Terrible value for money and definitely not worth the price. We ordered the “OG JFC”… the images speak for themselves. Will purposely avoid YO Sushi in the future out of principle (don’t screw your customers).

We went for a bottomless lunch and it was fun. I wasn’t expecting the food quality to be the best, nor the customer service. The waiting staff were nice although one of them seemed a bit clueless and not that friendly. Tbh the main reason I've given 2 stars is because the guy making the food by the conveyer belt and was so rude. I asked for a dish that I hadn’t seen on the belt but was suppose to be included. So the waitress went to ask him and then he came over and chucked a random dish at us, muttered something then walked off. When he realised it was the wrong dish he said it’ll take 5 mins but proceeded to give us the wrong one again. The miscommunication isn’t the issue for me because it happens and as long as your nice it’s no problem for me. But he was not nice at all. I don’t know why you work in customer service if you seem so bothered for having to interact with customers. We came out to yo sushi having only one day off to receive that attitude towards us for no reason other than asking for a dish. Really strange and uncalled for. There was a lovely girl that chatted to us at the end though so we tipped her personally.

Was charged £13.38, looking at what I ordered I shouldve been charged £12.45. I believe I've been charged a service charge, but I was never told about this or given a receipt to show the breakdown of the charge! Really terrible to add this on but not tell anyone!

My experience at yo yesterday dinner time was very disappointing and poor. There were 2 staff members in the floor which meant you had to keep trying to get one of their attentions. The food on the belt was minimal at best, with multiple plates of the same dish. When ordering my food they had no shrimp, no pumpkin katsu, no cotton candy cheesecake and very minimal options you could order more than one plate of. I came last week and again they were out of the same items. The waitress told us it because we have no manager ordering the food and in the nicest way possible that’s not the customers problem. I mean two visit I a row and no shrimp …. Isn’t that what yo sushi is about … different options of fish …. No full fat coke either which just topped off the whole experience. The staff lacked motivation and drive which made the evening tedious. After paying just shy of £50 on my part of the bill I came away feel dissatisfied and annoyed …. No any excuses and no action it’s the same every time I dine with yo! I expect something to be done about this for me please at your earliest convenience

disappointing visit for various reason, one girl working the floor alone wasn’t very attentive, took ages to pay and leave, food seems less well made, perhaps rushed? but mainly we would usually spend 60-100 a visit.. this bill was 132!! and we weren’t even drinking beers, we could have had a very nice meal in a very nice place for that price. we wont bother with yo sushi anymore which is a shame.

Food was AMAZING. my partner said it was the best chicken katsu curry he’s ever had. and i had the crunchy california rolls and they were AMAZING. so so nice and fresh. Service was really good and they were so helpful and quick on their feet and always checked on us just in case we needed anything which was nice to know. The chef was also really lovely and obviously made amazing food.

Had a table for two at 6.30pm, there was very little to choose from on the carousel so decided to order something freshly prepared. Service was unfortunately very poor and we were ignored, along with other patrons. Once we had got their attention, we asked for the bill and left. Very poor experience overall.

I popped in for an Early dinner with a friend. The staff was friendly, though, with the bell gone, it felt like placing orders was no longer welcome. Most of the food on the conveyor belt was labelled for the hour before, so we were hesitant to eat it, knowing it was meant to be thrown the hour before. But from what I could see, I believe they were training some new kitchen staff, so I could understand things were forgotten, but for those unaware, they may have grabbed the food and eaten it. The staff were lovely, and the head chef checked in on us and quickly fixed an incorrect dish. But the floors were messy, the doors in the bathroom were coming off the hinges, the taps were just broken and falling about, the hand dryer wasn't working, and the Toilet roll holder was held together with a sticker... Come on, head office, this is a central location where tourists often come through and get first impressions of your establishment and leave with an idea of what to expect from other YOs! This restaurant needs more funding and TLC. Just earlier in the year I came in and it was completely fine, so I have no idea what has happened since January and now, but you need to reverse it, your reviews say it all. I have a video from the bathroom showcasing the issues if you wish to see it.

My daughter fancied going to Yo Sushi in Guildford today, she’d been a bit under the weather but really fancied going there for lunch. We drove half an hour to get there, we hadn’t booked, but thought it wouldn’t be too busy. We entered to be asked “Have you booked?” We said no, the waitress then said we have no space I’m afraid. Earliest we can do is 3.30pm. Disappointed, we left, then I thought I’d just check on the app and was able to book for 2.15pm. I don’t understand why we weren’t offered this in the first place. When we went back at 2.15pm, we had the same waitress who served us. I was tempted to say something but instead decided to give a review. The restaurant was empty, probably 3 families eating. So, she was basically turning away business. The service was very average, the food ordering had changed from before, but this wasn’t explained. Quite disappointing overall. Food was lovely though.

