Some great offers and meal choices, we came in today for some light lunch, served promptly by a gentleman (assuming the manager) very polite and funny. Made to feel welcome and relaxed. It was very busy we waited no longer than 15 minutes for our food and it came out hot 🔥 and tasty! This place I cannot recommend enough! I thoroughly enjoyed our visit! Lamb shank was tasty and my partner said his risotto was very good.

Don't recommend after waiting 1.5 hrs for food I ordered I asked the question of how much longer is the wait to get told a while as we only got one chef in.still waiting to watch two other parties that came in after me to have there food brought out to them I asked again to finally received my food to find half of the food was missing when asked where the remainder of food was to get told sorry didn't have any,requested compensation on the missing to get told sorry I can't do that so I requested a full refund that I received and I told the waitress that I thank the pub for ruining my wife's birthday celebrations to not get an apology my wife and I will never step in the place again

Excellent service, atmosphere and friendly staff. Such a cosy welcoming pub that is dog friendly and perfect for family and friends. The food is absolutely delicious. I wish I hadnt already had a few bites before deciding I needed to take a snap and do a review... but honestly, now my fav go-to pub in Gloucester. Clearly already a popular destination from how busy it is when I come.

Was crazy busy when I attended and the staff weren't very nice to be honest. I wouldn't go here again.

Such a lovely pub, great wholesome food and the friendliest staff, overall an excellent atmosphere. But the game changer for me is how dog friendly it is, so nice and welcoming with dog treats available and water bowls readily on hand. Feel like the pooches get their social fix whilst you do. A*

The front of house staff were not welcoming at all and under no uncertain terms, we were told we hadn't booked. We sat in the bar area and I have to say , I think the main Manager was very moody. There was no feedback on is your meal OK, etc, or any social interaction from staff. The majority of staff looked like they did not want to be there. I do think this is a pub for regulars and because we were staying at a local hotel with different accents , were treated differently indeed. However the food was great but were very very disappointed by the Customer service provided. We would never return again as the atmosphere was very unwelcoming.

Visited for early evening food. Probably a good pub just for drinks. We did eat as been out all day, okay but typical of Greene King local, basic menu/food, mainly ordered/delivered in set pre-made portions, from same suppliers as they all are, cannot really add more. Might return for drinks as seemed friendly service. Only other thing is we found too bright inside, restaurant area included, so not best ambience when eating.

Great food, had Chicken Katsu curry which was delicious. The chicken was really succulent. I had the squid to start and that was excellent. I don’t usually have a dessert but it was carrot cake - couldn’t resist. It was served with ice cream and was perfect! The service was brilliant and Cassie and Ellie were lovely and made us feel very welcome - Friendly without being too familiar.

Staff were so welcoming and helpful. Kieran was a great host and a fount of knowledge and a truly great person who helped us so much with our stay locally.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Service was very good and food lovely. There was a great choice on the menu. We can recommend the sundaes. We liked the fact there was enough space between the tables as it didnt feel cramped at all. We will definately visit again.

The garlic bread and lasagne were microwaved prior to being served causing dry brittle cheese. The garlic bread was also powdery from being microwaved. The salad garnish was dry on the ends again from being i a microwave prior to being served.My wife's steak was over cooked and dry the merlot /dripping sauce was more "bisto" merlot gravy. The glass of malbec and the cup of tea were the best part of our meals. We had blue light discount which lessened the blow. The receipt was already printed when we went to pay, wouldn't go here again.

New to the area and originally booked another venue but left disappointed and came to the kings head Gloucester and what a fantastic time!! Great food, great drinks reasonable prices and live music!! Thanks will defo make this our local xx

Service is always fantastic. Would highly recommend the Butcher's Platter on the specials board. Amazing value for money and everything on the plate titilated my taste buds. We often come in for the baked camembert, which is equally delicious. Keep up the good work, guys.

The lasagne and garlic bread I ordered had been microwaved, it was greasy, the cheese was dry and brittle on the top and the pasta had dried out on the bottom and stuck to the dish. The steak my wife had was over cooked , the cup of tea I had was the best part of my meal. The glass of Malbec was the best bit of my wife's meal. Used to be good placw but gone gone down hill. Some people need to learn manners. As described before, dark haired lady that walks around thinking she owns the place. Needs to learn some manners. It was cold in the pub didn't feel there was any heating on .The food wasn't very special chips weren't very hot and the gammon was very dry .probably won't go again.

Had a lovely evening meal here with family. The choice was good, the food was good, the service was good too. Can't say anything negative about our experience. It is a pub so serves pub type meals, but the food was good. Not high end dining hence the 4star rating but would definitely recommend a visit.

One of the best family friendly pub in Gloucester. Spacious parking is available. Staff are polite and friendly. Weekend need advance seat reservations. Lunch and dinner awesome variety of food options available. Calm.and cool atmosphere. Food was so delicious. Recommend this pub to visit with friends and family members.

While staying at a local hotel near Upton St Leonard’s we visited The King’s Head on 3 separate occasions and consistently found the service to be quick, friendly and helpful. One of our party is gluten-intolerant and she found the Non-Gluten Containing Ingredient Menu very helpful. We would recommend to customers wanting a relaxed friendly pub meal experience.
