The only reason I am not putting terrible is because I have used this Chinese since I was a child growing up.. After two bad experiences I felt it only fair to share.I have used JP Chef for over 15 years and all though not always the best I had found them consistent up till now. The last two meals we ordered our normal of:Deep fried chilli beef.Shredded smoked chicken.RiceChow mein (No vegetables)Spring rolls.Now on the last meals the chow mein has been delivered with vegetables, first time i called and they did send one straight back. However something still wasn't right and everything had a fishy sort of taste to it. Putting this down to a one off/ kitchen having a bad night the following sunday we order the same again expecting JP chef as usual to redeem itself. Oh how wrong i was, chow mein served with veg again, this time the smoked chicken was not smoked more like smothered in molacice then charred. The spring rolls (Not homemade) left a nasty after taste in my mouth, the chilli beef was more sweet & sour beef.I did call twice on the night firstly I was told next time my chow mein was free, that was after discovery meal was wrong not having eaten any as yet.After eating a few bits I call back again and explain my issues and offered a refire, I declined as we had friends coming over and didn't want to be eating when they turned up. I then explained I was calling more out of disappointment and that I would shortly try them again. I did try and reorder but was told I could have a small discount. I wont be going back for store bought spring rolls and sugar coated chicken, its a shame because I have up till now always been an happy to recommend them and spoken highly of the food.

We always use this Chinese for takeaways. My wife usually is ill after eating Chinese due to the MSG and grease. However this is never the case with this one. Excellent food well worth a visit!

We've used this family run Chinese take out a number of times. Always good food. Pretty busy on a Friday or Saturday evening so need to get order in early.
