Chows Eating House in Cheshire West and Chester

Very expensive and nothing too special……….staff were all really lovely and welcoming but we did feel rushed. Our soup bowls were being taken away when our friends were still eating. Nothing special unfortunately and we all said we would not rush back.

I love this place, great food, great portions, great staff and best of all, the location, I just love the view.

Excellent food every visit & the atmosphere & staff are the best. They really can’t do enough for you. The restaurant is stunning & has lots of intimate booths. Would highly recommend to all.

Over priced and over cooked. Service was average ( no finger bowl or wet wipes after the dim sum, glad we brought our own). The price was double what we would normally pay for a Chinese night out. Very disappointed.

Prices shocking 😲 Food was gorgeous as always. Only 2 people, takeaway. 3 starters and 2 mains were £96! And that was to collect. Even for a lovely meal, way too expensive for me

Visited tonight for a special offer , great deal. Food is exceptional and a great atmosphere, staff offer warm hospitality and courteous service , even asking after our children and grandchildren whom they have known for years . Not cheap but exceptional experience and good values .

We met up with the girls at Chows for a Dim sum lunch. We had pork dumplings, spring rolls and salt and chilli squid. Followed by mains. It was all piping hot and delicious. The server was just lovely. We need more restaurants like this. Great service and freshly made food. Excellent!!

Our fourth New Years Eve dining at Chows Eating house and never fails to amaze us with outstanding food, service from their incredible staff. We enjoyed every single dish we ordered. Their food is out of this world! We love Chows all year round but what a fantastic way to enjoy a special occasion! Shout out to Tina & Helen for looking after us! Highly recommend!

Excellent meal at Chows. We had the Dim Sum combination platter, which consists of soup, a host of mixed starters and duck with either pancakes or bap buns. As always the food didn't disappoint and the service was good. I'd recommend booking, it's a popular place so you're unlikely to be able to get a table on-demand. Payment can be made by cash or card and the card machine allows you to add a tip based on a percentage of your bill.

I had a most wonderful evening at Chows Eating House on November 28th to celebrate my birthday with family and friends. The food was beautiful as always and the staff so kind, polite and considerate. I was surprised to be presented with a birthday cake with fireworks and the staff's best wishes towards the end of our meal! My friends, family and I had not mentioned the occasion for our visit that night to the staff, but the waiting staff must have correctly gleaned that it was my birthday. Thank you for the generosity of spirit from the staff that made a great night even more memorable. Thank you to all the lovely team at Chows Eating House! I thoroughly recommend Chows for great food, a lovely selection of wine and superb service and atmosphere.

Authentic! 10/10 service! One of the best Chinese I’ve had outside Manchester! I’ve travelled all the way from Manchester to see a friend and we decided to come here. Best decision we’ve made that day lol.

Parkgate is such a little gem on the Wirral and Chows Eating House has one of the best views over the Dee estuary. The food matched the view and the service was exemplary! After seeing that I was celebrating my birthday, the staff kindly marked the occasion with a cake and traditional gongs. A memorable day in every way. Thank you all at Chows.

Booked for a birthday meal for 4. I was disappointed to find that our table was in what felt like the bar area away from the main dining room. The tables were high stools, there was very little atmosphere and somehow felt like we'd recieved a lesser experience whilst paying the same, for future references it would be nice to be told in advance so could decide if was suitable. Would have really struggled if one of the party had mobility issues and couldn't get up to the table. Food was delicious and service was impeccable. Just a shame about the table and lack of heads up about the high tables in the bar area.

Best hors d’oeuvres I’ve ever had!

Always welcoming, food delicious, attention to detail excellent. Enjoyed lovely meal with friends, service excellent, however when bill was accidentally 60pence short the way it was asked for was decidedly rude. This evening's meal was excellent, no issues with bill.

If you want fab service from people that are attentive but don't push you.. A gorgeous, classic, clean, atmospheric and authentic place... Food that you think about for days after because it's fresh, exactly what you ordered, and then some. Food you tell people about. Chinese tea that flowers in front of you! Not many places around like this anymore. Go for it.

Mr Chows was, as always, a pleasure to visit. The food was fantastic, staff friendly, and attentive. It's a lovely place to visit for a special occasion.

Great food as usual. Remember to take a packet of wet wipes with you as they don t provide finger bowls or heated towels. This seems a wrong decision as you have to go to the toilets to wash your hands after eating sticky ribs ! Come on Chows, don t spoil your excellent reputation for the sake of a warm towel.

Just ordered takeaway, for my family, probably the worse, I have ever had ,really bad ,just , all gooey ,no taste ,just poor £160 ,wasted, money straight in bin.!

Been a few times now and always happy with the food but this time something has changed. Food arrived unusually quick too which was worrying. Prawn toast used to be like thick and crunchy but now soggy And thin, crispy duck was tough and dry abs seemed small portion with less pancakes. Looks like a management change has taken place because the prawn crackers weren’t complimentary either. Staff looked a bit fed up to do overall not impressed and unlikely to be going back. Restaurant also changed time of booking on the day with no explanation.

Another birthday meal today. Both good and service were excellent as always. Nothing was too much trouble.

I’ve always got the same take out dish for years, Chicken yellow bean, but tonight it was tough overcooked chicken, and definitely not worth the £13 price tag! Years ago it was yellow bean cashew nut, I completely understand why the cashew nut isn’t in it anymore, but it used to be gorgeous, not anymore! It used to have a beautiful flavour, with celery, and chicken in. Definitely won’t be ordering again, which is sad!

