One of the best places I have eaten in a while, been here twice now the suishi is great and the tapas style food is delicious so much so I don't have any photos of them as I was too busy tucking in. we went as 3 and picked a few dishes to share, at the time they had a festive mulled wine which was a delight. Picked a few things from the conveyer belt too! We booked in advance and it seems like that would be advisable as it is very popular but there where empty tables which where free. I highly recommend a visit!

Moshimo is a fine place to have dinner, not so keen in the broad light of day but purely from an aesthetics pov The food is ok, I think the best thing it has going for it is the big selection INCLUDING VEGAN so if you're going out with vegan and omnivorous pals then this is a really great shout. House wine is a decent price and not too bad so tight budgets can be catered for. Would not bother with the sushi boats they're very overpriced for an underwhelming offering.

Moshimo was lovely. We went as a huge 20-person group, and the staff accommodated that amazingly. I tried the sea-bass ceviche, which was only okay to me, it kind of tasted like cockles, like to the T, which wasn't awful and it was definitely fresh but not my cup of tea. However, a friend and I shared a £40 sushi boat, which more than made up for the mediocre ceviche. It was absolutely delicious, fresh, and looked beautiful. I was super full after sharing the sushi boat and the starter. It was an expensive meal if you're on a budget, definitely a once a month thing for me, but it was really enjoyable!

The most lovely meal we’ve had in a good while! Moshimo is a firm favourite for my family, the membership cards, the friendly staff, and the beautiful food! The shrimp tempura was the winner of the night, light crispy coating, with flavourful and juicy shrimp inside. A true delight. Not to mention that it’s dog friendly! The rose was delicious, the food came out super quick, piping hot, and absolutely perfect, from the soy ribs that fell off the bone, to the sashimi, not forgetting the gyozas!! A massive shout out to our waiter Dexter, who was attentive, helpful, kind, approachable, quick to help, and all round a diamond. Thanks for another lovely night, and we look forward to many more to come! Thanks guys! See you soon ☺️

We ordered sushi, hot tapas and chicken bulgogi. I’ve eaten in the restaurant before and loved it so accepted it’s a little pricier for the quality. It was honestly so terrible. I’m not one to write a review but blimey it was bad. Half the sushi arrived disassembled, the aubergine had 2 pieces (???) and the bulgogi was so awfully spiced with terrible cheap chicken. The fish in the sushi was not fresh and flavourless. I’ve not ever had sushi that is filled with lettuce before??? What on earth was that. All round really disappointed and £80 worse off. Edited response to moshimo- I’m sorry that you believe it is a better use of your time to write a long catty response to me than it is to look at your own process, question what went wrong with this delivery and improve. You can see I’m not lying from the pictures and evidenced by the fact you’ve told me to lodge a formal complaint with Deliveroo. I don’t know why you are trying to both nullify my experience and also tell me it is true and I should’ve complained through a different medium. To tell a customer to use ai because you just don’t like their response isn’t going to get you anywhere. Deliveroo actually TOLD me to leave a review for you instead of taking it to them! Also- commenting that you have looked at my profile and assessed my other reviews is creepy as hell 🤢

I used to quite like this place. Usual conveyor belt of nice things going around. Large menu of pretty good food. Somewhat unexpectedly the tempura Udon noodles turned out to be really rather fab. Who'd have thought it. Anyway, food and service was very good. Now here is the issue. Dogs. Lots of dogs. What is it that people have to bring their dogs into restaurants ? There were six dogs within immediate vicinity of us. Some sat on the seats , some on the floor. Staff stepping over them. Meantime I'm thinking is my granddaughter sat where a dogs backside and feet have been. Then ,of course, the unavoidable odd barking or yapping. Control the beast !!! Time to leave and not with a warm blue plastic bag in my pocket ! Please stop this nonsense.

Shame the service is so bad because the food is actually good. We had a very bad experience today. The waitresses did not have a clue what they were serving. We were a party of six and ordered a variety of fish dishes and vegan dishes. They initially brought out several wrong dishes, plates we didn’t order. When we asked about them, they didn’t even know the names of the dishes or which ones were vegan or not. At one point, they mentioned a couple of dishes were vegan, but when we asked again, they were actually not. They had to go back and forth to the kitchen with the dishes multiple times to ask what they were and if they were vegan, like five times. They kept apologizing but continued making more mistakes. The same issue occurred at dessert. It was very frustrating when a restaurant that has a very good plant-based selection, clearly explained in the menu, made us not trust what we were actually eating. When we ordered the bill, surprise, it was wrong, and we had to ask to remove dishes we didn’t even eat. Very disappointed with the experience. I took my family this weekend as a treat, and it made us feel uncomfortable.

