Food is always really good from here and no complaints. Always busy which is a good sign, but you can wait up to an hour to collect. So just bear that in mind when ordering

Absolutely ridiculous service, ordered a day in advance (order worth £135) yet 3 things missing and 2 errors in the order yet according to the person on the phone they checked. They didn’t once offer to re make or replace the incorrect or missing things, I didn’t even ask for a refund, just politely asking for it be re made.

This is the best Chinese for miles , the chicken curry has succulent chicken and is very reasonably priced . All portions are large and good value , very tasty and packaged well .

Have had many takeaways from here as work nearby and they have always been really good. Very clean and friendly. Highly recommended

Excellent Chinese food, best for miles around, boxes are always packed to bursting and tastes delicious, highly recommended. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Only downside is that when it’s busy you might have to wait a bit longer.

Portion sizes, taste and prices all good. Shame they don't deliver as very hard to park nearby. The complimentary prawn crackers are a nice gesture, but would prefer a curry sauce if possible.

Love this place! My regular Chinese restaurant was closed so I tried this take away. The portions were bigger, the food tastier and it was cheaper to boot! Won’t be going anywhere else from now on. Highly recommended.

The Happy Diner is very much a standard Chinese Takeawy. The food is fine and in the current climate it is fairly priced. The staff are a tad impersonal. Free off street parking outside.

Wow! My 12 Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls are massive and freshly made. They have a wide verity of food on their menu. Their prices are affordable as well. Their staff are very friendly and helpful. They also take card but a minute of £10. You can call and pre-order as well.

Easily one of the best Chinese takeaways in the area. Especially recommend the deep fried shredded beef. We’ve had takeaways of all sizes and they’ve net let us down and have always been very tasty. It can get very busy so always worth ordering as early as you can

Great food and really generous portion sizes. I can recommend the Crispy Duck, Sweet and Sour Chicken Hong Kong Style and the Lamb Breast with Ginger and Spring Onion. It is busy Friday and Saturday nights with orders taking up-to one hour, however this is a good sign of the quality of their food. I usually order Thursday nights when it takes around 20 mins to compete tour order.

This is our local Chinese takeaway and food is usually excellent. Sadly tonight has been a nightmare experience. We called at 18:20 to order and was advised to collect at 19:35. My hubby is still waiting to collect at 20:20. Totally useless service so stay away on the weekend. I would suggest to them that once they are that busy to politely decline any further orders. Being greedy in custom giving service like this will sadly lead to the failure of their business if they are not careful. We will only try again midweek in future!

Absolutely shocking!!... Now I know customer service has never been their strong point but tonight I phoned to place a COLLECTION order, was told come in hour to collect... This is a collection service not delivery!!!.... Now this wouldn’t have been too bad however when I tried to to explain that I could get a delivery in that time, the girl just hung up the phone... Well done another customer lost!!!!

We have had many takeaways from Hapoy Diner. Food is usually ready very fast (although may take longer on Friday/Saturday), tastes absolutely delicious and is great value. Highly recommend

Took ages to get through on the phone, lady who answered was not helpful at all. Quite rude in fact. Told me to collect in 15 minutes. Ended up waiting outside for 45 minutes, totalling 1 hour. Lots of people were stood outside for even longer. Won't order from here again. Also, no delivery and cannot pay on the phone.

Really good value for money as portion sizes are huge, 1 egg fried rice is enough for 2 people and you get 12 pork balls in one portion which is loads. Tasty food as well the only thing i have to say is that if you are vegetarian beware as i did find some small bits which resembled some kind of minced pork or chicken in the mini vegetable spring rolls.

Although it's not in heavy rotation, it's a takeaway restaurant that you can rely on when you're in trouble because you can guarantee the taste.

This is by far the best Chinese we have had and will always be our first choice of take away.

Good food, decent portions, fair price

Hard to know where to start : Salt and pepper chilli ribs had no chilli, half cooked veg (onion and sliced green peppers) and was just bits of fat attached to bone, all chopped into 2 inch pieces. Hardly 'ribs'. The chicken breast in lemon sauce was rock hard and tasted of burnt crispy batter. Straight in the bin. Deep fried beef was deep fried so much it was like eating bits of wood. The sauce with the beef was very good, just a pity the main event was only fit to feed my daughters chickens. So glad I also bought a portion of chips which went well with boiled rice. After all, its really hard to bugger up chips. At least the chickens ate well tonight. (I didn't feed them the lemon chicken : that would be wrong. Mad chicken disease anyone ?). Next time I'll go to the Fetcham Tandoori - which is what I wanted to do anyhow.

Terrible Chicken Chow Mein hard Chicken and absolutely NO taste...chicken balls terrible reformed chicken still cold inside 🤮 as for prawn crackers 😂 joke no taste what so ever..... £23 wasted....we come to this Chinese whenever we are down visiting....never again...wind your neck in restaurant you KNOW this is not up to standard...good luck with the loss of customers with taste buds if this is what your going to be serving up in the future

Honestly hands down the best Chinese. I’ve lived in London, Cornwall & Surrey and this is the best around. Order pancakes with extra hoisin sauce. Crispy Seaweed, Kung po prawn or chicken, with special friend rice. Can’t go wrong for a meal to feed 2/3.

