We have been visiting Chows eating house for about 20 years. Very disappointed on our last occasion, very expensive £125 for two of us, no alcohol on the bill just soft drinks. The service was not the best, I don’t think the waiter/waitress spoke to us once other than when we ordered!! When you are paying that much you expect the service to go the extra mile.. The food was nice, nothing special though. Very disappointed- that will probably be our last visit!

Absolutely the best Chinese Restaurant. Food is excellent such lovely quality and cooked to perfection. Staff so attentive nothing is to much trouble for them.

Fish and chips were worth the journey from Wales. We had to queue but it was worth the wait. Exceptional food. Tasty, hot and reasonably priced. Well worth a visit. Thanks guys

What can I say other than Wow we booked in on 10th to celebrate Chinese new year the Year of the Dragon 🐉 the food the staff the atmosphere were all absolutely amazing 👏 the staff were so polite and attentive we had an absolutely amazing evening the dancers and kung fu was amazing highly highly recommend cannot recommend any higher

Food was nice and service very pleasant although they seem to be very fast to take your unfinished food away 🤣 ( I just needed a moment break) The only criticism would be to prices that is why only 3stars. 3 spring rolls £9 Small starter platter for2 £26 Slightly too expensive for what it was and probably that’s why we were the only people there.

I’m a longstanding Chow’s customer and am genuinely grateful this is on my doorstep. If anyone visits the Wirral, I recommend Chows, or more likely, take them there, knowing that it’s great quality. There’s a great variety of food meaning you can have both really impressive, standout dishes and crowd pleasers too. The service is always warm and friendly. As a massive plus, they offer a vegetarian menu, and a gluten free which is suitable for coeliacs. This is so highly unusual for any restaurant and they deserve a massive amount of praise for this - one of the many reasons I keep coming back.

Called into Mr Chows to purchase a gift voucher to the value of £200. No welcome or greeting from the 2 members of staff that dealt with me ,in fact one of the said ‘ you can do this on line ‘ l am so glad l didn’t. I simply asked have they got wheelchair facilities only to be told the only entrance is up 3 steep steps no ramp available you will have to lift the wheelchair up the steps . No disabled toilet which made me decide this restaurant does not care enough to facilitate disabled people. When l questioned this ‘ l only work here’ l asked to see the manager who was not available. Found this unacceptable and could’ve been dealt with in a more courteous manner . Would not recommend this restaurant although did not have the chance to comment on the meal .

Delicious food and great service. Opted for banquet on menu - portions more than generous with staff happy to pack up uneaten food as a “carry out” for later House wine excellent

We visited as a party of 19 for a reunion. We were seated as we requested in the two alcoves in The champagne bar side of the restaurant. Staff were lovely and did all they could to make our evening enjoyable. We had the dim sum platters and crispy duck which came out promptly and piping hot. Lovely evening. The lovely lady we asked to take our photos at the end of the night went over and above to capture our memories of a fabulous evening - Thank you so much and Well done Chows 👏🙌

Gorgeous food. Really nice and fresh. I loved the salt and pepper king prawns, and my boyfriends favourite was his main which was a chicken in spring onion and black bean sauce. And he said the duck spring rolls were amazing and really well filled with the meat. Lots of good vegetarian options too as I am pescatarian and don’t eat meat. Sweetcorn soup was delicious! We will be back. It was a little more on the pricy side but the portions are very big I think they are sharing portions. And the bill wasn’t as much as we thought it would be. If you order what you want separately it most likely will work out cheaper than getting the banquet. As there was only two of us a banquet didn’t see worth it so we just ordered what we could manage and what we wanted and it was perfect!

Went there on a recommendation & I have to say, I've had better Chinese food. It was expensive for what it was. Plus, I'd booked for us to have a meal in the champagne bar but we were put in the restaurant. We had a table for 2 with 2 large parties either side of us who were really noisy. When I checked to make sure we were at the right table because of booking the bar, we were told that they can't always accommodate requested bookings & that they had put us there so that we could see the sunset out of the window as it was an anniversary celebration. Hardly romantic stuck in the middle of 2 large groups! So, not a great experience & we won't bother going back as there are much lovelier & more reasonably priced restaurants on the Wirral we can go to.

