Nice little restaurant located right next to the bullring. Opted for the eel and chicken teriyaki bento from the lunch menu which also comes with a dessert of your choice. The children's bento box was a big portion and is served on a plane shaped dish. It also comes with a drink and ice cream. The food was good and service was great.

Excellent Japanese food. I would almost go back to Birmingham just to eat here. We came in with a pushchair (pre highchair age) and they weren't sure what to do with us at first which is the only reason I've not given 5 stars on service and atmosphere, there isn't much room in there, having said this that's exactly how I picture a Japanese place so it's a personal thing for having a baby with us. I would like to say counter to this, their kids meals look absolutely amazing and I even ordered a side (prawns) based on what a child near us had. It was a few months back so I can't really remember exactly what we had but I can remember my partner asking me to stop making those noises while I happily ate my food. It was some kind of donburi bowl. He said his ramen could have been spicier but he has dead tastebuds, I thought it was spicy. Our whole table were more than happy with their meals and if I wasn't so full I probably would have asked if I could have it again for takeaway to eat later. Highly recommend.

I would highly recommend a visit to Mount Fuji if you are visiting Birmingham. I had the most delicious ramen bowl. It came with a beautifully delicate broth, not spicy, with two amazing gyoza nestling in amongst the broth and the noodles, and topped by two giant prawns. To drink I had a bottle of the Ramune original flavour lemonade that was as delicately flavoured as the ramen. Absolutely brilliant.

I used to be a regular but inconsistency sometimes puts me off. Melon lemonade is great, food wise I always have the same. Tonkotsu Kyushu ramen with chicken (I ask for it on the side as I prefer crunchy to soggy texture). The half boiled egg is inconsistent which pains me a bit but overall best pork broth I’ve ever tasted. The takoyaki balls are one of the best I’ve tried although the octopus piece could be a bit more generous. Negative side is they close early and my personal meal with starter main and drink reaches almost £25. Still love it tho, just found more budget options that don’t compromise in flavour.

Mount Fuji Sushi offers really great quality sushi and a nice atmosphere. The fresh ingredients and attention to detail make each bite enjoyable. A perfect spot for sushi lovers—highly recommend!

Great Japanese food and drinks excellent service

Out of all the Japanese Restaurant’s I’ve eaten outside of Japan ofcourse, this is on top of the list for me. We worry so much of our daughters (3&6) when we eat out as they are the most picky eaters since they are very particular taste that they swallow like their Dad. When we were here, my wife and I were shocked that they’ve tried almost everything we’ve ordered where normally they only eat something crispy like fried chicken or prawn tempura. This time, we were totally amazed that they have tried everything and that my eldest daughter loved their Ramen Tonkatsu Ramen. The broth was very rich, pure and tasty. A taste I tried finding couldn’t find anywhere else but only here in this amazing shop. The staff are also so great and very accommodating. It’s our first day here in Birmingham and it doesn’t disappoint. We capped our day happy despite our long travels. Very reasonable price for a taste to die for. We are originally from Bury St Edmunds, but we’d definitely come by Mount Fuji Japanese Restaurant again if time permits and I totally recommend this if you are after worth the money with the feels and taste of Japan at the tip of your tongue. This is one of my favourite places to eat. The food is of the highest quality, authentic and so delicious. Staff are professional and friendly. The service is very good. Would highly recommend!

Delicious food and often not as busy as the nearby restaurants around the Bullring. Came here for lunch and was not disappointed. We got both the Raman and bento box to try and loved both. Food came out really quick too so no waiting around.

Lovely little restaurant with fantastic food and friendly staff. This was our second visit here, and it has been a great experience both times.

Heard about this place from a friend of mine. Last time I came to Birmingham, I walked past it, and there was a queue so I knew it would be great. Luckily, when I arrived with my friend, after 2pm, there was room for us but only just! I loved the easy to choose menus, the different types if Japanese Green tea was also a favourite (I had houjicha), and our waitress gave a recommendation to my friend which she absolutely loved. When I return to Birmingham, I will return to Mount Fuji restaurant in the heart ❤️ of Birmingham. That's fo'sure!! Food is always delightful, service is great too. Went in the day after valentine's day and there was little flowers and we got little heart shaped lollipops which was a lovely touch!

