Fantastic food and lovely location

Just ordered takeaway, for my family, probably the worse, I have ever had ,really bad ,just , all gooey ,no taste ,just poor £160 ,wasted, money straight in bin.!

Food was amazing, sauces tasted like they had been made from scratch & the service was quick & friendly

Been a few times now and always happy with the food but this time something has changed. Food arrived unusually quick too which was worrying. Prawn toast used to be like thick and crunchy but now soggy And thin, crispy duck was tough and dry abs seemed small portion with less pancakes. Looks like a management change has taken place because the prawn crackers weren’t complimentary either. Staff looked a bit fed up to do overall not impressed and unlikely to be going back. Restaurant also changed time of booking on the day with no explanation.

Another birthday meal today. Both good and service were excellent as always. Nothing was too much trouble.

I’ve always got the same take out dish for years, Chicken yellow bean, but tonight it was tough overcooked chicken, and definitely not worth the £13 price tag! Years ago it was yellow bean cashew nut, I completely understand why the cashew nut isn’t in it anymore, but it used to be gorgeous, not anymore! It used to have a beautiful flavour, with celery, and chicken in. Definitely won’t be ordering again, which is sad!

Very expensive and the food was average at best. Atmosphere is great though.

What can I say other than Wow we booked in on 10th to celebrate Chinese new year the Year of the Dragon 🐉 the food the staff the atmosphere were all absolutely amazing 👏 the staff were so polite and attentive we had an absolutely amazing evening the dancers and kung fu was amazing highly highly recommend cannot recommend any higher

Loved the food. Great atmosphere. Staff very nice and helpful. Why the 2 stars??? Well at double the price of any other Chinese restaurant we won’t be heading back. I’ll go to a different Chinese and pay half the price.

We have had the pleasure of eating in with family on all our special occasions over the last 20 years and with friends, and now regularly as a take out as well! Food is by far the best and service incredible.Cannot recommend highly enough.

Had the restaurant booked for nearly 2 weeks only to be told that on New Year’s Eve they’ll only be serving banquets at £60pp. Not good customer service

Great food although arrived very quickly so unlikely to be fresh. Staff are very functional and lack personality. At 9pm as we were eating, staff member were hoovering the carpet next to us. Not great.

food is great, but just too expensive. we ordered a take out and they charge exactly the same as you would pay to dine in. we would order from here much more frequently if there was a bit more of a push for take outs.

Had a delicious meal , shared platter starters , main was king prawn sweet and sour with jasmine rice, Malaysian chicken curry with noodles and beansprouts ...The atmosphere was relaxed, staff friendly and attentive. We will definitely eat here again.

Maybe the best Chinese meal we've ever had, chose from the gluten free menu and it was perfect. Beautiful decor with chilled atmosphere and gorgeous views over the estuary. Well recommended if you're in the area.

Had heard brilliant things about the food, but while it was very good (soup, ribs, and duck were excellent), some of the other starters were nothing special. Quite pricey given the quality of the food. That said, the staff were superb and a great location.

Consistently excellent quality food , a warm welcome and all in a great meal ending in 4 clean plates . Shout out too , to the attentive staff who looked after us well but not intrusive .Well done Chows!

This place is beyond high quality!!! They were absolutely packed when I ordered a collection that only took 30mins to be prepared. I'm extremely picky, but this place is incredible!!! The blackbean sauce had 0 extra oils or grease, the sweet and sour chicken was crispy and perfect, duck spring rolls were stuffed full and crispy also, egg fried rice was top tier...it even came in a fabric bag with pockets for crying out loud!!! I felt like I was treated with care, time, affection, love and all this with a takeaway? Blown away guys. I'll be coming back like a boomerang from this day forth! Omg make sure you save some for the next day 😋😋

Yet again this place never fails to impress us 🤩 The best Chinese food you can eat and we'll worth paying for 🤤 We introduced this to our best friends who couldn't say anything but nice things about the food and portion sizes. Highly recommended for you all to visit at least once to see what we're talking about. One down side to the menu changes is we miss the sizzling cast iron plates for the crisply lamb in black bean 🤤🤤🤤🤤 10 /10 again.

An excellent meal with efficient staff and clean and pleasant venue. We visited on Thursday evening with friends. It was as part of their Golden Wedding celebration. We enjoyed each of the meals and the atmosphere was very pleasant. No loud music made it easy to chat with friends. It was a little more expensive than our usual Chinese but it was worth the difference.

First class meal, staff, chef as always. We had a lovely time.

This has got to be THE best or or one of the best eating places on Wirral. We went before Christmas and the food was out of this world, fantastic drinks menu.The staff and service was outstanding and the restaurant itself was so clean with a lovely atmosphere. Really dissapointed booked chows months ago for new years eve and they have just called me to say it doesn't say on website but they are only serving banquets at £60 per head that night. Feels strange they have only just mentioned that as they didn't say this when they called few weeks ago to confirm my booking. I have now had to cancel not a happy lady.

Food is lovely , but I'm afraid prices are extortionate don't think we will be going back £90 for 2 to eat .

I booked a table for 7 guests it was a special occasion and I specifically requested that we be seated in the over 21's restaurant, as I did not want to be seated in the main Restaurant. They text me back immediately confirming this. . A week later I changed my guest number to 9 and again they reconfirmed. On the evening when I arrived along with my guests, they had our table placed in the main restaurant, and said that they had no note of my request. Then changed their story to say that they could not accommodate 9 guests in the over 21's restaurant anyway. . I was left standing with my guests in the middle of the main restaurant, whilst the staff were just flapping around not knowing how to handle this situation. Obviously they were unable to rectify the problem. Out of desperation I rang The Ship in Parkgate who accommodated us, and saved the evening. I haven't even had the courtesy of an apology from Chows. Very unprofessional and discourteous of you Chows. !!