So drove from liverpool at rush hour took us 45 minutes to get here but always like to try new places based on recommendations. Staff were so lovely with our children this really does make a difference and the main reason I will come back. Food was really nice. It was over priced but service made up for it, no car park so bit stressful trying to park if ur not from the area. The best thing about it all is that we was not rushed at all this is.the main thing as when people eat out they want to be out for more than an hour when the bill is costing alot. The staff here really are so chilled and so polite they let u relax and enjoy a drink without being rushed whitch makes such a difference

Really superb meal, delicious food and the staff were so kind and friendly to my seven year old (it was her birthday) and my ten year old. The waitress found chopsticks in their particular colours and they loved talking to her. Quality of the food...

We haven’t been to Chows for a while although we have never been disappointed. The menu has changed and seems more simplified and sophisticated than before and also more expensive but the food was absolutely beautiful and well worth the money. Couldn’t fault anything.

Great food and service, but it's pretty expensive. There's a nice atmosphere, the staff are lovely, the food is really good, and there's a choice of beer and wine, but it's definitely not a cheap meal out.

Whilst the food is lovely, we left early. The restaurant was full of group bookings who were very noisy. That would have been fine but we were there as a couple and couldn’t hear ourselves over the noise. There were people leaning on our table...

It was good to return to the newly refurbished Chows. Same great food and service in a slightly smaller restaurant.

We have missed chows so much during lock down! It’s our favourite family restaurant. We were delighted to find out that chows is doing take out and delivery. This evening we had the most amazing chows meal delivered to our home still absolutely piping hot. Thank you so much for an amazing meal. We can’t wait for the next take out and also to be back in your beautiful restaurant.

On a nice evening in December me and some friends entered the diner surprised to be kept waiting for 10 minutes! We were pretty dissatisfied already but thought we would give it a go as we were ready to head off to the Burleydam so we stayed and got sat down and ordered some refreshing drinks which were at a whopping price then after another 30 minute wait we had decided what to order and the waiter said that we were being too loud because we had our friend who is a rapper and was singing for us so we told him that he needs deliver our fine cuisine and he came back with burnt duck and greasy food I was quite shocked to say the least

We had a Takeaway from Chows for my Sons 14th birthday, as always the food was outstanding particulary the Cripsy duck and the Salt and pepper king prawns. There was no waiting around as the meal was ready to go.. The whole family loved it and can't wait to go again. I fully recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good food..

I have visited Chows for many years and the food and service has never failed to disappoint. During lockdown my husband and I have had many takeaways, all of which have been of the usual exceptionally high standard. Great care has been taken to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable and they take all relevant precautions in these difficult times. Chows are as accommodating as they can possibly be and nothing has ever been too much trouble. Thank you to all the team at Chows for providing such wonderful high quality food- we can’t wait until you’re able to open so we can come for a big family meal at our favourite restaurant!

We visited Chows on Sunday 20th December.On arrival we were told they needed our table back in an hour and fifteen minutes!This despite no time limit being specified when we booked.When we protested we were shown to" another table" by the side of the toilets.During our meal several people visited the toilets but none wore a mask to walk there through the restaurant. When we challenged our serving staff on this we were told there was nothing they could do. We note that today it was announced that Cheshire will go into Tier 3 on Saturday!The food was no better than adequate (food from the Imperial in Heswall is better) and expensive. The wine is the best feature of Chows.In these perilous times it is not good enough for restaurants to pass the buck .Keith

It all started so badly. Our table for three adults (over 21 is specified on their web site!) was a bench with three stools in an alcove with a speaker in a corner high up and bright white Xmas lights all around. It was cramped, hot, noisy and uncomfortable. Fair play to our waiter who eventually moved us to a table in the window which again had high stools rather than chairs, after an hour we were again very uncomfortable.Chows is renowned for its food. We started with a sharing plate of Dim Sum which was excellent with the exception of a tasteless samosa (hardly Chinese).Our main course choices of crispy beef, Kung Po king prawns and another king prawn dish together with Chinese greens side all suffered from a total lack of seasoning and taste. Whilst they are to be commended by a lack of MSG it is unforgivable not to use more garlic, ginger, chillies etc.We had 5 cocktails, the lychee martinis were excellent as was the old fashioned. However, when you serve a premium gin and tonic it should arrive neat with bottled tonic on the side...ours arrived already mixed.A disappointing evening and I cannot forgive the uncomfortable seating and bland food.I last ate here about 15 years ago when it was top dog. I will not be returning.Despite our very poor experience I felt sorry for the COVID impact to their business and paid in full the £130 bill with a cash tip on top.

