SUDA Delicatessen & World Kitchen in Nottingham

The nastiest restaurant I have been to which serves tasteless and unpalatable food. Owner used abusive and discriminatory language to us saying “This is not the place for your kind…” Bearing in mind that we are Black customers, the owners disdain is clear. Similar to what others have said about the chicken bolognaise, it is flavourless and not palatable. My elderly Mum had just left from hospital with a suspected heart attack and she couldn’t eat the tasteless chicken bolognaise. She asked to change it to a jacket potato & we were approached by a very angry, aggressive and extremely unpleasant owner, who berated my elderly Mum. She scolded her saying her restaurant made the best meals and would not be replacing any meal. She then walked away before I could even respond. Bearing in mind that I already paid for our meals, I had to follow her to the till to remind her that we had already been charged for our meals and did she expect my mum to go hungry while I ate. She then flew into a rage and had a complete meltdown in the middle of the busy restaurant. She became verbal abusive hurling insults at us saying “this is not the place for your kind. Go eat elsewhere.”This is the most disgusting restaurant I have ever been to and wins the title for the World’s rudest and aggressive manager.

Avoid-they do not deserve your business. I have to post this review. It stated Breakfast was served till 12pm. We went up to order at just after 11-55am and the lady looked at the Clock in the Wall which was clearly running fast and showed 12-04pm and would not let us order. She was rude too. Abruptly said ‘sorry but it’s gone 12’ . It hadn’t. Even if it had, and she had any sense and wanted to look after her customers and get repeat business, she could’ve used some discretion. I went back to my partner to explain what happened and he went back to the Lady and at this time it was exactly 12 and she simply said ‘I’m sorry about that’. We will never be going back. We left and went to Zhug on Bramcote Lane instead. Much better food and outstanding service. Suda should learn from here.

Nice trendy cafe with a good selection of options. Went for a breakfast meeting, brill option. Recommend booking in advance. Eggs benedict, poached eggs, bacon ciabatta all good options. Not forgetting proper coffee.

Nice and friendly restaurant with good food. We went in on a Saturday morning around 10:30 am for a full English breakfast. It is self service and the lady behind the counter servicing us was friendly and cheerful. Nice selection of condiments, I particularly liked the dried red crushed chilli flakes in a glass shaker. A little pricey in my opinion. However overall the food was hot and tasted delicious.

First time visiting in the afternoon/early evening. As always a cosy atmosphere for us 4 adults and baby. Lots of food options including GF and V requirements. Our orders: Dirty burger with sweet potato fries Halloumi burger with fries Chicken and halloumi burger with fries. Sweet potatoes fries only

Ordered an American pancake that cost me almost £7 and it was pretty much a child sized portion, I’ve had bigger portion sizes for cheaper in better cafes. The goats cheese and pesto panini tasted like washing up liquid. They were out of the green smoothie so when asked for the price difference back they seemed a bit stingy to return the price difference. The atmosphere was bad too since it was very loud from music playing and everyone talking.

This places need more custom on a Saturday night people! Incredible service and great Tapas menu which did not disappoint. Flavoursome, amazing options and friendly staff. We could not recommend a nicer place for a £30-40 dinner.

First time here and will definitely be back. The service was great and the smoothie was really tasty.

Had Sunday brunch here with our student son before he headed off to church and we headed off back south. It opened at 10 am and was surprisingly busy. Service was friendly and swift. Relaxed vibe to the place. Two of us had the full English and one of us had the mushrooms on toast. The full English favoured quality over quantity and I was good with that. We sat at a table of four and had sufficient privacy to cover the predictable parental agenda of 'whats next in your life?'!! Would happily come here again.

Little Gem, after a nice walk around the grounds, for a sit down a coffee and bite to eat. Staff friendly. It's ashame the rest of the castle is not open to the public. always got workman in, though. A good place to go for all.

Beatiful, coveted little gem on Bramcote Lane Shops. Fresh, tasty, well prepared food, great vegan options and variety. Perfect for brunch and late morning coffee which by the way is super. High recommendations.

A friend and I popped in for lunch and really enjoyed the halloumi wraps, which were generously portioned. I'd definitely return!

Great food and service. Thoroughly enjoyed the chicken and ham pizza, the vegetarian option with the pasta looked very inviting too. The rest of the family choose burgers, everyone was very satisfied.

We took our daughter who is in a wheelchair and her little dog. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Pancakes were delicious. Will visit again. Thank you.