Dear traveller - I'm a simple beast. Put me next to a sushi conveyor and, provided enough ebi (shrimp) and sake (salmon) drift past me, I'll probably be happy. All I ask is that the fish be fresh and the wasabi suitably potent. If you really want to impress me, drop a glass of Kirin beer with me - or at least some green tea macha. Moshimo (née MoshiMoshi) used to be a step up from the meh experience of the likes of Yo!Sushi. Some time a few years back though, before the pandemic, something changed and the experience really took a nosedive. My husband and I ate there this evening, hoping it might have regained its former glory having survived COVID-19. No such luck. Ebi - shrimp nigiri - is now the second most expensive sushi dish on the conveyor. A plate of two prawns, splayed over rice, is a "black" plate and about £5. That is bonkers! Ditto for the salmon (sake) and the tuna (ōtoro). The salmon was fine, but over-priced. Fresh salmon has a distinct taste to it, and fresh tuna melts in the mouth. I saw two pieces of tuna going round the conveyor; my husband had the more presentable one and the other we allowed to continue on its way. It looked like it had been there for a while, so why interrupt its journey? We also tried two of the sake cocktails: sake margarita and sake daiquiri. Neither of them tasted remotely alcoholic. We can only imagine that literally *a shot* of sake was thrown in, which is the equivalent of making a cocktail with a shot of white wine. Each cocktail cost £12! It was daylight robbery! The final bill for a bunch of conveyor plates and those two drinks came to about £95. I asked to remove the optional 12% gratuity - no disrespect to the staff, who were perfectly nice, but I'm not giving The House an extra tenner for extremely anæmic drinks and serving myself some plates of fish and rice. I would expect that the staff are all paid properly, regardless of tip. The fish was supermarket quality. Absolutely nothing amazing or even good. Kokoro does (or at least did) much better sushi. The wasabi was very weak; I appreciate it's not proper wasabi - like most places outside of Japan it's actually just dyed horse radish - but I do expect it to have a little bit of a kick without needing a half-teaspoon each time. The drinks were a joke. The whole thing was a poor show start to finish. I will, again, call out that the staff were perfectly nice. This is no reflection on them. Although I might recommend that you not constantly drift over, trying to take away empty plates: I like having a stack of plates so I can keep track of what I've had and how much I've spent. It's a pointless low-level trick to try and get customers to spend more by removing the most obvious signpost of how much one has spent. You don't need to do it so knock it off. Traveller: go literally anywhere else for sushi of the same or better quality at a lower cost. Moshimo: I understand the cost-of-living crisis has made running a restaurant hard... Jesus, we had to sell our house because of the changes to mortgage rates! This is not the right way to run things, though. You need good, local ingredients that pack a fresh punch and customers need to see some value for what they order - eg £12 should get you a cocktail that has a detectable level of alcohol in it.

The location and over setting is very pleasant, we were there mid week for lunch. The staff were super friendly and helpful taking into account my mothers hearing issues and finding us a quiet spot to sit at, and did in fact turn down the music a notch or two which was really appreciated. The drinks were good too. I'm a big fan of Japanese cuisine, which is why we selected this spot, in particular sushi and sashimi. We did orfer from the menu rather than using the conveyor belt ordering the £40 boat option and some tempura prawns. The food was good however I found the salmon and tuna sashimi to be too thickly sliced which I'm sure some would find a challenge. This is where they lost out on 4 or 5 star option, a little more care and attention to these details would be good to see. I am being picky here and I'm sure for most it would go unnoticed. I would still recommend it as I am being picky and it's very much a personal preference.

So all of the dishes we got besides the edamame and miso soup were disappointing. Price: way too high for what you’re getting. Service: not really worth mentioning one way or the other. Ambiance: pretty good. I guess this (and the good mission around sustainability) is why people go here. First up - the food here is amazing. And the service likewise. But having turned up on the basis of the Moshimo 50% madness deal for members for January it was disappointing to save just £3.82 on £150+ bill. To be fair, it does say to check the terms and conditions on their website (which we clearly failed to do in sufficient detail). The conditions include dropping the 50% discount to 5% for a party of 5 (which seems a bit harsh given it’s 50% for two), and excluding all drinks, desserts, miso soup, soft shell crab etc. We will return at some point as the food is awesome, but the intricate nature of the 50% discount leaves a bit of a bad taste.

Three of us went to Moshimo for lunch. The service was great and the food was excellent. Will certainly be back.

I wasn’t a fan of this place which is shame as I’ve been wanting to go for years. The food is average and the cost is very expensive. The service was average as our food all arrived at different times. My friends had a very poor service as well and i am very upset to hear how they have been treated. Can say I won’t be returning. I also think the businesses replies to the lowest rating reviews are very unprofessional and is a testimony to their values. Edit- thanks for taking the time to leave me that response !! Me and my friends went at the same time they organised it and were treated terribly afterwards. I’ve been wanting to go for years (when I was a student) hence didn’t go due to budget. The food is average no point in bringing it to the attention of your staff. Apologies the whole bill was more than £100 not per person my error. Have a great day!

Could not fault the place. Felt like a more upmarket version of waggamammas with tons of sushi options. We all (fam of 4) ate loads of various dishes all really nice and the bill came to way less than we anticipated. If I lived in Brighton id be here all the time! Highly recommended.

Awful customer service. Their terms and conditions for booking a table are unclear and misleading, had a group dinner and multiple people had food spilt on them by staff, poor attention to diners, we were left waiting almost an hour for food. Then we had an extortionate service charge added to the bill which we had to prove we would like removed, and then finally when we received a surprise additional charge to our bank account a few days later and we called to ask what this was for, we were shouted at down the phone by a rude employee stating that this was a "small family-business" and that its tough and we should just cough up £50. Great look Moshimo. Won't be coming back again.

Brighton institution that’s always reliable. Great veggie/vegan selection and the vegan sashimi is a marvel. How do they do it?? Large menu that’s great for dietary restrictions. Would go back.

Just no. The food was not very good. We had the teriyaki chicken, Korean chicken, pork ribs, all of it was dry and covered in sauce to disguise the dryness, possibly because it’s been sitting out for a while and reheated. The rice was soggy. Only nice dish was the tempura soft shell crab. The only plus side was the service which was friendly and attentive. Everyone else was ordering sushi, we did not because it was cold weather, maybe this is where we went wrong but probably will not come back here.

I looooove Pompoko. It’s a small restaurant and serves wonderful Japanese food with fluffy rice and flavorful sauces. I love the tori chili don. Staff are friendly and it’s located in such a convenient spot!! Do not forget to bring cash (☆_☆)