For the price ,it is not what I can afford but I wanted to feel a little bit at home that is why I went there,the mitzo soup was good though and I got to speak another language (Japanese)

Excellent food and service A colleague and I were at a meeting that finished early and needed somewhere for lunch, we found this place by looking for nearby restaurants and we weren’t disappointed. They do a lunchtime offer which was very reasonable £13 for a bento box and a dessert and then £2 for a drink (loads of Japanese soft drinks on the list) I had chicken and eel bento box and my colleague had duck Gyoza bento box. Both were excellent with loads of food and we both had Matcha Cake to finish was very light but incredibly tasty. Will definitely return next time I’m in Birmingham

My son ate here and said the food was absolutely deeeeeeelicious ! Would definitely return. Great value (he’s a Uni student so has to watch his Pennie’s) he said he’d definitely return so I can’t wait to try it too !!

The sushi is just incredible, a little extra for the open kitchen where you can see our dishes. Japanese cooks, very good ingredients! More fish than rice and we appreciate it!!!!

This used to my go to for Ramen and sushi rolls. Was disappointed with my latest visit. Ramen felt rushed (lost its depth of flavour) and sushi rolls were over packed with rice and not enough actual filling.

We went with friends who know about Japanese food and they really rated it. Quite a small restaurant with only half a dozen tables and seemingly very authentic as there were lots of actual Japanese eating there. I enjoyed my Ramen and the Bento box was okay. The puddings were on the small size for my tastes but then that's probably why Japanese people aren't overweight. The staff were very nice and the prices are probably reasonable for what you get but I don't have the experience to really say.

Best Japanese food in Birmingham

Wonderful spicy, smokey, flavourful ramen. Cozy atmosphere, very nice service. Some really good options for afternoon tea

The food is absolutely fire, not expecting such high quality Japanese cruise outside from Asia. The sashimi is fresh, soup is boiling hot. I ordered melon soda, that's the bomb, highly recommend if you have not tried Japanese soda before. Price is slightly high but it is worth every penny. Will come again for sure.

I didnt expect I leave this low rating for this restaurant that used to be good. We ordered donkotsu plain and spicy ramen with chicken karaage because pork wad not available. The karaage are burnt which dominates the whole flavor of the ramen so hard to taste the original donknotsu broth and took 40 mins to be served even the burnt karaage. Something was gone wrong today this restaurant hope it will get better.

Really good food. Would highly recommend the takoyaki balls, hoji cha tea latte is also amazing.

Have to say we were disappointed with the food. Particularly the prawn tempura, it came with only 2 pieces of prawn and the rest were just peppers and a piece of pak choy?! We had to double check the dish was correct!! Not worth the money at all! We didn't pay over £6 for tempura peppers!! Spicy ramen could be more spicy. (didn't take photo!) Pork katsu curry was just average, small and flat piece of pork. Unfortunately we wouldn't return again and probably won't recommend it.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to use the word Average 😫 I read the menu with complete enthusiasm, and thought I'd play it safe with a miso soup ( my favourite ) and a bento box 🍱 the soup was VERY good! And nothing wrong with the bento I most definitely ate it, I think I've eaten Japanese food so much that I'm just hard to impress now as other people seem to love it! Lol

The food was very nice and surprisingly good value for money. Would definitely recommend to try. The service was very good and the staff are friendly and made us feel welcome

I’ve been frequenting Birmingham for almost 10 years and yet I’ve somehow never set foot in Mount Fuji until earlier this month. What a crime because the place is lovely!! I came with my boyfriend on a Friday afternoon. It was pretty quiet so we were seated quickly and handed menus. I tried a melon float and my boyfriend had the coke float and both were so good, but the melon float was on another level. We tried a little bit of everything, starting off with eel nigiri, chicken gyoza and karaage. The karaage was my favourite of the three, the chicken was soooo juicy and the lemon garnish was nice and fresh. The eel nigiri isn’t the best I’ve had but it was still tasty. The chicken gyoza was hot and tasty but I wish I’d known the gyoza was deep fried and not steamed, as I much prefer my gyoza the latter. I ordered the shoyu chicken ramen and my boyfriend had the beef udon. My ramen broth was so good and the noodles were delicious with the perfect amount of chew. My only criticism was that the chicken was the same as the one that came with the karaage — meaning it was breaded. I prefer unbreaded chicken breast anyway but the breading obviously went quite soggy in the broth. Overall it was still a stunning dish though, sooo yummy!! My boyfriend still hasn’t stopped taking about the udon he ate here even after a few weeks. I tried some of the beef and it was amazing, and for my boyfriend’s first time trying udon it left a good impression on him! He loved it and had been asking to go back ever since. We finished off with a matcha doriyaki which was perhaps the worst value item at £4.95 for a single pancake. I assume it had just been taken out the freezer—which to be fair I’m used to at most Japanese restaurants—because the middle was still quite frozen. It was still really yummy though I wish there’d been two for the price. Overall great value for money and incredibly tasty food! We ate so much and it only came to about £60 overall which I’d consider fantastic considering how much we ordered. I‘ll definitely be back soon, even if it’s just to shut my boyfriend up haha!!

