We came for the Thursday bottomless brunch but had to leave after 20 mins. Absolutely no food options on the belt apart from edamame beans and pancakes. We complained and said this is a shambles for £29.95pp and so we left but were made to pay for the rubbish plates we picked off the belt and were charged £20 for food that we didn't even want. DO NOT DO THE BOTTOMLESS SUSHI! There are far far better places in Cambridge for sushi and I think it is now time for this place to leave Cambridge for good.

Arrived for our booking at 5:10pm (reservation booked at 5:15pm) lady asked if we knew how it worked.. i said yes, bottomless for 90 minutes.. she noted down the time and said it would end at 6:30.. i said no.. 6:40. She didnt explain anything else and me and my daughter got started on it being bottomless. My first thought of the food was how warm it was.. it being mostly fish i was worried.. i noticed the time stamps on the food as they were going round and saw some of them had expired. So i made sure we didnt grab any of those. My daughter and i were enjoying trying different things and with a few we didnt like we left to one side.. about half an hour into our bottomless dinner, the waitress approached us and said any waste we had that was more than half we would be charged for!!!! I was shocked.. what if we didnt like it?? Which was true we had a couple of things we didnt like. I had also scraped some plates onto one so it was full up with leftovers. I told her i didnt know we would be charged she said she should have told us. She said i may be charged for a few bits, but would ask her manager. This was annoying as we werent purposely picking everything up and purposely wasting it.. we wanted to try stuff.. paying almost £30 a head, this shouldnt be an issue. Sitting directly infront of the kitchen i couldnt help but notice how dirty and unorganised it was. The bin was overflowing, tubs of food were left out the whole time we were sat down. The sides were filthy with food. I was was genuinely worried we’d be getting food poisoning from the hygeine and the conveyor belt should be chilled to keep it cool. While sat down for 90 minutes it must have been 3-4 times we got asked if everything was ok with our meal.. by the same person. It got quite annoying. I asked for tap water, but their were no jugs, just glasses.. yet i saw other tables with jugs. When the bill came i was told i would be charged for one of the plates, i told her it was half left.. the other girl who originally told us about the charges came over and said the manager said it was ok. I felt they were desperate to try and charge us. I will not visit this branch of Yo sushi again.. it was dirty.. (the toilets were dirty too) and i feel like it was very over priced for food we could not even try.

Went for the bottomless belt and was not disappointed by the selection available. Food was delicious, fresh and well presented. Our server was very helpful. Toilets and stairs down were not super clean but okay. Thanks for having us!

My family & I visited Yo Sushi Cambridge for my son’s birthday. We ordered & waited & waited… 2 hours later & my son still hadn’t been served his meal. After asking 5x & getting a different excuse every-time, we were offered two free desserts for the children. After asking one last time if the meal was ready, to then find out he hadn’t even started cooking, I called it quits. I explained to the waiter the service from the kitchen was awful & ruined our night. I refused to pay for any of the food & drinks. I’m leaving, one of the kitchen staff said sorry. We left. We won’t be returning. Very disappointed!!

As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by dirty plates piled on tables, uncleared tables and 3 members of staff visible but paying no attention to greeting us. After 2 minutes I called out and the waitress approached from the back of the restaurant. She asked if we had a reservation (we did) and she said she would prepare our table. We had arrive at 19.05, our booking was at 19.15. There were, at most 6 customers so why wasn’t there a clean, cleared table? We ordered our drinks. She forgot our water. We asked for the water. She forgot the glasses. Every time we wanted to order food we had to shout across the restaurant. At one point, we asked one of the ‘chefs’ and she shouted across the restaurant to get the waitress to take our order. It was ridiculous! What ever happened to the order button pre-Covid: that system worked! The food was good The restaurant had no atmosphere We had to shout across the restaurant to pay our bill. It was my son’s birthday choice. We won’t be going again!

