I picked up a too good to go bag last night and went early to pick my mum up son vegetable gyoza for her birthday as they’re her favourite. I was told that the kitchen was closed (7:23 on a Sunday evening) but was also told the kitchen closes 30 minutes before the closing time. I asked if there was any chance they could quickly be made and the waitress kindly went to check with the kitchen. She came back to me and said the kitchen had turned off the fryers. This was really disappointing, as I said it was my mums birthday and it would’ve been kind of them to turn on one fryer quickly (especially since they had clearly turned them off early) and make them for my mum.

Had bottomless belt previously and left a great and well deserved review. I recently returned however with the new belt rules (60 mins with hot food) as I arrived I waited 20+ mins to be seated even with a booking then after being seated there was nothing left on the belt and no hot food. Words cannot describe how disappointed we were I tried asking the waiter but I did not get a response I had to ask him much later to which he said he would ask so overall I am very disappointed and will not being coming back! I suggest you do the same and try another branch!

Been here before for the bottomless belt and it was great, it was 90 minutes and it was just cold food on the belt but they have changed it for my second time to one hour and hot food included. The booking said arrive 5 minutes early so we did but we didn’t get seated until 16 minutes past our booked time, there was a decent amount of food on the belt but mostly all of the same things and there was no hot food in sight, terrible service we barely got the attention of staff and when we asked about getting some things on the belt like the desserts, hot food, California rolls etc. we was told they’d go ask the kitchen but we never saw any on the belt then we got brought 2x mochi and 2x pancake when there was 5 of us at the table and we all wanted 1 of each. Really disappointed this time because of the waiting, lack of food and hot food on the belt and the service. Probably won’t be coming again because of this

There was quite a long wait for food and not a lot of food on the conveyer other than edamame and peas! When it arrived food was good though. I miss ordering on the app as the food came so much quicker and you didn't have to call staff over. They don't have buttons to call staff anymore so you have to get someone's attention which is hard at the bar as you're not facing anyone. Staff were lovely though and very helpful and friendly!

Amazing service, staff were very polite etc helped us all out. The conveyor belt system was really cool, how it works is you can literally grab anything you want from it, whenever you want. It's pretty amazing and a unique selling point for this restaurant for sure. The food itself was alright, I had the spicy seafood ramen with the sour apple drink, along with the yo fries and the cotton cheesecake. The quality was there, the portion sizes were not. For the price they really need to up the portion sizes cause it's way too much money otherwise. On average you'll be looking at around £25-30 a head, which can get you a seat into many all you can eats. Overall not bad, would like to see the prices come down but other than that, a great restaurant👍🏾

Elżbieta, our waitress, is not only very nice, but also a polyglot. We started in English and ended in Polish and Russian. The food is fresh, but the ramen noodles are hard to eat. Please replace it with something edible. On Thursdays, from what I understand (we were there on Friday) you can eat to your heart's content during certain hours in the afternoon for a certain fixed price.

Until recently we were regulars at the Cheshire Oaks branch but since the removal of the QR code we have been consistently disappointed. The food is fine and very quickly delivered but otherwise the service is exceptionally slow. It's almost impossible to flag down staff and most of the time they look in your general direction and walk away before you can say anything. On occasion we have waited 30+ mins to find someone to pay the bill and then to be asked to pay a service fee feels quite antagonising. We ordered items that did not arrive and some that were wrong. When we checked, the bill had been incorrectly input to begin with. This will be our last visit.

