I don't go to Cribs often but when I do I treat myself to Yo!Sushi. It was pretty quiet there (all of Cribbs) tonight so it could have been easy for the staff to be complacent but the service and attention I received was to the highest standard which is what has made me leave a review. I dined alone for the main and my husband joined me to share dessert. The food was tasty as always, we got the 3 plates for £9.95 deal x2 so very reasonable too. Thanks to the team for a lovely evening, I might even be tempted to make the trip more often :)

Disappointing bottomless sushi tonight. Great if you like fish, however as someone who is allergic to fish, I waited 45mins (half the alocated time) for non fish sushi before giving up, despite having asked the staff multiple times.

Was an excellent visit. Despite them being very busy, the staff were helpful and super friendly which was really appreciated as they helped keep our children really happy. One of the kitchen team went out of their way to quickly prepare a dish that my youngest was desperate for and helped avoid an unhappy boy! The service staff did an excellent job in difficult conditions too, they were very busy but kept on top of things and were very professional.

Awful. Waited 10 minutes before even being acknowledged by a member of staff (despite her walking past 4 or 5 times, seeing us and other customers waiting to be seated, then ignoring us). Another member of staff eventually sat us down with menus. I asked for allergy info which I was told they would get, but they never returned with it. Fortunately I was able to access the information online. During the time we were there no one came to take a drink order or even spoke to us. I managed to get their attention to pay (funny that..). The woman who served us had to ask if we wanted to add a service charge to the bill - what service? Giving us a menu and taking payment? Ridiculous that staff are told to ask for this when they are too busy to offer any service. While we were there we saw another table who’d been sat just before us give up and walk out as they weren’t being served. Overpriced mediocre food and lack of service. Also, don’t bother if you’re gluten free as there’s very limited options.

We went on a Thursday for the bottomless belt. The waitress Maria, was very attentive and helpful. The food however was lacking. The same dishes travelled around the belt for the entire time we were there. There was very little variety; Cucumber/avo maki, salmon and a spicy roll. We paid £29.99 each and were left feeling underwhelmed by the lack of choice.

Disappointed! Visited with my wife for lunch we were seated promptly , we ordered our food together expecting it to arrive at the same time as we like to share our food and eat together unfortunately not! my wife`s came out ok about 4 minutes later mine had still not arrived so we askes where my food was and was told mine may be another 20 minuets , we explained that we wanted to have our food together and could they keep my wife's warm and come out together to which we were told they don`t have fertilities to do that but did take it back and redo my wife`s so it eventually came out together , i had the spicey seafood ramen to which there were 2 prawns cut up 2 slivers of salmon and hardly any noodles , we asked where our pots were and the waiter gave us the pot`s on the table that had already been used by other people and looked grubby we said to the waiter they have been used he just said that`s what we do , we drank out of our Fanta bottles as the glasses we were given looked dirty, we had no apology from staff , the couple next to us had to asked for clean glasses and were even asked to pay for their food while still eating we will not be returning.

We have always enjoyed eating at Yo Sushi here in cribbs. For such a busy restaurant the team manage it very well. I was most impressed by a team member who I believe was called Freddie, who gave us top quality customer service under continual pressure of a such a busy kitchen. The food was delicious! 5/5 stars!

Very slow service. Kids main meal came out after sweet pancakes and after adults main, wasnt great experience with kids patience. Had to remind kids meal couple of times as it took more than 30min, had a feeling it was forgotten. Not a great choice of drinks either, just bottled drinks for softs. No receipt provided at the end too, just the server comes with the machine and tells total amount. Wouldn’t go back.

My visit to this restaurant was a disappointment. It was very dirty and it jumped into the eye, I was uncomfortable. The food was absolutely not compatible with the prices. The price was high and the quality of the food very bad. I was really upset about this because I was starving and after visiting this restaurant, I was completely disappointed :(

Exceptional food and quality. All very clean and we were given a great and attentive service by Octavian. I went with our children and we were all served quickly and given loads of help ordering. We have been twice this month as hoped the first time was a one off but sadly not. The food is delicious if you can actually get any, but the service is so slow, it’s impossible to actually order anything and there’s a really poor selection on the belt which is very slow to be restocked. Today we were desperate to order more food but after being told by the server he would “be with us soon”, after 25 mins waiting we decided to just give up and leave it.

