Great service. Told me they would be five minutes cooking the fish. Had cod and chips twice and it was very good. Parked on the road but there were a few spaces in front of the shop too.

The most delicious fish and chips I have ever tasted in my life. Truly scrumptious and enjoyable. The staff are friendly and efficient and food is ready fast.

Shop has had a complete makeover but the food has not changed, the queues say it all, still probably the best chippy in the area.

My wife and I stopped off for lunch at this fish and chips shop as part of our walk along the coast to Bognor Regis. The welcome we were given by the young couple behind the counter was first class. We ordered two large haddock and one large chips and had to wait about ten minutes. When the food came, the haddock proved to be excellent. The chips were OK but probably not quite as crispy as we would have liked. What was really nice is that we could sit outside (there were two tables and a number of chairs) and take advantage of the autumn sunshine. We were provided with cutlery and napkins and we washed the fare down with a flask of tea that we had brought along with us. Really enjoyable, so it has to be five stars.

Excellent large cod and chips, cooked to order. Staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more efficient. Cod was beautifully crispy, the chips not as crispy as I like but still very tasty. Have to say we couldn’t tell which was the large chips and which was the regular but plenty anyway

Nothing special for price batter on cod had a strange twang maybe because gluten free.6/10 wouldn't recommend . Pricey too

Amazing chips. Just enough crispness and sogginess, perfect. Great value nice sausage and saveloy. But mostly amazing chips. We’ll worth a visit.

We were in the area having travelled down from Yorkshire. Your chippy had fab reviews so we gave it a try. We were not disappointed. The fish was so fresh and tasted of the sea. And the added bonus was seeing the skin on. We don't get that in Yorkshire. Next time we are down south we know where to come.

Amazing fish, fish cake, pie and chips, we travel up from Portsmouth all the time. Staff are always really friendly. I can never decide what to have so have it all :)

Quality of the food is actually great. However "what do you want"? "Put your money on there" Isn't how you greet and talk to customers. Better more polite place not to further or definitely go to The Elmer Pub instead.

It has been a while since having some fish & chips from here but the wait has been worth while. Quick and efficient service from the staff, large portion size and as tasty as ever.

No idea how this place has such good reviews, maybe we just got unlucky on the day we got a takeaway! Both the cod (which was the smallest portion I’ve ever seen) and the chips were greasy and terrible. I would suggest going anywhere else...

Visited most of the chippy’s in the Bognor & Felpham area and have to say this one is the best by far. The portion sizes are huge (which is good!) and the general price is very reasonable. So if wanting Fish&Chips I would definitely recommend.

On our first visit we ordered 2 Cod and Chips, one portion a fair size, the other was half the size. We visited again a fortnight later and this time the Cod could have come from a Supermarket, definitely didn't look like freshly cooked fish...

I have had a takeaway from here before and said never again, however American Express were doing a 'Shop Small' promotion for here, so thought let's give it one more go. Guess what they are having trouble taking American Express cards have I got cash, funny that! We had 2 Regular Cod and compared to the Felpham Chippy they were more like small. Also they put everything into cardboard boxes so a five minute journey home they have sweated and gone soggy, Felpham Chippy use paper so this doesn't happen. Also at £12.80 for 2 regular cod and 1 large chips, a lot more expensive than other nearby establishments! Will definitely not come back!

Olde no more as it has been totally refurbished it looks great, it now has some seating inside, the fish and chips are still as good as ever.

However, we hadn't appreciated from the reviews that this isn't really a restaurant: there is one table and a counter where you can eat, but it's really a takeaway. The food was fine, but we had really wanted a more leisurely sit down fish and chips with a cup of tea etc.

Best fish and chips ever.We had a selection of cod, haddock,with chips and mushy peas.All was cooked fresh and was cooked to perfection for me.i would recommend if you are in the area it's worth a visit .It's a pity they are so far from my home otherwise I would be doing more visits and putting on the pounds . definitely a must to visit

I have yet to find better in the last 15 years. Juicy fish, lovely batter, the best chips.I’m never bothered by waiting a bit at peak times. It is always well worth the wait and you can always order ahead by phone. Friendly staff too.

Well worth a visit - fish cooked to order so there is a small but worthwhile wait. The quality of the fish and batter is exceptional. Pies are made by the butcher next door.

We've had Fish and chips here for the lasst 17 years and its always been top notch. Stuart also owns the butchers next (also excellent) and now makes his own pies and sells them in the chippy. They are delicious. The batter on the fish is second to none, light crispy and not oilly at all. The chips are usual excellent but they have been bitty on a occasion.

We are so lucky to have this place on our doorstep. Recently refurbished it still produces the best Fish and Chips in the Bognor area. The batter is wonderfully light and crispy and the chips brilliant. A must for a Friday.

Service was polite and welcoming. The food was cook-to-order but we still received it quickly. The portion size was hearty and the little seating area outside provided an added bonus. Very good if in the area.

This is a great takeaway that we always make a point of visiting when in the area. Everything is cooked fresh to order and being offered a slice of lemon with order is a nice touch. Batter is nice and crispy and portion sizes are good. Staff really polite to customers and each other. Highly recommend.

Our eldest daughter on a visit home with her partner , and this , as usual, was the first port of call and a giant sausage with chips for her. The rest of us had Stu's renowned fish and chips. Hubby had preordered gluten free.

Fantastic GF fish and chips. Light, crispy Gluten Free batter that my non-gluten requiring husband will happily eat as will my discerning teenaged son (with Coeliac disease). All chips are GF as they are cooked separately. They even offer GF vinegar.

