Appalling attitude from one of the staff this evening. 'Soy sauce sachet isn't free, we are giving only because we want to give' was exactly what I was told! As an Asian who know sushi culture more than that particular non-asian staff, please note that soy sauce and wasabi are part of a sushi meal. If getting some soy sauce would be so tricky I suggest Yo Sushi stop serving sushi altogether. If the area manager is looking at this, please check and educate your staff. N.b incident took place on Monday 28/10/24 around 9-930pm.

I took my tweenage son to this branch of Yo! for his birthday as he loves the place, and so do I. We booked in advance and opted for the bottomless belt option, which is £29.95 for adults and £15.95 for children 12 and under. The bottomless belt was bit just the sushi, it also consisted of some of the hot dishes on the main menu, including the gyoza and the veggie noodles. We stuck with the sushi which, as always, was delicious. We were stuffed full by around 45mins into our hour slot, and there were still plenty of plates on the belt. When we left. When I booked I told them it was my son's birthday and they definitely remembered! They gave him two chocolate mochi with a happy birthday message written on the plate in chocolate sauce. My son really appreciated that. The service here is really good, they constantly check in on you and are very attentive if you need anything at any point of the meal. They are also very clear in telling you what your bill consists of at the end. This is our usual Yo!, and we will definitely be back again. Nice one, guys!

Nice restaurant with rotating sushi conveyor belt all around the restaurant. The staff were really friendly and check on you to make sure everything is okay. I ordered a regular chicken noodle, but portion was a bit small in my opinion but still tasted good. Would recommend.

We had to wait a little bit due to it being busy, probably about 10 minutes on a Sunday afternoon. We were told how it works as it’s been a while since I ate at Yo sushi. After we ordered, it took a while for our drinks to come. Usually you get your drinks first, but my friend’s main dish arrived first. As well we weren’t served any cutlery/small plates before our food arrived. I had to ask for cutlery, and we weren’t given any napkins, so had to ask for napkins. If the cutlery was given to us at the beginning, I would have given a better rating. The staff were nice, but it’s just the lack of making sure everything is set up for our meal was disappointing. Food was nice though so I was happy. Just need better customer service and attentiveness so it would be a better experience.

The food that was ordered was like from kids menu , It was really small and quite expensive. The problem that I had after is that my daughter developed a bad indigestion, with vomiting and diarrhea and really bad cramps after eating there.

We visited on a Thursday for the “bottomless belt”. For £29.95 each, you have the option of eating as many plates as you want from the conveyer belt as you want for 90 minutes from your arrival time. This offer is only valid on Thursdays from 4-8pm. Additional items from the menu will be charged. In terms of the experience, we certainly received value for money based on the amount of dishes that we ate and everything did taste great. The downside however was that there was not much of a variety of dishes to choose from and we found the same dishes were continually being put on the belt. After eating plenty of sushi and sashimi, we were hoping sweet/dessert dishes would start making their rounds on the belt but these were very rare. Plus these items were put on the belt directly where they were being made, meaning they were picked up by other customers way before they reached our table. If you’re looking for some standard cheap and unlimited sushi, I’d give this place a visit.

The place was great. The food was awesome but I just hated how they kind of forced you to put the gratuity tip on they said are you happy and I said well I’m not really happy. I rather just give you coins if I wanted to obviously give you anything but it was just felt very forced. I didn’t like that and I will not be returning. Sadly I just don’t think it’s right having to force customers to give a gratuity tip when it’s a self serve and pretty much we do it all ourselves. The food was great. The prices have gone up as less options and I don’t like how you force people to give good tips. I think that’s completely wrong. I won’t be returning on that reason.

Went here randomly after looking and walking around ground central and settled for yo sushi. Knew what to expect, with an array of sushi rotating dishes and plenty on menu to order Dangerous! As you keep grabbing dishes if not careful and rack and stack up!! Worth it. Service was a bit slow and then got slapped with service charge, but it was ok, as the food is worth it.

Was seated by waiting staff, we waited 25 min for them to come back and ask us for drinks. I also asked for soy sauce with the drinks. Think they only came over because we had stopped eating because we were thirsty and needed sauce to dip our food. Server came back with 4 sachets of soy sauce and told us they were busy. Had to wait again to pay the bill. Food was OK not as much choice as usual.

