Yellowave Beach Sports Venue and Barefoot Cafe. in Brighton and Hove

We always have a lovely time there with our grandchildren. The sand goes down well and great adult and children's meals. Very friendly staff and good for dairy free too.

We hired the beach house space for a memorial get-together and were really impressed. Beautiful space, delicious food (particularly the quiche!), relaxed and friendly staff. Can definitely recommend.. thanks guys.

Fun place for a pint. Not cheap though

Why do I always seem to get the court closest to the fence!!!! That's three times in a row now, whilst all the 'semi pro's' always seem to get the courts further away! The wind is always chaotic and always spoils our session. And the Yellowave has not done anything to block the wind. Well we won't be returning!

Had a great time doing volleyball for the first time in 20+ years! It was fun to do something different, the coaches were great, and it was in a lovely setting 😁

Courts are really good. None of them are broken and are taken care of well. Although a bit far it is worth the journey and normally lots of spaces to park your car. Will come again.

Brilliant place, super flexible and lovely staff!

This spot is great for a family and friends party! Excellent service, great food and a lovely spot on the beach. The clubhouse does not need to be open to the sports or the cafe, though you are free to use the cafe. If parking is full up in Madiera Drive, there is free parking for 4 hours in the Marina multistorey.

Popped in for a drunk and something too eat. Asked for some bacon for my 2 dachsunds and the staff kindly gave it for free and it was over cooked. Personally, I didn't think so but my pups loved it. Very friendly, relaxing place.

Great set up. Lessons are well run and good value for money! Hope to be back again soon!

Was nice except someone working on a conference call on their laptop. On a day off I dont want to hear someone's work conference call on loud speaker. Reply: I understand the yelloweave staff were brilliant however conference calls should not be on loud speaker and would have been happy if on a headset. I have no issues with people working remotely in cafes however they should use headsets. Perhaps a notice saying headsets must be worn on conference calls would be appropriate and advising remote works to work outside if no headset is in use. You would not be happy with me playing my music on loud speaker in your cafe so what is the difference here

A real community asset. Lovely staff. Babies are well catered for with changing facilities and shaded areas. The sandpit is free and well looked after which makes it a great place for parents to catch up while kids play.

What a bright and cheerful place for a sunny breakfast, lunch or drinks. Lovely vegan options too! I think people forget you can use the cafe... it's not only for volley-balling! On the beach, complete with sand. It's a lovely seaside boost to go there and a wonderful small business to support!

A hive of activity when the weather is good. Lots of beach volleyball, a cafe and an event room. Adequate parking on Madeira Drive (one-way system).

I pop in with the kids in the summer for their oven baked pizza and to let the kids play in the sand. Great outdoor location, nice friendly atmosphere and one day I might even try volleyball.

Really enjoyed our drinks here. It was very busy with families and couples. We spent a good hour watching the beach volleyball. Pizzas and Nachos looked and smelt very nice.

We recently had a company away day at Yellowave and it was fantastic! We had a mini coaching session, followed by a tournament and then a BBQ prepared by Yellowave. Couldn't fault anything! Staff were great and food was delicious! We'll definitely want to come back in the future!

Had a really lovely family lunch here this weekend. Excellent chilli wrap (30 minute wait at a busy time but they did inform us before paying). Lovely, big sandpit for children to play in. Such a lovely venue.

Lovely staff, great fun, good value and were really accommodating of us. They even chilled our crate of beer so we could have cold beers after we left!

Great venue, lovely place for volleyball and relaxing. Nice staff, had a pizza which was a bit soggy on top and not sliced properly so messy and difficult to eat though!

This place is great. Sand sea and beach volleyball….sandpit for the kids to play in too. Nice beer on draft, slightly slow service in kitchen etc but everything we ate was good!

The new manager(Amir) is a delight to work with. As a regular, I have already witnessed so many improvements since the start of his tenure. Unforgettable smile :)

Nice place for a breakfast on sunday morning. Food was alright : great smoothie and wrap but the traditional breakfast a bit disappointing (the beans sauce too sweet and the brown bread from the supermarket).

Had an awesome experience at Yellowave. Staff are all super helpful, good vibes all round. The venue honestly feels like you are on holiday, you can have a game of volleyball then hop over to the cafe for some nachos and a drink to refuel! We came for a client social event and Yellowave is the perfect place for this!

