Ordered takeaway to be delivered. Advised 45 min to one hour Took an hour and a half, food cold and far below previous quality. Offered £2 delivery refund, despite being within 3 mile radius for free delivery Very poor

Food was delicious and served quickly. Staff super friendly. A la carte and buffet options. They happily tweaked my dishes due to dietary requirements.

I tried calling to place an order and the women on the phone kept telling me that I got my number wrong and was very rude over the phone when I asked for delivery and happily answered her questions and gave her my number and adress so that the delivery can be in place. So now I'm left hungry lol wanted my Chinese

We have used the Chifan for takeaways for four years now and generally food and service is good. However last night we had a takeaway delivered and I noticed that the price charged was £2.40 more than expected. I phoned and was told that there was a £3 delivery charge (I had already allowed for £1 as displayed on the menu on basis on minimum spend and distance). We live 2.2 miles from the restaurant so well within the 3 miles quoted for £1. I was told that the “system” automatically calculated the delivery charge and they just pressed a button to complete the order and had no discretion to amend this. I then checked previous orders and noticed that on the two most recent occasions I had been charged £2 delivery for the same order, time/day of the week and distance. So there is not even any consistency in the way the “system” applies the delivery charge. I haven’t gone back any further but get the impression that random delivery charges are just added in the hope the customer doesn’t notice it/query it. I also queried the odd 40p and was told that this was packaging costs (not mentioned on the takeaway) and was due to them replacing plastic bags with paper ones. Surely there should be an additional cost for the use of plastic bags NOT the more environmentally friendly alternative. I got the distinct impression that I was merely being fobbed off and they couldn’t wait to get me off the phone . I was offered the extra delivery charge taken off our next order but on the basis of our experience I don’t know if there will be a next time. Very disappointed.

Jessica and her team are AMAZING and so kind. My mother was celebrating her 85th birthday and wanted to celebrate in her home with friends and family with minimal effort. Jessica produced a delicious Chinese banquet which was awesome. Everyone was so happy with the food and the sharing atmosphere and most of all, my lovely mother smiled and laughed throughout the evening. Thank you Chifan!

Don't order from here the food is awfull so I lost out on 30 for horrible food the curry doesn't taste the same and if u order chicken curry or beef curry they put lots of veg in it which when I ordered before didn't come like that and taste s awful and I did ask if they changed owners yo which she replied why I said cos the food has changed she said no.annoyed and it cos me 30 for the awfull please never again

Went for a family meal to celebrate a birthday, food was brilliant, served promptly and hot. Couldn’t have wished for better service from Jessica and her team. Great place to eat and best tasting Chinese for miles. Try it, you will want to go back time and time again.

Called in with granddaughter, after she had appeared in panto next door, for supper. Surprisingly, the place was empty, apart from takeaway customers and drivers. Wide range of food available (we were on a la carte, but would have been very happy with buffet option also). Very speedy service and food arrived surprisingly quickly. All delicious. Only issue was very enthusiastic lady, who kept a very close eye on us, and whipped dishes, etc. away, even before we had finished with them. Still, only a small matter, but did feel a bit rushed. Overall, a lovely meal, and highly recommend this restaurant.

The worst takeaway experience. The receptionist is rude and impolite and lucks communication that placed my order wrong. I will never use this again for takeaway.

Take away looked like half portions. When confronted, the answer was ‘well, the portions are what they are’

All you can eat is a total rip off. Should allow to take away left overs. Worst Chinese restaurant ever. Won’t be going back. Read small print before you order all you can eat.

Been a couple of times now. Perfect for a quick tasty meal before a show @ the Halls. Friendly fast service, nice atmosphere, lovely food and reasonably priced too. Our go to whenever we see a show and if the show good, a perfect evening.

We love the chifan, food always outstanding. Service great. Highly recommend. I see someone complained that they couldn’t take left over food home after ordering from the all you can eat menu…..if we could…..what would stop us from ordering twice as much as we needed, then taking it home at Jessica’s loss.

Came for the all you can eat which is a great price. Little disappointed in the overcooked tofu. Otherwise was nice. Small portions but can order more if you can eat more. Good idea to try new items on menu.

Went in there Sunday night with my wife and two granddaughters 11 and 3 years old sat at the table ordered starters I put my chop sticks down to wipe my granddaughter face and the lady in there come to pick our starters up at a 100 mile a hour and I said I had not finished it then finished and ordered main our main come but after 5 mins my 3 year old granddaughter wanted to go home she wasn’t feeling so well I asked the lady as we had not hardly touched it and my granddaughter is not feeling to good can we take it way she said no and started to pick the food up so I said can you leave it I will eat as much as I can quickly She is so RUDE probably the worse service I have ever had will never touch foot in there until she is gone I can see why we was the only people in there at 7 on a Sunday night that speaks volumes 😡😡😡😡

Had good takeaways from here so tried the buffet for first time, it was not a good experience. We were the only people dining and felt hounded to ordering our meals,and we were told after one hour we had 30 minutes left before our 90 minutes were up; it’s not what people say it’s how they say it. Cold, tasteless and frankly not a great dining experience that explains why it was completely empty. At £22 a head, overpriced for the basics on offer. Too many good restaurants within 2 minutes to bother again, awful.