I echo the sentiments of so many others: the server who served us was truly awful. What a shame - we travelled 1.5hrs to visit here and the kids’ first visit to Yo Sushi ever, so we were excited for lunch. First up, the sign at the door instructed us to wait to be seated..so we did.. Turns out this wasn’t even necessary and the staff didn’t understand the purpose or use of the sign they had put in front of the door (so we ended up moving the sign away), so we have been waiting outside for no reason whatsoever. We found the staff member who eventually came to us to be disparaging, unwelcoming and with an attitude problem. Her manner was so poor that my husband just left. She wasn’t British, perhaps Germanic European, so maybe if the cross-cultural differences and need for politeness is too much for her, she’d be better in a non-customer facing role before the branch gets too many low reviews. That being said, I think greeting customers with respect is a universal standard, so it was probably just her as a person rather than the language & culture aspect. So the kids weren’t totally starving, I bought them a quick £3.50 plate, so we could just quickly leave the scenario and the weird atmosphere. During this time, the unkind staff member tried to upsell loads of products, seemingly oblivious to her manner and oblivious to us as people. I have no doubt this was probably not their usual standard on the whole, as a lovely dark-haired member of staff could see what had happened and tried to revive the situation. She was observant and kind, but Unfortunately it was too late by this point and we were all walking out of the door, our total visit lasting about 4 minutes. Sadly won’t be buying Yo Sushi again or driving 1.5hrs out of our way for the visit, not that anyone will care.

Not sure what the recruitment process is for staff here is, but clearly, speed, service and personality isn't considered. Sat waiting to order just out drinks, and there was no sign off life, took a couple of dishes off the side and waited...again, no sign of life, not even a glimmer. Others getting served drinks. I tried to make eye contact as you do, but was as though someone had left a light on and I was looking into an empty room. Gave up and decided to leave. We paid for the 3 dishes we had, and still there was no comprehension of why we were unhappy or leaving. Not even an apology. Safe to say the hamster has well and truly fallen off its wheel. I have to fill in if we dined in, wouldn't call it dining in, not even dining. What did we get, nothing.

We waited outside for about 30 minutes to be seated however assumed it was quite busy so had no issues with this initially. When we were seated the restaurant was in fact very quiet. About 20 minutes after being seated, having had a number of plates from the conveyer belt, we had to approach a member of staff to ask for water and to order from the menu. The food ordered was served quickly however the tap water didn't arrive until we had finished all of our food. We were at the restaurant for approximately 35 minutes and the service wasn't great. The staff were friendly but not very attentive.

Lovely meal, excellent service from Merin and cooked beautifully by the team with excellent accommodation of my dietary requirements. Enjoyed a sharing sushami platter called all salmon love set 18.50 which was super freshly made to order. We had a chicken teriyaki bowl which was sweet and delicious. Massively downhill and way more expensive that it used to be. Used to enjoy Yo Sushi 3-4 years ago but visited today and was massively disappointed. Supermarket sushi is tastier and bigger than what we had and the chicken yakisoba was worse than an instant noodle pot - dry, tasteless chicken and almost no sauce. The prices are not far off double what they used to be - remember Blue Monday? They've also taken away the table tap water and now sell bottled at £2.85 a piece. Rip off! There are much better and cheaper options in Chester and further afield for Sushi/Japanese food.

Went to Yo as they had some lunch offers on, but haven’t been in years due to increasing prices and quality. However for £15 lunch for 1 including drink, it wasn’t bad. I had the firecracker rice (so spicy! 🥵), California hand roll, tempura roll and chilli squid and a drink. Pleasantly surprised for the price, quality was ok. I have to admit, I'm not the biggest fan of sushi, but whilst my family are picking from the parade of fresh dishes, I choose from the Street Food options. The app was out of use, so we had to rely on table service. Unfortunately, the staff spent more time chatting between themselves than attending to their customers, with many tables visibly frustrated with the waiting. Food quality is good, and there was no waiting to enter the restaurant on this visit.

