Food, was good quality for the money we spent! However, the service was poor and I personally felt quite rude. We had the ‘all you can eat’, so we ordered, what we thought was as much as we could eat. We left one plate because we were very full and it didn’t look appealing. We were then told when we were paying that it was ‘all you can eat, not all you can waste’. If you’re going to charge for food wastage (baffled by this to start with), you need to market your product correctly.

I enjoy the food here but today the service was horrendous. I took my sister for her birthday for the all you can eat option. One of the plates neither of us liked (no fault of the restaurant) so we left this. We also could not finish about 5 pieces of various sushi. Upon asking for the bill (total of £72 for 2 people), the waitress told us that we should not have ordered so much if we weren’t going to eat it. She also said that they usually charge people for not finishing their plate!! Now I don’t like to waste food and was happy to take it in a doggy bag but it is against restaurant policy. Maybe the restaurant needs to rethink think policy if they don’t want to waste food. I have never in my life heard of a restaurant charging for not being able to finish your food. There was no mention of this on the menu and we were not told before ordering. The manner in which the waitress told us was quite rude and it’s actually put me off going again. It’s a shame because I really did enjoy this place.

We've had yet another great all you can eat sushi at Sushimania Cambridge. It has become quite a staple place for my partner and I especially when her sushi cravings kick in. The all you can eat option, tasty food, especially loved the miso soup with tempura options on top of the sashimi and sushi variety. The ease of order also by phone makes it almost impossible not to overdo it and over indulge so keep in mind if you're going out for dinner. It might be better to go for the half price buffet and as we definitely overate yet again... But worth it. Staff was extremely attentive, we got some orders a bit delayed but nothing too bad considering the place was packed for a Saturday evening. Definitely coming back and recommending the macha and red bean dorayaki desserts.

Sushi mania is absolutely delicious! Their tempura is amazing! There sushi wonderful. Gorgeous seating with the view of Christs pieces. A bit expensive though. I have been coming there for 3 years and each time I go it’s even better than it was before. Their sweet potato tempura is to die for.

I've been to all you can eat sushi places all over the world. This is easily on the bottom of my list. Compared to others, the selection is miniscule. You have to wait 15 minutes between orders as you order on the phone. If you are a party of 6, this rule will be awful as you can only order 6 items at a time. On top of this, they add a 10% service charge when the service is done by your phone! I've had better sushi from a petrol station. Sushi here was warm and flavourless. Management is in denial if they think otherwise. Go spend the extra money at sticks n sushi around the corner. You'll thank yourself later.

We love Sushimania. They are Great value lunchtime half price, so we can have many different dishes-tempura, sashimi, sushi , and more. It’s always our go to lunch place when we’re in Cambridge. Staff are very attentive and the sushi is so fresh and carefully handmade.

The food is great with a good selection of sushi’s and rolls made fresh. Have certainly come back and will. Look out for the happy hours which is certainly something to take advantage of (50% off most of the menu in the evenings - Happy hours). All you can eat is also good value but à la carte with the happy hours is certainly a very good option if you are on a budget.

Saw the good reviews and thought to try. Immediately met with grumpy waitresses who sighed when we replied we'd not been there before. All bills have a 10% service charge added despite no service as we ordered through the QR code. Sushi was warm and didn't taste fresh at all. Chicken tasted vile like it had gone off and the beef was very chewy. Most of the food was dry and had to be dipped in soy as a necessity. Staff became defensive when we explained why we'd not eaten all the food, and told us they'd 'let us off' the food wastage charge. 70 quid for a rubbish meal, would've have been better and cheaper to go to the chain sushi restaurant round the corner.

