I have experienced a very bad service. The waitress who was there on the day doesn’t know how to behave with the customers. She was very rude.

I've been to this pub a few times, mainly before and after football and normally the experience has been ok. However today they served quite possibly the most disgusting pint of beer to me I have ever had in my life. Either completely off or possibly on the same line that had a cider on it before. I think the standards from when they first took over have completely gone. For the price they want better off avoided.

Garden was nice and of course there’s trains hurtling past. But without doubt the worst burgers either of us have ever eaten. Sauces in sachets grrr. Perhaps they don’t have a chef on a Saturday?

Best thing about this pub is the garden. The pub itself has been refurbished and the interior looks very corporate and does not feel very comfortable. I had the burger, which was tasty but tiny, certainly a lot less than I expected from 'home cooked' food and very overpriced for just under £12. Not recommended.

Received a flyer through our door recently so we thought we’d check it out. So glad we did. The refurb is lovely, funky, fresh and modern. Wonderful service from start to finish. Lots of personal touches which make your visit really quite special. The food was stunning. Beautifully presented and super tasty, with allot of choice that caters for all palettes. Best of all, the price, wow, very affordable. We will definitely be coming back and making regular visits from now on. Thank you for a lovely experience Junction Inn. We hands down give you a A*****

A very welcoming place and they had clearly spent money on refurbishing it. We went for a Sunday Roast which I was so looking forward to but the chicken was a major let down. How they think it is acceptable to give you about 1/5th of a chicken breast on a bone, which was a disgrace. The server pointed out it was a small roast which I get but compared to the amount of beef my friend had it was just very poor. Absolutely gutted as the food was so tasty but this has put me off the roast.

Forty five minute wait which turned out to be over an hour for a bacon and egg sandwich and a cheese board. The wait turned out to be much longer and the cheese board was pathetic. There was a mountain of greenery with an indiscriminate cheese plonked in it, what we presumed was Stilton and a cheddar but all so cold there was no flavour and the grapes were frozen. There was more rock hard butter than cheese. At £10 per person a total rip off. The bacon and egg sandwich at £5.50 was excellent value but when you ask for no ketchup you don’t expect to find it smothered in the last few bites. As a venue loved it and my other half was very impressed with the beer, but as somewhere to eat certainly not. They need to work on their food offering. Knowing they also have a place in Netley I know where to avoid.

Several attempts have been made at running The Junction since the legendary Dawn left and all have sadly failed. What was needed was a complete rethink and here it is. The pub has clearly been given a massive renovation and is now much more the foody winebar than the backstreet boozer. We visited for Sunday lunch and it was spot on. Friendly helpful staff, good choices, fair pricing, decent beer and a nice looking range of wines. It was a great meal and we'll be back. A couple of points for improvement perhaps? The cheese board is great (and maybe one for an afternoon with wine) but it would be good to get a better knife for slicing the blue cheese! Similarly speaking, the standard spoons dont quite reach the bottom of the Sundae glasses!!

We have been to the Woodies in Netley many times so we’re enthusiastic to try this new location. We only came for a few drinks on a Friday evening but the staff could not do enough from the minute you walked in. They greet you straight away and advise where you can sit. The decor is beautiful and the staff are so friendly. Prices are in line with other businesses and the standard of the drinks is 10/10. Cocktails are presented beautifully and instead of a short of Prosecco with your pornstar martini you actually get a shot of champagne which is such a lovely touch. Being Christmas I ordered a mulled wine which unlike other bars came in a choice of small medium or large presented with an orange & dried cinnamon which again was a lovely touch. The atmosphere was perfect, for a Friday night. Not too loud and boisterous and not too quiet and boring. Excited to return and recommend to all my friends and family! Thank you x

We've dropped in to try Woodies out twice now, once for a Sunday roast, and once for an evening meal together The good stuff: the rennovation inside is great, feels much fresher and more pleasant than it ever was in the past. The food is excellent, the Sunday lunch in particular was really, really good (and having the different size options is a good idea for varying appetites) - thoroughly enjoyed our dining experince both times. Staff and friendly and service fairly quick. Looking forward to seeing how things work in the summer when it's an option to sit outside in that pub garden - the spacious garden at the back was always a selling point of this place back in the day, hopefully they can make it work really well. The only 'even better if' point I'd make is the temperature; it's an older period building which makes the place harder to keep warm I guess, and it can get a bit nippy on the coldest winter days - wrap up warm if visitign in a cold snap (although there is a delightful wood-burner which is great if you can get the table just in front of it - very cosy then!) Overall, really good first impressions and looking forward to trying out other things on the menu

I have lived in Southampton for 11 years and in that time I have eaten at pretty much every pub/bar/restaurant there is here. I don’t know how a city of this size has such mediocre eateries. I live 10 minutes from Woodies so it has become my new local. It is without a doubt the best place to eat in the city. Not too “fancy”, very reasonably priced, the most friendly staff, the most attentive owner, the food is incredible, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and a good selection of drinks. Either they are doing something very right or everywhere else is doing something wrong.

