Gracias. Lente

Discovered by accident and pleased we did. The food is cooked fresh and was very tasty, especially the sausages. The staff were attentive and the banter between the 3 ladies was comical. Especially liked the names on the staff tee shirts. Did ask The Crazy One if they were true reflection and she stated that they very appropriate. Highly recommended for the food and the staff

The food is cooked to order and very tasty and the sausages are excellent (I understand they are locally produced). But what made this visit today was the two lovely ladies working there. Happy, friendly and good conversation with the customers. Sometimes I have been in and you have to wait as the person serving spends far too long gossiping with the customers instead of serving, however this was not the case today. These two ladies are a definite bonus to the cafe and I will be back when we return in June.

Friendly team that absolutely do their best to give you great food. It’s a cafe, so don’t expect Michelin star stuff, but they have specials such as pulled pork and coleslaw. My bun for my pulled pork burger had freezer burn which was a shame, but it tasted good. Coffee here is great. Important if you’re here on a RYA course because theirs is terrible!

Discovered this cafe while visiting Shamrock Quay. Although extremely busy, there was a very friendly welcome when we walked in by the lady on the till (loved the name on the t-shirt and will now always ask for fully leaded Coke - great saying). The lady cooking the food made a grand job of our hot banquettes, and those sausages are so tasty. Welcoming atmosphere although feel the third lady in the team could do with smiling occasionally. Highly recommended well worth the visit if in the area

Situated in Shamrock Quays this is a little gem of a place. Great food at reasonable prices and a really warm friendly welcome from the staff who are friendly and fun. I use to come here a few years ago and now my boat is berthed back at Shamrock so I have popped in a few times recently. My only criticism would be the hygiene, The staff handling money and then preparing cold foods without washing their hands. Who knows what people have touched before handing cash over and the card machine.

I've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Kelly & Ted, ALWAYS make you feel welcome and they promote good customer service and quality grub. Yes, sometimes, there's a delay but for no other reasons than the food is cooked to order and the place over lunchtime is heaving. That being said, put the good choice of breakfasts and the daily specials to one side (temporarily), ignore, if you can, the freshly made cakes and put on hold your latte, skinny or otherwise and get your laughing gear around any of Kelly's baguettes but more especially her homemade Coronation Chicken.....DEEEELISH!!!

Well what can I say.. Normally this place is great. I always went out of my way to visit the yellow welly for breakfast even though I have many places to go to in Ocean Village. Today I went to the Yellow Welly with my son and a friend for breaky and was met by the most miserable staff hands down. There were 2 members of staff sitting when we walked in doing nothing while a table had dirty plates and cups. 15 minutes in it was getting busier and a customer had to clear it of the table himself. Something they should of done earlier when there was no customers. The young girl that was serving has an nose ring. She was so unfriendly and miserable that she made the whole experience flat. By the time I left I was really irritated by the whole experience. I think that maybe the last £20 I spend in there for a long while. Kelly, you need to look in to this as I am not alone and you will loose some of the regulars that have been loyal to Yellow Welly for May years. PS. The other girl was ok. Get rid of nose ring girl. She should not being working in the service industry. Harsh but true.

This is a great little cafe, food ingredients are wholesome and the barista coffee is good. I have used the Yellow Welly for years now. A couple of summers ago they employed young happy post grads, they were like a gale of fresh air, happy interested chatty and good at their job. BRILLIANT. Now ? there are bored looking hardly a word spoken dull staff, and having read other reviews, there is no need to check which dates they are on, they are there every weekend. PLEASE get some happy young trained people or the trade will dry up. Wetherspoon is £3 for a full breakfast including toast and tea, yours is £7 for the same. This is written after my second visit here in two weeks. The food is good here - good quality sausages, bacon etc. Sadly the food ingredient quality is far from being matched by the staff. Tea and coffee is average despite having all the right kit behind the counter. On both occasions I had a full English - both times well cooked and tasty. But rather slow in coming. The staff give every impression of wishing they were somewhere else. On my second visit I was the first customer of the day and I was not spoken to at all! Not a word. So, good food made with good ingredients but sullen staff that need training or changing. Was it good value - well no. Not really. It's a convenient location but next time I will definitely try to find an alternative.

We've been using The Yellow Welly for a number of years now, certainly since Southampton Football Club's days in League One. Our visits tend to be lunchtime on a Saturday before a game (although this is less reliable thanks to the delights of PL football and PPV TV moving kick-offs) and we have always found the service excellent (and very cheerful), the food very good (and the staff willing to accommodate "non-standard" requests!) and great value. I have also used it for a few casual business one-to-one breakfasts and again found similar standards of service, quality and value despite the early hour! A definite favourite.

The lady's where funny and quite a source of entertainment with lots of banter with what I can only assume are very happy regular customers and newbies like me . The bacon and sausage sandwich I would heartily recommend. There are lost of places that you go and the bacon is so thin and sausages are cheap and nasty. I was staying in Southampton for 2 nights and was really craving a good full vegeterian English breakfast! My wife and I drove up to Halladays and managed to get parking right outside which was a good bonus. We walked inside and were seated straight away which was another bonus because their seating is quite limited. The vegeterian English I ordered was probably the best I've ever had! All the ingredients used were of great quality and the variety of items you are served is incredible as you don't tend to get many when ordering a full vegeterian English! If I ever go back to Southampton, I'll definitely visit here again!

I’m really disappointed. I was all set for a lovely meal. Fully understood that this was a reasonably fine dining experience. The look on the waiters face when we entered the restaurant was not a good start. Just so we are clear we were all smartly dressed and we had our children with us who are actually all comfortable in a nice restaurant but the waiter looked at us like we’d brought in 2 bags of cat poo with us. Outrageous We ordered our food. Among the orders were 1x fillet steak (medium) and 1x minute steak (medium rare) These were both wrong when they arrived. Personally I think if I’m paying £35 for a fillet steak then I expect it to be cooked how I ordered it. They were both sent back They returned: 1x fillet steak now very over (the same steak too!!) 1x minute steak medium rare but unrested so it was bleeding all over the plate. Again, if I’m paying proper money for a steak then I want it done properly. A steak should be properly rested so it has a chance to relax and lose some of the juices that were currently all over the plate. Lazy Anyway. Look, maybe on another night it would have gone better. However the compound attitude of the staff with the less than tip top food means we will NEVER return.
