This place, always serves up good food and is still the best & consistent curry house in Portishead - had a great curry the other night - day 2 left over curry was even better

Don’t bother … wrong dishes … nearly 2hrs to arrive after numerous calls .. after saying the waiting time was an hour. Go somewhere else.

Seven of us enjoyed a lovely lunch. There’s a great range of menu choices and we were served quickly. Staff were very attentive. The food was lovely. The only thing that worried us was that we were the only customers in the restaurant over the whole lunchtime period and we wondered how they could sustain that. We’ll all happily go back again.

woke up this morning to find 3 of their menus in my path, drive and garden. My neighbours the same, in fact they are all over the town. Willful littering is an offense, please enure they are removed asap.

Me and my husband order 2 curries and Nan bread, first time we ever ordered from here and was pleasantly surprised by the meal we received, the curries were very tasty and flavourful and the Nan was very soft and well cooked, would definitely be back :)

Turned up on time for our booked table, to be greeted with confused faces when we asked to be seated. We waited for 20 minutes to be seated with no apology at all for such awful service. We saw other tables show up claiming they had booked and given tables too small for the numbers they booked for or being told they had to wait for a long time for their table to be ready. It was awful service before we had even been able to order our food! The food was mediocre and over all it was a huge disappointment due to the bad service.

Wide selection on the menu. We opted for a take out. Ordered online and received a discount for collecting. didn't take long to be ready. Flavours were okay, nothing special. Would use this over another Indian I recently tired in the area, although there's plenty of room for improvement.

Best curry with out a doubt in portishead. You can sit in the restaurant or order for pick up! Always order with ghandi. Will highly recommend too! 👍🏻

Went here twice in a week , the first time we didn’t book and was left at the bar for ten mins without a drink and waited for over an hour for food to arrive , the second time and you only got another chance because the food was nice so I booked a table again I ordered food and drinks some of the food never came and took a picture of table before starting , when we got the bill we said we didn’t have this and the tall guy in there wanted to argue until we showed him the picture which shut him up , I will not go here again as the tall guy on both visits seems to have quite an attitude , you will know what I mean when you go,

We’ve eaten at Ghandi Tandoori a couple of times before and it’s been quite nice but this time was unfortunately very disappointing. We ordered a takeaway for collection and came home to find most of the dishes were cold. The hot and spicy chicken wings hardly had any meat on them and definitely wasn’t spicy. The onion bhajis were so crispy and burnt that when I took them out the bag they crumbled. Had a similar consistency to wood chip! The naan bread was so burnt on one side that’s all you could taste and the veg curry in the biryani was swimming in oil. It was completely inedible! Spent £30 and probably only ate about £10’s worth. Will not be eating there again!

Great food from hot to mild curries very reasonable price .Staff are attentive ,but not pushy and the food is always great.

Lamb Tikka ceylon is now my favourite. Had the Patia last week which was gorgeous but tonight's meal was stupendous I didn't leave the pattern on the plate.

I’ve recently started frequenting the Ghandi Tandoori in Portishead.It reminded me of the old days ( I started visiting curry houses in City road Cardiff when I was fifteen and I’m 59 now! ) when having a curry was a laid back experience ,with no rush to “get you in and out!”The staff in the Ghandi are excellent , and once they get to know you will have a chat over and above the norm.They are polite and accommodating, with an approach that makes you feel at home.I’m not sure what position the elder statesman of the business (who relishes bringing your meal on a serving trolley ) holds, but he is a character. Not gushing, but polite and makes sure you are happy with the service.If you like to spend time in between courses having a chat without food arriving like a canteen you will enjoy the Ghandi,laid back , but delivering excellent food with a smile.The delivery service is also excellent with a few “extras” thrown in for goodwill.Overall a great experience if you enjoy not rushing around and want super-quick service. The quality is well worth waiting for!!

Usual used another Indian restaurant in the Town but went to the Ghandi as a couple. Was quiet and a little spartan inside but when the food arrived everything "lit up" l am by no means an expert on Indian cuisine but the tender lamb I had was one of the best I have ever tasted. Subsequently seven of us were wondering where to go and I remembered the meal we had in the Ghandi and we finished up there. Again the quality of the food and the service was as good as any I have had and will visit again soon.

Best keema naan breads we have ever had, the rest was pretty awesome too. The chicken madras has a real kick and the lamb saag is very tasty.

We had to wait 20+ minutes for our meal, but no objection as it was obviously freshly cooked with moist and tender meat and a fresh nan. The atmosphere is fairly stark, but the usual Indian music was not too loud. We shall come again.

We come several times a month as a couple, with friends & family and we've literally never had a bad or even average meal. The food is always fantastic, as are the staff.

Have eaten here numerous times and never had a bad experience. Great service, lovely food and very reasonably priced for food and drinks. 5*****

Totally and Utterly disappointed ! My family and I visited here,the starters were "ok" however the Balti,the Bhuna and the Dansak all tasted the same.The Bhuna sauce was like water. £50 wasted.

Reasonable restaurant in the town centre, so OK for an evening out with a standard menu. Food was fine but nothing special. Decor as a standard local Indian anywhere.

No sólo para la comida, nos viene por la atmósfera de un servicio también. Una la comida es estupenda... Estoy tan feliz de que volvieran a Amrane figuren es un feliz, entusiasta, ingenioso camarero gracioso, él tiene un sentido del humor, gracias a Ralph para llevar de vuelta a él... Mi esposa se dio una feliz ahora ver que la próxima vez para otra sentarse en...

Cuatro de nosotros cenamos aquí un viernes por la noche. Cuando llegamos el restaurante estaba vacío, tan poco ambiente, sin embargo llegamos temprano (6:00) y como la habitación llena el ambiente desarrollado en un agradable "buzz". Los pedidos fueron tomadas para bebidas y poppadums. Estas llegó rápidamente.