My partner and I walked in at 1pm to book a table for later in the day and we were told that we could not book but if we walked in, the most we would have to wait would be 15 minutes for a table. When we turned up later, the place was mostly empty but we were told we could not have a table at all. When we questioned this and how empty the restaurant was, the waitress we spoke to became very rude. We just had to leave :(

I would not advise visiting with young children as service was appalling from the rude and ignorant waitress. Leaving us waiting an excessive amount of time for a seat in a nearly empty restaurant, not bringing over a menu, laughing and smirking whenever we tried to get her attention, no offer of children’s cutlery/highchair etc. Then asked for a tip at the end 🤷🏼♀️ Food was tasty but not worth the expense when service is so bad.

Very good experience at YO! The service is fast, cooking in front of you and the staff are friendly and attentive. We had bowls, they were well stocked and excellent. The treadmill system is nice although a little expensive compared to what you find in France. A good place, not very cheap, £45 for two bowls and a drink, but that's the price of quality and sushi.

Very unhappy! Currently pregnant craving sushi but not being able to have any seafood/raw fish I opted for the veggie sushi which I was told was absolutely fine during pregnancy! Couple of hours pass by and I start to feel a bit unwell, queasy and upset stomach, I come home and start profusely vomiting, feel like I couldn’t move because I’d be sick again! I’ve had zero sickness throughout my pregnancy so I knew this was something I had eaten! Now sitting with constant tummy ache, bad nausea and diarrhoea! Very concerning and worrying especially being pregnant! So disappointed and will not be eating there again.

The staff were fine, and I'm sure doing everything as expected, the failings here are from Yo Sushi itself. I cannot overstate how overpriced this is for the standard of food, the biggest rip-off sushi I've ever had. Echoing others comments, the belt was mostly empty with little choice. I had an average amount of small dishes and two drinks for one person and it was almost £40. Again, staff were fine, I agreed to a service charge because this is not their fault. Go to your local Japanese restaurant instead and you'll get twice the quality for less money. I'll never go back to a Yo Sushi after today.

Not been to Yo! for a while and to be honest can’t see myself coming back anytime soon. It has lost the feeling of an exciting sushi bar as all the things that made it special seem to have gone, where are the water taps? The call button? We were told to wave if we wanted anything very hard to do when the staff members generally had their backs to you as they were doing other jobs. Where is the conveyer belt of sushi? There were a few plates going past but not the selection or amount that used to be. The staff that were there were very nice and we couldn’t fault them but there needed to be more of everything.

Good grief this place has become truly abysmal. There aren't enough staff and the staff who are there aren't paying much attention to the customers. The food was positively mediocre. Sashimi was so cold it was like it had just come out of the fridge. Tataki too thin and drowned in dressing. Basic vegetarian dishes wayyy overpriced. My very first 'Sushi experience' on my daughter's 14th birthday (she's a huge fan despite only eating plain rice, pasta and cheese, plain pasta.....etc when she was younger.) and I must say I am now a Yo! Sushi 🍣 fan too! slightly pricey although you can choose the price of what you eat by using colour coordinated dishes so it's easy to stay within budget....just calculate the different coloured dishes stacked at end of table. Very small dishes but can be padded out by choosing a rice dish so you still leave full. Maximum cost of single dish £6.75. Minimum £3.75, select a dish from the multi coloured assortment passing your table on an endless conveyer belt of freshly prepared items or press the help button on your table and a server is with you very quickly and you can order from them if you're not sure about eating the ready prepared items. Hot and cold dishes something for everyone's taste. Had a really excellent time. I doubted I would enjoy sushi but I promise if you hve any doubts now you will be a Yo! Sushi convert by the time you leave.