A really outstanding pub experience We visited with a group of friends in busy December. Those who knew this pub in its previous incarnation will remember an old fashioned affair with little to attract the younger crowd apart from the odd quiz. But suddenly life has been breathed into the dry bones and it is truly a hot destination. Food is really tasty - the 3 for 2 smacks is a great idea to accompany drinks on a night out and the burgers were well presented. Top marks though to the special linguine which my wife loved and she said was excellent.A nice meal which felt special to eat. Tables were full for a reason. Staff were lovely and accommodating to our requests when we made changes at short notice in the busiest time of the year. However the USP is the wine. It is a wine bar of course but the choice is excellent and best of all the £17 tasting menu includes a sample of your choice of 3 wines including the most expensive - in other places this would be double or triple the price. This is great value and great wine. All in all a fantastic experience hidden away in a classic pub for those visiting from further afield it is a 3 minute stagger from St.Denys Station. Leave the car at home because the drink is so good you will want more and the food is a perfect accompaniment.

The people there literally gave us the shirts off their backs and regaled us with tales of their lives and shared advice to help us on our journey. We swapped kits, stories, drinks, and laughs. They even taught us some properly colorful language. The next 10 pubs we visited paled in comparison. We can't wait to see the guys when they come see AppFC in North Carolina. It’s sad to see this place put up for sale recently. I visited it once or twice with a friend and liked the traditional style of the place. The way pubs used to be. I fear that we will see more and more pubs disappear due to the lack of people and more prominently the high prices of energy and other costs. There comes a point where it’s just not viable to continue with the business. I wish the patrons well in the future.

Great little pub with lovely beer garden. The guy who runs it cooks the roast himself and its vet nicely done. Kids loved it. Simple pub with no frills but if you want some nice home cooked food with good service and a nice glass of wine while the kids run wild in the garden, you can’t go wrong. It might not have the fancy decor of a chain but it’s a little hidden gem for low key family fun and very good service. Slide and bouncy castle in the garden. Only tip would be to jet wash the bouncy castle for summer and tart up the seating in the garden a little but I’m being picky. We had a great time and will be back.

Poor service. Three staff at the bar. Only one serving. The other two stood talking. When I approached the bar the two who were talking decided that was the time to clear the tables. Had to wait for the one remaining person to serve. This happened twice. It was at this point we decided not to order food. If the service is poor and customers are ignored then everything else fails. Could be helpful to either employ more staff or instruct existing staff to look after customers.

What a nice place to visit in town. Located at heart of the city, this place offers nice options. Attached photos for a reference. The place is convenient but parking is tricky as there is limited space on the road (pay and display) which isn’t cheap. Toilet is in basement so not convenient for WC. Portion sizes were alright according to the place and location. Taste was rather good. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Prices were affordable. Ambiance was good but I think music was a bit loud for me. Overall experience was good and I’d definitely recommend it.

I’m really disappointed. I was all set for a lovely meal. Fully understood that this was a reasonably fine dining experience. The look on the waiters face when we entered the restaurant was not a good start. Just so we are clear we were all smartly dressed and we had our children with us who are actually all comfortable in a nice restaurant but the waiter looked at us like we’d brought in 2 bags of cat poo with us. Outrageous We ordered our food. Among the orders were 1x fillet steak (medium) and 1x minute steak (medium rare) These were both wrong when they arrived. Personally I think if I’m paying £35 for a fillet steak then I expect it to be cooked how I ordered it. They were both sent back They returned: 1x fillet steak now very over (the same steak too!!) 1x minute steak medium rare but unrested so it was bleeding all over the plate. Again, if I’m paying proper money for a steak then I want it done properly. A steak should be properly rested so it has a chance to relax and lose some of the juices that were currently all over the plate. Lazy Anyway. Look, maybe on another night it would have gone better. However the compound attitude of the staff with the less than tip top food means we will NEVER return.
