I am so sad this resturannt is permantley closed. It was the most homely place and the family who ran it were amazing. Food was always delicious too. Wish you all the luck in the world. Irene and my Late Mum Audrey.

My Husband and I chose this restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I have always enjoyed Chinese food, but this restaurant serves TRUE Chinese dishes. This is not a local takeaway catering to public beliefs of Chinese food, this food was homemade, delicious and full of flavour. Overall I felt like we had been warmly welcomed into a family home to enjoy traditional food. It was lovely. I was even shown how to use traditional chop sticks correctly, which I was over the moon with. Can not thank the lovely team at the restaurant enough for such a lovely meal.

Takeaway Got a takeaway from here tonight The meal itself was nice however for the price neatly £10.00 the portion sizes are very small indeed Not much beef in my meal mainly noodles If you are hungry then choose somewhere else If you only have a small appetite and are not bothered by cost then don't

Well this is the best Chinese in Cheshire! Staff are great and a loverly family run restaurant, Tibetan lamb was great! That’s to ying ying for hosting us.

Overall we thought the food was tasty, but I particularly like my food very spicy. The serve advised that 2 dishes Mongolian chicken wings and Sichuan pepper chicken were very spicy, unfortunately neither of them had any heat in them at all, which detracted from me enjoying the meal.

Food average, one of the meals was incorrect. But, the toilets were not clean with mold showing in most areas. 4 out of 10

I have eaten here on several occasions and each time has been a great experience. Always delicious food and lovely, friendly staff that are always willing to help. Id definitely recommend here if you’re looking for quality food and a friendly atmosphere!

Wow where do I start … I visited this Chinese restaurant with friends on a Sunday night. As I walked in you could not help noticing how tired the place looked. There was a table of 6 just leaving as we were being seated and it looked like that they had left the majority of their food. The restaurant was also very cold, we had to sit with our coats on. After what seemed an age the waitress/manager came over and asked us for our drinks, my friend asked for a glass of Prosecco, the reply was “oh sorry we have run out, as we had a very busy night last night” my friend asked for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc which they did have, but when it arrived she informed us that it was the last glass !!!!! Surely if they knew they were low or out of stock they could have picked a couple of bottles from the supermarket down the road. We decided to order a banquet but asked could we swap a meal from the other banquet. The answer came back that we couldn’t as the meals were picked carefully to complement each other….. what load of baloney. The waitress was very annoying, once she started talking you couldn’t shut her up. Telling us about previous customers, and telling us about her beauty business (giving us her card) The toilets are in the cellar, which are down a narrow steep staircase. It was even colder down here. The food was ok, not great but just ok. As we finished the meal she proceeded to tell us that they are selling up, and that the family have no heart in the restaurant anymore ….. this was blatantly obvious….. no heating, no drink and a very tired restaurant.

Food is always excellent, staff are always friendly and accommodating. I eat here regularly and am never disappointed.

We always look forward to having a meal at Yuet Ben. The food and service has always been spot on, whether eating in or ordering a takeaway.

Firstly took an age to be served. Then when we got food, my soup luje warm, when they collected bowls, I advised this, wlrespobse was oh. Then another wait 30 mins easy , when I mentioned to them after visiting the goblet, was told it will be soon they are busy. I can only assume they meant with regard to tajenout, only 2 other people in with us. When our crispy duck, and crispy lamb arrived. Disappointed the lamb, extra crispy dry. Duck was burnt , crispy and not enough for 2 people. Then our mains. Our chicken black bean could not eat, we had other meals which were just ok. When they came for plates again said to them not eaten that as it was too dry, chicken tasted more like pork ...again comment a smile this time. I believe this was the owner or manager this time. Service was far too long,food very disappointing The toilet down steep stairs, then greater by toilet stained not what you would expect to see. Expensive night for sud standard food. My advice, I would not rush to go here, prices are high, food is not quality. Go elsewhere

Visited on a quiet evening and had to wait an eternity for starters which was only soup so nothing complicated there then waited for a second eternity for mains I’m not sure why such a long wait but it’s put me off returning again or recommending to anyone, please treat your dining clientele more swiftly lots of clientele saying the same thing, shame really as the food was ok

Friendly and attentive service and fabulous food in clean but sadly tired surroundings. Portion sizes are decent and the pricing sensible. Food highlights: Crispy lamb 10/10 Dry Roasted Ribs 10/10 Food and service alone would absolutely be 5 stars but alas the decor lets it down so 4/5 seems fair . It’s worth noting that a trip to the toilets is not for the faint hearted and akin to crossing a Wetherspoons with Everest base camp.

