Stayed in the hotel for one night while walking the Cotswold Way. Rooms and Hotel very tired and in need of refurbishment. Bathroom dated with mould and dank smell, shower ran at a trickle with lukewarm water at best. Beds and bedding tired and old. Overall the room was shabby. We were asked what time we wanted breakfast, and agreed on 8am. We came down for breakfast at 8am to find no-one around. Eventually we found the cleaner who contacted the manager. Ultimately no-one around to provide breakfast so we were given a refund of £7.50 each. Overall for £99 per night excluding breakfast it wasn't a pleasant experience. We'll not be staying there again and would recommend anyone to stay elsewhere in Dursley

This is quite possibly the worst "hotel" I have ever stayed in whilst walking the Cotswold Way. Find somewhere else, if you can. The bar and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful, it's the owner/manager at fault.

This was probably the worse experience of B&B in a hotel I have ever had. The whole place is really ‘seedy’ and not very clean. Everything is in desperate need of updating and cleaning. The large breakfast was greasy and not very appetising. Do not be tempted to stay here.

This so called "hotel" is a dump.It has had no money spent on it for years. There are holes in the roof of the passageways.Electric sockets loose. There was no hot water on the first day. When we left at 8am on the second day, there was nobody to let us out.We had to leave via the fire escape! Avoid at all costs

We telephoned the Hotel at 11pm after being on the motorway for several hours due to accidents on the M5 and arrived there at 12.45pm. The staff came outside to help us with our bags as we had a toddler and baby with us and were exhausted. We cannot thank the owner and the staff enough for all their help and for making us so welcome.

Very very run down hotel. Was shown shared shower room as bathroom in room water took ages to come through. How right was they. Ridiculous. I cried when I saw room, but couldn’t get any other accomodation. Luckily the bedding was clean and bathroom although very dated was clean. The ladies were very pleasant. But sorry never again.

Friendly staff, good evening meal and a ‘proper pub’ for a few pints. But the bedrooms are very run down and not cleaned properly. You can’t use the showers unless you like cold (we had 3 rooms all with the same issue). The owner pretended to be surprised and said he’d get a plumber in, but I see people have been complaining about that for several years. Breakfast is basic ‘greasy spoon’ standard, served by a nice friendly chap.

Blink and you might miss it as you pass by. But worth hunting it down. Beware- the website linked to it is the wrong one. Lots to choose from on the menu. Very generous portions. Some interesting Greek dishes as well as more traditional fare. Staff very friendly. Amazing chips!! And a lengthy drinks menu which I wish I had more time to explore. What’s not to like?

You need to look past the shabbiness. This is a fascinating old coaching inn and there is a pleasant beer garden if you walk far enough. The quality of the food is outstanding - even ordinary sounding choices such as liver and bacon or the all-day breakfast become rather special and they certainly won't break the bank. The staff are cheerful and helpful. Places like this are becoming increasingly rare -they need or support. Give it a try!

We booked a table outside for 6 people for breakfast to celebrate a birthday. We sat outside in the beer garden at the back. The staff were so very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing- 5 full breakfast and 1 veggie breakfast - everything was tasty and hot. Such fantastic value for money! They even arranged the sunshine ☀️ 😊 Thank you - a great start to a Birthday 🥳 x

Very polite and friendly staff, a limited but well chosen menu. All the food was very tasty and reasonably priced, especially good value during the eat out to help out scheme. I would recommend this restaurant, it also has a lovely beer garden and the building itself is interesting as its very old.

I had some friends visit from Northern England and wanted to take them somewhere with character and down to earth well cooked pub grub, and as always the Bell provided both. Even better, it provided it at amazingly reasonable prices. No fancy cuisine, just well cooked honest food at great prices with well looked after beer, service was 2nd to none, staff were attentive and asked if a refil was needed as soon as a glass was empty, and were polite and friendly. The bar is wonderfully quirky and full of character, and a really laid back and chilled place to spend a few hours with friends. Gloucestershire as it should be.

I can’t speak highly enough about the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel it self. The rooms are small and tiered. Our first room no hot water and tv didn’t work We moved room. The hot water was mixed warm and then hot. Tv worked. Bed broken so mattress dropped down at foot of bed. It was hot so window open lots of noise from the courtyard but didn’t go on all night. Sadly the same cannot be said for the air con unit which was outside our window. That was going for a while and kicked in early in the morning like 5 am. Cooked breakfast was literally ready to eat at 9am when we arrived in the dining room no time for cereal etc. Lovely coffee. And the breakfast was nice. Owner friendly. No time to have allergies either it was plated and ready to go. The staff were excellent so friendly and helpful. We didn’t eat or drink in the pub except breakfast.

Hotel is dated and in need of some care. The room was small with only warm water. I was told to go to the shared bathroom since it was closer to the boiler and had hot water. The price was very reasonable and the staff pleasant.

A lovely old building, but it needs updating and lots of TLC. It’s also not very clean, our room was quite small and the cleaner missed out on emptying a couple of drawers that were full of rubbish. The tv,also needing dusting. The staff were very nice and made us feel very welcome and we’re very accommodating. The food was fresh and plenty of it.

Always our first choice if we want to pop in somewhere for simple but perfectly cooked pub grub. Vegetables and salads are always fresh and food is tasty hot and filling. Friendly staff and good beer, with a cheap bill at the end. It's a quirky rustic old hotel, ideal choice for hungry walkers

This hotel serves and amazing Sunday lunch. All fresh vegetables and thickly cut tender meat. Individual gravy boats are supplied so you can have lashings of tasty gravy. We were advised to go for the small, which arrived on a huge oval plate and I couldn’t eat it all. Heaven knows how big the large is! All this for just £4.90. Great value. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Can thoroughly recommend.

After looking around Dursley on a cold Sunday afternoon we ended up in hereCertainly rustic, but loved it. We walked in and the locals turned to see who came in and what a friendly bunch, regulars and staff all said hello and many were happy to chat away. The roaring fire in the bar was well appreciated as was the well stocked bar. Even though we didn’t eat, the menu was very good price and everyone eating looked to be enjoying their meals

The place looks a bit rustic and unkempt on the outside, but the bar is quite nice as was the bartender. We both ordered chicken specials – garlic and herb chicken, and cranberry chicken – the portions were quite large and the meal was well cooked and fulfilling. Prices were more than reasonable and were probably the cheapest on our whole trip. Great value.

Unfortunately I have reported this branch of Coffee #1 to the local council’s food hygiene department as I have witnessed a staff member putting a plastic packet of frozen fruit to her mouth, using her teeth to open the packet, and pouring fruit from the saliva-covered packet into a blender to make a smoothie for a paying customer. Revolting.

The front of house staff were not welcoming at all and under no uncertain terms, we were told we hadn't booked. We sat in the bar area and I have to say , I think the main Manager was very moody. There was no feedback on is your meal OK, etc, or any social interaction from staff. The majority of staff looked like they did not want to be there. I do think this is a pub for regulars and because we were staying at a local hotel with different accents , were treated differently indeed. However the food was great but were very very disappointed by the Customer service provided. We would never return again as the atmosphere was very unwelcoming.