The staff is extremely disrespectful. When I went upstairs to the toilet, they ran after me and treated me like a thief. Afterwards, when I asked for the same sushi I always eat in here, I saw that there was almost no tobiko and when I asked why, the waitress said "What do you think you see? These are tobiko. " Then, upon my insistence, she said she would change my meal and brought this. Now i understand why this place is always so empty.

ok service, food was not very good and the sushi rice was warm not cold. the system is very dumb because if i pay for an all you can eat i don't expect to have a certain amount of time wich was 1h and 45 min. that means i could only order 7 times since you can only place an order every 15 min. the whole thing is just a scam and you can only order 12 peaces per order. even if you’re more than one person. the whole system is a scam and needs to be changed. they also charge you 10% service on top of your 26.80£ for the all you can eat. would NOT recommend ———

Manager (old asian guy) screamed continuously at me on my graduation date in front of my mum for quickly using the toilet upstairs. I had been there before to eat and food is terrible and “all you can eat” applies with thousands of conditions. Explains why the place is always empty. I feel sorry for the staff for having to deal with such nasty rude little man. Do not waste your time going there, food poisoning is the least you will get.

I had the tuna/avocado and the katsu chicken temaki rolls. Very nice. My friend had the donburi which and sea bass tempura he liked both. Very good value. Service was fine other than the search for our QR code before order. The waitress turned up with it after a small delay. Very surprised to read the reviews here. I've eaten at Sushi and Salad in Ely and have visited Japan and think the food while not outstanding was good.

I like it! During the day, food is half price, so the prices are normal. Delicious. But it's unclear. There would be more photos on the menu, and the menu would be more detailed. It feels like the restaurant is aimed more at the Japanese, who themselves know their own cuisine The portions are small so you can fill yourself up, it’s better to take a wide variety of dishes. By the way, this is what the Japanese did at the next table.

They said I couldn’t eat other food in here, because I am allergic to sushi. Then they tried to kick me out when I didn’t eat even though I was crying because I was starving. Openly rude, customers and staff giving us dirty looks for no reason, and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Don’t eat here unless you want to get violated and stared at.

Went for my daughters birthday lunch. The food was pretty good but the service was poor and 6 of us were squashed onto a table that really could only take 4 Only 3 menus were produced and 1 very limited drinks menu. We were asked what we wanted to drink immediately and when we asked for a few minutes we literally did not see the waiting staff come near us again to take any kind of order for over 20 minutes, despite numerous attempts to catch their eye. Order was made by us writing numbers on a pad, so eventually i got their attention by waving it in the air. After serving the food, it was more of the same. They never even looked at us or asked how the food was, or if we needed more drinks. After trying for 20 more unsuccessful minutes at the end to get their attention to ask for dessert menus, I gave up and walked up to the till to demand a bill so we could pay and leave. They had the cheek to add an automatic 10% service charge so I made them take it off again. The staff and management ought to understand that tips/service charges are for better than expected service... maybe even for passable service... but not for this.

I've just visited this place again after a couple of years and the first thing we noticed is that the all you can eat menu is now less than it was, thus I went with the half price a la carte menu. All the food I've ordered were lovely, good portions, some new menu items since last time I was here. I tried a lot of different menu items and I still paid less than if I was ordered all you can eat. And I was full full. All together I had a really pleasant experience and with the mobile qr code ordering it was so easy to see my how much the bill would be and everything was hassle free. I will absolutely be back and this time I won't wait that much.

Sushi rice obviously not made fresh and took out from fridge! But the worse is the manager Leo’s attitude! He is very rude with very bad manner! His staff brought us to a table and after we seated the manager yelled at us saying that we should sit at other table or we should go! We said we was brought to the table and he yelled at us saying that the manager is authority to who sit where! Not only to guests he is rude but also to his colleagues waitress! He yelled at them for a credit card machine failure (isn’t it the manager’s problem rather than blaming part time staff?) When he moved away I asked two waitresses standing together is he always like this and rude to colleagues and guests they both nodded!

Had all you can eat, was shocked at how bad the food was. Whilst the vegetable tempura was ok, everything else wasn’t. Sushi rice was undercooked which ruined anything with rice, including the Kimchi fried rice which was also flavourless. The ramen was stodgy and flavourless. The wasabi tasted like green peanut butter. The tonkatsu pork cutlet was like a piece of battered jerky. A really poor attempt at Japanese cuisine…

Edit: (Going from 4 stars to 3 stars) Manager continues to push past acceptable etiquette with an entirely different party. This place is only saved by amazing food and value. Still worth but perhaps be prepared for some awkward and rude encounters if you are one to call out behaviour. Lovely place with great staff, with exception of floor manager: with a seemingly unagrable reputation I've learnt: perhaps it's a cultural thing but even before I walked thought the door he was... Strong with customers. Nothing that would ruin a night but a warning to those with perhaps a more standard experience.