Had a tasty mid-week meal here. Between us we had chicken in yellow bean sauce, beef in black bean sauce and salt and pepper prawns (tasty though no sauce, FYI). Decent value for money and the waitress was lovely: greeted us as soon as we walked in even though she was handling a call, then very attentive and chatty throughout.

We use these guys for takeaway and delivery (we get lazy at the weekends) The food is always delicious, piping hot on delivery, and always delivered at the time we want it ! We've never been disappointed with Yuet Ben either at the restaurant or takeaway... Great work guy's long may you continue...👍👌

Did my homework on here first ( I thought) , as Passing through Frodsham. Blatantly ignored by the two staff members on arrival. More interested in the workings of a coffee machine. I spoke up eventually, and offered to seat myself, Anywhere in the centre...

Came here this time with family and had to roll home afterwards we were so full. Brilliant, authentic food as always, best Asian cuisine in Cheshire. 👌

We treated ourselves to a mid week meal out following lockdown. It was great to eat in the restaurant again. The takeaway service is good and the next best thing for authentic chinese food at home however nothing beats an evening dining out at this fantastic restaurant.Excellent food,wine and a warm welcome from Toni and her team.Looking forward to our next visit. Ordered at 6:30pm and was told it would be a long wait and would arrive between 8:30pm-9pm. 9:15pm I tried several times to call before speaking to someone who told me my order was still being made in the kitchen and would be another 10/15 mins. They asked if I wanted a few free beers which I said no. I asked them to communicate better in the future that the kitchen will run behind even if there’s a 2.5 hour initial wait. Food eventually turned up at 9:30pm- driver had ignored the note and delivered to the main house which is not where we live. Food wasn’t very warm. Both meat main dishes were 40/60 meat veg with lots of onion which was overpowering. Prawn toast was soggy with oil, chicken wings were not crispy and barely any sauce with mains to mix with rice. The list goes on. Overall food was very poor and NOT worth £36.50 or the 3 hour wait.

Top notch authentic Chinese cooking. Long established restaurant run by local family. Tofu dishes are the best I have tasted served with selection of sauces and side dishes. Great range of drinks. Cocktails are top rated. Place to go for special treat or evening meals with friends and family. Situated on the Main Street of the beautiful traditional Cheshire village of Frodsham. Me and my partner were visiting the area for a couple of days and fancied a Chinese takeaway. We came across this place on google and upon reading reviews we thought we’d give it a try and we are so glad we did! We went into the restaurant to order our takeaway and the gentleman who spoke to us was more than happy to recommend a dish to us. We waited around 20 minutes for our order but this was no big deal as the prawn crackers we ordered were served to us to nibble on whilst waiting and the lady and man who worked there chatted away to us, 20 minutes seemed like 5! We paid for our meal, at a very reasonable price, and took it home. I can honestly say this is the best Chinese we’ve had to date!! Amazing food, lovely staff and great prices! Couldn’t recommend enough!!!

We ordered a take away banquet for 4 people. It was extremely tasty and very good value for money. We ordered and paid online, which was very easy. The staff then rang to check the order with us and confirm a delivery time, which was very thoughtful. The gentleman that delivered the food was also very polite. Overall, an excellent experience!

Returned to Yuet Ben for a sit down meal on 8.8 2020. Have had takeaways during lockdown which were great, however nothing beats having a meal out in the restaurant. Fabulous food and wine with a friendly welcome from Toni and her team. It was great to be back and can't wait to return soon. The best Chinese restaurant in the area.