We thought they were short staffed as no tables were cleared even though there weren't many people in there. The waitress cleared a table for us and we explained we only had an hour max. She seemed to be the only one on duty and 2x chefs. Had to ask several times for drinks and menus. Only 6 dishes on the conveyor. One chef was doing takeaways, the other filling the front fridge, but neither of them putting extra dishes on the conveyor. Ordered hot food quickly due to time, but waited for over 3/4 hour. Another female chef turned up in the kitchen and gave us 1 of our dishes and when my husband said we had ordered several more, she snapped at us and said they would be coming. When they did come, all at the same time, one of the bowls was cold (yes, was a hot dish) We sent it back, but had no time left to eat. All the staff didn't want to be there. No water. I thought yo sushi had gone bust in our area but it seems to have regrouped itself, we travelled to our nearest 'yo' in Brighton. Things have changed, no water at the tables anymore, along with service button, making it very difficult to call staff when needed and especially if you're not au fait with 'scanning' items off the menu. As with other reviews,I am finding it hard to write anything positive. Restaurant felt grimy, service slow and food average at best. The same, no more than 15 (we counted) mainly plant and sushi rolls, went past us on the track in the 90 mins we were there, which I thought was there to attract you into ordering more ? The two types of sashimi were good but cooked stuff, just ok. I ordered salmon fire cracker rice, which turned up as bland boiled rice with a few peppers and salmon in. I queried it and the reply was "oh did you want it hot, i can give you some chilli powder? " isn't there a clue in the name... Waitress informed of our woes, only to be ignored as she's probably heard them a thousand times. If this is a revamp, it shouldn't have bothered and stayed bust.....

The food is OK: the rice not too cold, fish relatively fresh (the wasabi is out of a tube, but that's normal for fake sushi). However, the whole experience is let down by appalling service. We did not bring cards that day and did not know that Yo sushi Brighton did not accept orders without cards. When we told the waitress there that unfortunately we do not have cards, she rudely replied: “Then you have to go, don’t you?” I have never had such a bad experience anywhere. Food was tasty and nicely cooked and prepared but there were plenty of things which could be improved. 1. We arrived to only 2-3 other customers in the restaurant but had to wait for the table to be wiped down…seemed a bit disorganised for the tables not to be ready, when not busy! 2. Ordering by app was clunky and very inconvenient, if you want to order more, it’s another order and another transaction. The system takes the orderer away from their friends/families attention. It was also difficult to find what you want easily, no search function and the headings were not consistent with the physical menu provided. Items were also not available on the app?!? These issues will stop us returning. 3. G&T from a can, dumped into a glass without ice (machine had been broken for some time apparently) with no garnish, really poor! 4. As the tables aren’t properly waited, we had to ask regularly for things, drinks glasses, water, spoons etc. Overall we had good food but the experience was poor compared to other restaurants.

UPDATED 0 stars!! Been a loyal YS customer since day one all over the UK. The new concept of ordering is frustrating. Food quality is poor straight from fridge cold and nothing is fresh. The whole experience is dull and you can really see where spending has been clawed back because of “covid” I don’t see YS surviving when there are better alternatives out there. The atmosphere and theatre of this once great restaurant concept has gone. Staff are nice but product poor and restaurant tired and needs a deep clean. Told to email YS. Emailed them nothing came back have had to send a follow up email. Very poor customer service and recent negative reviews just go to show what a failing brand it it. Go to Pompoko round the corner. It was good to see a near empty restaurant on a bustling Friday night. Did we have a booking? No, just popped in because we fancied some sashimi. Could we sit at one of the many empty tables? No, just room to prop up the conveyer…Any food on the belt? Nah! Of course not! Could we have a beer? Sold out! Serve yourself using the app. Have we pre-selected a service charge? Yes of course! Could we tell you what it’s for? Probably not! We finally stumbled through the small selection of food (up to £38 for a few items). Went to press ‘order’ and got asked to sign up to order our food! Don’t put yourself through this, there’s a perfectly serviceable Greggs just round the corner.

Food was passed to us by the chef and didn't arrive via the conveyor as promised (disappointed son). The food wasn't great. The Korean fried chicken was sickly sweet with no flavour. Had to get up and ask the seated servers for a fork for my son who was also disappointed with his katsu curry. No check-backs, so no opportunity to complain. Restaurant was dirty (including the single menu we had to share). Only interactions with servers was to be seated and given drinks. Felt more like McDonalds with restaurant prices and compulsory pre-tipping. £27 poorly spent.

I really wouldn't bother, there are much better sushi places in Brighton, (I have lived here for 20 years) you can even actually order from a person in most of them.... we won't be going back sorry xx

i had for dishes that cost 20£ and they were small and not fresh at all, the small dishes that we were served with had a smell and the Katsu Curry ordered was very sour so overal the food was 4/10 but the service was good and very friendly. Definetly not going back there again sadly

Pretty alright experience all round. I do think though that it would have been better if certain foods were cooked less as they were a bit overdone. Would deffo eat there again but it wasnt great as i have been there multiple times and asked for a katsu curry without curry and they still give me the curry even when explicitly asked not to :( but overall rice and sushi was brill. Upset that they dont have the lightup bubble sticks anymore.