Pretty underwhelming. Slowish service. Ordered the chicken teriyaki ramen which is to avoid. Broth had no flavour. Noodles were overcooked, mushy, chopped finely and without flavour. The flavouring of the chicken didn’t pair well with the rest of the dish. I’ve just spent 5 weeks in Japan and the Yo Sushi trying to target that authentic Japanese experience falls far short of the mark. They’ve tried to do a Konbini or convenience store offering but had run out of one of the headline items. That was the reason I went there for food in the first place. There appears to be a lack of organisation to notify customers before they sit down about availability of items. Generally overpriced and low quality as well. The food on the conveyor appeared plasticky. There were items on the conveyor that were in the menu either, they kept going round and round, I assume no one knew what they were!

I feel sorry for the staff there. Clearly understaffed on all occasions I’ve visited. They work really hard but unfortunately you end up waiting in excess of 20 minutes just to order, then a further 30/40 minutes for food. Food quality has massively declined in recent years, portion sizes reduced, prices increased significantly. Basic Maki dishes now quite expensive. Bring back the ordering via the app! Surely it’s much easier to manage!

ordered from this restaurant well before they closed , as our delivery driver arrived at the restaurant they cancelled, could have made an effort to call us and make us aware that it was going to be cancelled 45 minutes ago when we placed the order rather than making our driver wait and then cancelling it on him , rang 3 times and no answer , so cheeky , what a load of balls won’t be wasting my time again, absolutely clueless

There is nothing Yo! About this particular restaurant I think the better name for it is No! Sushi. On two occasions we have come to the cribbs venue and found it to be a cluster of miserable staff and even sadder food, the atmosphere and the staff look like they are re-enacting the walking dead on ice, we had dirty utensils, dirty glasses that had to replaced for our health and safety, and no service at all, the classic dishes were no wear to be seen as are the Staff, as we leave I am disgusted by the way this place Is handled and will never be returning. Train your staff and crack a smile for once. P.s on both occasions you have run out of buns and rice.. how can you run out of rice in a sushi restaurant.

The delivery time kept getting getting pushed back. I called the restaurant - it turns out they had prepared my order, then forgot about it so didnt tell the driver it was ready until i called ! by the time I got my order the hot item was cold and the cold item was a soggy tasteless mess !!!

Usually I love to sushi. The staff are always busy or pretending to look busy and it always takes ages when ordering food… but I’ve become used to it and know what to expect. Today was different there was a very attentive helpful solo staff member. The kitchen wasn’t buzzing with staff but nor was the restaurant. However I always get the same dishes due to allergies and intolerances and I can say this time I don’t know if something ingredient wise has changed but I left feeling sick and with tummy cramp. Not very happy at all.

This is a fantastic restaurant with some great menu items. I love sushi and the fact that you get to pick anything off of the conveyor belt is great! The staff always explain to you how to order more food as well (if there is something more specific that you want). I have been quite afew times now and have always been able to go away satisfied with my meal. Will definitely be coming back again soon.

This was a terrible experience. I first went to Yo Sushi in London when they opened in the 90’s. This visit was so far from the original so as not to be the same place Tasteless food, expensive, dirty… so dirty I do not know how they are still open. I emailed their head office and heard nothing back, giving them a chance to explain privately so here goes.

We booked 12 Rainbows and Brownies to attend Sushi School at Yo! at Cribbs Causeway and they had a fantastic time. The sushi-chef-teacher was great with the kids, engaged them really well, and set appropriate challenges for their age and skills. The girls were encouraged to try different things, but different dietary needs were catered for with no fuss. I'd recommend it for other groups wholeheartedly.

Good to see they’ve stopped using the ‘traffic light’ system for delivering food on the belt. It’s much nicer to talk to your server. Ordering via QR code is easy and you no longer have to pay before you get your food which makes you more inclined to tip. Food wasn’t piping hot but not too cool to complain. Unlimited green tea and miso soup is great.