Absolutely hooked, great venue and a great sport. Most of my weeknights and weekends are spent here and the community of Yellowave is really second to none. They run beginner sessions on the weekends and if you’re starting with a group of friends like I did a private group coaching sessions is easily organised and really helps you get into the rules and techniques of volleyball so much quicker. The cafe serves great coffees and cakes, and there’s a big sandpit for kids to play in thats off of the courts, perfect for young families. Easily a 5* venue

This is our “go-to” spot when walking from the marina into Brighton. My 4 year old loves to play in the sandpit (they have lots of buckets and spades available), the coffee and food is good, and it’s a lovely place to sit and chill.

Awesome. Great pizzas and fine facilities to work them off.

Giving it a 5* for atmosphère and it being a fun spot to watch volleyball.

Excellent beachside venue with good cafe and lovely small hall that can be hired.

A good place for volleyball, but it's not well organised, we booked 2 hours and didn't get told we would have to move courts after the 1st hour. So a group tried kicking us off our court and in the confusion, both groups ended up losing about 10 minutes of play. Also, the tables are not sanitised often, they are usually covered in food scraps and drink rings.

Amazing! The coffee has a lot of choices and the prices are good!

Great venue for sandy beach volleyball right at the Brighton seafront! Book in advance as there are only 8 or so courts available and very popular. They also have a decent bar and food service although with the sitting area placed directly next to the playing area you will very often get a ball to the face/pint/burger/back...😅

Hot chocolate was weak and cold, coffees were nice service ok

We came to the café on a warm, sunny day. To order ice cream took 20min. Order in café as loads off due to covid, which is understandable, but to have only 1 till on site to cope with drinks, food, clothing, ice cream, etc. is crazy. You need more service points or cut back on what services you offer

Lovely place for adults and young children. Lots of shade over the outside part of the cafe and over some of the enormous sandpit! Lots of sand toys for the children to use. Adults can sit relaxing in the shade with food and drinks watching the children play in the sand

Great place, had limited menu this time..changing area and rest rooms, ice cream, beers and volleyball. Easy access to the beach

Amazing staff led by Spencer. Nothing was too much trouble such a credit to the area. The drinks and food were quality, better than anywhere else we visited on our holiday and the staff really keep the venue clean and tidy. We cannot wait to return.

One of my preferred beach place in Broghton, Yellowaves is not only good for sporty people, and is definitely less busy and less chaotic than your average cafés on the beach. It serves excellent beers and wonderful snacks (including vegetarian) and a very good pizza.

Great location. You can sit here for hours looking at the sea, volleyball and railway. Nice and clean. Lovely big sandpit for little children. Food and coffee nothing special, but perfectly good and tasty..toasties, brunches etc. Good selection of cakes and baked snacks. Fine for veggies. Coffee good. Really lovely staff and atmosphere. Definitely worth spending a few hours here chilling out rain or shine it's great

Friendly and compassionate besides excellent service are the terms that best describe the staff at yellowwave cafe at Brighton beach! The food was just amazing and the lady who accidentally dropped one of my takeaway boxes took the trouble of making me a sandwich in double quick time, even if it wasn’t her fault. This is a fab place to eat and watch the youngsters hone their beach volleyball skills too! Would recommend this place with 6 stars out of 5 or 11 out of 10(!) if I could! Definitely recommended!

Really nice place. The cafe area is lovely especially inside. Very clean. There is a sandpit for the children to play in, a good size equipped with buckets and spades. Enjoyable experience.

Hire a volleyball pitch with some friends - even though we were terrible it was really fun and pretty good value if there is a few of you.

Friendly staff and excellent venue!

I absolutely love this place! My daughter and I spent most of our summer here with all our friends. There is a sand pit for the kids and food and beverages for breakfast, lunch and snacks. Lovely beach volleyball spaces and a room/studio with huge windows with sea views that can be hired for parties and exercise classes. This place is such a gem. Can't wait for it to reopen after covid. P.s. the staff is lovely too!

Lovely staff and fab food for snacks and lunch. A lot of vegetarian food and some excellent shakes. I imagine it gets very busy in the summer but there is plenty of outside eating.
