Really disappointing experience today. Usually Yo! Is so efficient, but service was very poor. Very little variety on the belt : virtually all salmon nigiri or kaiso salad so all other dishes had to be ordered off the menu, and it took forever. I actually cancelled my second order as it took 45 mins for my drink and first plate to arrive … not good. Won’t rush back to this branch.

The UK is unfortunately a lot more expensive lately and this place is no exception, though for about £25 per head you can have a good selection of sushi. Bare in mind this is a chain and you're going to get sushi with all sorts of mayonnaise, crab stick fillings etc so don't go expecting some authentic experience maintained for the last 300 years or anything but for decent enough sushi and pretty good customer service definitely worth popping by.

If you're looking for predominantly salmon sushi then this place is great however if you're looking for a wider selection of sushi then perhaps another location would be better suited.

Food portions small. What really grates on me about this branch of Yo! is that they try to add a 10% service charge to your bill and do not notify customers of this. I checked, and nowhere on their menu does it state a discretionary 10% service charge is added to each bill. I take exception to this automatic 10% charge being added and insisted, on point of principle, that it was removed. Staff member got a bit stroppy that I asked for its removal. Winds me up when restaurants think they have the right to automatically uplift a customer's bill without any notification. I was served my items directly by the chefs in any event.

Love the food, very good quality given this is not a 5 star sushi restaurant or anything. I do not like, however, that service is automatically included. This is an Americanism which has no place in the UK. We have had the National Minimum Wage since 1998. If your service is good, I'll pay. However here service mostly automated (conveyor belt, app etc). I don't appreciate 12% being automatically added on for very basic amenities.

I used to come here when it first opened and the atmosphere was great, food was always great and the staff were super professional but it just seemed today like the whole place was just not at its best. There was a horrible whiff as we walked passed the accessible, toilet then when we arrived at the table we were told the food could be taken from the sushi train, ordered on the app or ordered via the wait staff. It was just all too confusing and too much. We eventually got everything we wanted to eat but the timeline on it was all just a bit odd. The sushi rice seemed stale but the Bento box my kids shared was a winner. We had a strange conversation with a waitress about extra curry sauce too.. Perhaps gone are the glory days of this restaurant or maybe they were just having a hectic weekend. Either way, I'll visit again but my hopes won't be too high.

Fresh lovely food. Prices can be expensive but we went when 3 plates for £9.95 which was.very good value. Would.like a few more plates on this selection. Young man who served us was very nice.and informative. Only down side was the chicken lollipop dish was a bit bland . Otherwise very good .

My recent visit to Yo Sushi left much to be desired. The sushi, touted for its freshness, was surprisingly bland and lacked the vibrant flavors I expected. The rice was dry, and the fish didn't seem as if it was of the highest quality. Adding to the disappointment was the slow and indifferent service. The staff seemed disinterested and unresponsive to our concerns, making the overall experience less than enjoyable. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Yo Sushi based on this lackluster dining experience.

When we was waiting in the queue to be seated she walked past us ignoring us when we said "hello" when we finally spoke to her she then blamed the way she acted on how busy she was and didn't accept she was being rude and persisted to then be sarcastic about it by smirking and laughing ,while still talking to us, when we was talking to her about it and telling her "there was no need to ignore us and then come back when we comforted you about it and be sarcastic, by laughing and smirking". All in all her "front of house" and "customer service" was shockingly terrible. Such a bad experience

Not impressed. The sushi selections on the revolving belt don't look fresh -- they look like they've been sitting for a while. The yakisoba was bland. Athough we have to wait to be seated, there's no service to rate because no one really checks on you after someone brings your order to the table from an app.

Staff needs to pay more attention to their role. 1.The seating area given to us not clean properly. Had to ask a member of staff to do so. 2. Had to wait long for sushi condiments!! 3. Staff do not take initiative. They can see a customer standing by the order point, but dont say, hi, how are you, can I help etc. Also couldn't tell me how I can locate my loyalty number. Also I asked for a receipt but didn't get one. Staff need more training in customer service. Update: Head office apologised and did send me a gift voucher. So I have changed to 3 stars.

Used to love this place a lot. I’d come specifically for their chicken ramen and Korean chicken. But as I’ve been recently they’ve changed their menu a lot and removed a lot of favourites. Their quality of food has declined a lot with smaller portions and higher prices, changing recipes etc. Really quite a shame because I loved their food but I won’t be going back anymore, their counter at Tesco is better.

