Very cute cafe with great brunch food. A little expensive but I’d definitely go back.

The café is very cute, the staff provides great service, the food is delicious, and the coffee is tasty. The prices are quite reasonable. I'm impressed! It's also a great place to take photos, and the menu is super cute.

I do love their Breakfast, perhaps it is a bit pricey compared to some other places but I reckon that it is worth it for the quality and presentation.

Went in for a coffee and to study. I was told they don’t allow people to study on weekends and made to feel unwelcome even though there was space available and wouldn’t be served when just wanting a coffee (told table service but never came over whilst 5-10 min wait serving 1-2 take away customers).

My friend and I came for brunch at Yolk and my experience was absolutely amazing! The customer service was amazing as both of the staff were extremely welcoming, patient and conversational! The food was amazing and they adhered to both preferences my friend and I had! Would come back again!

It’s big, it’s bright, it’s yellow. Serving artisan, hot and cold coffees and a range of modern cafe dishes.

Awesome little place. Great if you can get a table outside on a sunny morning. Lovely little spot. Only criticism would be to have a chilli oil condiment - had it a few places now on my poached eggs and they’re just not the same without it.

Impeccable food - we had cortados, eggs Benedict with bacon, and eggs Royale. Honestly couldn't fault them and they might be the best versions of these dishes I've ever eaten. In particular, the bacon was thick, plentiful and cooked at a Michelin level of precision. I normally only bother to write complaining reviews, but I was impressed enough to bother with this :-)

Food - full English but for 14.50 it was poor to be honest. The poached egg was overcooked and more like a boiled egg. Service and atmosphere was OK

Having wanted to visit for ages Yolk did not disappoint. Tasty breakfast, lovely hot chocolate and great eggs (as you would expect) with warm and welcoming service. If full don’t be put off as extra seating is available in 31k next door.

Absolutely perfect breakfast, full of flavour, great service, everything we changed from the original menu was on point, got to be one of the best breakfasts in Nottingham and very reasonable price, I'd highly recommend, also dog friendly so big thumbs up there!! Oh and the homemade beans!! Ty

Very filling and flavourful breakfast. We tried the Hashville, one with vegan sausage and one with chorizo and both were really good. The place is a local favourite, so I would recommend booking a table, especially on weekends.

Food was lovely and arrived promptly after ordering, however, the service was slow outside of this. The staff appeared distracted with themselves.

Have been here twice - the first time the service was poor with the staff member being quite rude and unwelcoming, almost made us feel like we were too old/not 'cool' enough to be in there?! But the food was lovely (even if one of my husband's poached eggs had no yolk!!!) so we tried to go back a second time thinking the person was just having an off day. We went in and went to sit down but the person behind the counter (same guy as before) all but barked at us to say they aren't doing food and we weren't allowed to sit down. This was around 9:15am on a Friday, so well within their opening times. We left and went to the Hungry Pumpkin who couldn't be more friendly or accommodating.

The service here is absolutely incredible! Came for coffee on my first visit - and they do a cracking cup. 2nd visit we had brekky and coffee. I just say that the breakfast was a little over-rated and overpriced for me. But it was good. I would come again for coffee and perhaps just stick to a regular full English to feel like I'm getting more bang for my buck? I didn't feel like the avocado toast was worth the price nor the hype. Lovely place though

Visited after trying to get into a couple of other places which were already full, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise as this place is a little gem. They were incredibly busy when we arrived, but luckily they have extra seating in the establishment next door. There was a good range of options on the menu and we opted for the Cowgirl and French Toast with Miso Caramel and Banana. Both dishes were delicious and incredibly generous portion wise which kept us full for our day exploring Nottingham. The coffee was also very good. My only critique would be we were seated in the window and after ordering I think they may have forgotten us as we waited over an hour for our food, and noticed tables who entered after us being served first, not too sure what happened there. Overall a very good experience and would visit again!

This is a really lovely place to come and eat or have a coffee. Friendly service, nice menu and well cooked. We came here for breakfast on a Saturday and liked it enough to come back on Sunday. Will come back anytime I happen to be visiting Nottingham and I wish it was closer to where I live.