Absolutely shocking experience! We (me and my 10 yo nephew) visited Yo! Sushi on Cribbs Causeway on Friday around 2pm. We were sat very quickly and the lady explained how things work as it was our first time there. Then we were asked to wait for her to bring us chopsticks for good 15 minutes even though the place was not busy at all. When we finally started eating (food was ok, nothing wrong with it altough very expensive for what it was but I am not complaining about this as the prices are cleary shown on the menu) my nephew had asked for a glass as he was thirsty. Guess what? Another 10 minutes of waiting... Shortly after receiving the glass he spilled the water all over the table and himself (kids...) so I asked the waiter for some napkins and general help as all the water was going down on the floor and he couldn't continue eating there. Guess what again? They have never come back to us with any help or even more napkins! So the boy finished eating his sushi standing in the middle of the wet floor in his wet clothes! I was so angry that I did not order anything else apart from the first plate and I requested the bill. While the lady who met us at the entrance was wandering around pretending being busy, another staff member brought the bill but he was clearly not happy with 'the mess we made' (maybe if his colleague reacted to my help request instead of ignoring us...). I paid and stormed out of there as I was extremely angry and hungry. It was the worst customer service experience in my life and I will surely never ever go back there.

My wife and son are sushi enthusiasts, I’m not personally but was pleasantly surprised on how many alternative options there available. I opted for a katsu curry which was very enjoyable. My wife has been trying to persuade me to come for years but we will be back again. My son loved the conveyor belt picking the different colour plates. Staff was friendly but efficient with their service to ensure quick turnaround of tables if/when required.

Alas gone are the days you could hit a buzzer to alert the staff to your queries. Now ‘forced’ to use their app/website to order your food. Which sadly has no search function so it’s a bit of a navigate. But the customer service staff were excellent on my visit and they still offer both unlimited miso soup and stick steamed rice to fill up on which is a nicety I really didn’t expect Yo! to provide. A minor caveat in of course the increased pate prices which seem to have gone up about £2 since my last visit in 2019, plus they seem to have done away with the interesting menu options for bland mediocrity but that sort of the world we live in nowadays. I still think it a decent experience you should at least try once, especially if you ever plan to visit Japan but it’s not the power house it was a decade ago.

Wow this place has gone downhill. Out of 6 overpriced dishes, only 2 were as they should be and edible. Yo Sushi Katsu Chicken a third of its previous size but at this visit this was a relief as it was tasteless, watery rubbish. The radish on top tasted of bleach and the rice inedible. The Korean Fries were returned, to be honest it all should have been. No napkins, no forks, dirty seating and floor, minimal staff who tried to deceive me by not giving me my receipt and still charged me for the Korean Fries even though he said they would be taken off the bill. Won’t be returning

Was told wait was up to an hour, and was turning everyone away despite only a dozen people in restaurant. I waited anyway and was seated in 10 minutes. Was eventually brought a warm can of Coke. No apology or offer of alternative when I complained. Although staff cleared it away it was still on the bill at the end. Not the usual expected Yo! efficient service.

Food was nice but a bit pricey, and I asked for a glass of water and the cup they gave me was dirty, so I asked for another cup and that one was also dirty. Also I think they need to make it more clear on the menu when an item is vegetarian or not, as I ordered a duck dish, not realising it was a vegetarian as it isn't really clear enough on the menu. Was very confused as to why my duck tasted nothing like duck until I reread the menu 😂. Would like to give a special shout out to Luke the waiter though, he seemed like he was the only waiter on shift and he was running around constantly the whole time. Dude needs some backup or a raise.

I had a wonderful time with my new fiance. I was visiting Bristol for the week and decided to go get some sushi at Yo!, the wait wasn't long at all despite how busy it was. I had a ton of delicious dishes and was waited by a lovely staff member with a bandana, a very nice person, Percy I believe was his name, made us feel welcomed. Anything we needed was quickly brought, our water was never too empty and we enjoyed the delicious food!