Had a pre-booked table that was sticky and had clumps of rice on it from previous guests. Whole place seemed disorganised and poorly managed - servers haphazardly going from table to table and had to be signalled to get service. For some, it appeared their shift was a chore to them. All four lunches arrived at different times to one another. These were two kids’ Bento boxes, a poke bowl and a small plate with fries. The poke bowl arrived first - even before drinks had appeared at the table: this had a smaller portion size to other Yo Sushi outlets. The small plate and fries were next: fries were completely cold and the pumpkin katsu soggy and tasteless. A Bento box followed about 5 minutes after and the final one, after prompting, ten minutes after that, after the two adults had finished their food. We had to ask for cutlery and one of the Bento boxes didn’t have the kids’ fork in. Similar to the poke bowl, the Bento boxes were of considerably smaller portion size. We complained when presented with the bill and got the fries taken off. Even with the boxes being free with the half term offer, £25 felt expensive and we all left hungry. Would not recommend this branch at all.

We visited the restaurant this evening for the first time since our daughter has been born. The staff were brilliant. Two of the chefs were so accommodating grabbing us takeaway boxes for her uneaten food. They have nailed the basics. Most people are too quick to moan these days. We had a great time and won’t hesitate to return.

Great place especially if eating on your own Food was good quality… tasty! Service excellent with food coming just a few minutes after placing my order I had chicken Teriaki and gyoza. Sticky rice was good texture and took the sauce superbly. Fresh chillies on top were fresh and spicy nice. Gyoza soy sauce was proper salty in a good way.

Edited 2023. All is now good. Conveyors belts are back. You know what. I used to love Yo. It was fun, quirky with the food flying round on the conveyor belts. There was a good vibe about it. It made going there fun and exciting, it was also something different for my kids. Before I launch into some mental rambling of an old man I have this to say. The staff are always polite, friendly and professional. The food is tasty and fresh. I love it there. Will I go back now though. Probably not and it’s for these reasons. Absolutely stupid ordering system. No human contact after the initial hello sir how are you today. If I want to go to vending machine for hot food I’ll jump on a plane and zip off to Japan for the experience. It is an absolutely horrible experience going there now. Scan a QR code. Scroll through endless dishes that may or may not be available on the day. This makes McDonalds look like a 5 star dining experience. You are under selling your products and more importantly your staff. I understand during covid you had to do this. Though now there is no need for this sort of automation. It’s utterly soulless dining. You even have the cheek to ask for a tip / service charge on the menu. I may be an old man but I actually like speaking to a waiter/tress person and when they give good service. It’s a pleasure to tip them. If I could give 5 stars to your staff I would , the same with the food. Your style of delivery for ordering is the worse ever. I may have well ordered an Uber eats / just eats or whatever else there is out there. Go for yourself. Make sure you have a decent smartphone, a damn good connection and prepare to wade through the nonsensical menu system. Shame on you Yo. Rating is purely for the ordering system. Food and staff spot on.

I love YO! Sushi and I usually get the Pumpkin Katsu Curry. First time I got the smaller plates and just not worth it for the price you pay. Also, the service was really slow. Which I don't mind if it's really busy, but there were only 4-5 other customers. All in all, I would say it's worth just getting a main meal here. No need to pay £4.75 for a small portion of mediocre fries.

The rolls were cold, as if they came from the refrigerator, they were falling apart, which indicates poor quality and not tasty.portions are very small The menu has very beautiful photos, but when the dishes arrive you are disappointed, you see a discrepancy. We didn't get full, we just lost time and £60 for two. The price is not true. I don't recommend it! I regret that I didn’t take a photo of the broken rolls, we were so disappointed.

My boyfriend and I came here last week for the first time and loved it! I much prefer it to the Bullring store - it was quite quiet at the time we were there (around midday on Wednesday), which was particularly surprising as it was around lunchtime and during their 2-for-1 deal for National Curry Week. The staff were great - we were served by the lovely Jack, he was really accommodating and personable when serving us. He found us a great seat overlooking the station, and was speedy with serving as well. As for the food, we both had the chicken katsu - if you haven't tried it, it is SO much better than the Wagamama's katsu curry. The chicken was super tender and the breading was crispy, the curry sauce was really flavourful, and the rice was perfectly cooked. It was well worth the deal price (2 large meals for £12.95), but would have been worth full price as well in my opinion. Can't fault the place. Definitely visit if you haven't already!

The cheaper £2,95 plates were not on the belt for 15 min. We asked the waiter and he then asked for some to be placed on the belt. Unless you want a plate of green beans for £2,95... you have to wait for the cheeper sushi to be placed. They leave loads of the more expensive plates on the belt.

