Putting Green cafe in Arun

Located opposite the Castle entrance easy to locate, set in beautiful well maintained garden setting, we enjoyed delicious sandwich and cake then played 18 holes on the putting strips, reasonably priced, great family fun.

A delightful place alongside the putting green. Plenty to chose from with sweets/chocolate, ice creams as well as cake and sandwiches etc.

We used to come here every year for my birthday as I never liked the traditional stuff, will always have great memories of this place and remember the feeling as a kid getting excited to go.

Really nice place. Lovely gardens and a place to chill out. Very friendly staff . My Cappacino was superb and a huge slice of coffee and walnut cake, more for sharing, very tasty and moist. Will definately come back. Great place to re charge

We visited Arundel castle for the tulip festival. We popped into Putting Green Cafe and cannot rate them highly enough. The cafe has outdoor tables which are well spaced apart and have the benefit of being located in the beautifully maintained putting green and gardens. There is lots of choice on the menu including many sandwiches with hot and cold fillings, jacket potatoes and filled baps. We had cumberland sausage baps and they were delicious with plenty of filling. After our castle tour we returned for teas and delicious home made cakes. Again, lots of choice and generous proportions. Delicious and all at a very reasonable price. A friendly, family run cafe that should not be missed!

Great family treat for lunch today. Fish finger sandwich absolutely delicious, tasty sausage rolls and a perfect bacon sandwich, all toasty warm which was just what was needed in the chilly breeze. Great selection of cakes, we tried four and each was yummy. Well worth a visit, especially as you can walk off the grub by playing a round of golf.

Having had a rather unpleasant and rude encounter with the women who owns the cafe by the Riverside, we chose not to give her our custom and wandered a little further along to the cafe at the putting green. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and service. The sandwiches were delicious and came with a salad garnish. We ordered coffee, which could have been a little hotter for my personal liking, but it was very nice. We were able to sit on a picnic bench, on the putting green which was lovely. The ladies have set up an easy to follow Covid friendly one way system. A really sweet setting for a tasty, light cafe lunch with castle views! Best outdoor cafe in Arundel.....even in 2 degrees with a bit of sleet thrown in!!!

Great place with friendly service and amazing cakes ! Especially the vegan Cherry Bakewell and the Coffee and walnut cake Can’t wait for spring !

Tried this place last week, enjoyed the putting and worked up an appetite. We had wholemeal bacon rolls, large and we'll filled £3.50 also had a cream tea £4.50. Overall good service, good food, good value.

What fun we had with the target golf, £1 for 4balls for charity. My friends and I also had a private wager to see who would win amongst us. We even had a Beer and Burger which was great.

Such a lovely place, the staff were so friendly! Visited with friends for lunch, the food was delicious! Plenty of choice and lots of yummy cakes to choose from! Great seating area looking onto the very well maintained gardens. I will definitely be returning

Spent most of the afternoon here last week. Beautiful surroundings with a well kept 18 hole putting green. Was great fun and a lovely relaxed atmosphere.We had lunch in the cafe, which didn’t disappoint. Was very impressed by how clean and tidy the cafe was. We all had a very nice sandwich followed by homemade cake. The prices were reasonable and the portion sizes were very generous. They also had a variety of specials available, which we will be trying next time! We didn’t play but did notice they had tennis courts available too. All in all a great afternoon finished off by a visit to the park which is next door. Highly recommend a visit as a great family day out.

Had a sandwich and a lovely piece of toffee cake. Both were delicious. The premises are lovely and clean and the gardens themselves beautifully maintained. I understand it's run by a family who have the place well organised. The golf is well priced and occupies both adults and children for a good time for those looking for something to do or a little hobbie. Good place to visit for all. Highly recommended!

Lovely little place. We had lunch and whilst I enjoyed my Bacon Brie and Cranberry toastie my husband was a little disappointed with his very small sausage baguette. Our service was good although we were surprised to hear the sarcasm towards another customer when she asked for a menu and was told ' they're here is the sign not big enough'. Shame as its a very tidy place with a beautiful garden.

Thought the putting green deserved a review!Nice location across road from castle entrance.Havent picked up putter for 20 yrs or more.Hit flag on 1st hole so havent lost touch! It was week of Open and did wonder how professionals would cope with these 18 holes! Some were straight drives,some with bends and some with raised turf just before flag!Very enjoyable 45 mins going round in lovely weather.£4 reasonable OAP!Got some practice in as 4 people in front of me so played each hole twice.

A great setting, even have a game of pitch and put golf, good prices and nice cheese scone. Very peaceful, nice surroundings and helpful staff, well worth a visit even if its for a cuppa.