Nice decor, friendly service Very normal food but very overpriced Food tastes nothing more special than any takeaway restaurant. Fried not crispy enough Curry very “gluey” and “powdery” kind Sweet n Sour Chicken too much sauce…

Went to Mr Chows with my mum for tea. Had starters & Seabass each main , desert etc all fantastic!!! Such a lovely place with amazing staff & service. Looking forward to going back 😀

Nice restaurant with some cracking food. We had vegetable fried rice which was amazing, along with salt pepper mushrooms. They tasted great ! Also crispy vegetable noodles, sweet n sour chicken. The food is really good - not typical Chinese restaurant this is top end. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant is directly on the front in Parkgate - parking can be an issue. Having been here before a few years back this has to be 5/5 worthy of a visit. PS book ahead as they hardly have space

My favourite restaurant. The food at Chows is fresh and delicious. The Chows team are amazing, each and every one at Chows, is lovely and they provide the best consistent service that i have ever encountered in any restaurant. Its my go to restaurant, whether it be for a quick meal for two on my way home from work or a big party. Chows in Parkgate is the one for me.

First went there fifty years ago !!!! The food and quality of service have always been excellent. Not cheap but great !!

Oh dear. I've lived on the Wirral for over 30 years and this was one of the best Chinese restaurants I have ever eaten in. However, I've not been for many year's until last night......... I was surprised at the menu change - no starters - just sharing platters at £18 per head - I have to say the platter was lovely but nothing outstanding - as good as you would get in any restaurant. We skipped my favourite crispy duck as we thought the £32 cost was a little too steep. We then ordered the mains. I went for king prawns with vegetables served with noodles. The menu didn't say you couldn't eat the noodles - they were used to serve the food in and were hard as rock. The dish was bland with very little taste. My friend ordered chicken which was reconstituted and slimey - again without much flavour. His girlfriend ordered the vegetable vermicelli which was OK but without much flavour either being just veg & noodles. Without the chilli sauce and soy sauce it would have been the blandest meal ever. The highlight came with the bill - which came to a staggering £155 for the three of us. I accept there was alcohol on the bill - 6 bottles of beer - 1 prosecco - 1 vodka & tonic + 3 Irish coffees, but it was an expensive Saturday night out!!! Looking at other reviews maybe they were having a bad night, but my wallet has asked me not to go back to check. I am also not in the habit of leaving poor reviews - rather leaving good ones as its easier to moan than praise. But I feel Mr Chows crown has certainly slipped and I shall be ordering my Chinese food from the many takeaways and chippies in the area in the future, that in my opinion provide better quality food if not atmosphere.

Always a good meal with attentive staff and good choice of meals/banquets. Lovely location on the Dee Estuary overlooking North Wales. Popular restaurant in the area for good reason. Worth a try.

Wow , just had a lovely evening at chows . Secluded seating so we felt safe away from crowds. Lovely welcoming staff. Then the food , well this was one of the best Chinese meals we have ever had , amazing .

Went for my 60 birthday always go my birthday. I was surprised to see the relaxed Koi pond gone. The main dining room looked smaller. The food although good didn't meet previous visits and 10/10 standards.. Excellent attentve service Overall I was disappointed with the changes felt the magic has gone.

We booked our family christmas party and the restaurant was very accommodating with our numbers as they changed a few times. Meals were amazing and service was great! `we will be back soon. Thank you

What incredible food. I went here for the first time yesterday and was so impressed as were the entire party of us. This place is a cut above. Lovely atmosphere. Very pretty restaurant with tasteful fittings. Service exemplary. We will all be back. Great memories all round and happy tummies. We had the experience for 4 and every element presented impressed us. Obviously all freshly prepared with care and skill. 4 nice bottles of wine! Cheers!

Just been for a family meal and my partner paid £93 paid £4 for a bottle of lager and £4 for glass of Diet Coke which we got two each and £4 for J2O. Half the menu was missing and it was not worth paying £30 per person for the Dim sum banquet and £12 for 10 chicken nuggets, the chips were separate and cost us £4. When the chippy does include chips for £5. Won't be going again!!!!

The food here is always second to none and the setting is lovely. We even pop to get our takeaway from here as we know the food will be good

Googled it yet drove past it umpteen times, sign way up above wasn't there n one wrote on verander not seeable from car! Bit dark n dismal inside, food ok had king prawn rice n prawns were tastless. Meal ok but nothing to go wild about, expensive and over rated! Can get just as nice if not better at half the price from a takeaway! Won't bother again.

Lovely refurbished, the booths are so nice. The food was gorgeous and generous portions. It was busy but service was excellent.

The overall experience was very poor. They gave very poor service, we were seated and then didn't see a waiter for ages, we had to get our own menus. The food was poor and they dropped our drinks on the birthday cake. The beer was flat. Not likely to go there again

No better than a low quality Chinese chippy, not worth anywhere near the price they charge, an eating experience we won’t repeat

Awesome experience. I remember it from past visits years ago and it matched and exceeded them. Service was great, food was also great. The restaurant itself is great too, the only downside was the heat, it needed a fan and some air movement on a hot evening. Thanks guys