£8.95 for a bacon egg and mushroom cob. Very steep prices, especially for the size. Was a regular cob I ordered, but got given a panini that couldn’t hold everything in. If your hungry and want a butty do not go here, go Bere’s next door and you can order 3 sandwiches for this price. Otherwise, staff were sound and shop looks nice. Just pricing wants sorting out for sandwiches/buttys.

Price in store a lot more expensive than advertised online £12.95 / £8.95 for breakfast and £6.99 / £4.99 for pancakes. Only had 1 rasher of bacon and 1 sausage when menu said 2 and sausages. Taste was ok

Nice place but always sooo noisy

Staff were friendly enough and the decor is trendy. As nice as the food was I wouldn’t say it was value for money mind. I paid £15 for Salmon & Egg on Toast (1 egg, 1 slice of bread) and a small Latte. It’s ok, wouldn’t be in a rush to go back though. Plenty of free parking is available directly outside which is convenient as well.

Booked a table for 8:15 , it wasn’t busy. However just after 8:30 the staff began to take away the flower vases , replacing them with open (!) sugar bowls and breakfast menus. When asked what time they closed , as it said 11pm on the door , the waitress replied any time from 9:30 depending on how busy they were. So if are planning a later meal , you may well need to book to guarantee that that they will still be open. Maybe because we are 60+ we found the background music not suited to the surroundings… and maybe more subdued lighting? Having said all that, the meal we had was absolutely delicious, especially my tapas items( see photos), just wish it had included bread (£2 extra) .

Nice and cute bistro, tasty and relatively well-priced meals. Decor is beautiful and helps make it a relaxing atmosphere. Service is also excellent.

So we called in for breakfast...we had full English and "American style" pancakes with bananas and syrup I have as a bit disappointed in the quantity ...but the food was delicious ....there was only 1 sausage 2 bacon rashers a small pot of beans 2 poached eggs and 2 mushrooms and half a tomato ...if I'd had double everything I would have considered it value for money...I would describe it as a half full English! The toast was normal sliced bread ..I ordered more toast but wasn't sure if I'd received it ...since there were only 2 thin slices on my plate. The pancakes were small and flat ...not fluffy like American ones I've had and syrup is syrup and a banana is a banana no matter what country You're in...all quite un remarkable really. The Americano coffees we had were nice, strong and hot but the cream I asked for was in the smallest jug I'd seen since my sister played with a dolls house...they brought me more on request. The staff were very nice and welcoming despite being busy and were attentive, a credit to the deli! All of this raised the question ...did they sacrifice quantity over quality? I decided that quantity was the loser ..as the quality was still quite high. I totally get that money is tight in the hospitality industry after a rough couple of years ...but despite that ... Suda Deli was busy, which tells me they have a loyal customer base I think it is silly to risk that on an extra sausage ...people still will pay for quality but we insist on value for our money too.

Great place for brunch. I really enjoyed my full English breakfast and chai latte.

Very expensive for very little food simple as that.

The vegetarian breakfast was really nice. Although they sold us extra hash browns without making it clear it would be in addition to the ones included! We were literally asked black pudding or hash browns? Felt rude to send it back, so ended up eating a lot more carbs than we intended to!

This is my local lunch / coffee place. Absolutely love it. Food is really good. Coffee is amazing. Customer service absolutely brilliant.

Nice place but the cake was really not nice.

After waiting a lengthy time for breakfast and drinking our coffee, when the breakfast arrived we were refused a further coffee unless we went back to the till. Previously they had always been happy to do this. Disappointed as I have been a very regular customer previously.

Delicious lunch yesterday. Great choice of food and excellent vegan 🌱 options. Staff are so friendly and it’s a great atmosphere . . . And licensed bar 🍸 again with great drinks choice. Parking right outside the door too. We’ll definitely be back ! And leave room for cheesecake next time. Thank you 🙏 xx

Local convenient for drinks or lunchtime visit

Had a midweek lunch here with my sister. We had the pesto and mozzarella panini with a light salad included. Very nice and big enough for a filling lunch. Pots of tea as well. Cafe was busy.

Nice smoothies, decent value. 6/10 food, but it did come quite quickly.

Suda is my Go To for coffee with friends or for evening tapas and cocktails

Ordered the full English breakfast. Poor quality produce and very small portions. It looked more like a kids breakfast. Asked to swap the mushrooms for a tomato/hash brown/beans. Was told that these items cost a lot more than the mushrooms so it couldn’t be swapped. Quite a bizarre response. All in all, lovely ambience, coffee ok, food awful. Use it for what it’s good at, drinks, but avoid food until they get a chef who can cook

We were recommended to try this place by a friend and will definitely be back! We had coffee, the eggs salmon, eggs avocado and a vegetarian breakfast. Lovely decor, rustic style Great service, great price and a fab atmosphere, Overall a great experience!