Came here for lunch yesterday and had a meal upstairs. After we paid and left the manager and a member of staff followed us out and accused us of not paying. It was incredibly uncomfortable. When our waiter explained that we indeed had paid he struggled to accept this as an answer. If you enjoy getting accosted by the manager and accused of theft you should definitely visit this place. Been here many times over the last year but will not visit again.

The absolute worst sushi I’ve ever had. Very complicated ‘bottomless’ lunch deal which is so poorly explained. Started off with simple things such as California Rolls and other such items but the seaweed wrapping was like rubber and inedible. The rice was also very ‘tough’. We had one roll that supposedly had crispy duck in it. More like duck sawdust! Two hot items were served cold and when told them they were simply microwaved (hot lettuce on side)! Noodles tasted like supernoodles on a bad day. We were still charged the full amount despite our complaints and so many dishes untouched. NEVER AGAIN!!!

update 2024: the competition is more fierce in Cambridge nowadays, the restaurant has opted for always half price menu, and the price is competitive again. The food quality is as good as the competitors (kineya, wasabi). For 7 pounds you can get a large bowl of Raman, what's to complain? As many pointed out, floor managers are always a bit grumpy. But they will not get into your way. The food taste good tho, especially the half price is a good deal.

I think the reviews for this restaurant are very harsh. I have come here a number of times and have loved it every time! The food is delicious and there are so many dishes to choose from. This place has gone down hill. I used to enjoy coming here, but they are now attempting to force tipping for service which was terrible. When someone asks to remove a service charge, the first response should be “why?” not “don’t worry I will pay the staff member from my own wage.” Two staff members tried to convince me that it was mandatory. This is why knowing your rights is key. I have no problem paying a service charge, for good service. Hell, I’d even have paid it if I received a question about the service with apology. The food was also bland and broadly tasteless this time. Such a shame, as I’ve visited so many times and enjoyed it.

The most displeasurable dining experience i’ve ever had the displeasure of experiencing. As someone who has waited on tables since the age of 14, i do understand it can be difficult especially during busier times (to which this happened not to be). However there is no excuse for plain attitude and disrespect towards customers. The staff had actively altered the menu infront of us. Dissuaded us to get more even though it was only our second round of ordering the bottomless saying that we wouldn’t be able to finish that despite it being a small order of 2 sashimi and a bowl of rice. Sushi was good, the rest of the food was mediocre at best. I genuinely cannot express my displeasure towards the two awful chinese managers. Not the kind of hospitality we are commonly known for. Had to actively argue to remove the service charge off the bill. Outrageous. food was dropped, my orders were wrong 5 times. Never have i ever gone out of my way to write a review for anything on google but had to make an exception for this one here 😭👆👆👆-10/10, would not scran here again. Dreadful and shocking. Would rather resort to eating the grass in Jesus green next time. Would still be treated nicer by passing public than was treated within this restaurant.

During exam term, I would come at 21:00 for the half-price food (after a long day of revision in a nearby college). This place is wayyyyy better than wasabi / itsu, and I love the songs that they play in the restaurant. This is probably my most regular restaurant as you can eat a lot of really nice, healthy, fresh food for about £10 each (or less if you get a main), which isn't really doable anywhere else in town. The sushi is fine, obviously not like what you would get if you paid 5 times+ the price elsewhere but still decent. Other dishes, like the pancake sticks, the seaweed salad and the ramens are great. Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is always buzzy but chilled, service is quick and prices are ridiculously cheap during weekdays. Never been disappointed yet!

We go here often as a family for the buffet , food is fantastic. My children love the place. Would recommend this place if you’re in Cambridge. The app to order food is always a bit temperamental, but once the staff assist it’s normally sorted.

Come here for the all you can eat sushi buffet. Once you place your order you'll receive a qr code which means you can order via your phone. The great thing about this buffet is you have access to all the hot and cold options. You still pay for drinks though, which are a little on the expensive side but who cares when you're stuffing yourself with sushi? The amount you can order has some limits on quantity within a time perios, but honestly we found that two rounds was plenty for us and we were comfortably within the time limit. If you're a small eater you're probably better to go a la carte, and don't expect to be able to take anything away with you, but overall probably the best value sushi in Cambridge, if you're hungry! Quality was good too.