The food was very good quality and tasted wonderful. Last week we also had a great experience so it's no coincidence that the chef and his team are creating great food at prices that are good value for the portions. We love Chifan and the whole team. Jessica on the front desk is always a delight to talk to and catch up on news. An all-round fab restaurant and our Chinese restaurant of choice in the area.

Chinese Chicken Curry and Egg Fried Rice Take Out! Really poor - Both dishes cold, mushrooms deep fried, curry tasted of nothing and really watery! Shame I was looking forward to visiting to dine in! If this is the standard then best avoid!

Super friendly owner, great food, family friendly. Offer buffet at lunchtime and also do local delivery for takeaways. Recommend the salt and chilli ribs, ha gau, BBQ pork and the duck pancakes!

Had many meals here over the years and have always come away extremely happy. Last night’s meal was appalling and one of the worst Chinese meals I’ve ever eaten. The dishes were mainly filler (onions and peppers) and very little actual item. Crispy shredded beef was chewy and several dishes barely warm. If it had been busy I would have made allowance but we were the ONLY diners so there was no excuse. Won’t be returning.

Food Is amazing have always had takeaway- have eaten in there twice and the service is shocking. The women are rude. Won't be going there again. The young serving lads were lovely and the chef obviously works hard just a shame about the front of house service.

I have had many takeaways from here and they are usually excellent...however tonight the food was appalling!! Utterly inedible, cold and simply vile!! Shocking. If it wasn't the middle of winter, and very cold I would walk back and complain in person.

Surprisingly good. We stopped in on the way back home & weren’t sure what to expect when the restaurant was virtually empty at 8.30pm on a Saturday nigh (Nov 5th so bonfire night ….) - didn’t bode well! But the service was quick and efficient, the food was very good and the staff were very friendly. Several takeouts picked up whilst we were there and more people arrived just before we left. A little gem. Give it a go.

Visited again for the first time in ages and Chifan was just as good as we remembered it. Great food and service and Jessica always looks after us so well. Can highly recommend.

No good at all I was told it would take 1hr 10 mins ok that’s cool but got it 2hrs 19 mins later and was absolutely discussed with the response i got when phone up to see what’s going on with my dinner happy to take my money but didn’t deliver the goods don’t go anywhere near NOT GOOD AT ALL PLEASE LEAVE WELL ALONE THEY ARE CRAP

Normally food this fairly good from here but tonight am not happy with the quality of the food, the crispy seaweed was less crispier than usual, not worth the money tonight.

Great tasting food which came with prawn crackers. The food was prepared quite quickly. I have a few grievances, however. we were overcharged by about £10 when compared to their online prices and recent brochure we received in the post. This is false advertising and should not be allowed. The receipt we got did not include a price breakdown, so there is no indication of where the extra £10 went. Secondly, more should be done to try to reduce plastic waste of takeaways.

Ordered prawn toast and got 6 slices of 1cm bagette hardly any filling of prawn. Deep fried chilli beef was swimming in sauce and soggy. Deep fried chicken with salt and chilli looked like mini sausages in batter. Receipt adds upto 39 from the menu delivered yet charged 47.50. Disapointed

Ordered a takeaway they left out one dish when I phoned to complain they said I did not order it very bad service would not return.

Great food , very attentive service, 90 minutes is adequate time , my wife and I have booked again for us and 15 friends it was so good. What great value.

On trying to book by phone for a meal this evening (July 15) both my partner and I were warned that 'the time limit for eating in is 90 minutes, after which time you are required to stand and vacate the table!' This BIZARRE policy appears to be recent, as we are regular customers, but I feel we have made our last contact with this restaurant.

Dined with 10 people eat as much as you like 20 per adult ,food excellent. Read bottom of menu make sure you only order what you can eat as you will be charged, which is only right stop food wastage. I've never seen a waitress work so hard and so fast definitely recommend this restaurant

Noodles didn’t have a nice flavour, the crispy chilly beef my friend had was swimming in something, the salt & chilli chicken came with sugar on it, kung Oi chicken was a bit too spicy which ruined the flavour, for me and my friends very disappointed, won’t be eating here again, staff wasn’t the politest either. would not recommend.