Lovely little cafe with a really calm vibe. The food tasted lovely, however the potato rosti were quite dry and didn’t seem to be freshly made (or a good quality frozen option). My poached eggs were unfortunately boiled, they were completely hard to touch from the whites to the yolks so I am surprised the chef even served this, that was really disappointing. The flavour of the dish however was lovely, the presentation was cute. I would come back, assuming my meal was just a blip.

Went for some food, they were more than happy to serve us even though it was close to closing time, the food was gorgeous, Sid was a gem and looked after us really well! Definitely recommend.

Ordered a Latte and cup of tea to take away the staff member with the man bun hair style was down right rude made me wait outside while I waited in the freezing cold because people were coming in will not come back

Visited Yolk for breakfast to end off a weekend away with friends before heading home. It’s very small inside and as expected for a Sunday morning it was quite busy so we agreed to sit outside until a table was free inside and order our drinks in the meantime. It then took a while for anyone to come and take our order and you do feel a bit forgotten about outside. We were seated eventually and our waitress was nice, apologetic about the wait and got us seated quickly and our drinks came as soon as we were sat down. I had a mocha, which looked pretty, but was lukewarm, which was disappointing as I like my coffee hot! The food, whilst it also looked pretty and well presented, was also tepid at best when it arrived at the table. I had an eggs royale with scrambled egg (a big plus for me is that you can choose how you want your eggs rather than having to have the standard poached with royale) but my scrambled egg was barley warm to start with and by time I got through half of it, was cold. We were on a tight timescale to catch trains back home so I didn’t complain/send it back as I didn’t have the time to but had I had the time I probably would have sent it back as cold food really isn’t enjoyable for me! I don’t think I would rush back.

Brunch for me and my partner on a Thursday morning at Yolk, even though we live local we've never been in - and we have been missing out. The service was friendly and we felt really well looked after, the food was really good and we loved the relaxed atmosphere. We will be back.

Really tasty food! Good veggie/vegan switches from the same menu. Shared the cowgirl made vegan which was so well balanced! Plus the French toast with miso caramel and banana. Wasn't piping hot but both delicious regardless. We went at a busy time so took a while to get menus etc at the beginning but staff were friendly and accommodating. Nice indoor and outdoor seating too, plus extension into 31k next door. £15pp for coffee and brunch.

Visited Yolk as my daughter had just moved into Uni Accom nearby. It was 2.40 and they say brunch is served until 3 so we we worried we were a bit late. We were greeted by a lovely young girl and seated at a table, we asked if it was too late for food and told absolutely not we had plenty of time. Our order was taken at the table and served very quickly. The lattes and oat flat white were made to perfection. We had 2 x eggs Benedict with a choice of egg type, we had scrambled but also a choice of ham or bacon. Our daughter had French toast with berry compote. The food was delciious and we didn't feel rushed at all. The prices are mid range I'd say, £10 each for food but it was worth it. Overall great experience, struggling to understand the negative reviews on here, the staff were nothing but welcoming and friendly to us. I can imagine it gets very busy especially as it's quite small but we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely go back.

Small portions, mediocre food. Nothing to write home about, feels very overhyped. I don’t recommend against going but don’t recommend it either. Essentially, it’s just fine.

We visited in early sept (it was exceptionally hot) on a Saturday morning. I ordered the full English and my partner the French toast with berry compote. The breakfast was outstanding. The mushroom cooked to perfection,the bacon crispy and the (homemade?) Hash browns beautifully cooked. The house beans were amazing with a subtle heat. The raspberry ice tea was perfect given the heat and the service friendly without being too much.

I went to Yolk for some breakfast whilst out shopping in Nottingham. Fantastic as always. I had the full English and couldn't fault it. The mashed avocado (extra) and scrambled eggs were perfect!!! Will visit again when I have the opportunity and it is a must visit for anyone in Nottingham

Great food, slow service, but they always let you know how long the wait will be. The coffee and the food are worth the wait. We have been many times, would highly recommend.