The 1 star isn’t a reflection of the staff at this restaurant, but of the awful allergy policies at a company level. We ate here with my 5 yr old daughter who has multiple allergies. The company policy is that no menu items can be changed. She’s allergic to soya, so we ordered a kids bento and said ‘just don’t put the edamame beans on’ they said they have to because they can’t make changes due to allergies. Even if it’s as simple as not putting edamame beans on. We then ordered various things we were told we couldn’t have because their app said no (despite checking the allergy matrix they now have a new policy that they have to go by the app which removes may contains by default leaving her with one item on the menu despite the matrix showing many more things were safe). This is an example of where big chains are using laws, and a narrative about ‘protecting customers’ as a way to remove risk as discriminate against people with allergies. It was a frustrating experience, not the fault of those who work there.

My daughter and I used to eat here every weekend as a Saturday lunchtime treat. We haven’t been back for a while, but thought we’d have dinner for old times sake. What has happened to your standards?? – Tiny, and I mean laughably small, overpriced portions of poor quality, warm sushi, prepared and distributed from a filthy kitchen by a chef who kept wiping his hands on his already congealed t-shirt, before shaping the next portion of rice that he kept coughing over! It was disgusting to observe. Unfortunately, I’d already eaten a portion before noticing. From then on cooked food only - popcorn shrimp, fries, Korean chicken and beef teriyaki - Tasty but less than half the size of portions we used to enjoy here. I mean woeful portions, like small plates of cat food. The bill came to just shy of sixty quid for two. We went home hungry and made eggs on toast and swore never to go back. This was once a successful and enjoyable eating experience. You’ve managed to alienate two previous Yo! fans. I have a lot more to mention. The ten minute wait at the door, despite half the restaurant being empty. The weird irony of being told we could sit in a minute when the tables were cleared… as if we couldn’t see the numerous empty, cleared spaces as we stood for ten minutes. Bizarre! The waitress who kept telling everyone how things have changed since she’d previously worked there two years before. We heard her booming voice explain this same thing to five different customers. What was the subtext? That it used to be good? That it’s not her fault how low standards have fallen? I wrote to Yo’s head office. No reply. No surprise.

The food was lovely, but there was very little sushi on the conveyor belt and they won’t let you order sushi specifically? We waited 40 minutes without any sushi and weren’t allowed to ask for any. We paid and left and went somewhere else. Very disappointing

I visited with my partner recently, who had never been to a Yo! Sushi before. She was pleasantly surprised by the experience, although it’s had to Ben altered due to the COVID pandemic. It’s always great to get out and have so sushi!

Me and two friends went to Cambridge to go to yo sushi at 6.30pm and were refused service. They told us that we needed to book online despite being completely empty. When we tried to book online we couldn't because after 6.30pm they do not take bookings (again absolutely nobody in there). Only assuming they wanted to close early and very disappointed.

Some of the food was ok although hot dishes were only warm. The beef teriyaki was good as was the sushi but gyoza were overcooked and the fried chicken pieces could have been from McDonald’s. Dirty floor and seats. Serving bowls dirty on the outside. Staff lacklustre and no atmosphere. Such a shame, we used to love coming here.

Thank you for a great meal today! The food was incredible as always and we left very happy! My 6 year old son loves it and so do we!! The Cambridge restaurant is definitely our favourite and we've tried quite a few in London and the home counties. Would be good to see the menus back so you can peruse whilst eating.

We came here for a family dinner for a little ones birthday as he loves sushi. I don’t usually leave bad reviews but we were so disappointed. The service was absolutely atrocious, the staff were not welcoming at all, it was just poor girl running around serving all the customers and we could over hear another complaining she was too ‘weak to work’ and could see another fiddling around but ignoring all customers.Our table was sticky and not clean and where we sat we kept getting a waft of an awful smell coming from the toilets. Our food wasn’t well presented, it came in dribs and drabs over 40 minutes with the staff opting to lean over and pass the food rather than putting it on the moving platform. When it did arrive it came on dirty plates and as well as this our glasses were grotty. We had to remind them about two of our dishes after 40 minutes when they hadn’t arrived. Ok a positive note, the salmon nigiri was lovely.

Always enjoyed Yo Sushi but today was disappointing. Extremely limited menu, hard rice in the avocado maki, my dish didn’t come as described and the miso soup was watery with no tofu which it’s always had before. Even the tap water was warm! Ate our two dishes and left!!