Cor the owner wants to stop running around and let the staff do some of the work !! one waiter spent the whole time with his arms crossed and appeared to be just watching the diners. Part of the starter was hot the other luke warm, food in general was ok but not exceptional 😐

We ordered from here due to our normal Chinese being closed. The beef and ginger was mainly liquid. Hardly any beef for the price. The sweet and sour chicken, whilst tasty, had little else in it and the egg fried rice was like boiled rice with one or two peas chucked in. Really disappointing won’t be going back.

We did enjoy our meal here, and the prices weren't too bad but I thought the a la carte buffet menu was lacking compared to similar local restaurants with no duck and pancakes, dumplings or salt and pepper prawns which was disappointing. Food quality was slightly above average and it tasted good but I did wonder if it was an MSG restaurant as some dishes lacked flavour in my opinion.

Reviews for this place seem to be either 5 star or 1 star. Unfortunately we got the 1 star takeaway. The crispy duck was OK but the rest was pretty awful.

We went here for a birthday. The food was delicious and several steps were taken to ensure vegans and vegetarians were all well catered for. The owner and waiting staff are very friendly and went that extra mile to ensure it was a special and fun evening. All in all it was a fantastic experience and we will definitely be going back soon. A little kindness goes a long way! :)

My son and I attended this week for the first time for all you can eat. The food was absolutely sublime, far better than I had expected, and served very quickly. If you are like me and fussy, I recommend requesting specifics (ie no onion) when ordering! Highly recommended and will definitely be back!

Looking at Tripadvisor reviews we decided to give the Chifan a try. How pleased we are we did! Parking across the road in a reasonable pay to use car park. The restaurant is well decorated inside and out and was very clean and well presented....

Went out for dinner there, food was ok, asked if we could move table and was told rudely no! Gave us the bill and we hadn't asked for it! Very rude...

We've bought from Chifan many times in the past and been happy with the food, but tonight my starter had a substantial piece of glass in it, which I found when I bit down on it and hurt a tooth. When I reported it they sent someone out to collect it but I was then basically told "we don't use glass in the kitchen" and offered a refund of less than half the value of the meal, which we didn't feel like eating after this. They went up a bit when I said I was going to post a review, but there was no real admission of responsibility and no apparent consideration it might have come from a supplier. We served the dish straight from the plastic container into a porcelain bowl so it could not have been introduced at our end. I'm angry and disappointed, and will not be using them again.

Very poor :( Crispy shredded beef wasn't crispy, and lacked flavour. Spring rolls were soggy, and lacked flavour. Dim sum were terrible - tiny, and overcooked. Sesame prawn toasts were slices of French bread covered in sesame seeds, with a couple of prawns. Stir fried mushrooms were swimming in sauce, which, like everything else, lacked flavour, I think the main ingredient in everything was MSG.

We usually order crispy duck for takeaway here, it's pretty good. We also tried dim sum though, they were quite disappointing. The portion was horribly small for the price. I would recommend to buy frozen dim sum from an asian supermarket, it would be much cheaper and probably similar quality. I guess we just order crispy duck from now on.

The lady owner is lovely to engage with. Good service. And then the food. Delicious crispy chicken wings with a tasty dry mix 'sauce' followed by crispy beef in a medium hot and tangy sauce complemented by a Singapore noodle packed with ingredients. A delight. Supporting local businesses at the moment could not be more important.

Great food had selection of crispy duck, chilli beef, squid with chilli, lemon chicken, beef with black bean sauce , hong kong style chicken, mushroom rice, prawn crackers, beef chow mein. Only the squid was too crispy and didn't particularly like everything else was tasty...

This is the best Chinese restaurant around. Their all you can eat menu is excellent. The staff are very friendly. I have never had a bad experience here and travel some distance for their food. The prawn toast is the best I've had

Really awful takeaway tonight, prawn toast was French bread with sesame seeds, no prawn, couldn't eat it. Chicken curry tastes of..... nothing. I'm pretty sure its changed hands so if your thinking of getting a lovely Chifan meal..... best get yourself a time machine....

I'm sad to say that this evening's takeaway meal from Chifan in Dorking was truly awful. The one dish that was ok was the crispy duck, though the sauce was cheap and gloopy. The rest of the dishes were inedible and we left about 90% of the whole meal, which was not cheap. The flavours, textures and colours were all completely unnatural and unpleasantly slimy. It really was so disappointing as we were so looking forward to it.

I think this has to be about the best Chinese food I have ever eaten in my life. Chicken rice 'chickeny', spring rolls crisp and packed with fresh flavours, chicken chow mein aromatic and spiked with just the right amount of chilli, beef chow mein...

We had a birthday takeaway - the meal for four. Pleased to say it would have easily fed five. Very good beanshoot Chow mein, good duck & pancakes, slightly stingy chicken satay skewers, but not a problem.