I give the shop 1 star, not because of the food, but the use of polystyrene cups to store the mushy peas and sauces. There are so many environmentally friendly alternatives. They need to stop using polystyrene it’s just so bad for the environment. Please change to something else!

Saw the great reviews for here, and was not disappointed. Weather was a bit variable, but we ate ours by the sea, there are a small number of seats inside and a couple outside though, which is handy. Battered mushrooms were delicious!

Have visited this place every time I've visited Elmer over the past few years. The food is always cooked fresh and the fish is very good quality. My favourite is the scami but the huss is also very good.

Most delicious fish&chips.; Service is very good. Waiting time can be a little protracted because they only cook your fish after you have ordered.

I happily drive past 4 or 5 other fish and chip places to go here. There is no comparison locally. The food is freshly cooked and great quality. Portions are large. The place is very clean and is run with military efficiency. I particularly like the warm welcome to all who walk through the door. If you live within 5 miles of this place, why would you go anywhere else?

Went to get a takeaway for 4 adults and a child. All cooked fresh to order but wasn’t a long time to wait. Batter was really nice and not soggy. Fish was really nice too and fresh tasting. Getting a slice of lemon was a nice added touch to the takeaway. Great portion sizes, really good value for money and helpful cheery staff. I’d certainly recommend you try this if you’re looking for fish and chips.

Consistently good fish coated in the best batter ever! Generous portions always freshly cooked, which means you do have to wait a little while. It's well worth the wait. In addition to this, you are always greeted warmly by the owner and staff. Long may they continue.

Visit the take away every few weeks never had a bad meal. Portion sizes are good fish is always great and the burgers are good too .staff are very friendly and service is fast. Will continue to use and happy to recommend to any and all. Also do a great gluten free batter.

I love coming here and do whenever I’m visiting the local area. The fish cakes are the best I’ve ever had! The curry sauce is on the next level! It’s ligit the best fish and chips on the south coast! I highly recommend :) awesome food, nice location and lovely staff :) I’ll be back soon!

I consider this is the best fish and chip shop for miles around. The batter is amazing, crunchy but not greasy. The fish is wonderful and so fresh and the homemade fish cakes are delicious. My husband cannot eat a large meal and the senior citizens cod and chips available at lunchtimes is perfect for him. We look forward to our weekly Fri/Sat treat here.

Yet another splendid fish and chips yesterday from Ye Olde – the reason I’m doing a review now is because of something exceptional. We’d phoned an order through and went to collect it at the given time. There was a bit of a hold up and this is what was remarkable – they ditched the fish that had been prepared and cooked another three for us so they’d be fresh! Extraordinary. So extraordinary, that when he said that’s what they’d done, I didn’t register what he was saying until later. Absolutely the best fish and chips I’ve had anywhere and the best service anywhere.

Been here often when down this way. Fish is always superb, the place is nice and clean and the service is excellent. My favourite shop is Fishers in Fulham Road, West London and this comes very close. Now that is some complimentt.

We were staying in the local area and wanted to enjoy some fish and chips so I looked on trip advisor for a good fish and chip shop and we headed here. We were not disappointed! Although the queue was out of the door (always a good sign!) the staff were super organised and took customers orders so that the wait was never too long. We both had plaice and chips and if we are ever in the area again we will definitely be back!

Cannot rate this place enough. It's always super busy which shows that it's clearly doing something right. I imagine it's quite stressful on a Saturday night for them, but the staff are always so well mannered, responsive and effective. The food is amazing quality and the service is surprisingly quick for how busy they get. The BEST in Bognor

We visited the Olde Fish & Chippe Shoppe on Friday evening - the queue stretched down the road so we reckoned it must be worth waiting for. What was worth the wait was the fascination of watching them work - the system was incredible taking orders, freshly cooking everything, taking payment and delivering everything out quickly and efficiently. I could have stood there all evening just watching but suddenly my order was ready. Even though they were so busy the staff were still pleasant and smiling, calling out a cheery "bye, have a nice evening" as I left the shop - and this was our first visit, so we are by no means regulars. The portion was good and the price appropriate. The only fault I could find - and the reason it got 4 stars not 5 - was that the fish was a bit dry but with the amount of food they were turning out it must be hard to achieve absolute perfection all the time.

Freshly cooked fish whilst you wait but come on folks how about doing gravy to go with your wonderful pies.

Always busy. Lovely fish and chips but also great pies which are made by the butchers next door. Don't be put off by the queue out the door, they quickly get through the orders with a fine tuned system.

We were a bit confused because we thought it was a restaurant and not just a takeaway. So we sat outside and ate our fish and chips. Good Friday evening service - very quick and efficient. We were entertained just watching how fast the staff were taking the orders and packing everything up! Incredible. Good value hot freshly cooked food.

Having read the review on TripAdvisor I decided to give them a go. Upon entry I was asked what I would like. This is because they cook everything fresh. They were a little busy so must be good. The 2 servers were polite and friendly. After around 5 minutes my dinner was ready.

We have eaten here many times and the food has always been good. We don't like the plastic bags that the chips come in as it makes the chips sweat inside the boxes so we open the bags up as soon as we collect our order.

An excellent fish and chip shop, where it’s cooked fresh upon ordering. No soggy batter on the fish and delicious chips, can’t go wrong here.

We live in the village and are blessed that we have this place. The fish is beautifully cooked every time and the chips just perfect. The mushy peas have improved (more seasoning this time) since we last ordered and do try the tartare sauce they sell there - the best I have tasted. If youlive in Bognor or Littlehampton and think your chippie isngood then try this place - it is brilliant.

Just came back from Padstow, Cornwall. Had Rick’s famous fish and chips. But I must say, didn’t touch on taste compared to Ye Olde. You guys are doing a fab job. Keep up the good work.