We have been to Yo! before, where you take your bowls and then wait for your server to come and price it up based on the colour of your bowls. Then you get a shock, if you haven't noted down your spend.They have changed all this with Covid in mind. There is no 'button' to call someone. We couldn't actually get the Help to work online, but it didn't matter.You have a row of LEDs on the end. You order via their website, which is easier than you think. The lights go amber when your order is being made and about to be put on the carousel. You get an email with your order - so you can keep a tally of your spend.You see your food coming down the line and it 'breaks' and stops by your table, and the light goes green - IT'S YOURS! Everything tasted super fresh. When you want more, you just order it on the website again, and if you pay with Apple Pay, no need to get your card out. It's really easy.Yes - it costs much more that Wasabi and places like that, but this is about the experience, and after a year+ of not eating out, this was sooooo good.

Mi pareja y yo llegamos alrededor de las 7:30 pm de un domingo y era relativamente tranquilo, sin embargo, la camarera nos dijo que teníamos que sentarnos y esperar una mesa mientras ella la limpiaba. Había alrededor de 6 camareras / camareros en el turno y vimos como todos se quedaron sin hacer nada. También vimos a una pareja presionar su timbre repetidamente y nadie fue a revisarlos. Yo sushi tiene que ver con la experiencia. Te sientas en el cinturón y te atraen una multitud de platos. Además, puede divertirse eligiendo y ordenando entre la multitud de opciones en el menú. Por supuesto, si está buscando un restaurante japonés auténtico de muy alta calidad, Yo! probablemente no sea el lugar para ti (el pescado está precortado, el arroz nigiri prensado en forma, también si como a mí no te gusta la mayonesa en tu sushi, puedes pedir que se haga sin ella) pero eso no significa que no es bueno! La calidad del arroz me parece muy agradable y el sabor muy agradable. La diversión de Yo! reside en la experiencia: el menú es tan extenso que cualquiera puede encontrar algo que le guste: atiende a veganos, vegetarianos, personas con intolerancia al gluten, tiene sopas de fideos, arroces, carnes, pescados, fritos, curry, verduras, etc. No puedo comentar sobre los platos calientes, mis amigos que visitaron el restaurante conmigo siempre estaban muy impresionados con ellos (específicamente la calabaza katsu o el pollo al curry, así como el pollo frito coreano aparentemente estaban especialmente deliciosos).También vale la pena saber que a veces puede estar bastante ocupado para que pueda tomar un tiempo ordenar y llamar la atención del personal. Visited with my daughter for lunch. This is normally a favourite spot for us but this time we waited for ages to be seated then were put at a table in the dark because the lights were not working in half the restaurant. Lots of tables waiting to be cleared. Little choice on the belt though what we did have was decent. Call buttoned not working and took a while to get someone’s attention to order a hot chicken noodle dish that we returned as it was grey and cold. Asked for our favourite popcorn chicken but the kitchen couldn’t make it. Looked like only one person in the kitchen. All in all disappointing. This place used to be really buzzy especially when the chefs called out when things were ready but it was tired and dull.

After waiting about 10 mins for someone to come seat us, the guy said we could sit at the bar. Then after sitting there for a further 10 mins he walked by again, sighed and asked if we wanted menus. By making us feel like we were an inconvenience and a bother to even get a menu we left because if this was any indication of the service we didn’t want to sit there for an hour plus to even get some food!

This is a regular dinner spot for a friend and myself. We absolutely adore sushi in general, but the vibe, the service, and the quality of food makes this one of our favourite spots in Cambridge. We placed our order (a mix bag of things, but won't list them all out, just the majors that we enjoyed most), whilst waiting on our orders, each tucked into a delicious serving of Edamame beans. I know that really there's not a way for somewhere to 'mess up' Edamame, but you'd be surprised by the number of places that does. They were juicy, had just the right sprinkling of kosher salt, and spring onions. Lovely! As we were consuming these, it was not long till one of the chefs and one of the serving staff started handing us the remainders of our order... Popcorn shrimp, chicken teriyaki (large, so that it would be served with rice & salad), and the Yo! Fries.