We love Chows. It’s the best restaurant on the wirral and compared to Liverpool’s China town restaurants it’s leagues ahead. sui mai dumplings, duck spring rolls and Malaysian curry for me every time. The kids love the kim do ribs and various dishes. It’s all fabulous. We’ve also been looked after superbly during this years lockdowns with great take out services.

We had wonderful and generous service from Mr Chows. The food was delicious and a vast amount to chose from. We were initially hoping to eat in but due to Covid we viewed the menus on line and purchased Banquet D . Five fully satisfied customers age, thankyou Helen and Cath. The cake topped off the celebration beautifully for our daughter.

Thank you to all the staff at Chows who consistently turn out such wonderful food. Very easy to arrange takeaway order and pick up was simple. We ordered our family favourite .. banquet B. What a treat to eat awesome restaurant food at home.

Couldn't fault the quality of the food, staff seemed friendly. Had heard a lot of good things about Chows, I will be going back in the near future.

We had a lovely meal tonight... Quite obviously the best Chinese on the wirral... Everywhere else pales into insignificance... So we ordered a bottle of new Zealand sauvignon blanc cloudy Bay £22 in morrisons £28 on their menu... So that's OK .. Ordered 2 double brandys to finish off... Henessy... So our food came to £56... Our sauvignon blanc was presented on the bill not as £28 on the printed menu but £45 and to my partners horror £60 for 2 double brandies... So in all our little meal out cost us £161 in Mr chows... Beware of charges not as printed on menu... Shocked and skint from a Thursday night quickie...

The best Chinese in liverpool/wirral area without doubt. Food is always unbelievable as is the service. A great family run restaurant have to try it if you live in the area.

A huge thank you to the staff at Mr Chows for making my lockdown birthday special. I’m a regular customer and not once have I had an issue with my food which is very rare. Every single visit is as amazing as the other. It was my birthday and they surprised me with the most beautiful birthday cake which made me cry because it rare that people are truly as thoughtful as this. They made my birthday so special and I’m grateful for that. I drive a very long distance for this food and have for 15 years due to the quality and taste....unbeatable as ALWAYS X

Another fantastic meal enjoyed by all the family.I visit this restaurant regularly with both friends and family and was really missing a good Chinese due these tough times of covid 19..I had never had a takeaway from Mr chows before so was a bit worried it would leave me disappointed as restaurant is such a high standardI need not of worried It was fabulous from start to finish to the same restaurant standard.Food was pipping hot when got home (eastham) and all order was correct and clearly marked...Every family member thoroughly enjoyed there meal and there was plenty of food to go around.We was happy to pay the price of restaurant for takeaway as we know the staff didn't have to come in and work when they don't need too and also we know we are getting 5 star Chinese.Picking the meal up was very professional and follow strict guidelines for both us as a customer and them as staff.We will certainly be using again as takeaway service until our favourite restaurant opens again.A big thank you to staff and chefs for all the hard work and effort........thank you

We use Chows fairly regularly for take aways, as the food is always excellent. The team are doing a great job managing timed collections in these tough times, so we can all still enjoy the great food. Thank you 👍🏻

I have dined at Mr Chows for many years, the food is fantastic, the staff make me feel very welcome and quite simply it is the place to be for Chinese food on the Wirral, due to the circumstances i wasn’t able to dine in the restaurant, however I was able to order a take away at a time that suited me. The food was to its normal high standard. 10 out of 10 from me. X

During lockdown we had a set menu to be delivered to our house. This consisted of sweet and sour chicken, beef in blackbean sauce and Malaysian chicken. Whilst they were all stunning, the Malaysian chicken was incredible!! It was £45 for everything, including delivery (and 2 large portions of rice). The portions were very generous and would easily feed a family of 4. Fantastic value in my opinion.