Unfortunately the Yo Sushi experience has gone downhill recently. The staff did not seem to be happy to be there, and it seemed we were putting them out when we requested wasabi and ginger to go with our sushi. The water taps at each table have gone (or at least we did not this where we were sat), as have the call buttons to let staff know you need something. Sadly the quality of the food has also decreased, but the prices have shot up (as they have in most food places over the last few years). Granted it's the only place that has the conveyor belt experience, but in my view there are other better value and better quality sushi options in Kingston.

I visited this restaurant a few years ago and it was great. Decided today to treat a relative to lunch there - big mistake. We were seated right in front of the kitchen, facing it, and it’s not an attractive kitchen - quite unpleasant looking, actually; there should be a screen to hide it from view. The food available on the belt was disappointingly limited in variety, so we decided to order three extra items from the menu. Trouble is, you have to do this by scanning a QR code with your phone (so don’t eat there if you haven’t got a phone). Even though the server was standing right by my elbow, I couldn’t ask him for anything, but had to use this dumb app, which I didn’t find very user friendly. I tried to order two portions of fried prawns, for example, but the app only gave me the option of one portion or three! Food ordered was nothing special; fries which looked interesting on the menu turned out to be just ordinary fries plastered in disgusting gooey mayonnaise! Bill came to over £63 for a moderate amount of sub-standard food, one beer and a Diet Coke. Just awful! I’m never going back.

Really nice unique easy service. 30/7 - went again. Food menu has expanded and there was alot more choice. Was really easy to order food on the app and food was served straight to me. I didnt like the fact that all meals didn't come at the same time but expected it was fine. Service was good but couldn't have been a bit more attentive rather than me having to get up and ask for bill otherwise really nice staff and nice food.

We were excited Yo sushi was "back" but honestly wish we hadn't bothered. Seated and told to use the app, not the waiters. Alright... no water anymore, no ginger or wasabi, napkins soy chopsticks brought and once again USE THE APP TO ORDER DONT ASK US The app didn't work, we couldn't get anyone's attention so just didn't have drinks or condiments as we were given half an hour before our seats were required - the same sad and tasteless three dishes circled the entire time- then to top it off they slung a 10% service charge on the bill I only found out about due to asking for the receipt. Disgraceful.

Really disappointing visit here, took forever for waiter to acknowledge us, then when he did there was no apology for the waiting times to be seated-restaurant wasn’t even full. Took 20 mins for tap water to be brought out and the dishes (we ordered 5 small plates) took the best part of an hour to come, one arrived pretty quick then there was long waits inbetween.food was tasty but Very small portions that looked as if they had been thrown together (see photo of menu sample and the dish we were actually presented with!).

I was told that the korean fried chicken is delicous - I havent tried it, but apparently it is worth trying. Dined here for a late lunch/early dinner. The restaurant was relatively empty; only three other tables there when we arrived. We ordered approximately five hot dishes and drinks on the app, and took some sushi from the belt. After waiting over 20 minutes for the hot food, I asked a waiter how long it might be. We didn’t really want to eat the sushi and sashimi and not have the hot foods to go with it. A further 15 minutes passed - still no hot food. I queried again and this time requested they be taken off the bill as a goodwill gesture due to the time elapsed. He tried to barter with me and only take off one, to which I said that wouldn’t be good enough, and he removed everything that hadn’t arrived at the table. Overall the food was very good, and we actually were able to try some different (Korean) dishes that are not available at other branches. Had the service been quicker, this would have been a 5* review.

We were seated really quickly, food was really nice, can't fault that at all and I didn't think it was particularly overpriced, however we were overcharged not once but twice. The kids Bento boxes were meant to be free but when the bill was first brought to me the cost was included. Got those removed & still looked a little inflated over the cost of what it was meant to be but paid anyway as couldn't understand the breakdown on a tiny screen. Looked at the receipt and realised I had been charged 2x for the 3 bowls I had got so then had to seek a refund. Also did not help that one of the kids had opted for the extra pancake desert but instead of 1 on a plate we were brought 3 which made it a full price desert. They were nice enough staff but can't help but feel it shouldn't have been so hard to have 3 bowls of sushi and a desert with 'kids eat free' included, and have more than one issue with the bill. I'd never been to Yo Sushi before and it has made me question whether I'd return.