Yo! Does food in such a unique way - it's all fresh and it's open to self serving or ordering through the app. So the conveyor belt carries a lot of general options and you can pick a dish off it - the colour of the dish indicates the price point. I enjoy this as it provides a way for people to eat with their eyes or allows non-verbal or nervous people to eat without needing to interact with others. However, I do think that the containers should say dietarys on the lid so we can know if we are picking up something vegan, vegetarian or "regular" and if it contains an allergen. App wise, I can't fault Yo! Apart from it being a little slow, which can't be helped due to signal. In terms of the taste - everything is tasty because it is fresh but I do wish they'd stop putting onions and/or avocado in every vegan option (I thought this was an unpopular opinion until I spoke to some others who also follow a vegan diet). The atmosphere is nice for those who enjoy a busy evironment but if you, like me get overwhelmed in loud places go on a week day during working hours for an amazing sushi experience - and for fellow vegans they do a plant based menu!

Great place for some sushi with friends/family. I had the opportunity to attend their Sushi School and left knowing how to make sashimi, nagiri, california rolls, and temaki rolls. Our instructor was absolutely fantastic; cheery guy with a great attitude and outlook. I'd absolutely attend again.

Overall the food is very good. It's always fresh and tasty but the portion sizes are small and quite expensive. It's very nice for a special occasion or a light lunch. The restaurant is clean and tidy and the food is easy to order via the QR code. It's well worth a visit if you like Japanese Food but be prepared to be hungry an hour after you eat Also...There is a service charge added to your bill as standard. Although i believe in tipping when service is good i don't think it should be expected.

I couldn't believe it when I taken to the wheelchair accessible seating area! I was apprehensive going in as I'd never been in my wheelchair before but the FOH person was so lovely and helpful. He went above and beyond to make the friend rice dish gluten free for me and it meant so much to feel catered to. I didn't catch his name but he was on shift today (27/07/23 at 4pm) fantastic customer service, can't wait to come back!

Overall very nice dish. All of the food was nice. However for what we got it cost Farr too much for only About 4-5 small sushi dishes off the conveyor belt, two drinks, and one main meal. Both drinks together cost £8 (<— fizzy apple juice) and they added an extra small plate onto the bill. For What should have only really cost us £40 (food standard wise and portions) ended up costing £75. Which is absolutely ridiculous. It was a nice restaurant but I just think it charges too much for what u get.

I called into Yo Sushi for lunch one day, the male staff do seem like they don't really want to be there. The service is fine, quite speedy, but I had to ask for wasabi although I'd ordered it on the app. It didn't come for a while so I had almost finished my sushi. Maybe put the wasabi on the conveyor belt to prevent this from happening. Food was nice, I felt quite relaxed there which was good.

The staff here are perfectly pleasant so this isnt a reflection on them but this place has gone downhill. I used to be a regular but haven't been since before covid. The menu has been chopped in half with a lot of my favourite things gone. They ask you to order using a QR code but the system is clunky and isn't reflective of what is actually in stock. The waitress ended up taking my order from the table but instead of the dishes being sent my way, they were put on the otherwise empty conveyor belt meaning others could take it before it came to me. It was confusing and unclear. The drinks have also shot up in price with a small glass of wine costing the same as a large in similar places. It also seems that they don't have any of their old promotions either where they used to do all you can eat on the cheaper plates. Again, lovely staff and the food was great when I finally got it but I won't be back because of the format and the significantly reduced menu. Such a shame.

First time visiting the other week and it was absolutely Bob on! 💯 recommend anyone that hasn't tried this place and there food to go..lots of variety to choose from even if you are a little picky ! Staff were lovely and the place was clean and vibrant :)

Terrible experience had a table booked for a friends 40th paid £70 deposit, even took a phone call to confirm the week before to confirm we were all coming , arrived at the venue for it to be closed no answer no response no refund and 7 of us stranded in Birmingham after travelling . Very poor service & handling given them a weeks grace hoping for a response and refund but still nothing, we were not the only ones waiting at the venue others were too AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

went here for my birthday meal last night and it was such an amazing place to go, lovely staff very friendly!! food was super tasty, we had loads to eat! we had a groupon deal off a family member for my birthday. we will definitely be back again! the lady who served us went above and behond plus she wore a japanese kimono, i thought that was a lovely look 😄

Gluten free options in Yo sushi have got worse. This cuisine can easily be made gluten free yet instead they have reduced the number to minimal options. Yo sushi - sort it out! To make it worse, having been to other Yo Sushi’s where the managers do try to accommodate, the Yo Selfridges manager was annoyed by my requests and made it harder. Sadly my son loves the Katsu curry so have had to go from time to time. But today will be last visit.