This was our second 'lockdown takeaway' from the Yuet Ben. As we are 25 minutes drive away, we asked Toni to recommend a lamb and a chicken dish that would travel well. As on the previous occasion, the meal was indeed fine when we returned home. The comment from another customer that 'this wasn't an ordinary takeaway, this was a Yuet Ben takeaway' is spot on. This is not run of the mill Chinese food, it is exceptionally good food of any kind. Take time to enjoy it.

The family and I ordered a lock down takeaway and we were not disappointed! For too long I have been ordering stodgy crap from Runcorn takeaways and feeling sick afterwards. This was an entirely different experience! A perfect portion food for all. No MSG to be seen or tasted and perfectly cooked with good quality ingredients including the meat.The Beef in Manchurian Style Cumin and Chilli Marinade was phenomenal! And just when I thought it could t get any better we had the Crispy Lamb in Tibetan Style Sauce which was off the scale!! Needless to say we have found our Chinese of choice forever (assuming they keep the chef!)Oh and the two girls who greeted me in reception with their dog...thank you for being so welcoming! A+++

Went for a takeaway this evening 7.5.20. Without doubt this was THE worse food I've ever been given. I say given because I didn't eat it. What a waste of money. I ordered a curry king prawn without onions. The curry was like water, as if it was made in a cup of hot water. Totally tasteless, no peas, nothing. It all went in the bin. I am never going back wasting my hard earned cash to feed the bin..

We've never had a takeaway from a restaurant before and I hope this phrase isn't copy right. That wasn't just any takeaway, it was a Yuet Ben Takeaway!The food arrived exactly as advised, well packed and just like the restaurant, absolutely gorgeous, all other takeaways are going to fall short of this.

A wonderful restaurant with very helpful staff who are happy to guide you through the many dishes on the menu that you may not have come across before. The food is amazing and the Tibetan crispy lamb is to die for! My husband and I were visiting Frodsham for 2 nights and enjoyed the meal so much on our first night that we returned the following night to try more dishes. We were not disppointed and will definitely eat here again the next time we are in the area.

Have been here several times and the food is always excellent, the staff are always very kind and helpful the waiter had no issue helping us decide between the many options on the menu and i would visit here again.

If you’re ordering delivery watch out for the £30 min order for free delivery. Anything under is £2.50 but it doesn’t say so at the top of the page, only that minimum is £20 for delivery. As a single person who’s already spending more than they would like just to get a delivery, I feel quite aggrieved. I know it’s common practise but it’s the highest threshold I’ve ever come across certainly. I’m under a mile away. It’s a shame as I like the restaurant, the people are lovely and I prefer to support local but that’ll be my last time as a customer.

Order from their website direct as not on Justeat but PayPal payment is available no cash needed. Staying at Lady Heyes glamping and delivery was no problem just be convenient and meet the driver at reception. Food was excellent especially the peppercorn chicken though a little expensive to normal for a takeaway but you get what you pay for. Staff very helpful and accommodating, this is a must know if glamping at Lady Heyes. Thank you.

I ordered a take away which was SO expensive but the portions were tiny. The food was ok but the seafood did not taste fresh & 4 hours after eating it, I had very upset stomach

We visited early on a Thu evening and it was not that busy. The service was friendly and we really enjoyed the food. We were tempted by the set meals but worried it would be too much however in hindsight it would have been fine as the portions were not the largest. We had the toffee fruits and fritters to finish as we were still hungry and these were delicious. Overall an enjoyable evening and we look forward to returning.

Recently moved to the area so have no bias. A friend was staying so called in to order takeaway, not again unfortunately. Food was ok at best, a discredit to the local sourced ingredients the owner claims to use. Maybe we have smaller produce which would explain the portion sizes and being located in Cheshire the inflated price. The food was cold after a 3.6 mile journey home and the containers were half full and no we did not spill any. You may think this is a tongue in cheek review but if we had read the owners replies beforehand we would not have visited.

If you get chance to have a meal at this restaurant you will not be disappointed. As the owner said to us forget about “English Chinese “ and come in with an open mind to try something delicious.

