The Red Lion in Slough

It was a nice experience coming to the Red Lion after being on 10 hour flight! Lovely place and people, food nailed it. We had our dog here as well and the staff was super friendly, it even has a dogs menu… we will come back to this pub.

Only just found this pub. Warm welcome and was glad to hear was dog frendly. Was going to drive around the m25 near rush hour and thaught well try and find a nice pub and let the traffic pass. Very happy we stumbeled on this pub. Great price being so close to london and food was on point. Much better that one of the big chains you see at the service stations. Will defo return as inbetween were i live and my family in wales 😁😁😁

A lovely family friendly and dog friendly pub. We booked a group of 17 people with some gluten intolerances and dairy intolerances for Easter Sunday lunch. The food came promptly, everyone had good options to eat and all the staff were helpful friendly and easy going. We were there for much of the afternoon. Loved the garden area and good parking.

Really friendly staff, nice food which was good value for money. A few choices of cask and keg beers. Easy to book on their website and staff were helpful amending it via a phone call too. Decent sized car park well signposted off the road.

Such a welcoming pub, lovely atmosphere, great food and even a doggy menu, sausage or bacon £1, beefburgers £2, rump steak £6.50!! Our little dog had an absolute feast, and all sat by a roaring fire. Pawfect 😊

Had the Hunters Chicken and if I'm honest it was the worst I've ever had. Over cooked and dry.

I love this pub! I’ve been going here for years and the atmosphere is amazing. The team are hilarious and always happy to help. Food is decent, not as much variety as it used to be but still pretty good!!

Amazing staff amazing food and amazing dog food menu and one of the best dog friendly pubs outside London city, fourth time visiting when you have a big dog too. Steak always cooked perfectly compliments to the chef.

This pub is just great, the food is very nice, good value for money, the staff are so nice, great atmosphere and the Landlady Caz is brilliant, very well run pub and ticks all the boxes. Recommend it to anyone.

Me and partner had a lovely dinner here on Saturday. Quick service, great food and in particular Caz provided impeccable service and cant praise her enough. Will be back for sure when in that direction

Heard there was a new menu and I wasn't disappointed. It maybe smaller but the meals are still good and value for money. I would recommend the Chicken schnitzel or beef Bourgeon. As always good service and atmosphere. Like the way staff check back to make sure everything's ok.

Really nice Pub. Came here for a meeting and received warm welcome by staff once walked in. Food was delicious with quick service. I`ve tried one of the new items Chicken Schnitzel - came out quick, crispy from outside and nice and soft inside. Really nice atmosphere around, massive garden area definitely recommend for anyone that is passing by or live close to the Pub. I will definitely come back.

Prima plek om snel even wat te eten, maar niet veel meer dan dat. Vanuit de buitenkant ziet het eruit als alsof het een heel gezellig schattig kleine pub is, maar dat valt wel een beetje tegen. de kokkin zat hangend over tafeltje te wachten. Barmedewerker was wel aardig. Ik had een Pie besteld en die was prima, Een magere zesje. Zelfs als Nederlander maak ik ze beter. Zou hier niet terugkomen

Waited a long time for food There were 2 size options for children’s meals , So I Ordered the bigger children’s meal for my son , it came out out wiv the same amount 4x nuggets as the smaller meal? When questioned waiter he said I was paying more for Katsu sauce , but meal is same size . Why advertise to different sizes then?? Was choose carrots and cucumber sticks with it , only came out wiv carrot sticks . My daughter ordered and paid extra for cheese in her adult chicken burger meal , it was forgotten, so had to ask for it . My beef and ale pie had 1 piece of meat in it , and came out with chips and one overcooked stem of broccoli as the veg? My partners Turkey was overcooked and the caluliflower cheese looked so dried up , couldn’t be eaten . Then my son ordered a kids Curros wiv chocolate sauce , was still frozen inside , just awful and could not be eaten . 7 of us and not one of us enjoyed our meal. By this time we couldn’t wait to leave , A waste of £90 !😢 I hope someone makes contact with me ,so we are compensated for this meal , as such a shame as the pub is such a pretty building . The manger responded quickly to this review , and was very helpful in sorting the problems out . Also issuing us wiv a meal voucher, to apologise for the upset caused . Thank you very much 😊

Friendly staff, great range of beers and a amazing Sunday roast

We popped in for lunch, first time here, great beer choice and the food was excellent.