Due to the current Covid circumstances we had a banquet from chows eating house to take away. We had Banquet A and costs £24 per head. For £72 for the whole meal we weren’t overly impressed. I thought they may have lowered the price slightly as taking away and not dining in the restaurant should be charged at a lower rate (my personal opinion). The chicken and sweet corn soup to start was lovely as were the spring rolls, ribs, crispy won tons and prawn toast. All of these very delicious however we weren’t given a huge amount of these. The mains were also nice but nothing special. You can get much more for your money in other local Chinese restaurants. Ive dined in Chows eating house before and much preferred eating in the restaurant than taking away. If they lowered their prices I’m sure they would get a lot more custom.

Chows is definitely the best Chinese I’ve ever had. The ingredients are fresh and excellently prepared . Have eaten in and had takeaways. Easily the best Chinese on the Wirral

Fantastic banquet at home with beautiful soup, range of dim sum and mains. Plus seaweed, of course. Most importantly, super hygienic pick up procedure, where you are given a dedicated 10 minute pick up window, and you physically collect with no human contact and the area is then sanitised for the next window. Can’t recommend enough.

Quick and amazing polite service , and tasty food! Not alot for children to eat but waitors will make kids meals

I’ve been coming to Mr chows since I was 17 years old and I can hands down say it is THE best Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to. I couldn’t possibly go anywhere else after visiting here as nothing comes close. I drive an hour to get here because of how perfect the food is. Even my 2 year old daughter loves the chicken fried rice and she’s fussy.The salt and pepper diced chicken fillet is unreal! I’ve never tasted chicken cooked to perfection like I have in here. I’ve been that much that the waitresses don’t bother asking what I want anymore because they know the answer LoLGreat staff, great food and just generally a beautiful restaurant. We were recommended chows eating house from a friend. Upon arrival the staff were very attentive and friendly we were shown to our table and proceeded to order our wine and food. They have a great selection of vegetarian meals which pleased me very much. The food was very good the only reason we are not giving this place 5 stars was the fact that the staff insisted on pouring the wine something me and my husband like to do ourselves and my main meal which was a tad too salty. But what really impressed me was the managers response to my meal. She couldn’t be anymore accommodating. She stated that next time we come in if I mention that I don’t like anything too salty they will cater to my needs. Will definitely be back, well worth the drive.

The Banquet was massive, and food quality great throughout, service quick and friendly staff. The Lion Dancing and Kung Fu entertainment was really great, as good as any Ive seen in Hong Kong and China A really enjoyable Afternoon, great location too

We were a group of 4 friends who decided to visit Chows as we hadn’t visited for some time. I made an online booking 4 weeks before for a Saturday night at 8 pm. We arrived on time and were shown to what could only be described as a high bar table with 4 high stools. There were two of these tables tucked round the corner from the main eating area by the bar,, the other one occupied by two people. We asked to be moved to a round table for 4 like other groups of 4 who were already seated. We were told there were no other tables despite a similar size group arriving just after us and being shown to a round table in the main eating area. I asked one of the staff why we had been allocated this particular table she told me that I must have requested a high table when I booked! Having revisited the online booking form there is nowhere to put such a request, even if I wanted to. We decided to leave as the table was not only uncomfortable but extremely cramped and definitely not suited to a banquet, which we had intended to have. What a disappointment which was made worse by the staff member telling me that I must have requested the table which I clearly did not. Booking in advance obviously doesn’t get you a decent table. Very sad that we were not able to sample the food and even sadder that nobody really cared, no attempt to accommodate us elsewhere or even an apology.

We came here with my family to celebrate my sons birthday and we werent dissapointed. Food was freshly made and staff were attentive but not intrusive. They seemed shy at first but once you chatted they were very pleasant. We would go back as it was worth every penny.

Me and my husband went to chows to celebrate the New year on Saturday 4th January absolutely fantastic service excellent food perfect in every way would recommend 100% Want my 70th Birthday Celebrations there without a doubt if I could give 10stars I WOULD👏👏💙💙

This place serves tasty dishes and there is a good choice. Expensive and still hungry after visiting there. Need bigger portions for that price.