I meet up usually twice a year with two old school friends and the place we always meet at is the Putting Green Cafe in Arundel. A couple of rounds of the putting green separated by a nice lunch and a pot of tea is an ideal way to catch up with friends and put the world to rights. Wouldn't miss it for the world and you don't need to bother about parking as the Railway Station is only a short walk away

Staff are very friendly and the cake is scrumptious; a very decent portion at a reasonable price. Most welcome after a game of pitch n putt.

Great way to spend couple of hours something for all the family. Well kept gardens and a lovely spot for tea and cake or a bite to eat. The staff are all lovely, it’s well worth a visit.

We had a round of putting which was good fun, a lovely cup of tea, sandwiches and cake. The site is very well kept and peaceful with beautiful gardens and a view of the castle. The staff were friendly and helpful and this was a very pleasant place to spend a few hours and good value for money.

Very clean and relaxing. Played tennis with our 12yr olds for an hour for £6 haven’t laughed so much in ages priceless. Cafe is very sweet. Will be going back very soon to play golf on the putting green.

Had a lovely game of putting with my boyfriend , he won. Went into the cafe and enjoyed a lovely ploughman’s lunch , very large, fresh and well presented , my boyfriend had a steak pasty and beans which he enjoyed. As the winner he got pay and luckily they now card payments.

A nice cafe with a great and well kept putting green. Would be handy if they took card payments as I rarely have cash these days, but a good cafe in a lovely town.

Great way to spend an hour in Arundel. Well groomed and looked after garden, the flowers look loved. We had an ice cream from the cafe, sadly the only downside is my friend kicked my butt.

Hello. Had a cake and coffee as break and very comfy. Plenty of seating and although it’s cash only it’s very pleasant. We never played golf this time but have many times. It’s great fun and only putter needed. Everyone who visits Arundel will have at some point been here. Top quality.

We havent been here in a while but decided to take our 4 grandchildren,the man in the kiosk could not of been more helpful with the children helping them get the correct length putter and letting them choose their own colour ball. A very good way to enjoy an afternoon for all ages together

Lunch is good but bit overpriced though. My boys love milk shakes with whipped cream and marshmallow bits on top.

My wife and I walked the dog along the river from the nearby the Mill Road car park and called into the cafe for drinks and a snack. It was a lovely sunny day when we called and so we sat outside in the garden looking out over the putting greens. A cleaner place your not likely to find, especially the outside were the area is cut and brushed and tables clean and in good order, often a negative of outside dinning, not here. Some tables on the lawn some on a paved area. Not a massive menu but plenty of cakes, buns, scones and a gluten free selection. Efficient counter service without being over friendly.

We came here on the weekend for a drink after plying a round of mini golf.

I took my grandchildren into this cafe and to be fair the food looked lovely and was good to eat but I am afraid I find the prices slightly ridiculous. £7.20 for a jacket potato with cheese and beans. I feel that the prices are hiked due to the tourists that like to visit. Personally I would not use this cafe again

Had a lovely experience here with my family today. Putting was great fun and the gardens are spectacular. Finished off with a lovely homemade cream tea, which I can highly recommend. The staff were very friendly and always happy to help. All facilities very clean and tidy.

Miserable staff, very limited drinks and food to offer. Shame as missed an opportunity to be better then they offer. Seasonal to so only open in summer. Manager goes off all winter abroad!

Lovely location and very friendly staff. Ice cream topped off a wonderful round of putting! We were told it closed at 5 but the gardens stay open until 6. Staff were keen to let us know that we were more than welcome to stay until 6 and not to rush.

I've visited the cafe and golf 10-20 times over the last 10 years. never had a bad experience. staff always friendly. putting experience always great too. kids always demand a visit every time we go to arundel

Visited at the weekend to have a game of putting, lovely little course and beautiful garden surroundings. The cafe does light lunches snacks and cake .

Stopped off here for a cuppa and snack.Lovely friendly staff,very reasonable prices,clean toilet facilities 10/10. Will certainly be back again for something bigger to eat.

Called in today for quick drink and scones with my granddaughter. Lovely welcome and food very good. All very clean. Will be back.

Putting and sandwiches and sun - in Arundel - perfect. Went there with a group from work and it has been lovely each time - a fun round of putting with coffee before and luncg after. Great setting in the loveliest town in Sussex.

Pleasant cake and toasted tea cake in great surroundings. Not expensive either. My children loved the pitch and putt while we enjoyed tea and cake in peace!

I have been here a few times to use the putting green, which is great fun for all the family. The cafe has outside seating, as well as inside seating, and toilet use for cafe customers only. The drinks are not too badly priced, but there food is a little expensive.

Nice venue, sat outside after doing the putting green. Enjoyed a cream tea whilst my daughter had an ice cream.