Order a prawn curry and egg fried rice along with chips sea weed and a beef chow mein.what I got was 2 prawns some pork and chicken and a beef chow mein. The food was cold obviously not what was ordered and the chips weren't cooked . Use to use this place weekly but seems to be going down hill fast. Won't use it again.

The kerb appeal of this takeaway restaurant could improve, but consistently incredible food, flawless. The menu is extensive and easy to view. Service is always superb. Best Chinese takeaway within the Leatherhead - Horsley- Fetcham- Ashtead area by a long way. Highly recommend.

Big portions and never had a bad meal

Not good , will use Merry House in Horsley, only went to Happy Diner because Merry House is shut on Sundays.

I have used them for a few years now and the food is excellent the service extremely fast and they have got rid of the rather surely man who im certain wasn't rude it was just a Chinese way. All in an excellent takeaway with a huge choice of dishes.

We used to go to this takeaway as it was quicker than going to Zen Garden. After a few months of great food and loyalty to this takeaway things went sour. One evening we got home to find out that they'd messed up our order and wouldn't fix it. You would have thought with our frequent visits they would have wanted to please us. Wrong. We now go to Zen Garden once again as we have noticed the food tastes much nicer there.

Never had anything but good quality food from here, and service is super efficient. The cost of most dishes is around what you'd expect to pay in Surrey, so I summary, good food and service at a fair price.

I went to get a take away Singapore Noodles they was so salty i could not eat them amd my Crispy Spring rolls was far from Crispy and so under cooked they were soggy and the Curry Sauce was like water

Very rude man wouldnt listen to me when i tried to order a sweet and sour chicken hong kong style with plain noodles. Was charged 14.10. I paid knowing it was too much because he had such an attitide i wasnt sure wether i really had it in me to confront him. The other person in there was handed thier food and i took the menu to the counter and pointed out that the chicken was £5.70 and a chow mein with beansprouts was £3.something, he got the reciept and slammed it down on the counter in front of me and i saw he had put through a chicken chow mein, a sweet and sour chicken and plain beansprouts not noodles. Arrrggghhhh. I just said forget it and walked out hungry and £14.10 lighter rather than argue with a hostile rude a r s e of a man. Guess wether ill ever go back!

I have had take away from this Happy Diner on previous occasions as I live locally and all other Chinese restaurants are too far to reach without driving and more importantly charge an extortionate price for delivery. I'm more than happy to walk up the road 5 minutes and get decent quality food. However I haven't had a Chinese from here for a while and wanted to choose food online so we could order by phone and have it ready and waiting instead of placing the order once there. Disappointed at the complete lack of information online... NO menu'...no website...some bitty details on Facebook which would be an acceptable way to find out more but again no menu even on there!!! Nothing about taking debit/credit cards or not (don't want to walk there and find they only accept cash). I believe to survive as a local business you MUST be easily found online. Nearly gave up after doing three internet searches, luckily phone number available and placed order. Let's hope the food doesn't disappoint!!! It's 2018 please don't lose valuable custom by not providing easily accessible information!

Just tried Happy Diner as on our way through Leatherhead and seen good overall reviews on google/trip advisor and not disappointed. Huge portions and very tasty. Two of us (father and 15 yr old boy ) had the set meal C and bbq ribs. Lovely and will return soon. Stayed very hot from Bookham to Boxhill as well which made a change from normally having to reheat as well.

I've used this twice now. Good quality and portion sizes in the set menus, so I consider it good value for money. Now my local preference for chinese takeaway.

Always seems to be a busy take-out store. The menu is big with a variety of dishes available. I've been using them since they opened and I've never had a problem. Food is always delicious and hot. The prices are standard for a take-out and the restaurant seems incredibly clean too.

Generous portions and good value for money

Hemos estado yendo a este para llevar de vez en cuando desde que abrió sus puertas. Está bien, las porciones son generosas, pero la coherencia no es buena. Esta noche hemos tenido algo de comida buena, pero también algunas piezas de pollo muy correosos, un desagradable curry tailandés que era muy muy caliente (que no era la última vez) y sin salsa dulce y agria con las bolas de gamba dulce y amarga. Es un poco decepcionante y no apresurarnos a volver.

Fantastic food one of the best in the area

Tried their Thai veggie green curry which was rather salty, but their tofu satay curry is fantastic, and comes with rice for £6-£7. Good size portions too, well worth a visit.

Great food - some of the best chinese for miles

La comida aquí es bastante mediocre. Mi dulce y agria pollo era muy sosa y también se olvidaron de darme mi arroz cuando He recogido mi pedido y me hicieron esperar 40 minutos para ser entregado significa mi comida. Sin embargo, el pato crujientes era bastante agradable. Sin embargo en general a un precio razonable.

Nos han estado usando este para llevar desde que abrió hace varios años. Aproximadamente seis meses después de abrir nos dimos cuenta de la calidad había bastante caído. En particular, también tuvimos problemas con el pollo que era difícil reconocer como estando pollo! Algún día pasó y les intentó de nuevo. Normas parece haber mejorado, aunque todavía no estaban tan bien como cuando se abrió. Sin embargo, usualmente ellos utilizan al menos una vez a la semana y a veces dos veces. Nuestro promedio es de unas 30 libras, aunque a veces ha sido tan alto como 60 libras +. Hoy estar en mi propio y no deseen cocinar pedí un 8 libras de comida. El dueño me conoce por vista. Voy cada día y asegúrate de que tengo suficiente comida para todos hasta tres comidas al día siguiente.