Old pub that dates from the 1500’s but modernised in parts. The food was okay but wouldn’t rave about it. The meat was dry and the gravy was thick and gloopy.

Had a lovely lunch , staff very friendly and felt really welcome , highly recommend

Popped in on a chance and had a 2x pie dinners for under £15... great quality pie for any price so a great find. Staff were very pleasant

It was a last-minute stop off before going to the airport, arrived at the Red Lion only to be told they had run out of roast. It was very disappointing as that was the main reason we went there. They also only had pineapple juice and no other juices. The food and service were ok, although not presented to a high standard. The burger 🍔 didn't taste as nice as I expected. They put the cod on top of the chips and bread on top of the cod, which didn't really make sense. It would have been nice to receive a plate for the teabags. They ended up on the table. Overall, it was just ok. My brother enjoyed the salmon. They have a really nice beer garden. It's a shame the weather was not that great to sit outside.

Great customer service great food very friendly staff especially Asher who made the visit extra special after us celebrating our sons 2nd birthday. Definitely recommend and will come back for many more lunches and dinner. AMAZJNG

Good enjoyable water hole. You will find besides the local crowd also the walk in crowd, which only happens when the place is friendly and enjoyable. Worth a visit

Sunday Roast RIDICULOUS, only 1 tiny slice of beef almost invisible and all frozen veg,if they really want to save money is better they don't serve any food at all.

Visited yesterday and the service was exquisite, I only went in for drinks but didn’t expect the atmosphere to be electric. It’s nice to see a pub do a quiz night. I want to say thank you to the staff and especially Callum who served me as he was very helpful and knew what he was doing.

Visited today after a google search looking for a pub near Salt Hill park and man where we impressed!! The welcome was warm, the food delicious and the atmosphere superb. The selection on both the normal and kids menus was fab, my eldest opted for steak and ribs and you never get this on a kids menu! I had the special hunters chicken and it’s definitely worth the money. The staff where great, very friendly and helpful, quick to check everything was ok. We didn’t have a dog but was lovely to see it’s dog friendly and they provide water and poo bags!

Went to the restaurant for a quick bit, and had the soup it was very tasty and a nice steak. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

Had a lovely bit of lunch with my partner. The BBQ beef burger was amazing and my partner had the southern fried chicken sandwich and he really enjoyed it. The staff were lovely and friendly and helpful and it is a dog friendly pub which is great for us 😀 definitely recommend 👍

The Red Lion came up trump's. We had a funeral at Slough crematorium and regathered at The Red Lion. Ordered of the menu for about 12 people and everything came out piping hot in good time. Well done The Red Lion 👍

Popped in the other day and was astonished at how friendly the management and staff were! Nice pub with plenty of outdoor space in the garden too. How come it took me so long to find it ? I only live A mile away. 🤷‍♂️

Food average. Drinks a bit pricey and atmosphere OK. A fairly average place but the garden is great hence a 3 star rating.

Easy access. Large carpark. Sun umbrellas are not staked so be careful of sudden gusts lifting them. Food is average and reasonable portion size.

It was an experience I rather forget! I ordered chickpea and sweet potato curry. I tried the chutney and poppadom which tasted off. The rice and the curry also tasted old. All probably been in the freezer past it use by date. I did not eat my meal - the manager's response was appalling. I did not get a refund because we had two mains on a lunch time deal - which they offer! I had to pay for more food.

Really bad food, drinks and service ok, all food over cooked and fried, did mention this and told this is how fried food is!!!!!! No standard of cooking such a shame wasted £50.

I ordered some nachos . After 45 minutes I went to the bar to ask what's the hold up? When it came it was cold and i believe it was ready way before but forgotten in the kitchen. Needless to say I returned it and asked for refund. Having said that the bar staff were very apologetic and said they would inform the chef.

Friendly atmosphere; decent food.

They were short staffed so we were told we'd have to wait for an hour for any food. But staffed were really helpful and welcoming so we were OK with waiting. Food was like warm when it came out 😒

The place was full of cobwebs it hasn't been cleared for a while.to slow with meal took a long time to clear the plates, for got the coffee.

Hadn't been to this pub in a while but it definitely has got better since I last visited. Quiz night Wednesdays are a great added bonus to. Also if your hungry they have a great menu to eat from. 😋

Awful food. Chips were rubbish and the customer service even worse. Just a pub with food. Caroline has since contacted me and we visited again this wek. Much improved and the meal was very nice. Thank you Caroline for your prompt attention!