Have been eating there for many years, and I am afraid today was the last time. The food is still nice but the quality of service and especially the attitude of some waiting staff has fallen below any acceptable standards within the recent months. Today we had to wait for a table to become free despite three tables being available on the left hand side as they were not served. When one of the tables was finally free, it took the staff at least five minutes to come and clean it up so we could finally seat. And after we pressed the button, the light was completely ignored for a long time, while the waiters were walking around or looking into their smart devices. We lost our patience and silently walked away - don't think anybody noticed.

Went to Yo Sushi for a treat this evening as it soon becomes very expensive, but thought it would be good fun. The waitress was lovely and working really hard, but she seemed to be the only one! The conveyer belt had the same sad looking dishes on that no one wanted. Nothing new was added the whole time we were there, so we ordered off the menu. There was only two chefs working and one of them moved so slowly I wanted to jump over the counter and cook it myself. After waiting and waiting nothing was coming and our poor waitress was looking more and more frazzled as people asked where there food was. Mine finally arrived and it was pretty dry and underwhelming. When asking if they were understaffed as it has been a poor experience the waiter mumbled a little bit and offered no apology. I left hungry but paid £36. Won't be going back and hope the good waitress finds another job where she isn't running the restaurant alone.

Visited on a quiet Thursday early evening - When we arrived there was some soy sauce split on the counter and various tissues/debris left on the floor by the entrance. The staff indicated where we could sit and we ordered away with enthusiasm. The food was OK, the pakchoi very salty but otherwise acceptable. There were plenty of staff about.

Our daughters saw the conveyor belt as we were walking past. They were impressed! My wife said, "I'll bet the food in Wagamama is better." The daughters begged. We had never tried Yo Sushi. So in we went. The all-you-can-drink water on tap at the table was a nice touch, and the staff were friendly.

Well well well, where do I start? Lights, waiter, action: press the button - light comes on - TABLE NUMBER FOUR PLEASE - waiter skates up to table - what will you like to order today? - ah yes I’ll have the water (water is right at your finger tips from an adorable tap) and some of your finest sashimi - why of course madam - they zoom away...you get the picture. Mmmmm the sushi is so so good - I tell you - really good. So good your mouth waters and the eyes bulge. So good your neck muscles spasm with exultation and you rise slightly from your seat all animated like and eager for your next greedy portion. The conveyor belt is fantastic for a cheeky game of sushi train (those in the know understand what I’m talking about). The toilets are like a mini nightclub if you fancy a boogie after your pudding - delightful!

Popped into Yo Sushi on a Monday (Blue Monday deals) Love me some £3 sushi. Fantastic staff got us seated as quickly as they could in the lunch time, summer holiday madness. Had Jack come and take our order and look after us for the rest of time in the restaurant. Jack was very helpful, friendly & efficient with all of our requests and really made us feel welcome. Our food was fantastic, my friend order the teriyaki beef and I had the salmon selection (sharer) and as much else as I could fit in my belly. But also they supply Gluten Free Soy Sauce...Hallelujah! Cannot wait to come back.. might have to make it a weekly occurrence.

I recently visited Yo Sushi with friends and had a fab night. We were greeted by a wonderful young lady called Caz who was very pleasant, polite and clearly had a wealth of knowledge about the items on the menu. The recommended beef teriyaki and prawn katsu curry were extremely tasty. I would definately recommend a visit and shall certainly be returning back there on my next visit to Cambridge.

We love sushi and stopped at Yo Sushi for a pit stop on a busy day. Sadly the Cambridge branch turned out to be the worst Yo Sushi I have visited. Very slow service - we had to chase to place an order, to get the dishes delivered and then, finally, for the bill. There were three staff on the floor but they spent a lot of time chatting rather than keeping an eye on what customers needed. The conveyor belt was limited in its offering - possibly because it was a hot day, so we had to order items that would usually be readily available. Delighted to have freshly made cucumber maki but very odd to have it served HOT! I usually enjoy watching sashimi being cut and sushi assembled but the mess in the open kitchen was very off putting: hot food left sitting on trays dumped randomly around the kitchen; fistfuls of food being slapped on to plates; dishes being assembled on cluttered, messy surfaces; all very unappetising and sloppy. When asked how everything was I said that the service had been very slow. The manager didn’t apologise but simply said that they were understaffed. We won’t be visiting again.