A normal Sunday with great food and service at the Yuet Ben. For a change we ordered the Yuet Ben Favourites Banquet, and what a feast. Soup, Chicken skewers, home made Prawn toast, home made crispy pancake rolls and ribs where the meat almost fell off th bone. On to crispy duck, with all the trimmings, and home made pancakes! Beef in Black Bean Sauce, Pork in Shandong Sauce and Saltr & Pepper chicken, all served with fried rice. Nothing to be faulted, generous portions and notably not mass produced.

It was a special birthday celebration spread over two weekends, on each occasion catering for a party of some 25 people.

Visited with friends & was looking forward to a lovely meal as expectations were high. Portion size in comparison to other restaurants are minuscule. The sharing starter arrived was clearly for two people however there were three of us & quality was poor. Sea bass arrived swimming in soy sauce & the single fillet was tiny, very thin & no evidence of any ginger or spring onion. Every time I’ve had this dish at other restaurants I’ve struggled to finish due to the generous two fat fillets of fish. All you could taste here was soy sauce which shouldn’t be the case with this dish. The broth should be pale & clean tasting of ginger & spring onion. My friends & I like to get different dishes so we can each sample other dishes, but there wasn’t enough to enable us to do this. There was barely enough rice either. I didn’t want dessert but had to because I was so hungry! Poor choice of dessert also.

Went here last night for the 1st time in a few years and the food was great. Staff very Friendly and helpful in every way. Will start going more often now as enjoyed my meals.

In Frodsham for the day and we came here based on the reviews, however felt like we were in a different place. My boiled rice was a bit hard and partially stuck together and just didn't look, or taste fresh, the bits of chicken were over cooked and greasy and the portion size of the mains is very small considering the price. We ate it as we hadn't eaten all day and also needed somewhere to be, but we wouldn't return here again if we visit Frodsham. In my opinion the decor could really do with being updated also.

This place used to have a great reputation off the back of its Liverpool place. The house wine is disgusting the food was very poor and the waitress/ owner too chatty. The decor is tired and the prices too high

Nothing outstanding here there seems to be an air of complacency and you can’t differentiate the food from any take away in Runcorn. We have been several times and it is cold and the restaurant and toilets need a refit-

Lovely meal apart ordering sweet. Asked for toffee fruits to be told it would take 30 mins to arrive as only one chef working. Was suprised at this as it was a Saturday night and you would have thought there would have been more than chef. Found the staff unhelpful.

Popped in on a quiet Sunday evening and had a wonderful meal. The restaurant has a very traditional feel about it, it's not ultra modern but clean and comfortable.

We went to this excellent restaurant to celebrate a friends 75th birthday, and a thoroughly good evening it was with excellent food and good company.

Great place to go, the menu has a great selection of food and tastes better and different than any chinese food I have eaten previously! As soon as we entered we were shown to a lovley table and the service was great. I was served primary by a young lady with short hair, who let me take home the ribs for my dogs! she was very kind and put them in a box for me to take home. She, as well as the rest of the staff were brilliant on a busy night and offered a warm service. Would recomend for the family!

We visited again last night and are continued to be very impressed by the Yuet Ben. It has made a few changes over the years in how the restaurant has evolved front of house but the food remains as authentic and delicious as ever. We enjoy the fact the chef will give our spicy dishes a little extra heat because he knows that's what we enjoy.

The best Chinese food I have ever had the pleasure to eat, my friends and I didn’t look at the menu we just asked to be inspired and inspired we were. They brought us out food we had never tried and it was all amazing, we all agreed that the bill with drinks would be around £50-£60 per head and would all be happy to pay it. £34 each if you ever find yourself in Frodsham and you like Chinese food this is the place, that good I would get a train from Manchester rather than go into China town.

Popped in here for a nice meal with my friend on Sunday. The waiter helped us pick what to eat and the food came at a reasonable time. The food was really nice. Would come back.