Very disappointing visit. Salmon was sliced extremely thinly on nigiri, sashimi either chunky or too thin and didn’t taste very fresh. Rolls had much more rice than filling. Just not good quality anymore. Service was the real disappointment however honestly I left feeling conned in two ways. 1. I asked to order the Salmon selection plate, which is an £8.25 plate, which didn’t appear on the QR code menu but did on the menu card we had been given. I was told if it’s not on the app then they don’t have it. However the sushi sharing platter for 2 WAS available and contains exactly the same items, but double the quantity. However the platter is £2.50 more expensive. This was not acknowledged for the con that it is, just a shrug. We ordered the sharing platter anyway (still a better deal than individual items), only to find that 5 mins after our platter arrived, the original plate I wanted started coming around on the belt! So it was completely dishonest and I was bare-faced cheated out of £2.50. 2. Given the food quality we didn’t order much more and made moves to leave. Once we finally got some attention, I was not given or even shown the bill, only the total. It was only after leaving the restaurant (having asked for a receipt) that I realised that a 10% service charge had been added to the bill without my knowledge. Given point 1, I had no intention of paying one. Another £2.50 or so. I always used to love going to Yo! Sushi, and went many times to the one at Waterloo and in Soho in addition to the one. But clearly the company has decided to cut back on quality and that really does spell the end for their business. Sushi is supposed to be a quality product, and prices are high. But prices can only be justified if they come with high quality. And one or two smiles and a smidgen of service and ethics along the way should also be expected. Worst sushi experience ever. Will not return. Itsu or Wasabi takeaway boxes are far superior!

The staff seemed unbothered and not interested to serve or attend. I mentioned my prawn allergy to which I was asked “how severe is your allergy”. I was appalled by the question. The check and seafood are cooked in the same wok and they are not allergy friendly AT ALL. When I asked for a vegan/veggie option. Apparently the veggie fryer was not working! I would say, save yourself the disappointment and don’t go here.

First time I’ve been back since lockdown - it’s a shame how the food doesn’t all come around on the carousel any more, but understandable. What I don’t get is why they’ve got rid of so much of the menu? No more squid, no more popcorn shrimp, no more soft shell crab! Still a nice place to grab a bite after a bit of shopping, but far less choice than there used to be.

The restaraunt itself was great and food was lovely as always. Very speedy with most of the food and drink! The issue I had was that the online ordering didn't work properly and refused to let me log into my account as it kept saying my password was wrong. When I then clicked reset my password I never recieved the reset email despite doing this 3 times over 10 mins. In the end had to create a new account on a different email address to order. This was frustrating as I believe I had points on the account I could have used to get a discount! I still have not had a reset email 48 hours later!!!!!

It seems every time I have come here it has gone further downhill in quality. The seaweed salad, which I have seen comes from a big plastic bag, was not garnished properly, huge carrot peels and no edamame on ours but others had on theirs. The rolls are sadly now pre-made and were rubbery and cold as on grocery stores:-( I’m not sure what the veg garnish was with the salmon sashimi, but it was proper daikon in past times. The Korean fried chicken was lukewarm. My miso came half full, no one was around to give the ‘unlimited’ refill if I had wanted. Disappointing.

Brilliant place! I Iove the ordering system once you use it and create and account it's really easy to order over and over again. It remind me of the old system and it's better because the food is freshly made for me. And I see the pictures of the food all ingredients and allergies and of the menu. The menu is really big. I have a lot of choice. Food was good and staff was friendly. I get warm welcome! The place was futuristic. I don't recommend everyone! Specialy People who living in the past. I saw some people who get frustrated because they don't know or just they don't want to use the fun system. If you don't like technology I recommend other places. Just a quick reminder this is still a fast food restaurant... Proper sushi places are way more expensive I'm coming here more for the exercise than the food.

We usually come to this yo because its always been good however this time it was a bit diffrent. We had food arrive and then started missing some dishes. All the dishes were brought out but the hot edamame beans we order earlier in the evening were brought to the table cold. Then while we were eating our main bits after eating some light bites. We get a final call for our next order. Safe to say both mine and my guests that I brought with me were suddenly full and with alot of food left in the bowls. The server did get us take away pots but it ruined the evening.