The coffee is very nice but the food is mega expensive and the music is too loud. I think £8 is extortionate for 2 small sandwiches. I would definitely recommend a take away coffee but nothing more.

Met a friend at Suda cafe. This was the first time I went into Suda. It was a lovely change to the usual big brand national coffee outlets that offer a corporately trained robotic customer service. Had a lovely home made cake with a lovely coffee served by a genuinely friendly staff member.

Great Sandwich they really appreciate we eat with our eyes as the presentation was great and a lovely tea.

Excellent food...eventually. waited 35 mins for food (a croque monsieur). There was only 1 other person there and they were already eating! Apparently staff sickness that day but they could have mentioned wait time when ordering.

Two full English, chipolatas excellent, bacon good quality, but slightly overdone for us, problem with door, does not shut right, making it quite cold & drafty, got up a few times to shut it, but eventually gave up, total bill with coffees £25.

Thursday morning, 26th January, treated my daughter to surprise breakfast. She had never been to Suda. Two full English, chipolata sausage excellent, bacon slightly over done, some problem with the front door, it does not shut right, needs good a shove, got up a few times to shut it to keep the cold out, but eventually gave up, the staff must know about the door because they also gave it a shove when passing, total bill with coffee £25.

I like this place normally. The ambiance is lovely, the food choice is good, staff are lovely. The most recent experience was bad. Had a Brie and cranberry panini, which was loaded with cranberry jam and specs of brie - much like eating a Victoria panini (sponge)!! £8+ for this! Seriously!? Saying that extra hot coffee I request, was extra hot - thank you. The other panini we got served was well filled with pesto and mozzarella.

Great place on Bramcote Lane for tea/coffee and food. Went mid afternoon and had lovely banana pancakes with maple syrup. Smart and modern interior and chilled atmosphere.

Been going here for years and always been amazing. A cut above the rest but I went this Tuesday and it just wanted the same. As soon as my plate was placed down I new something was different, seems cheaper ingredients have been used, even down the the bread being different. Really disappointed they have changed things and sadly won't be returning again.

Went to Suda’s the other day, food was excellent the staff so friendly and helpful as always.

Where do I even begin, the servers were clearly untrained, the food was overpriced for what was served and the waiting time was just not worth it.

the food is ok but overpriced and found out that the waitresses/waiters don’t actually get any of the tips and the owner keeps them for herself so i don’t recommend tipping if you want to eat here.

From the appalling waiting time to the overpriced food(just not worth the amount you pay for it) Suda is in desperate need of better managment.

Gem of a place. Feels rustic and welcoming when entering. Variety of food for everyone, including wide choice for GF, vegan/vegetarian. Friendly staff and prompt service. Check out the menu as the prices are extremely reasonable especially when you experience the portions. Find Suda and make sure you visit.

Food was of good quality and service was speedy. Went with my young family and they were very accommodating. Highly recommended.

Rude staff member spoilt the experience for us we won’t be returning. The food ok, but after this member of staff made us feel unwelcome we don’t recommend this place at all.

Popped in after my dental appointment and had some lovely pancakes.

Went for a family breakfast on Saturday - four adults and a baby. Arrived around 10:30 am when the restaurant was empty and nearly all tables were available. Found a table out of the way so the pushchair would not interfere with other customers and began to sit down, only to be challenged by the waitress demanding to know whether we had booked. We looked around the room and asked why we needed to book if the restaurant was completely empty - this immediately gave us the impression we were not welcome. Upon ordering our food at the till (we ordered 4 breakfasts - one of which was gluten free), they tried overcharge us close to £70 - yes, for four breakfasts and three teas/one coffee. I was surprised that even they thought this was excessive. When challenged, things became complicated and it took a good five minutes to resolve the issue - didn’t seem strange to the staff that four people hadn’t in fact ordered six breakfasts. We were sat at the table right next to the till, so they could see how few of us there were. We then asked whether the gluten free breakfast could swap fried eggs for poached (other items on the menu offer a swap option included) and was rudely informed by another waitress that she would have to charge us extra. We declined the kind offer at that point. In addition, we asked to order a side portion of hash browns for one of the non-gluten free breakfasts - when brought to our table, these had been shoved on the gluten free plate and when questioned whether they were the extra portion or whether the gluten-free breakfast had hash browns included - the waitress didn’t seem to know or be interested enough to care and didn’t bother to check. What concerned us beside the poor customer service was that there was no consideration for whether the hash browns were gluten free or not and had just been shoved on the plate. It may well have been the case that the hash browns were gluten free but the customer did not know that and there seemed no care or consideration as to the potential consequences if they were not gluten free. On top of all the above - bacon was minimal and overcooked, fried eggs were over-cooked resulting in rock hard dry yoke and they’ve replaced the once substantial bloomer toast with cheap sliced bread. Poor all round - won’t be going back.

