Stopped off at this oasis on our way to Tenby. My wife and I both ordered bacon sandwiches and coffee lattes. Beautiful “home baked “ bread (probably from a bakery but looked and tasted home baked) a generous helping of thick cut bacon and a delightful cup of coffee. Staff were busy but friendly and attentive.

Called in as passing. A standard garden centre, nothing special as i could see. Nice café. Coffee OK. Seemed reluctant to take cash.

We stopped here on the way home from holiday, after passing it on our way to holiday having had a terrible breakfast somewhere else in Llandovery. What a super place, with really friendly welcoming staff. Breakfast was delicious, coffee was perfect! And then an extra treat having a mooch round the lovely garden centre before leaving. Will definitely come back!

This is our local garden centre, we have been coming since they opened. We went there today looking for one item, but, as usual, came away with several purchases. The plants are displayed very well, and appear to be really healthy. It's good to see that the business has expanded so much in the past few years, with many improvements to the infrastructure and product range. The cafe is excellent, and today the lovely fragrance of a Sunday roast wafted out of the building. We've never had bad meal here, and sometimes call in to pick up a 'takeaway'.

We stopped here for a comfort break on our way from Cheshire to Tenby and decided to get lunch here too. Best decision we made, the coronation chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious, soft white bread and served with a salad and crisps.

A lovely little stop off, usually! It's growing and improving each time. We stopped on Monday 7th December with my Mum and Godmother, for an early lunch snack. It was quiet, no queue and 1 table with customers. The 'lady' behind the counter was instantly unimpressed with us standing looking at the menus on the wall (I had read on the note by the track & trace book that they were doing table service), so we were deciding and then sitting down. We were glared at to go the counter to order. The waitress was incredibly rude from start to finish, as if we were quite an inconvenience to her. Deciding on a cake, we asked what was on offer, we had no reply and decided not to bother! I ordered coffees and a panini to share with my Mum as we had eaten a big breakfast, this clearly wasn't welcomed and she had the cheek to then question my Godmother about us sharing a meal while we were sat down. When the drinks and food was delivered there was not a word uttered, nor a smile. VERY unwelcoming and spoiled a first trip out since lockdown in March. A shame, as the barn cafe is a lovely setting and the food is very nice. Pleasant, welcoming staff goes a very, very long way.... unfortunately when you are treated in this way, it puts you off visiting or recommending....

Called in for coffee and was greeted with a lovely welcome. The place was very clean and tidy, the food which was prepared on the premises looked absolutely lovely. The garden centre was imaculate, no clutter, leaves or rubbish to be seen. We had a coffee and welsh cake but I am going back soon for lunch as it looked so delicious. Keep up the good work.

My parents visited this establishment yesterday. Having been travelling from North Wales for a few hours and keeping a look out for a cafe, they saw the signs outside Ystrad Nurseries which stated 'Cafe Open'. They drove in and on entering the cafe were told it had closed at 4pm. It was 4pm at the time they walked in and customers were still drinking coffee there. My parents told the lady that the signs said it was open - she replied that she hadn't brought them in yet. She said they could only have a cup of tea, as they were thirsty they agreed to have the tea only and paid and sat down. While they were sitting there my father (who is almost 80) found his blood sugar to be getting low (he is an insulin dependent diabetic with a heart condition). He took out one of the little packets of coffee biscuits he always carries with him and proceeded to eat one. He offered one to my mother also. While they were drinking their tea, a dog was sniffing around their legs and when the lady who had served them started to approach, my parents assumed she was coming to take the dog away, but she wasn't. She said, "Are you eating a biscuit?" - my parents explained that my father was diabetic and needed to stabilise his blood sugar. She replied "And after I made you a cup of tea out of hours!" and stomped off back to her counter.Firstly, my parents would have approached the counter to buy something to eat if they had felt able to, but they were under the impression that they were only able to order a cup of tea. It was like the lady was doing them a favour by making some tea in the first place. Secondly they are certainly not in the habit of eating their own food in cafes - my father needed to eat for MEDICAL reasons and no food had been offered by the lady serving.I was so disgusted by their treatment that I phoned to complain this morning. The gentleman I spoke to was very defensive (as I have noted him to be in replies to reviews here), I couldn't make him see how mean it was for his wife to have treated an elderly couple in this way. If someone had unpacked a picnic at a table I could see how that would be unacceptable, but in these circumstances, perhaps some kindness could have been shown? On finding out my father was diabetic, an offer to go and fetch him something from the counter would have been the least they could have expected from the server. In being so offhand, uncaring, rude and unprofessional, this company has only served to show themselves to be totally lacking in customer service. I hope they can learn from this experience and improve their approach to their future customers.