We visited Yolk a few months ago for breakfast and we were so impressed by the staffs attentiveness and the quality of the food. We decided to return back yesterday with our two youngest kids in tow as a quick stop off whilst my 3 year old rested his legs and i breastfed my youngest (5 weeks old). We were met with a very hostile response and got told I should be going next door as there’s more room there for our “big pushchair” and we will be served there instead. Headed next door to be greeted with not only a none pushchair friendly place (steps & less room than the cafe for our pushchair to sit near a table) and people drinking beer in a dark pub like environment, not very child friendly. So we proceeded to head back to the original cafe side to be shown said table is now reserved (convenient right?) we had to sit down, as our 5 week old was screaming to be fed by this point and it was raining outside so i couldn’t go sit outside and feed her even if I wanted too. The lady who served us was nothing but lovely & helpful getting us drinks, water for the table and kept checking back if we wanted anything else, so I presume it was the bloke who originally greeted us didn’t want kids to ruin the “atmosphere”. After such a lovely first visit , this has really tainted any hope for us visiting back again. Such a shame as the food & drinks the first time we’re amazing! Not happy!

Fantastic full English, great quality ingredients and a friendly place with quirky design. Service was really good and got to be best place in Nottingham for breakfast. Vegetarian wife was also really well catered for.

Delicious late lunch here for a work lunch. The bloody Mary’s were amazing (4/5 on the spice level was perfect for me), and the breakfasts were all amazing. We all got the hashville or royale and everyone devoured it. Can choose how you like your eggs on every meal. Only think would say is the potatoes were more boiled than sautéed as they weren’t crispy, but still so flavourful and delicious. Service was okay, one of my colleagues started off quite rude so think we may have received curt service due to him (annoyingly) but she did go next door to get mayo so bonus points for that! Loved the drinks menu on the coaster too.

I visited the café last year and then decided to go back again last week. As soon as I sat down, I remembered why I hadn't returned until now: the female waitress is incredibly rude (I see that other customers have also picked up on this). Same one who served us when we went last year. A simple question about coffee options was met with a hostile reply; she didn't even look up to answer, as if I was wasting her time. I felt uncomfortable and hurriedly ordered tea—a safe choice. When the tea was served, the milk that accompanied it had bits of black fluff (from a tea towel, I'm guessing) floating on top. In a normal situation, I would simply ask for a replacement; however, I decided against saying anything in this case as I did not want to risk another hostile reply. So I drank my tea black and left the milk. After she took our food order, before she left, we asked if we could make some slight amendments to the order. I asked if I could change the banana on my French toast to a berry compote, and my friend asked if she could swap from scrambled egg to poached egg on her Royale. I have never felt so uncomfortable. She was visibly unhappy. My friend, who was visiting for the first time, commented on the hostility of the service. I considered standing up and going to one of the other cafes near by; even Starbucks would have been better. The French toast with the berry compote was terrible; it seemed to be a microwaved berry mix from the frozen bags. It was TERRIBLY sour, which ruined the French toast altogether. I waited for a nicer waitress to walk past (she wore glasses and had some color in her hair) and then asked for some maple syrup to salvage the breakfast. She was very helpful. I will not make the mistake of returning again. The worst service and breakfast I have had in a long time! Just awful.

At first we sat outside as we were waiting for our son and daughter in law for breakfast for his birthday, the young man. That served us with coffee whilst waiting for them was very nice & polite. We enter red the cafe in our family’s arrival , took a while to order but we were in no hurry. The food at best was warm, the sausage and bacon looked anaemic, never been served chillied beans with an English breakfast , the sourdough bread was lovely. For the cost of £14 I was very disappointed to say the least

Really poor customer service....I visited yolk with my toddler twins and husband and they made us feel really unwelcome. We ended up leaving because they were so rude. Wouldn't recommend for parents with a buggy

Lovely place in Nottingham. We ordered 2 cappuccino and it was delicious, you can feel the taste of coffee. The breakfast was very good, they use high quality products. The staff are very kind, and organised. If you are around here I highly recommend you try it, you won't regret it :)

The best hash browns I ever had, perfect! And loved the egg toast. Only thing is we had to wait for an hour to get our food. The caramel French toast had the perfect amount of sugar.