The restaurant was very clean and the staff very friendly. The food was very good, if a little bit pricey. The staff was very attentive and helpful. They helped a little boy, (aged 5 years old) feed goldfish that were a feature of the dining area and he was delighted. In summary, we spent a very happy afternoon dining and feeding the fish.

Spent a couple of hours and had one of the best meals in a long time. Best Chinese Restaurant in the Wirral! Definitely recommend.

I had been told by several people that Chows was a really good Chinese so was really looking forward to our visit. I was disappointed by the lack of choice on the menu. Our start was good (the mixed platter) but the main I chose was not what I expected. I ordered King prawn with Cantonese sauce, which I was told was a sweet sauce. This sounded fine, but then when it came, the king prawns were already battered and deep fried before being smothered in this sweet sauce. The others with me were impressed, but I will stick with Chinatown in Manchester.

Birthday treat for myself. My daughter drove me so I was able to have a few tiger beers. We had the banquet for 2. It was amazing, great service, we were full midway through the main dish.

We always go for the early evening menu and it’s always good you have to book as it gets busy they also do take aways

Great welcome chose banquet A being lunch time, Food as always amazing , hot , and served with excellence ,Each course was delicious from soup spare ribs prawn crackers and mains sweet sour , beef in black bean sauce , chicken in yellow bean sauce with cashew nuts , we didn’t have pudding feeling very full as we were with American friends they asked for doggy bag never done this before found it quite amusing The American friends were very impressed with their banquet best they had ever had

We went to Chows Eating House in Parkgate on Sunday afternoon. I booked a table in the Champagne lounge to have a Dim Sum platter, which is like tapas style, and drinks (other usual drinks are served aswell as champagne). The lounge was stunning and cosy, booth style tables as well as high tables looking out at the views.

Been here some yrs ago .. the menu was varied like a normal chinese restaurant however its all about banquets this time around.

Never been before and had been warned that it was overpriced. Well my experience was shambolic. Wrong drink bought to the table and a lot of problems to sort it out as they wanted to charge me for it. Then wrong meal on the receipt which by surprise was more expensive than the one ordered and delivered. Finally got the correct bill. Give it a wide berth not worth the money!!

I have visited here a number of times and never had good service.But this has been the worst by far, my self and my family went for my mums special birthday and I couldn’t of chosen a worser place! We was rushed out the restaurant before we had even finished are food. We was shoved in the corner away from everyone else and just felt very unwelcome over all. The food is nice yes but the staff need to work on there service skills I will not be back here again!

Having wanted to eat here for such a long time we booked for last sunday evening hoping the food would live up to the reputation of this place. We received a friendly greeting and were shown to our table immediately. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. Unfortunately we found the food very average we chose the special hors de ouves menu @ £28 pp. This consisted of soup, a platter of various starters followed by a (very) crispy duck and pancakes course. To be honest we were full after all this and did not need to order a main course. Although we did not feel in any way that we needed to complain about the food it did not have the wow factor that I was hoping for and it was quite expensive as most banquets are. I dont think we will return.

The menu is very extensive and describes the food excellent. Unfortunately, the description in the menu does not match the actual food. Value for money is not right.

This was my second visit to Chow's, so I was really looking forward to it! Sadly the expectations did not live up to the previous experience! There was a large group of us, and we had a nice big table that we could all fit around, although personally I found the chairs to be a bit dated and uncomfortable! We had already pre-ordered our food, so not a long waiting time to tuck in! We ordered a banquet for roughly 10 people, food was delicious right up until the mains, the food is of an excellent standard, I just found variety to be lacking! Twice throughout the meal i had to repeat myself, firstly ordering a drink, which I shouldn't have to do, the floor staff should be aware and offer to get more, secondly, I wanted to have more rice, not only was it out of reach, I had to leave the table to find some assistance!

The atmosphere was very good and the service first class unfortunately the food was disappointing.The soup was bland and some of the ribs were quite fatty however the duck and pancakes were very nice.Moving onto the main courses we found the chicken was quite fatty and some dishes tasteless.