I'm addicted to sushi so this is probably biased haha...no but in all honesty it was brilliant, food off the belt was 25% off because there is happy half hour from 3-3:30pm...they were kind enough to explain its just as long as you pay in-between this time. Korean fried chicken came out promptly and all in all a really pleasant experience!

Very disappointing. A lot of what we asked for from the menu wasn't available. The food took a while to emerge and it came it in such dribs and drabs I had finished my food before my wife's came out. And the quality of the food didn't match the price charged. I had to ask for glasses for the drinks and ask again when they came back with a straw. To finish off when I was given the bill I was just presented with a total. So I had to ask to see the breakdown to make sure it was right. And noticed the compulsory service charge which was really adding insult to injury at that point. Would I go back? I won't say never, I'll see if they last the rest of the decade though. It'll probably take that long.

I've been going to Yo! for years, but they seem to have lost some of the fun and sparkle. The food was good, tasty, and delivered in a reasonable time considering it was a busy Sunday lunch. If you want food and drink from the menu you now have to order by scanning a QR code on the table and using their mobile website. However, quite a bit of the food and drink from the menu wasn't available. Like quite a lot. Disappointingly so. Another nice touch of Yo! from days gone by was the unlimited still and sparkling water from little taps on the tables. Gone. Push a button to call a staff member to order, or to refill your cup of unlimited green tea or miso soup - accompanied by sound effects and unintelligible Japanese voices? Gone. If you want a refill now you have to physically find someone whilst they're delivering food to other people or clearing tables. The staff, unsurprisingly, aren't paying attention to people eating at tables because 99% of the ordering is now done via the website. They were pleasant enough when we did interact with them though. So really the only fun thing now is the conveyor belt. And even that was pretty sparse. There weren't even any edamame beans going round.

Discrimination. The waiters deliberately ignored us, after half an hour I approached and asked the service. Other customers were served max after 5 minutes. The waiter bringing the drinks didn't say a word. The cooks were nice and the food was good. The restaurant is not friendly to foreigners. I spent 1 hour and 30 minutes in the restaurant. This was the worst restaurant experience ever. I felt ignored. The only plus is a nice cook.

I will start from beginning so I know its Saturday almost 13:00 and it's busy but before we was seated we wait 15min (not that bad) we get to the table and get our menus and start choosing food it's takes us like 7min? we try many times call waiter after 20min of waiting we approached one waiter but he ignore us, he just start cleaning table next to us and go somewhere, so we try to order online but of course page was out of order so we still wait for someone all the time try to approach any waiters, after another 15min finally young waiter come and take our order. Food arrived quite fast from the kitchen . So we finish eating and its bill time ... omg we wait more than 30min to ask someone for our bill and that attitude that we can tip... for what? For waiting so long to take our order or bring drinks? Waiter come to us just 3 times and we was there close to 2hours (once to take order another time to bring all drinks and once with bill) all food comes straight from kitchen, kitchen porter bring food for us ... this was so bad experience.... We will not be back there ...

Tiny portion for the price, the box was 5x4 inches in size and it wasn't even full, it was just over half filled. Absolute rip off - I will be calling the place - it's a shame as the flavour was great. decent amount of salmon but a the amount a veg was more like garnish. I was initially glad I got a side with it as I could fill up more - but the side was over dressed and a tad sweet so I ended barely touching it and instead giving it to my mum

I think this is by far the worst Yo I have been, the service staff we have was really not suitable to be waiting customers, no smile, not attentive, give me a funny look when I asked for proper chopsticks rather than the junior chopsticks. Food was slow even the restaurant wasn't busy, sashimi was pathetically thin. But a good experience at all...