I’ve been to many of these restaurants and always been happy. Unfortunately I was very unimpressed with this one and definitely the worst I’ve been too. Food quality was very poor and very bland, the service was very poor as well.

Al principio, era bastante escéptico en cuanto a la higiene y la calidad de la comida en general, pensando que en realidad solo se va por la experiencia. ¡Pero no! Los chefs cocinan frente a usted, en medio de la cinta transportadora, para que pueda ver por sí mismo los estándares de higiene extremadamente buenos. Te dan un menú y si el plato que deseas no está en el cinturón en ese momento, puedes pedirlo con un camarero (siempre amable) y tenerlo recién hecho frente a ti. Personalmente recomiendo el sashimi de salmón, que es de excelente calidad, y el teriyaki de carne. Si eres vegetariano, iría por la coliflor frita con chile.

Primera vez que he estado en un Yo Sushi. Buen servicio, personal alegre, conversador y servicial. Nos llevaron a una mesa de inmediato. El restaurante estaba limpio. Ambiente bastante bueno y ajetreado. El chef, en el centro del transportador de sushi, estaba muy ocupado, él estaba en movimiento todo el tiempo. Buena opción de menú. Elegimos dos ramens pequeños, un picante de mariscos y pollo al curry, además de papas fritas con furikake, teriyaki de res y un plato de berenjena. Fue suficiente para dos. Con 2 copas de vino, factura por dos era de 18 cada una. Buena parada si te gusta la comida tipo japonesa. Un gran negativo, sin embargo, se está cobrando por el agua supuestamente filtrada. En ningún momento nos ofrecieron una alternativa. Eso es un gran no, no, y casi le doy a esta revisión una calificación de 2 estrellas mala por ello. ¡Vamos, Sushi, entra en el mundo real!

Throughly disappointed. Came here for a belated anniversary meal. Was shown to a table that I had booked,then was asked if we could move to the other side of the restaurant as they were shutting that half. Not really an issue. I don’t eat fish and so was waiting for chicken and duck dishes to come round..waiting waiting...only avocado chicken no duck. I had to ask the chef and it was made for me so thanks for that but I don’t expect to go to a restaurant at eight that doesn’t close until ten and only half the menu be available on the belt. Ordered dumplings,never turned up. Visited toilets and the were both splattered with faeces,and DO NOT tell me these are checked hourly as that was dried on and distrusting. Now off to find ice cream somewhere nice to sweeten the evening. Such a shame,the one Manchester Arndale was lovely. Did get 15%off the bill and asked to come back so they can prove themselves but no thanks.

It wasn’t that busy when we went in yet took a while for someone to come and seat us. Not sure if they were just short staffed but the service remained really slow. Took a long time for someone to come when we were trying to order, we had an incorrect dish from what we did order (but gave up trying to get anyone’s attention) and the bill took a ridiculous number of return visits from the server to calculate. The only redeeming quality was the food, which was tasty, so thank you to the chefs!

I've been here at least 100 times, probably many more. I stopeed going when they swapped the New Zealand Sauvingnon Blanc for that South African muck, but now it's back on we go here very often/ Love everything on the menu, shout out to the fries and indeed most of the hot food. Sashimi also good, but try to order the tuna fresh as seems to oxidise on the belt very quickly.

We went here for the sushi making class/experience and we were not disappointed! Rute and Caz who took the class were excellent in every way! Very knowledgeable, very good and very patient. Always there to lend a helping hand with anything that anyone was struggling with. they also made it very enjoyable and very educational. It was me and my father that went to the class and we both loved it so much. Well worth it. One of the other great things about this was that you could eat everything you made and we both left there very full from the amount of sushi we made and ate. The class itself covers the main different types of sushi and rolling which is great!! all of the other people at the class were really lovely too!! Overall a fantastic experience and we shall be returning to eat there!

