Just a drinking pub. There is nothing wrong with that. Staff were friendly and they boast a great beer garden

Do not book to stay here. Check is was terrible. Room was very quaint but dirty. We paid for breakfast didn't get any, everything was locked up. No one answered the pub phone or the emergency contact number.

Nice place for a drink or to see a band play, but not sure about the food as my one meal in hear was not ideal. Plenty of drinks choices and all at reasoable prices for the area. At busy times the service can be a bit slow though. This place can really get an atmosphere when there is a crowd in and a band playing.

What a load of rubbish! Support them all year as much as we can. Then on New year's the proprietors leave half way through the evening and go to a private party leaving the rest of us with a bar that shuts at half past midnight, last orders called at midnight. I certainly won't be going back there!

I visited the George Pub whilst staying nearby at the Travelodge, and I ordered a pint of Guinness. Firstly, the landlady didn't know how to pour a pint of Guinness as she poured it in one go. After getting my pint and sitting down, I noticed the pub being frequented by a few very drunk and aggressive clientele!! I quickly drank my pint and left!!

Went for a quiet drink Bank holiday Monday, place dead...barmaid with attitude told us couldn't be served in a vest, due to health and safety as we had armpit hair! Even though landlady served us the previous day in a vest....said landlady came out guns blazing where we were sat, when we questioned what barmaid had said, she said that wasn't the issue, still didn't get to the bottom of it, and the landlady told us to F**K O*F..! Customer service at its best, NOT....LOL...

We ended up at the Olde George (restaurant section) after finding the pub we were recommended was closed. We figured, since they were so close, they would be on a similar par. Walking in, it felt like we were intruding on the locals (and what appears to be staff) smoking and drinking at the bar. Long story short, we ordered two burgers, my colleague's one arrived with a long hair entangled in the fried onion ring. We cringed, but as we were so hungry, discarded the offending onion ring (and all the onion rings) and tried to enjoy the remainder of the meal. Within a few seconds, I opened up my burger and was treated to a large tangled hair embedded within the melted cheese, with lots of bits stuck all over it. Scrumptious. Upon returning it to the bar - the lady behind the bar expressed her horror, and took it over to the what i would assume was a manager, who simply said, "oh, a hair"…. like it was a normal occurrence. A Refund for the burger only was offered and a weak apology which lacked sincerity. A minute later, 2 men from the bar and what we perceived to be the manager, came and sat outside near us, jokingly looking into their pint glasses for hairs and making a joke of the whole thing. I was not only utterly disgusted by the food, but the service was not much better. Avoid at all costs. Britians worst restaurant? Certainly in my books!

Although we did not have dinner here, there is a very nice selection of craft beers. Worth a little side trip if you're in the area.

We found this place on a walk from our hotel and were happy to have beer and dinner in a small-town place with no other tourists. The prices were reasonable and the food just fine, even seemed house-made. People were friendly, and it was a pleasant place to visit on the transfers of a recent vacation trip.

I ordered aberdeen angus burger that was supposed to come with fried mushrooms , onion rings and a grilled tomatoe, and also onion chutney in the burger. None of this came with my dish. If it was an aberdeen angus burger then I'm the pope. It was of very poor quality. No one asked if the food was ok.

Popped here a few times for lunch when working in the area. The food was always pretty decent, plenty of selection and the shelves were always full

Very mediocre food. Pistachio shake tasted nothing like pistachio and the crepes were not fresh at all.

Customer service in this coffee shop is not great. Started getting coffee here every day for the last six months and has 80% always been an issue with the coffee. Only use this shop because of convenience, as there is no other coffee shop around. I think this shop needs to take lessons from the Polish coffee shop across the road as they are friendly, clean and very sufficient. Returned my latte, as could not taste the caramel and staff made a new one, but took the caramel from the old cup and put it into the new cup!!! This place is a joke and staff need re training! I’ve never seen such incompetency!