Been to this lovely place a few times and have never been disappointed. Food is always delicious, fast and the service is brilliant. I always eye up the cakes at the counter as I'm ordering but haven't had room for one yet. Might have to go back just for the cake one day. Highly recommended.

You can go to a variety of eateries to have toasted bread avocado poached eggs and hollandaise sauce, and a pot of tea. It's a matter of how the meal is presented and most of all the taste. Working those taste buds and overall satisfaction just hits you when you know its right. A simple pot of tea pottery that compliments the tea . It's those little touches that make the difference. Just let your taste buds tell you. Lovely atmosphere welcoming team members

We had a English breakfast and bacon pancakes. It was OK. Orange juice was a bit over price. Family friendly cafe.

Awful experience all round. Poor service, dirty cutlery, waiting staff look miserable. Shame. Has bags of potential as an establishment. Clearly needs a change of management!

Nice place and nice coffee. But asked for 2 bacon sandwiches @ £4 each, asked if one of them could be toasted please, to be told no, we can't toast it as the breads different, OK I thought, fair enough, expecting some super amazing fresh bread that was cut too thick to be toasted. Order came and the bread was exactly the same as the tables next to us, and theirs had been toasted, mentioned this to the waitress (same one who had taken the order) only to be told, nope we can't change anything at all on the menu! ... Bizarre...your making breakfast, but you can't toast our bread for a bacon sandwich, I thought customer satisfaction came first, wasn't asking the earth for the bread to be toasted, simply can't go the extra mile, what a shame!

Not enough meat (spaghetti bolognese was mostly pasta, tiny bit of sauce), falafel (in the pic my daughter ate the 3 small, dry ones and that was what was leftl) or anything of substance in our dishes - very bad value for money, for mostly salad in every dish we had :-( My son's burger was dry as the bun was toasted (they didn't ask if he wanted that). It was a very unfulfilling, embarrassing experience for a special meal for which we had invited family from afar after the stress of COVID lockdowns etc 😫

I do like this place. Very nice food and not small portions! Tapas was lovely. Sitting inside and outside. They also serve cakes which look nice! Evening dining only Thursday evening to Saturday evening, inclusive.

Still a fantastic place for a light lunch, brunch or breakfast. Never been for an evening meal but I'm sure it'd be wonderful as the food and service had been great every time I've visited.

My wife and I went to SUDA on a date night on a Saturday night. We were keen to try the Tapas and were so glad we did! A selection of the tapas we had were the chorizo, meatballs and patatas bravas - all absolutely delicious! Great service from our host too (I think her name was Valentina?) and overall we were very impressed. Give this place a try, you won’t regret it!

15 Hungry runners called in this morning for a much needed breakfast. Lovely welcome and orders placed at The counter or via the app. Staff welcoming. Drinks arrived quickly and food not long after. Lovely well presented and tasty food. Made a point of thanking the staff on the way out. Only negative feedback is that some of the menus looked a bit grubby and things crossed out in pen. Apart from that the overall experience was excellent….

Ordered Deliveroo from here it took almost 2 hours. The fish cake was hard cold and more like potato cake. The chicken was awful and no aubergine in the aubergine ratatouille. Vile.

Had a cracking full English breakfast. Lovely little place with a lovely atmosphere. Looking forward to going back for an evening dinner.

Food came out at different times so I finished mine before the other food came. Chicken panini was disgusting, very overpriced and not worth the money. Chips in the burger were greasy, the chips were swimming in oil in the bowl. Will not be coming back. £15 for a burger rip off!

Called in for breakfast, placed order, 45mins later had to ask when the breakfast would arrive, were told waiting for eggs? When breakfast did arrive, sausages and bacon over cooked bacon very salty, my eggs benedict the eggs were hard the lovey bloomer bread has been replaced with what looked like sliced bread. We have been here many times before and breakfast had always high quality produce. This seems to have changed. Others were experiencing high waiting times. All it takes is for staff to keep you informed that there will be a delay. Hope you can resolve these issues.