My wife and I were travelling from Freshwater East, Pembrokeshire to Merseyside. We came across Ystrrad Nurseries and couldn’t believe how ordered everything was. The cafe staff were really helpful and pleasant, and our food and drinks were delivered quickly to the table. Following our snack and drinks - the best cup of tea in a long time. We spent some time looking around the garden centre, and we were amazed at how really well the plants and other garden items were so cleverly laid out. In adddition, the variety of plants is really outstanding. This garden centre and cafe really deserve to be recognised for their outstanding qualities. The whole garden centre is clean and tidy as are both toilets. We recommend this garden centre and cafe for a visit.

My wife always stop here if we are passing. Good nursery but excellent cafe! Friendly and efficient service from Mel and Louise. It is a real delight to stop for a bite and a chat. My wife has had all-day breakfasts all over Wales, but this is the best. Ideal portion sizes and cooked to perfection every time. Great selection of home-made cakes too. Calling in again as soon as we can.

We stopped at the cafe on our way home from a holiday. It looked inviting. We spent £20 on lunch and had left a banana skin and coke can on the table to be collected wth the rubbish, as we couldn’t see a bin. He threw them back across at me , resulting in a little coke going over the table. I asked if he had a bin to put this in. He said yes but not for our rubbish as this would cost him money. He said go to the council bin. Thinking that was close I asked where , he said town.

We recently visited the nursery and decided to order some food. We only ordered some panini’s but it was beautiful! Everything made with tasty first class ingredients, and hand made by the looks! Exceptional food, they were very busy at the time, but worth the wait! Well behaved dogs are welcome on a lead which is a bonus too. Toilets on site too. Worth a visit!

Just outside Llandovery on the A40 towards Carmarthen, this newly re-opened Garden Centre is really good. It sells loads of plants and trees (not unsurprisingly!) but also garden furniture, fencing materials and has a great cafe. The kids can watch the 2 Alpacas grazing outside as well. This business also supports community events and deserves to thrive! Go along and add some colour to your garden or home! The prices are reasonable when compared to other garden centres.

The last time we visited we did actually get served but only went here as we were desperate for compost. I think they advertise closing at 5pm but we have found that if you arrive after 4.30pm you are made to feel like an inconvenience. On our previous visit at about 4.40pm (we find it difficult to get there earlier as we finish work at 4.30pm) we walked into the nursery to see the male owner/employee (who was looking at us when we entered) walk out of the indoor nursery area and walk to the llama/alpacca creatures. He made no attempt to converse or communicate what he was doing so after standing there for about 10 minutes waiting to get served, and nobody about only the man who had ignored us, we walked out. We had had a similar experience with this man previously.

arrived for breakfast to be told no sausages and had to wait at least 15mins for the local butcher to deliver them. could have had a breakfast minus the sausages but the price would have been the same. The person cooking was not really bothered and turned away. Surely on such a busy week coming up with the royal welsh she should ensure that stocks where high. toast came unbuttered and hard. what A shame put completely off and will not call there again or recommend.

Visiting Ystrad Nurseries on the A40 near Llandovery, we called into to the newly built café. Like a huge log cabin, it was spotlessly clean and welcoming. The food was home made and delicious, the staff were very welcoming and it was a perfect end to our visit to the well maintained Garden Centre. There was so much to explore, from small plants to magnificent specimens of large trees. Be sure to check out the living willow sculptures, from table top sizes to some several feet tall. I shall definitely visit here again.

After getting fish & chips opposite the lady advised us to go & have a drink... £2.50 a pint she said. So we went and yes it was £3.90 for a pint & a half! What amazingly great value together with a warm welcome from the barmaid. Sat outside with a glimpse of the sea. Highly recommend.

Not suitable for gluten free options despite menu description. We stayed locally and this restaurant had good reviews and described having gluten-free options available which was cinic red when we phoned to book a a table. The reality however was very different. Unless I wanted a vegan red Thai curry there were no options for me on the menu. The items described as gluten free in the menu weren't available and we were told the menu was out of date. Very disappointing and not suitable for anyone wanting gluten free options.