Tried this sushi restaurant out, the sushi was extremely bland and really unappetising. The noodle bowls were generally ok, same with the chicken wings but very average. Not what i was expecting, wouldn’t go here again :(

I visited here for the all you can eat buffet and overall the experience wasn’t bad. The waitresses were nice and accommodating. We did have to ask them if we could order drinks as we weren’t offered them at the start. The digital ordering service is easy enough to use and the food comes out relatively fast. All the food tested really fresh, was well presented and tasty. The male owners did come round and keep refilling water up for us too which was nice. The only downfall I would say is that when looking at the bill we were charged for an extra drink which the waitress was apologetic for and did take off however I have seen in another review that this has happened to a customer before.

The waitresses were quite nice, but the two Chinese male managers were extremely rude and should defend be sacked and I don't even know how this place isn't out of businessright now. Even a homeless man wouldn't go back, even if it was for free.

We ordered the all you can eat. They didn't explain how the service worked when we came in. It took half an hour for our first order to come and there is a one hour 45 minute time limit. The food finally came and the quality was very poor. The rice was still hot on the sushi and the fish wasn't fresh at all. We left some pieces and went to pay and then the manager came and tried to make us pay extra for the food we didn't eat. Then I told him that we weren't happy with the quality and he just said okay. No apologies or anything. Most of the staff were also very rude, but our waitress was polite tbf.

The most horrible restaurant I have ever been in. The vegetarian and fish food is cooked in the same oil as the meat the managers are racist and islamophobic additionally the managers treats the staff like they are slaves working for them

I went there several times in the past few years. The service was always awful, and rude to a paying customer. The recent trip there was a solo trip, the tuna was not fresh and the ginger was on the table for a long time without changing.

Me and my dad came here on 26/08/23, it was our first visit to this restaurant. Me and him are big sushi lovers and we were attracted to the restaurant due to the 'All you can eat' aspect. It was relatively easy to order your food, and the food was rather enjoyable, but our food was often delivered to the wrong table and took around 30 minutes to come out of the kitchen. Despite the food quality, I must complain about the service and in- particular the manager of the restaurant. My dad went up to pay our bill which was about £60 rough for the AYCE and a few drinks. This is understandable, but then there was a '10% service charge' added onto our bill which we were not aware of. My dad realised this charge after he paid, and he brought it up to the worker since he was confused as to why he wasn't given a choice on if he wanted to pay the charge or not, which by the way is a legal right in the UK. The worked told us to speak to the manager and so we did. The manager was very rude and unprofessional, told us that we were 'stealing from the workers wages' and he was saying it loudly trying to embarrass us into not getting a refund of the service charge. Luckily, my dad is a very resilient man and he ended up getting a refund of the service charge. On our way out of the restaurant, the manager followed us and told us that 'we aren't welcome anymore' and that he 'doesn't want to see us again'. I found this very childish and petty of the manager, considering it was his mistake for not telling his workers to inform customers of the service charge. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE RUDE STAFF AND BAD SERVICE.

The katsu was delicious as was the green tea. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Asian cuisine . They also make a descent ramen.

We came for the Thursday bottomless brunch but had to leave after 20 mins. Absolutely no food options on the belt apart from edamame beans and pancakes. We complained and said this is a shambles for £29.95pp and so we left but were made to pay for the rubbish plates we picked off the belt and were charged £20 for food that we didn't even want. DO NOT DO THE BOTTOMLESS SUSHI! There are far far better places in Cambridge for sushi and I think it is now time for this place to leave Cambridge for good.

ramen is much worse than instant noodles. I ordered Donkotsu ramen (which means pork bone soup ramen). I could not feel any pork scent from soup and the noodle was horrible. I'm pretty sure this restaurant does not run by Japanese chef.

El servicio es rápido y la comida tiene un precio justo. Tienen una pantalla táctil para ordenar lo que facilita las cosas. La mayoría de la comida es muy sabrosa, aunque algunos un poco grasosa. Recomendaría los caldos.