Very expensive and the food was average at best. Atmosphere is great though.

What can I say other than Wow we booked in on 10th to celebrate Chinese new year the Year of the Dragon 🐉 the food the staff the atmosphere were all absolutely amazing 👏 the staff were so polite and attentive we had an absolutely amazing evening the dancers and kung fu was amazing highly highly recommend cannot recommend any higher

Had the restaurant booked for nearly 2 weeks only to be told that on New Year’s Eve they’ll only be serving banquets at £60pp. Not good customer service

Great food although arrived very quickly so unlikely to be fresh. Staff are very functional and lack personality. At 9pm as we were eating, staff member were hoovering the carpet next to us. Not great.

food is great, but just too expensive. we ordered a take out and they charge exactly the same as you would pay to dine in. we would order from here much more frequently if there was a bit more of a push for take outs.

Had a delicious meal , shared platter starters , main was king prawn sweet and sour with jasmine rice, Malaysian chicken curry with noodles and beansprouts ...The atmosphere was relaxed, staff friendly and attentive. We will definitely eat here again.

Maybe the best Chinese meal we've ever had, chose from the gluten free menu and it was perfect. Beautiful decor with chilled atmosphere and gorgeous views over the estuary. Well recommended if you're in the area.

Had heard brilliant things about the food, but while it was very good (soup, ribs, and duck were excellent), some of the other starters were nothing special. Quite pricey given the quality of the food. That said, the staff were superb and a great location.

This place is beyond high quality!!! They were absolutely packed when I ordered a collection that only took 30mins to be prepared. I'm extremely picky, but this place is incredible!!! The blackbean sauce had 0 extra oils or grease, the sweet and sour chicken was crispy and perfect, duck spring rolls were stuffed full and crispy also, egg fried rice was top tier...it even came in a fabric bag with pockets for crying out loud!!! I felt like I was treated with care, time, affection, love and all this with a takeaway? Blown away guys. I'll be coming back like a boomerang from this day forth! Omg make sure you save some for the next day 😋😋

Yet again this place never fails to impress us 🤩 The best Chinese food you can eat and we'll worth paying for 🤤 We introduced this to our best friends who couldn't say anything but nice things about the food and portion sizes. Highly recommended for you all to visit at least once to see what we're talking about. One down side to the menu changes is we miss the sizzling cast iron plates for the crisply lamb in black bean 🤤🤤🤤🤤 10 /10 again.

An excellent meal with efficient staff and clean and pleasant venue. We visited on Thursday evening with friends. It was as part of their Golden Wedding celebration. We enjoyed each of the meals and the atmosphere was very pleasant. No loud music made it easy to chat with friends. It was a little more expensive than our usual Chinese but it was worth the difference.

First class meal, staff, chef as always. We had a lovely time.

This has got to be THE best or or one of the best eating places on Wirral. We went before Christmas and the food was out of this world, fantastic drinks menu.The staff and service was outstanding and the restaurant itself was so clean with a lovely atmosphere. Really dissapointed booked chows months ago for new years eve and they have just called me to say it doesn't say on website but they are only serving banquets at £60 per head that night. Feels strange they have only just mentioned that as they didn't say this when they called few weeks ago to confirm my booking. I have now had to cancel not a happy lady.

Food is lovely , but I'm afraid prices are extortionate don't think we will be going back £90 for 2 to eat .

I booked a table for 7 guests it was a special occasion and I specifically requested that we be seated in the over 21's restaurant, as I did not want to be seated in the main Restaurant. They text me back immediately confirming this. . A week later I changed my guest number to 9 and again they reconfirmed. On the evening when I arrived along with my guests, they had our table placed in the main restaurant, and said that they had no note of my request. Then changed their story to say that they could not accommodate 9 guests in the over 21's restaurant anyway. . I was left standing with my guests in the middle of the main restaurant, whilst the staff were just flapping around not knowing how to handle this situation. Obviously they were unable to rectify the problem. Out of desperation I rang The Ship in Parkgate who accommodated us, and saved the evening. I haven't even had the courtesy of an apology from Chows. Very unprofessional and discourteous of you Chows. !!

Nice decor, friendly service Very normal food but very overpriced Food tastes nothing more special than any takeaway restaurant. Fried not crispy enough Curry very “gluey” and “powdery” kind Sweet n Sour Chicken too much sauce…

Went to Mr Chows with my mum for tea. Had starters & Seabass each main , desert etc all fantastic!!! Such a lovely place with amazing staff & service. Looking forward to going back 😀

Nice restaurant with some cracking food. We had vegetable fried rice which was amazing, along with salt pepper mushrooms. They tasted great ! Also crispy vegetable noodles, sweet n sour chicken. The food is really good - not typical Chinese restaurant this is top end. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant is directly on the front in Parkgate - parking can be an issue. Having been here before a few years back this has to be 5/5 worthy of a visit. PS book ahead as they hardly have space

The Chows team are amazing, each and every one at Chows, is lovely and they provide the best consistent service that i have ever encountered in any restaurant. Its my go to restaurant, whether it be for a quick meal for two on my way home from work or a big party. Chows in Parkgate is the one for me.

First went there fifty years ago !!!! The food and quality of service have always been excellent. Not cheap but great !!