We have dined at the Yuet Ben countless times over the last 10 years and have, up until recently, always enjoyed our experience. Unfortunately, both my partner and I feel that last night is likely to have been our last visit to the Yuet Ben. The quality of the food is high - it really is delicious. However, we do not expect to have our meal ruined by the intrusive rants and moans of (who we assume is) the Manager. Throughout the evening, we could hear her moaning about telephone customers, relaying stories to her front-of-house staff about how annoying customers had been. We could also hear her having personal conversations with her staff, within which she used inappropriate language. To top it off, we could hear her shouting in the kitchen a number of times. We are incredibly disappointed, as the dining experience was always so pleasant at the Yuet Ben when Joshua was front-of-house. Our last 3 or 4 visits have been since Joshua has moved into the kitchen and things just haven't been the same with the overall experience. The quality of the food will always be an important factor when visiting any restaurant, but this must be paired with an appropriate and easy dining environment. I hope the Manager will take on board this review as we would genuinely be upset to cross the Yuet Ben off our list!

Visited this restaurant with my friend. We opted for the early evening menu. Although the sauces were different to what I am used to I really enjoyed them. Staff were friendly and welcoming and helped me decide on my menu choices.

Just turned up out the blue late Friday night about 8.30 very quite in the restaurant. Restaurant it self was spotless the lady and gent who served us were very friendly and talkative. The beef meal I had was very nice and the meal my veggies friend had of salt and pepper tofu was I believe very nice too. I had a little bit of the tofu and not being a veggie head was really surprised at how nice it was. The hot and sour soup was fantastic and I do not say that lightly. !!!! The meals were served on hot plates which is a bonus as that’s my biggest bug bear food being put onto cold plates !!!! But was very impressed by the meals. The toilets here are down a steep set of stairs so if you have had one to many beware!!!! There is a disabled chair lift for the disabled down to the toilets. Which as I was informed was the only thing they were allowed for disabled people due to the age of the building. The lady who owned the restaurant was very chatty and informative and had a lot of time to offer her patrons. In all a very nice visit and would definitely go back again and recommend this restaurant to my friends. Well done to the chef and the staff for a nice evening.

My wife and I visited this small gem of a restaurant in Frodsham one Friday evening with family after it was recommended to us by neighbours. We can't thank them enough since this was one of the best meals I have had in a long time with extremely pleasant staff and owner.

I visited with my wife last weekend for the first time. The food was amazing and so were the staff. The blonde waiter knew the menu inside and out and was very friendly and attentive. The owner was also a delight and provided us with amazing service. We will return!

Whenever we're in Frodsham for a music concert at the Conservative Club, we always have a meal at the Yuet Ben. Family owned and run, the food is exceptional.

Booked a table for 3 on a Friday evening. Staff were very attentive. Great menu with good vegetarian choice for me. Try the 'southern' sweet and sour sauce on the tofu - delicious! Wine we ordered was out of stock but the owner recommended an alternative that was really good and went well with our meal. Noticed they were doing well with their take-away delivery service too.

Looked online at the menu and phoned through for a King prawn chow mein and prawn crackers. Although it did not list this item,they said no problem. Picked it up and was charged £14 plus for it. On the way home I did question it myself! When I got home I opened it and the container wasn't even full! I phoned them back and asked if they had overcharged me for this item but they said No, as this was a Restaurant and not a takeaway it was restaurant prices. Why do they put food in takeaway containers then if they are not a take away? It was double the usual price of a takeaway. I for one will never use this place again and hopefully stop other people using it as a takeaway by reading this review!

First time here, usually go to the other Chinese in Frodsham. Wanted a change and it was a good decision. Food was lovely, many dishes on menu unique to the restaurant. Good portion sizes too. Only slight gripe was food served slightly sporadically. But we all ate everything and will def return.

Me and my good friend visited this establishment, and were very satisfied with the food. However another member of staff was stood talking to a table for around 40-50 minutes. We assumed the table were her friends however as the manager of a very well respected store I know that customer service is everything & I felt this member of staff could have been doing more to help other customers. Apart from that it was a fantastic evening, would highly recommend and we will be back.

We went here to celebrate my birthday having been recommended by some friends and were not disappointed. Really warm welcome from the staff and the food was excellent. Fantastic family restaurant, will definitely be coming back soon!