A small cafe but lovely to sit outside in September sunshine. My husband rated his Victoria sandwich very highly.

very nice atmosphere at this very nice cafe nothing is to much trouble we had sausage roll with all the trimmings ,toasted tea cakes,and a pot of tea ,everything was very well presented the food was good to be honest I can't remember what other members of our party had ,delightful grounds including the putting green which was 18 holes ,very serene surroundings very restful .I have been here before about 3 years ago and it didn't disapoint me .we enjoyed our visit and would go again ext time we are in the area

We re visited the Putting Green Café again today and without fail the welcome was as warm as ever. The staff are so friendly, nothing is too much trouble, a bowl of water was instantly bought out for our dog, when it rained during our game of golf, we sort shelter in the café and was given a clean towel to dry us off and we were allowed to take our dog in to the café...something you are not allowed to do in the many other cafes in Arundel. The putting is such great value and the greens etc are so well maintained and all in such a lovely setting. We will definitely be back, hoping next time to sample one of the many delicious looking cakes on offer.

A beautiful setting for a fun game of putting!! We also sampled the cakes in the cafe, a must do if you visit!!

Yo trabajo para la Alzheimer's Society y a menudo visita como un grupo para una bebida y siempre bienvenido. Decidimos durante el clima cálido para tener una sesión poniendo seguido por almuerzo, que reservamos con antelación confirmando los números en el día. Las mujeres preciosas en la cafetería nos preparó un buffet deliciosos que fue disfrutado por todos. Por desgracia, mi foto no carga.

Tres de nosotros nos metimos en té y pasteles. Muy sabroso y pastel de frutas bollo encantador de fruta fresca. Los jardines están muy bien cuidados y una alegría ver. El personal era muy agradable y servicial cuando preguntamos sobre visitar más tarde con un grupo de personas.

If you are in arundel and fancy a cup of tea. Fresh made sandwich or light snack then this is the place the ladies that run it are polite and friendly ,it is about 150 yards past castle entrance on right hand side just past bowling green you walk through a gate and pretty garden to get your cup of tea if it's raining they have tables in side

Brilliant place for all the family! Great putting next to the castle! followed by lovely food in the cafe served by very friendly staff! Needs to be included on any day out in arundel

I went with my partner and some friends for a birthday treat we had a wonderful afternoon putting then went in the cafe for some lunch couldn't fault the place would recommend to anyone

This is a smashing place When the weather is nice what more could you want a game of pitch and putt and then something lovely to eat There is plenty of seating in doors and out Love the pitch and putt very pretty surroundings so well looked after The cafe is absolutely spotless Choice of food good and freshly cooked Staff lovely Definitely some where that we always go back to love it

I took several members from our social club for the blind for tea and cake, everyone enjoyed the afternoon the home made cakes and sandwiches were delightful for those with a bit of energy you could go on the putting green, well worth a visit very pleasant ladies running the cafe hope to return in the future

Went on the putting green after visiting the castle, well laid out and decent putting lengths on greens all good fun and some where else to pass the time and have some fun on a visit to Arundel.

it can get quite busy at times but there is many tables outside ,the staff our very friendly and is very clean,it sits right on the sea front so nice views

A hidden gem.This place is excellent to sit outside and enjoy wonderful food in a beautiful setting.All I had was a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich, it was lovely.This is a great setting for a breakfast snack, lunch or afternoon tea.You can even have a go on the putting green!

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our game of golf and Cream Tea at Mill Road Cafe . Beautiful Gardens. Very Reasonable Golf prices and food is excellent .

My fiancé and I visited the putting green cafe whilst walking into Arundel after visiting the nearby boating lake. The staff in the cafe were really friendly and welcoming and were extremely quick to serve us before we spent a relaxing 45 mins or so on the 18 hole putting green.The putting green was very well maintained and quite challenging in places. This is a traditional putting green so lovers of 'crazy golf' don't expect any obstacles other than mounds and the odd tree root!Will return!

We have visited this putting green for 35 years with just myself and husband,our 3 children and more recently our grand children and they all love it with an ice cream at the end

We visited this café as part of a group of 11 people. The staff were so helpful and the cakes etc were so nice. Very well worth visiting.

Good facility and friendly staff. I live in arundel and when out and about often call in for coffee. Food is also very good for lunches. When I'm with my family we go putting great fun xxx

Arundel is very popular and often crowded on a fine sunny day. The Putting green cafe is set back from Mill road and is just 200 metres from the castle. You can sit and soak up the stunning location with a pot of tea , cakes and an ice cream or two and avoid the crowds within a very peaceful and restful environment.

The putting green is the big draw, and is beautifully landscaped and well kept. Great value and great fun for all ages, and to 'round' it off, a coffee and cake in the 'clubhouse' cafe.

Nice place to rest after a river walk, putting green if the mood takes you followed by :- Decent cup of tea and excellent carrot cake.

Putting Green cafe is a good place to have a light lunch or afternoon tea in an alfresco setting, you can view people putting and it's good for families, used to take the kids here all the time, ice creams, friendly staff and cakes to die for!