We went to Yo Sushi at Cribbs Causeway Bristol and as usual the standard of the food was superb! This is my most favourite restaurant to eat anywhere. Was particually happy to see more dishes on the belt again! Makes me feel life is back to normal to see this! So nice to see the food in the flesh so to speak before you order again

Showed the seat and tried to order foods on the app but keep cutting off 5 times to restart again. This problems still existed since launch and failed to fix IT issues. I notice a lot of my regular order started faded away no longer japan beer replaced Scottish rice beer with nasty label on, No octopus, no strawberry cheesecake etc When foods arrived doesn’t look appealing more like school dinner than passion cooking joy! Won’t be rushing back again

This was my first time eating at a Yo Sushi, initially everything was good we were picking food off of the conveyer belt but then after around 15 minutes food stopped coming around the conveyer belt with no warning, we waited for around 30 minutes with no food coming around, at this point we asked one of the waitstaff about this and enquired as to whether anymore food was going to come round, he informed up that they were stocking up and more food was going to be coming. We then waited a further 15 minutes, still no food. I wouldn’t have minded this if it was communicated to us as then we could have planned accordingly rather than wasting 45 minutes of my evening waiting around in a hot restaurant. The food that we had was great and the staff were friendly, need to work on communication though.

Really not sure about the new system of ordering and receiving food. One person to show me to a seat and then couldn’t get her attention to ask questions as she was too busy chatting to friends. Ordering onthe app was ok but I like to look through a menu and compare dishes and prices. I liked the ‘traffic light’ system for food arriving. But ….. I had ordered four dishes and only had time to take two from the conveyor before the other two moved off only to keep circulating. Had to get up to speak to the server who told me the belt would stop in front of me again. I’m still waiting. After a good 5/6 mins I just took two dishes from the belt which looked like mine and hoped they were. Tip added automatically at checkout - was the food or service worth a tip. Don’t know yet, they may have got a larger tip if I’d had the choice. Would have ordered more dishes but couldn’t be bothered going back into the app and paying again. Was far better paying for everything at the end.

Yo No Atmosphere by making the restaurant order on app you have taken away the unique vibe that Yo sushi had. I am really disappointed by the changes. All you have done is make people more attracted to there tech.

I visited Yo with my son as its his favourite place to eat at Cribbs after shopping. On this ocassion we were told there would be a wait for rice dishes, which was fine, so we started ordering using the qr system on my phone....

A good concept ruined! What happened to the menu? No green tea, no pickled ginger, no wasabi?! All food now ordered via an app at your seat. Food that did appear on the menu was not always on the ordering app. And man! Sooooo expensive!...

I have went to eat at Yo Sushi Cribbs a couple times as I also work at Cribbs, and the food there is great. It’s quickly served and the staff there are really kind and prompt with the service too. One of the very first thing they asked was if I have allergies, so there is no need to worry about if they will poison you😂. One of my favourite things about going there is talking to Daisy as she tends to serve me a lot and she is very quick with the service. Total recommend !

Manager was really rude to staff members, it was very uncomfortable to watch. The new system is not very good because if you've paid for food on the app and they give it to you on a coloured plate you will be double charged. It was a very chaotic and uncomfortable experience.

Cribbs causeway yo sushi. The blonde and ginger waitresses were lovely and very helpful. However, after ordering we had to ask for our drinks and a dish to be brought to us because they had been forgotten. Whilst eating our food we had to listen to two of the chefs swearing at each other which was unpleasant and considering the extortionate price of the food and service tip on the end of the bill, this was very disappointing to hear. There were multiple families with young children sat next to the kitchen who I’m sure also weren’t happy with this.

First time at Yo! And it was great, the novelty of your food and drink coming on a conveyor belt is great (although slightly frustrating when it not your food that goes past). We had a variety of things including Yo! fries, popcorn shrimp, duck roll, chicken gyoza, Avocado Maki and more. They were all great and came in good time. Can’t wait to come again!

Please stop forcing people to order through an app! Where’s the hospitality gone? Also - on the last two occasions I’ve visited your menu prices have been cheaper than what you actually pay on the app. I still remember the good old days of ordering through a real person or choosing your food from the conveyor belt - why not just go back to this. We’re not in a pandemic anymore!

If a restaurant is open until 7.30pm then orders should be accepted until 7.30pm.. even when I tried to order food at 7pm I was refused. And not once did I go specifically just to order this food. The website should clearly state until what time you can order food.