Food very average, service terrible waited a long time. People sat round us were served before us, it seems you have to be a regular, we won’t be going back

Chows has always had an excellent reputation, but they are exceeding their previous high standards, and I have been very impressed with my last couple of visits. They even produced a cake and firework! Thoroughly recommended.

This must be the best Chinese in the north of England ! Went with hubby and had three course teatime meal £20 a head.Asked that my main could be meat free as all were meat choices and i don't eat meat. Waitress made suggestions and i opted for mushrooms snd cashews in yellow bean sauce which was delicious.

Always have great food and great time. Excellent venue for Birthday with family. Just a little on the expensive side. We chose one of Banquet E which was probably a bit too much food but gave us the opportunity to try as wide selection of starters and main meals as possible.

This was the first time I’d visited here after hearing good things, we weren’t let down at all, the food was all really good and they catered very well to my wife’s allergy. I’d go as far as saying this was the best Chinese I’d ever had.

After having a not so good experience a few months ago we decided to give Chows another go and we were so impressed. The service we received was amazing and nothing was too much of an issue. The food too was absolutely delicious. All 8 of us had a great time and will be back! Thank you Chows for the effort you put in to resolve our previous situation and make us love the place again. My wife and I had the most delicious meal to help celebrate our Anniversary. The night began with a large 4x4 vehicle vacating a parking space directly opposite Mr Chows front door, very convenient with rain imminent. We were warmly greeted by Helen the manager, and taken care of by Nick, our waiter. The drink and foood choices taken, we had time to take in the ambience of the restaurant and were amazed at the efficiency of the staff taking care of varying sizes of parties ranging from 18th birthdays to graduation students, never the less our party of two was looked after in the same caring way. At the end of our evening Helen and Tina invited us for a glass of champagne in celebration of our Anniversary bringing a wonderful night at Mr Chows to a memorable close, thank you.

This was our 6th or 7th experience of Chows after moving into the area 5 years ago. We don’t go regularly as we have been disappointed each time. The only reason we have gone back is that the restaurant has a very good local reputation and we have thought that maybe we have just been unlucky and we should give it another chance. However, our visit last week confirmed to us that we have not been - it was our most disappointing visit to date.

Went here to celebrate a family birthday, and chose their Banquet B for £30 per head.

Fantastic banquet for only 20pounds per person food great recommended Malaysian curry 🍛 and sweet and sour, service first class and standard of cleanliness impeccable

Love coming here as a special treat. Food is great and staff are wonderful. Always accommodating and friendly.

First time in the champagne bar...tastefully decorated!..food and service are first rate and we had a wonderful evening. Thanks all!

Myself and another 3 family members went for lunch today and just felt very unwelcome from when we entered the door. They were more bothered in the bigger groups than us. Food was nice but the price for what we got was a lot more than we expected.

Heard so much about this restaurant and how difficult it is to get a table. Was expecting so much more. Very nice decor and in a beautiful location. I am a great lover of Chinese food but certainly believe so much of it is simply heated after being bought in supermarkets such as Wing Yip. Often there is little between quality in one Chinese restaurant and another If they buy their food in same place. Here at Chows the soup was very bland , followed by a very tasty mixed platter. Main meals were very disappointing . Again using bland the beef and peppers was exactly that and the beef very chewy. Prawns were poorly battered in a far from quality sauce. Staff and service very good . So nice staff , location and decor but disappointing meal.

Visited here last night and had banquet A. All the food was great, tastes really nice and didn’t taste greasy or fatty which you can have in other Chinese restaurants. The staff where all very friendly and offered a great service. The decor of the restaurant is lovely with fish ponds within. Would highly recommend this restaurant!

It was the first time of eating here as we are not local. It was a really lovely meal and the staff were very helpful and really friendly.

Visited on the recommendation of a friend, really nice setting, very friendly people made us feel right at home. We ordered the favourites menu which brought a lovely selection of starters which ended with Crispy Duck, there was lots of food all flavoured beautifully and the Salt an' Pepper chips were the star.

This is an expensive but good restaurant. Let down on this visit by their egg fried rice. Heavy with no trace of egg. Local takeaway better in that respect.