I often go to the putting green in Arundel, as it is absolutely beautiful, lovingly tended and great fun. It puts most other putting greens to shame!The cafe by the green is also lovely, with pretty outside tables overlooking the green. It's like turning back the clock. Well worth a visit and thanks to everyone who makes it so delightful.

No need to ramble on. It is really nicely decorated and spaced out. Plenty of options, tastes great. Can people watch for hours if you want. Watch tennis, see the top of the castle. Then when you are done, or before the cafe you can play a round of putting, 18 holes. We do the 18 atleast once a year. Being a keen golfer I never expect the greens to be flat and good condition due to masses of people walking over it playing, yet the condition is great for a bit of fun. Its cheap too- you have to try it even if you hate golf.Best thing- prices are very fair.

You can see the castle peaking over the trees from the cafe and putting green. Nice way to spend an hour so - have a coffee, ice cream or snack and a round of golf on the putting green.

We have visited this cafe in its delightful setting on quite a few occasions and it never disappoints. The ladies that run it are extremely friendly and caring, nothing is too much trouble. Their toasted tea cakes are excellent. Don't miss this cafe by turning the wrong way out of the car park. It is tempting to walk towards the town, turn right instead and walk a little way to the bowls club and it is just past that.

We liked relaxing outside withour meal watching the putting.We liked the excellent menu and the fact that the staff tried hard to please you.

Such a beautiful place! The putting greens are immaculate, the gardens and flowers incredibly well kept. You can see the time and passion put into this business.A lovely cafe (with delicious ice creams!) to relax in after a game, all in the shadow of the castle.Lovely staff, lovely setting. Cafe is in a lovely setting. Visited with friends and I found the food very expensive and some of the staff not that friendly.What I particularly did not like, is they ask you to clear your table, just as in "McDonalds"which is acceptable, but not in this expensive cafe. I do not know of any other cafe that asks you to do that.

Just on the edge of Arundel town, fun to have a game of putting green golf with the kinds and then enjoy a quick snack. Some lovely home-made cakes and prompt service.

Sitting outside looking up at the castle, this is a lovely spot for a cup of tea. The homemade cake although a little pricey was tasty and the tea came with enough water for over 2 cups each. The birds were singing around us, giving an overall ideal setting. Food seemed a bit pricey, but again worth a bit extra for the views. Staff friendly and helpful. There is a pitch and putt attached which looked fun for £3.50.

A little cafe for coffee and cake or sandwiches or even an ice cream on a hot day there is a pitch and putt green there to so why not work up a thirst playing golf or work of that piece of cake after lol

We enjoyed a round of putting on a very well maintained course and admired the beautiful flower gardens. Then we had a very welcome cup of tea and slice of delicious apple pie and ice cream. Not expensive but good and very friendly staff

The Putting Green and it's Cafe are a must if your on a trip to Arundel. Great cafe with excellent freshly made sandwiches and cakes and all this within a superb putting green; don't go to Arundel without popping in to see this place.

set amongst the lovely gardens, looking towards the castle. you will find Mill Road Café and Putting Green. Smashing cakes, sandwiches and snacks. I often have a cheddar ploughmans here the portions are very generous, food is well presented, and the friendly staff are most welcoming.

Lots of choice of snacks, drinks, cakes etc. Nice to go to and lots of space even if they are busy. You can watch everyone putting and its a lovely view while you eat!!

On a warm summers day, take your cream tea and sit at a table outside the cafe. Watch the people playing crazy golf on the little putting green. If you're old enough, it's like a time warp. It's 1935 or in my case, 1955 again. How lovely ! Where did it all go wrong ?

Loved the beautifully kept putting greens - the best I've experienced. This is a very nice way of spending a sunny afternoon.

Food is expensive in Arundel. After walking up to the Swanbourne Lodge café and boat hire, and having seen the cakes and prices, leaving without ordering, we came upon this little café.Good cake portions, not too badly priced, friendly staff, and a nice place to sit and have afternoon tea with a view of the putting greens - afternoon tea in Arundel in a nice location without having to take out a second mortgage and without being made to feel that we were lesser mortals!

Very good value lunch and plenty of it, with the kids after a game of putting. Well presented and good service.

The seating outside, overlooking grass and trees, is in a very pleasant setting. The food is good value for money, the cakes are scrummy.

Wonderful situation, quiet amongst the well kept gardens and minature golf course, not forgetting the special area for birds to feed. We always have a lovely friendly welcome with enjoyable eats and drinks. Thoroughly recommend!

The cafe sits among immaculately maintained gardens and greens, serving top quality food all day through the summer. The owners work hard to keep the grounds in perfect condition and the numerous bird feeders ensure that plenty of birds visit. Home made cakes are perfection. There is inside seating if the weather is less than perfect, and you can work off any excess with a round of mini golf