Haven't been here for a long time. The food was just as good as I recall with a good selection of Japanese food, including sushi and sashimi. I had a bento box and green tea latte.

The food tasted very good, the takoyaki was amazing...so so good. The only thing that was a let down was only giving us two Prawns for the tempura Prawns (£6ish) which they did not specify on the menu and it came with fried Peppers instead, have no idea why. Additionally, they didn't give us the whole egg in our ramens, just half 😅 would have preferred if the spicy ramen was spicier too. However the taste and quality was very good, just little things like this.

Quite simply the best Japanese restaurant in the UK. Amazing traditional food, welcoming to all. Priced well considering the effort and skill required to make it, I never eat anywhere else in Birmingham if I can go here.

The service of this place lets it down a lot. The food is always fresh and cooked to order and tastes exactly like it should and to a higher standard than the average Japanese restaurant. There are never enough front of house staff to keep the operation running smoothly which makes the experience a bit of a let down.

Has to be one of the best sushi and ramen places in Birmingham. We tried the spicy chicken miso ramen, which was absolutely delicious. Our sushi selection was spider roll & spicy tuna roll; thought I preferred the spicy tuna over the spider roll sushi, both were pretty good. We had chicken teriyaki as a side dish too. Too good !

Hidden gem in the centre of Birmingham. Tokyo Raman was the best I’ve had. Sushi was nice and fresh. Karage curry great portion but not so tasty. Overall would recommend

Atmosphere is cosy. Had Miso ramen and I have to say it has to be the best Ramen I have ever had in the West Midlands. Green tea and service was amazing aswell, full meal for 2 people costed 30pound.

Its probably our 5th visit here. Food is really authentic, warm and tasty, friendly prices, smiley serving guys and a very good hygiene. Kitchen is adjacent to the sitting area, so you see how carefully food is cooked. No wonder this restaurant always stays full of customers. We havent had to wait long for a table, however the only downside is the limited space of the restaurant. We will continue to enjoy this place and the japanese cuisine!

The bento boxes are delicious! Little light on the octopus in the takoyaki but the food here is so good. Staff are friendly and courteous, place is wonderfully cozy and it's just an overall lovely experience. Very highly recommend

First time here the waitress was very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was very comfortable and I loved the music that they played as I am an avid anime fan. The food was great in terms of flavor, presentation and portion size. Chicken was juicy and very yummy. Salmon was perfectly cooked.we are definitely coming back... well done keep it up👌👌👌

一個字 伏！我諗住有4.3分點都唔會太差，因為小朋友想食壽司又就腳就去咗，點知賴曬野！點咗四件三文魚壽司竟然有兩件有幾乎5釐米嘅魚骨！一份軟殼蟹壽司，入面d紫菜可能擺得太耐，我仔食咗啃親，因為紫菜咬唔爛！因為大人已經食咗野，得小朋友食，食完我個女夜晚就肚柯，以後都唔會再去。一般都唔會留言講人地唔好，生意難做，但係咁伏真係唔講唔得！😡😡😡

Absolutely fantastic meal - the bento box was glorious, the pumpkin croquettes were delicious and the miso soup was divine. It's hard to explain how good it is - I can only suggest you try it for yourself.

I’ve been going to this restaurant since it opened in the bullring. I’ve moved out of Birmingham, and went back to visit this week after 4 years away, did not disappoint, the food is still delicious, and I thoroughly recommend.

My favorite place to eat in Birmingham. I call it my secret place as I enjoy going there on my own. Their bentos are delicious! Would 100% recommend.

Been there twice. Food is nice but last time we ordered salmon sushi all of us got food poisoning that lasted for a week. The rest of the food is okay but I'd say be careful with the salmon.