No disfrutar dejando un comentario negativo, pero en este caso me siento que debo compartir mi decepción.

Good food, very fast service but needs a better atmosphere with background music, reasonable prices and great for a group night out!

Tenía unos curris de aquí. Tenía un coche que tiene la calidad de picado una baja. Tamaño de manera curry caliente, no es comestible. Pollo Tikka, salty salty salty, incomible. Nunca volveré. No llevaría mucho esfuerzo para hacer esto en un par de días. Personal necesitan hablar inglés mejor por favor.

Mi novia y yo fuimos a la Ghandi los miércoles por la noche. Habíamos estado por unas cervezas previamente y decidido, bastante por un capricho, que nos gustaría un curry. Así, a las 11:00 pm llegamos a la Ghandi restaurante y nos ofrecieron una mesa. Fue excelente. El servicio era rápido, la comida era deliciosa (le recomiendo la Begum Behar, pollo tikka en un cordero picada picante, tomate y salsa de cebolla, precioso) y el servicio cortés y amable. No sé de ningún otro lugar que pudiera alojar en una hora tarde. Se lo recomendaría encarecidamente a cualquiera que disfruta de la comida india.

We went on a Wednesday evening and it was buffet night. The food was good and it was busy. The staff were very courteous and the food came quite quickly. An enjoyable experience.

Worst takeaway ever. Malayan chicken had 6 small pieces of chicken, one piece of onion and 2 rings of tinned pineapple!! Completely bland watery sauce. Husbands tikka delight was slightly better but still bland. Total disappointment and feel we threw away £20!

This restaurant advertises its self on the 'just eat' website as a delivery service that are prepared to deliver to my area but upon delivery that was an hour late, I was also told by a rude delivery driver that they do not deliver to my area. To top it off the food was not what I ordered and was cold. If you don't want to deliver to my area don't advrtise it (false advertisement). im not one to complain usually but it really got on my nerves that they were happy to take my money but reluctant to deliver my order at a reasonable standard.I won't be using this service again.

Relivatively priced.portions could be larger. Staff very friendly and helpful . However the Boostami was not as spices/hot as expected. Somewhat bland. Typical Indian decor and music. Not one to go to before a night on the ale.

A good hot curry, nice friendly staff in clean pleasant surroundings. A wide variety of dishes and specials on offer. Fully licensed, near the centre of town within easy walking distance of hotels etc. I'd come back again.

Shocked how poor it was. No flavour at all. Tough lamb in a chef specialty but disappointing sauce, a very dull daal & really pleasant salty okra. But they can cook a good paratha and that's rare!

El menú es variado y a un precio razonable. La comida es de alta calidad y recién hecho. El restaurante en sí está limpio y bien ventilado. ¿Qué más se puede pedir? Lo recomiendo sin duda alguna.

Consistent, tasty, well spiced food served by people who care. Since the days of the Kashmir the food quality has remained high, never oily, always spot on. Lots of competition in the area all blown out of the water. Buffet night adds to the draw.

Brilliant. Having used another Indian in the area for a while we opted for a change. Not disappointed! Prawn curry- yum. Coconut rice- excellent. Husband had a chicken curry full of fresh chunky chicken breast-yum. We will definitely order again

we are regulars to the Ghandi and ralf and Abdul are always helpful with our orders and dishes ,we mainly go for the banquet night and this is always good value we usually spend around £20 a head with a couple of beers ,

Visited the site on a Friday evening, service was good and food was fresh and original tasting. Starters were good and main courses were really good. Would recommend the restaurant to anyone visiting Portishead.

my food was oily the food was over priced for the quailty and the waiter was rude to my dad . the toilet stank . my family visit bristol to see my sister and stay in the near by travel lodge but will not be returning to this restaurant .

Mis amigos y yo hemos usado la Ghandi desde que abrió sus puertas hace casi 21 años. En todo ese tiempo nunca he tenido una mala comida o un mal servicio. El servicio era un poco lento cuando fui la primera semana de enero porque eran un chef corto. Las bebidas gratuitas ofrecieron entre los primeros y principales campos y postre nuevo antes que más que compensó la demora 30 minutos. Era volver a perfectamente agradable y eficiente de autoservicio habitual cuando visité hoy (15 de enero)

I had not been to this place for over 9 years as the service I experienced back then was poor and have always gone to spicy aroma since then. However did think that this would have changed 9 years later.....how wrong was I!!!!!

Regularly visit this place or get takeaway,consistently good. My only issue is that the mild curries can be a bit sweet, but the veg side dishes are really tasty, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

It's was Saturday night 18th of October me an my two sisters went in for a meal as soon I walked in it was pact the waiter said there's one table left so we got sat down right away. at the back of the restuarant we can see its was pact an short staffed the waiter did say there will be delay for our food so we accepted it an waited the atmosphere was great but shame we sat at the back of the resturant with bunch of pratts all We can hear from them was wheres our food even tho they were in there same time as us around 8 o'clock I could hear them saying all sorts of things like "they better hurry up with my food" they taking the piss" etc etc if they wanted fast food McDonald's is up the road ! even tho they got there drinks before us ! The funny thing was they drank there drinks an hid there drink glasses an bottle an told the manager they didn't get there drink was pathetic made the waiters serve them again ! So we had to wait longer for our drinks after hour they were gone without paying for those drinks or papadoms selfish people there were trying the best with short staffed They had. when are drinks arrived our food arrived 25 mins after the food was amazing I forgot about the time after the food came it was worth it ! will be going back again but on less of a busy day cheers Ghandi