I’m a regular visitor to Cambridge and always lunch at Yo Sushi as I can always guarantee good food freshly served and friendly staff. Especially Caz who is knowledgeable on the food being served, helpful with advice on vegetarian and vegan options and most of all polite and friendly.

The food was good, although everything seemed to have some extra sauce on it! Some things are better left plain I think. We had a great lunch at Yo! Sushi in Cambridge today. Good food, including quite a few new items, and a welcoming staff. The beef teryaki was delicious but my favourites are still chicken katsu and prawn gyoza. I love the whole concept of Yo! Sushi and always leave feeling happy.

I had ordered spicy seafood noodles on 19th March 2019 at Yo Sushi Cambridge. The noodle was one of my favourite for a long time. But what I had on Tuesday was really really bad - no single intact noodle, they all stuck together melted and no texture at all. Furthermore, I notice the portion at Yo Sushi become incredibly small, so I echo some other critics that the food at Yo Sushi is obviously overpriced for very small portions of food. I used to like Yo Sushi a lot, but I don't now. Until these issues are addressed, I will not come back again.

We always go from the vegan menu, there is a lot to choose from, even a dessert as well as the fruit. It can be cheap depending on how many items you choose, we find it very reasonable and delicious. There is often a little wait for a spot, but not for too long and it's defo worth the wait!

We visited the restaurant last Thursday afternoon, and found the service was much below the standard we are used to. Ordered Katsu prawns which didn’t arrive at all. When asked what had happened to our order, we were told that they had run out but no one communicated that to us. Instead we ordered the hot sea food with noodle, which was too unbalanced in favour of the chillies. The squid was chewy, the salmon was way over cooked.

Llevé a mi hija de 11 años a almorzar el domingo. Siempre es su lugar de elección, no solo porque le encanta la comida sino que también disfruta charlar con Carrie Anne, la gerente. Hablamos con ella durante nuestras muchas visitas y tal vez porque a mi hija también se le llama Carrie, ella realmente disfruta cuando está en el restaurante. Hay otros lugares de sushi cerca de Yo Sushi, pero mi hija no está interesada en volver a ellos. Todo el concepto de la cinta transportadora, junto con su capacidad de sumar la factura, hace que sea toda una experiencia para ella. Carrie Anne trabaja duro, es útil y se toma el tiempo para conversar con sus clientes. Ella es claramente una gran ventaja para el lugar.

Visited last Monday. The wait staff seemed to be a little rushed off there feet, I only saw 2 girls working and it was incredibly busy. We had to wait around 15-20minutes for a table but then felt a bit rushed as more and more people were being squeezed in.

Mid shopping break for some fast food. Love sushi and sashimi, but have never been into a Yo Sushi before. Helpful staff - explained how things work. Lots of more expensive bowls at 'blue bowl' price on Mondays, hence Blue Monday discount. Great food. Will definitely go again ... on a Monday!

Como alguien en una dieta sin gluten que nunca había estado en Yo Sushi antes, me resultaba muy difícil descubrir qué era sin gluten. La camarera compró un folleto muy largo de lo que había en cada comida pero, francamente, para cuando lo había leído, no sabía nada y simplemente lo adiviné al final. Afortunadamente, estaba bien, y la próxima vez que fui, conseguí encontrar la sección sin gluten en el sitio web, que fue mucho más útil. Tal vez el personal necesita ser educado en esto? Visited this branch last week. food was good if not alittle pricey by the time the bill arrived. The setting was nice, found staff pleasant and service good. First time visit for my wife and I so we got a selection of dishes and shared them so we both got to try them. The big downside came that evening when my wife and I displayed symptoms of food poisoning. 3 days later we were just about up to eating again. Completely ruined the days holiday I took for Friday and the whole weekend ruined! I've attempted to contact the company on the Friday at their listed email address to report this, yet no reply!

ramen is much worse than instant noodles. I ordered Donkotsu ramen (which means pork bone soup ramen). I could not feel any pork scent from soup and the noodle was horrible. I'm pretty sure this restaurant does not run by Japanese chef.