You can only order online, which requires faffing about with the wifi, which was not great, and creating a login. After several attempts to even log in failed, I gave up, and went round the corner to a nice independent place where they let you talk to a human being to order food. The is the antithesis of the convenient conveyor that was the chain's USP when it started. They've gone from being the easiest place on the high street to get the food you want to the most inconvenient.

Maybe its just not my cup of tea but this was really disappointing I guess the rolls/sushi are alright, the same stuff you expect from wasabi/itsu/etc, but the cooked food - strongly suggest not to try :( the ramen was beyond disappointing, the whole broth was oily and you can taste nothing but black pepper, the vegetable was raw, the noodle is not ramen, just egg noodle. Not to mention it was not hot enough. I think i prefer wagamama if we are talking about western style cooked japanese food. Stick with the rolls/maki if you go!

This place has seriously deteriorated. I didn’t want to complain to the manager about the food at the time as he was too kind, didn’t want to upset him or cause issues, so I complained online when they asked me to send feedback about my experience. They said they’ll respond in 48 hours. They haven’t even taken the courtesy to respond and it’s been 3 weeks. I’m shocked at the service and the food here is so bad now, don’t even go here.

Finally the question of where has the worst sushi in Britain has been answered, thank you Yo! sushi Kingston. The carousel was briefly amusing however the upsetting flavour combinations and poorly put together nigiri mean this as a terrible culinary experience. On the upside the staff where very nice.

Awful experience at yo sushi. Fish product was in a vegan maki - twice - even after complaining. No regard for separating veggie v animal dishes, with the open kitchen you can see the chef uses the same knife and gloves without washing at all in between. Manager was apologetic and nice but the other attitudes were rude and felt very unwelcoming. Very busy and definitely gone downhill.

Took my daughter (3)for her first to visit with my partner. The food came pretty quickly (although he would disagree as other people's food going by was a tease apparently) The new system where you order on your phone then wait for your order isn't as good as the old one. Preferred it when you took what you liked the look of. It slows your visit and I think limits what you try. Hence a lost star. But. All in all the food was delish and we enjoyed our visit

Place wasn’t very busy, were seated and instructed very quickly. Ordered different kind of salmon rolls and 3 out of 4 were straight from the fridge, which resulted in dry and unsticky rice texture and non fresh taste.

Just so expensive. Overly priced. I think we spent close to £100 just as a 3. For those prices, I expect to be served OR they should lower the prices as there is no/little service due to the self serve system via the app. Fun but never going back in a rush due to what else this money can buy at other luncheon venues.

Used to be great food - has now gone downhill. Quality is substandard, as you pay upfront (including a service fee!) it is very difficult to complain. Some of our food was incomplete (sauce for pancakes missing) some wrong. The poke bowl was so spicy it was inedible. Lots of old favourites are no longer available. The Yo sushi I used to love is gone.

With the new system you have to order upfront by phone - removing the option to select from the belt. Taking upfront payment also not working for me - If dishes are not available there was no upfront warning and we got a poor substitute and items missing. We used to LOVE Yo sushi for its great quality but unfortunately this time our experience was poor. Too many things done poorly, some dishes incomplete, some plain wrong. Lots of my old favourite dishes no longer available. Very small portions and taste no longer as good as it used to be. We will vote with our feet and not return - shame- used to be a fairly regular treat but it’s gone downhill.

Yo Sushi has definitely gone downhill from before. They removed a lot of the interesting features that made Yo Sushi stand out from the rest. The autonomy of the conveyor belt and the water tap at every table has now all gone. You must order via the QR code and pay before receiving it. In addition, the food was horrible. The ramen bowl cost £12.50 and there was not even a handful of noodles in there. The broth was overpowered by pieces of chilli with no real flavour. Some random things were just thrown in like pickled onion and seaweed which made the overall taste just really strange and unappetising. The sushi was less than substandard. The rice did not seem real and did not even look like rice. It was cold and mushy and the rice grains seemed to be blended all in one. It appeared that the sushi had been prepared 2 or 3 days ago. The next thing I noticed was the thinness of California rolls. It looked like the chef had taken 2 normal size rolls and chopped them in half to make four. Overall it was a very bad eating-out experience and confirmed my decision never eating at Yo Sushi again.

We have been to Kingston Yo Sushi plenty of time and usually it’s very good but unfortunately this trip was the worst.. it took nearly 40min for some dishes to arrive… the staff didn’t seem overly bothered?.. a shame really!
