Great night after a meal with friends. Everything was spot on and Georgina made sure we were well looked after.

Big pub from the Yates' chain, but awful service and just not a nice place at all, certainly wouldn't bother if yer in a hurry !!

Recently moved to york, and found this beautiful riverside pub. Since then i have Been here more than couple of times. Max always looked after us. He’s a real gem for the place.

Lovely bar maid Maisie served a brilliant pint with a lovely smile, would 100% recommend to friends and loved ones

Beth in York saw to our every need bless her I have nerve damage in my hands from chemo so I have to drink through a straw when we ordered two more drinks she remembered and brought another straw with my drink she always has a smile on her face she is little ray of sunshine

Had a lovely pint served by a lovely young lass , I believe her name was Maisie , poured a great pint of Moretti , definitely would recommend to my friends and family 👍

When going for a night out Yates is the place to be. The people that are there are really lovely, the bartender that my mates and I had was Megan and she was amazing, very helpful and got the drinks out quickly and was fun to be around when there. Would totally recommend for a good place to stop on a night out when in York.

Came in for a pub lunch and had a lovely afternoon. We were served by Katie who was very helpful recommending food and drinks for us to try!

Wouldn't even serve me a fried egg as they couldn't say it was gluten free. No sausage, no replacements, just no. The worse mixed grill I've had in my life. 0 out of 10, wouldn't recommend

We came only to have a drink whilst waiting for a full day's car service. Nice and clean pub, doesn't have much view but still very nice place to drink and relax.

Worst food and service. They can’t handle busy hours. Unprofessional attitude. Never order from Uber eats or deliveroo - they are K-Town Chicken (Korean Fried Chicken) in Uber eats. It takes ages to get the food always problem!!!

Brilliant service and drinks with friends, doorman DJ went above and beyond and brought some flip flops after my Mrs was told she couldn't dance bare footed after her shoes were hurting. Absolute quality 👍🏾

What a star have had great service everytimme nothing is to much trouble. Has a great smile would do anything for you. IT HA s always been a pleasure to be a customer in this establishment. Love been a customer and being and served promptly KAtie IS A CREDIT. She would light up. Any bar or room she walked into. The management should be so proud of her. Visit here often on evenings out and during the day for food! All the staff are lovely, especially Megan who is always so polite whenever I see her. She always makes sure I’m comfortable, and that I’ve got everything I need.Thankyou!

I popped into Yates with some friends whilst on a short break in York. It had a nice atmosphere, Brilliant selection of drinks and good choice of food. I was served by a pleasant, well presented young lady called Maizy, she was friendly, professional and enthusiastic about her work - a smile goes a long way! In addition to this, her knowledge of drinks was pretty impressive, so tried her recommendation, a Sex Bomb! For a mature lady in her 50’s this was a first .. but wow, she was spot on! Based on my experience, I would recommend this bar to people of all ages.

We came in a few weeks ago with some friends, food was lovely and bar/ restaurant was very clean. Big shout out to the girl who served us on the bar Maizy she was so hospitable and we kept her on her toes with all our drink orders but she made them all perfect and all tasted Amazing !! Will Deffinelty return on my next trip to York !

Been in here a few times and never had bad service. Food is pretty good for the price as well. Been served by the same person when I've been in a girl called Megan, she's fabulous, fantastic service always happy and chatty. She's a credit to the bar!

The bottomless brunch was very good value for money and were checked on by the staff very frequently. All in all very good.

Brilliant experience, amazing service from the bartender Max would be back again

Food tasted like it had been fried in a deep fat fryer that hadnt been cleaned for a few months. Some of it was inedible. We ordered on The app and it took over half an hour before our drinks arrived, by which time we had nearly finished what we could eat of the food. On the plus side my partner said it was a decent pint of Guiness. The music was so loud we couldn’t hear each other, this was a Saturday lunchtime and wouldn’t expect it to be quite so noisy.

Great spot to go for the football and then after at 8pm on a wensday pints are £1.50 and it's night life just takes off good spot 👌

Do you ever think about your neighbours and the noise levels , no obviously as you would learn that midnight and karaoke is not a good mix

We just popped in for a quiet afternoon coffee and ended up having a few gin and tonics and cider. Has a great assortment of events on their agenda and of course the obligatory TV, showing all sports, every direction you look.

Good place for hang out with mates, it's a pub, you can find Casino for Casino lovers,drinks, you need to walk in. Difficult for car parking.

Went in on Bank Holiday Sunday, fantastic atmosphere with a DJ on and screens showing all the football, will definitely be back. Rhys was fantastic and recommended us the Long Island iced teas (brilliant). Highly recommend!

Came in to watch football, it wasn’t showing but Max went above and beyond to get it on for us. Made my other half happy. Even without the sound. Thank you. ☺️

Lovely staff, quick and hot food, and free wifi that allowed me to munch and do some schoolwork for my resits. Generally easier to find a corner to hunker down in for a couple hours than in a coffee shop. Never thought a pub could make a good study spot, but Yates is it.

Worst fish and chips ever after making my order it seemed to take for ever considering the pub was empty when I got my order I had to go back to the bar they forgot my bread the chips was ok the fish was awful all batter barely any fish and it was grey not white so it was a poor selection. The bread was not fresh. very disappointed definitely will not return

Just now, I had a morning cup of Americano, only for £2.29, a very nice price for York. I could work on my computer as they have open wifi at the amazing yard of this establishment. I didn't order any food, so I don't know about that. But I really had a quiet and comfortable experience. They even kindly told me when they were going to make some noise pouring some glass in their bins! The couple negative points were the dirty tables and, sadly, that they don't have any vegetable milk (I'm lactose intolerant). But everything else was very good!