Really lovely! Staff was really good and attentive, came early in the morning so was rather quiet. Coffee was lovely, food was nice, big portions! I’d recommend and would go back! Only criticism I’d have is that the chorizo was cut in rather big chunks and bit fatty for my liking! Update - Came again for brunch. Had a bloody mary which was really good, they alter the spice level to what you want which I thought was really good. Also had the Royale, delicious, would recommend - the hollandaise sauce which I asked for on the side was really yum!

Had an incredible breakfast and iced coffee at Yolk thank you guys! Hashville breakfast with scrambled eggs holy s*** the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had Woodland breakfast with poached eggs so so so yummy and that hollandaise was amazing Lovely setting outside under the tree tysm 10/10

Yolk is an excellent operation for brunch. The portions are generous and the quality is superb. My daughter took the French toast with maple syrup bacon and I took the full English. Both were brilliant! The homemade beans in the full English were simply unique. In summary, Yolk is eggseptional.

A little corner of egg-squisite dairy based dishes in Hockley. The service is more Scandi than it is friendly in its approach, which is fine. The dishes that we ordered were all freshly prepared and the wait time was really reasonable. I’d recommend the eggs royale without hesitation. The “rosti” on the menu turned out to be tater tots - tasty, but not what I’d imagined! The last thing I’d mention is the prices - a little more expensive than I’d expect at about £10 per dish. Then again, the cost of living is higher than ever so maybe I’m being unfair.

Arrived a few minutes after opening and was told would be another 15. There were 2 of us then 8 of us finishing our 5th and final night shift. Wouldn’t even let us sit inside in the warm. Walked away at that point due to the experience and negative attitude.

We popped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Yolk was pretty much rammed but they provided outdoor breakfast tables which we truly appreciated on a sunny day. It took them a while to prepare all the meals we had ordered, but it was worth waiting. Yolk is a great price-to-value place in Nottingam and they also cate for people with plant-based dietary requirements. We have no qualms whatsoever about recommending Yolk to anyone who would like to have a quality breakfast in an artsy downtown area of Nottingham.

Really can’t fault Yolk. We had two amazing smoothies and meals alike. Staff were wonderfully friendly and attentive throughout. We had the full English and eggs royale.the Poached eggs were a tad Under. However most (if not all) dishes had a vegan option. A Fabulous place to be.

My boyfriend and I’s favourite brunch/lunch spot in Notts. All the dishes we’ve tried have been delicious, the coffee is always great and service is always super friendly. Highly recommend!

We loved our visit to yolk! The food portions were really generous, and the quality itself was excellent. The bread and bacon were thick, crispy and soft in the middle. The eggs and avocado were fresh and prepared to perfection. The staff member inside was extremely friendly and accommodating. Service was pretty quick and the overall price is very good value. I've been to Nottingham many times and this is easily the best place for breakfast. They also looked like they had good taste in beer for later in the day.

I love treating myself to a solo breakfast and coffee at Yolk. Always a great welcome and friendly staff. Good music and fantastic food and coffee. Grab a seat by the windows to watch people head about on their day.

Wasn’t made to feel welcome, especially as I was there by myself on a busy Saturday. Was made to feel like I was just clogging up a table. Staff were rude and even snapped at me when I simply asked if I ordered at my table or at the counter. Food was okay but didn’t live up to the hype surrounding this establishment. Coffee was great to be fair but was served in a little cup with a tiny handle - I don’t even have big hands but even I struggled! Wasn’t my worst dining experience ever but far from the best. Might grab a coffee to go next time, won’t be returning to sit in.

Went in to end our trip to Nottingham and was greeted by bright colours and friendly staff. Was served by Harriet who made our experience even more enjoyable, and the food was brilliant too! We loved our visit and was a great way to fill up before our journey home!