We came here due to limited availability at other restaurants and the fact we had disabled members of our party who couldn't walk much further in search of other food. We were seated within 5 minutes, for a party of 6. However we were put on a 4 person table - clearly the largest table type they have. It was difficult to access the belt, and considering we were at the "back" of the restaurant the choice on there was terrible as we got last pickings. I felt so cramped. The drinks arrived promptly, but the food was very slow. It arrived in bits and pieces - with one of our party finishing their entire meal (the portion sizes are quite small) before another received any food at all! The kitchen staff serve the food so you can't ask for extra cutlery or napkins (which we needed as the table was only set for 4 people). Staff attentiveness was patchy at best. When my main meal finally arrived I had to eat with my body rotated sideways, holding the bowl to my face as there was nowhere for my arms to move (as a plus the bowls are easy to hold with one hand). The food was absolutely delicious however, which made it somewhat worth the wait. This seems like it could be fun for friends in groups of no more than 4 people. For the options at Cheshire Oaks the food is tasty enough to go for a visit.

Waited ages to be seated. Little attention from staff. Filthy/ broken bathrooms. A rubbish dining experience. I think they assume that everyone wants to stare at their screens and order through an app too, so staff aren't actually checking in on anyone (and the style of food usually requires more than one order to be taken). Even took the time to email in, as Yo used to be a favourite of ours, but just got a bog standard automatic response.

Been twice to this place, first time I had a hair on the sushi and the staff thought it was funny and made jokes about it. Second time, done an order and my partners came but they came to tell me that they had no tuna which was my whole order. The staff said will be back in a minute to see if I wanted to reorder anything. Never came back and had to ask the chef behind the belt to shout him to come back. Poor service. As my partner had eaten some of her meal we felt compelled to stay and order something else. Will Go somewhere else the next time I visit Cheshire oaks.

Went here yesterday for a impromptu dinner with my family. We have dined yo! In the past but it's been a while. We had a 6 year old and a 8 month old and the service we received was excellent! All the chefs had smiles on their faces and nobody was waiting for anything. The waitress we had, Shannon, genuinely is a credit to the restaurant! She was all smiles, helpful at every stage, knowledgable and was wonderful with my children which made us feel right at home. Several years ago I was an MOD for a 5* hotel, and if I had still been there, I would have poached her in a heartbeat!😂 Will certainly be returning. Keep up the good work

It's a good yo sushi, you can book a table which is surprising for Cheshire oaks. They have changed it so the belt doesn't stop with a light now and you can just take what you want but also order from the menu if it's not on the belt.

This is a rare occasion but- Wanting a treat for us on a friday night after a hard weeks work—- we ordered some food from the Greenbank balti, as it is local etc…etc.. I really wish to support local business BUT this was a truly low quality meal - not really much to recommend it - low points were boot leather Lamb in a lamb tikka Jali bhutan, which was utterly awful and inedible———but overall the meal was rather mean in portions and lacking in a sense of love. I had chicken tikka which was okay and i would give a 2.5/3 ( as I was hungry) as I would the tarka dhall and cauliflower bhaji. The chicken was warm and not too dried out but as a food lover it lacked flavour and the pathia source was too sweet…. Particularly the lamb tikka was not chilli hot. We love food and would love to support local business’s. …. any ways not a good experience and unless something is radically different we wont be back- Sadly AM

After a long tiring day of train travel and equally tiring walking, we wanted something simple and good, a nice piece of cod perhaps. We found Hoole Fish Bar just down Ermine Street, its presence noted by a very funny fish above the door. Owned by a Chinese couple who’ve toiled here for over 20 years to make a better life for themselves, they were very kind and helpful to us when we ordered. (My wife, originally from British Hong Kong, spoke to the lady as best she could, but they couldn’t understand each other’s dialects…didn’t matter…) It is a counter service take away, it was cold and raining, so we asked if we could stand in a corner and eat. The lady said of course ( although it was a strange request!). She spoke to her husband, and they very graciously invited us into their home to enjoy our well prepared and very generous food in the warmth of their kitchen! We thanked them many times and parted with smiles, handshakes, and traditional bows! The World is really a very small place after all…

This proper pub English pub has always been excellent for ales and service in bar/snug/lounge great environment. They have now enhancef their food offerings with an excellent chef providing a full range of excellent meals at very reasonable prices!