I used to love Yo! It was a great place. The waitress who seated us asked if we wanted ginger and wasabi so we said yes please. Gone are the days it’s already on your table. She never brought it, but I noticed someone else had helped themselves so I asked where to get them and also helped ourselves. The waitress was too busy with Deliveroo drivers to notice. The portions have drastically decreased in size and quality and loads of my favourites (the octopus balls for example) are no longer on the menu. We had to ask for our sashimi as the new conveyor belt system didn’t deliver our order or someone else had it. The sashimi was pretty pathetic too. I left feeling disappointed, was definitely not worth the money in terms of service and quality. Will be unlikely to return.

Food was not great, especially the Sashimi which was poor (suppose I should have expected that from a chain). Unable to use the app to get kids meals free as per current offer - was told I would be refunded and email sent to confirm this. No email received a day later. Was told if no email received to call and they will send again - phone number goes through to automated message and unable to leave a message as mail box full. Bad experience would not go again or recommend to others

I was just on my way to the playground with my two years old daughter when we felt suddenly very hungry. Service was quite quick, food is really good selection wether you want just coffee, ice cream, doughnut, sandwich or chips. My daughter has had the children's menu, there are 4 choices, burger, sausage, fish or chicken nuggets, accompanied by chips and drink. Best chicken nuggets so far we had in town. I had bacon sandwich, the bread was really fresh and the bacon perfect. The cafe is next door to the famous bar with live singers.

Went here on May Day on one of our few days off for afternoon tea, was nice but the China was a bit old and tatty and it didn't match, the pictures looked a lot better. The food its self was nice and it was relaxing....until the drunks come outside for a fag!

Not a great first impression, made to wait too long inside the unwelcoming entrance next to a fridge. Was asked if we booked online, and meet with a disapproving look as just a walk in. Once seated was told the long task to ordering food, ok if you a regular visitor. I do not want to have to scan a QR code, register for an account, search a really poor online website that does not match the menu on the table. Or tell you if items are available until you have to ask team member. I will not be back as YO Sushi is falling way behind other restaurants in the same space.

I love Yo!Sushi! I have been visiting for at least 17 years. I hate the barcode ordering system. It's okay for 1 or 2 people but a real pain for 5. I made 6 seperate orders when I visited last Tuesday.

I’ve had sushi many times during my visits to Amsterdam and generally go to Sumo just off the Leidseplein. Alas, although Yo! Brighton also serves Sushi, it isn’t in the same league as Sumo

I do not recommend, expensive and compared to similar prices you have several other choices around with greater quality.

Since COVID the conveyor and water taps no longer in operation, both unique selling points. £2.15 for small bottle of water (no larger bottles). £3.10 for small bottle of coke, and a unremovable 7% service charge. Shame.

A fantastic way to spend a Sunday. Dean was friendly, clear, helpful and kind. Really taking time to explain and help my 9yr old roll her sushi. There was lots to eat and it was all delicious. Fantastic.

Me and my husband always love to visit Yo! Sushi. We did Sushi workshop 3 years ago and was unforgettable as the staff were fantastic and the give us a lot of food after. We visited Yo! Sushi yesterday before the match between 🇲🇦 and 🇵🇹 and after. We tried different plates as the menu has so much variety. The food is always fresh and lovely. My new favourite being the Inari tacos.

Ordered food from here for the first time as it was pretty cheap and the pics online looked good. this was about 2-3 weeks ago. i ordered a katsu chicken curry. The day after i had it , i was throwing up and literally crapping myself for a week straight. i went to the doctors and they told me that i had food poisoning. I’m sorry but it’s not hard to cook chicken. It literally couldn’t be from anything else. don’t waste your money at this place

shrimp tempura was not de veined and full of poop, we then asked for a clean portion, they took the prawns and then came back out 5 minutes later with the SAME plate of dirty tempura… after asking again we finally got some de veined prawns. the service was okay however. food came out at a good pace, but was mediocre and flavourless at best.

I've been coming to Tonkotsu for some years now, both London and Brighton. The quality and flavours have never changed, love them completely. My main problem is with the ramen portions, they used to be HUGE. And yes, it was difficult to finish them and yei for no more food waste, but the prices didn't go down with the portions. That has bugged me ever since. Even so, love the food, nice atmosphere and always great service. I still go there so, yeah, love them.

One of the best places I have eaten in a while, been here twice now the suishi is great and the tapas style food is delicious so much so I don't have any photos of them as I was too busy tucking in. we went as 3 and picked a few dishes to share, at the time they had a festive mulled wine which was a delight. Picked a few things from the conveyer belt too! We booked in advance and it seems like that would be advisable as it is very popular but there where empty tables which where free. I highly recommend a visit!
