Was recommended to visit whilst in another pub in leigh glad I called in very clean and tidy and talkative staff will be back again when in the area

Called in today for a late lunch not been in yates to eat for years and we will definitely start going more often when in town the food was great value and really tasty i was so pleasantly surprised , plenty of tables and the staff were lovely and friendly telling us when our food would be coming and bringing drinks over was a really pleasant experience , tvs all over with the football on , clean and well presented 2 meals and 2 pints for £21 definitely cant grumble at that.

I just want to start by saying your staff are very polite and well mannered but I want to point out kauren who went above and beyond for us making sure we was happy and she was so polite.

Went out for drinks with friends and really enjoyed it! Lauren was brill and helped me with everything I needed, will definitely be coming again!

We fell upon the pub by accident, and decided to have a look inside. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of if first off, so decided to stay. We had a few drinks and ordered some food, which I must add was spot on ! The manager (Jack) served us at the bar, and was so polite and attentive. We aren’t local to the area so may not be back for a while, but we will definitely call in again. 100% great service, & that’s hard to find sometimes . We’d highly recommend a visit .

Glad we wandered into this pub. Ran by probably the hardest working man I've seen. Jack had time for a natter despite him being the only worker on show. Jack was behind the bar and serving food, He had time to explain the Mix app and told us all the places we can use it. The place is very clean and the food was great. I thought it was run by identical twins at one point. Keep up the good work Jack.

Lovely food that was reasonably priced. The member of bar staff jack couldnt help us enough, bringing out garlic mayo, which isn't available usually and swapping my ice cream for custard after my friend ordered it with our desert by accident. Would highly recommend dining here :)

exalent whent to weatherspoons first. menu was ok cost was over the top 3 small plates £15 for 3 plates shares. so onto yates where we go to watch football and play pool had lunch ther 7 plates shares £19 win win staff always friendly

Me and my 7 year old son came in for lunch. We had an amazing time with the best service. I had massive compliments to Ash & Liam for the food and my son loved it. Chloe really helped us feel welcome, served us with a smile and gave a 10/10 experience. My son left saying he was very happy and loved Chloe.

Terrible experience second visit both times,I had my meal half an hour before my diabetic husbands. Jack the first time,apologetic and charming Chloe the second time...useless...should not be a manager at all...

what a lovely experience we had, came in with a few friends for some food and drinks, the food was superb, Jack the new manager was so lovely to speak to and nothing was too much trouble, we will definitely be visiting on a regular basis now. thank you! ☺️

Met up with some friends for a bit to eat, was looked after by Amy and Chloe on shift, the new manager has really started to sort this place out and they now sell Neck oil Craft, Will come back in the new year.

Couldn't find staff for 15mins but eventually Manager came out to the bar and was so polite and helpful. Manager was wonderful thank you

Come here on several occasions with my nephew I've had the grill and curry plus triple chicken burger meals any normal kid o would have a kids meal but not my nephew he has the triple chicken burger meal followed buy the large ice cream in the glass definitely worth visiting

went in today, there where 7 in our party today went in for a catch up and had food whilst there , wasnt going in for food to be honest but table next to ours had food and it looked delicious ,,so a few of us ordered ...very quick service and food was great , the girl serving was great ,we ordered on app and they brought drinks straight over . there were 2 people serving think ours was called Gemma or Emma tall girl with long red hair ..asked us if everything was ok ,how food was etc ..cleared plates away and asked if we wanted sweet we declined rather have a drink haha..nice place to go with friends reasonable prices too thanks ...will be back

lovely warm and friendly atmosphere , went in for lunch with family members whilst out shopping today ..staff told us to sit anywhere we wanted , we sat near windows , we ordered food and drinks at the bar the lady who served us was very friendly , her name was Emma same as my daughters who with us , she offered to carry drinks to our table ..didnt have to wait long for our food ..which was lovely and hot .. will defo return

Popped in with the family for food and a few drinks. There are some good deals on beers and spirits. Ordered steaks and sides, all cooked very nicely and seasoned well, food arrived hot. Staff were chatty and welcoming. Would happily recommend.

I went into Yates tonight, with my ID (I AM 18) and my friend didn’t have her ID as she left it in the previous bar. She went to get it and me and my friend went to order a drink. We both had ID and he said he can’t serve us until our friend came back with ID. We tried to order a drink and he said no. My friend told him that we both had ID and he still continued not to serve us. We are LEGALLY allowed to have drinks and work in this industry ourselves and completely understand the law. It’s my friends 18th birthday and this guy didn’t let us buy drinks. You ruined our night. Sorry but this is not okay.

Rubbish. Tried to pay using Mastercard and member of staff said they don't accept it. They checked with Manager who confirmed they don't accept Mastercard. I can understand Amex not being accepted but Mastercard?!?! Food was overcooked and dry. Will not be returning even though...

called in today with my 2 teenage sons after seeing the sandwich and a soft drink for £3.95 offer.The pub itself appeared clean ,tables a bit sticky but considering that this is a proper cheap boozer in the middle of Bolton I was impressed.We ordered the drinks and food and it was bought to the table by a pleasant ,well dressed and polite waiter.The quality of the food surpassed my expectations.The best club sandwich I have had in a long time.The 3 of us fed and watered for less than £14 .We will return again the next time we are in Dibnah land...cheers

A works christmas do and the group of us ordered off the set menu. We booked a table for 2.30pm and ask for the food to be served at 3pm. We got our first course an hour and a half later with a 30 minute gap between the first and last person being served main course! Tomato soup was a basic salty marinara sauce, 'rump steak' was tough, veg was overcooked and some people ordered chips but got potatoes. Profiteroles had some strange coating on them and the homemade stuffing was horrific! We were a big group which I know is tough to cater for but we would rather them say they couldn't accommodate us than struggle catering for 15+. Especially considering there were only 2 other small tables eating at the same time. Most of the 'bubbly' was wasted. It was baaaad! We seemed to be an inconvenience for the staff behind the bar. No service with a smile! The waiting staff were friendly though and did try their best. As the title suggests, we didn't have high hopes considering the price but didn't expect it to be that bad. Wed have rather paid a extra for a bit more quality and better service.

Stopped for a drink, ordered a G&T; and a pint. Bafstaff came over holding the gin glass with her fingers inside the glass..... disgusting. Used the toilet facilties, unfortunately someone used the sink as a toilet roll depository. Never again.

Bolton Yates has fantastic staff and a great atmosphere. Outstanding service. Would highly recommend it. Food was great too. In the heart of the town centre, couldn't ask for more.

Called in Yates to have a few drinks on our round town outing. Food looked so good we decided to have Tea. I had Lasagne with sweet potato fries totally beautiful it also came with a beautiful salad and two pieces of garlic bread. Service and staff was great .

Went last Sunday for xmas lunch there were 30 in the group, we all had the xmas lunch menu, Pate, xmas dinner, various desserts or cheese and biscuits, it was really good, good helpings and very tasty, Buck’s Fizz crackers and sweets on table, service was good, the waitresses worked hard all for £11 what value

My wife and I called in here for a Sunday roast whilst passing in Bolton. Cannot complain about the food it was very tasty and of a good standard. Value for money, price includes a free drink.

A mainstay of the town centre bar scene ever since I came of age to drink some 40 odd years ago, I have witnessed many changes in my thousands of visits here. In my opinion it is the best it's ever been after a recent upgrade. Drinks and food are very reasonably priced and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.

Me and the hubby went into Yates in Bolton yesterday for something to eat, we wanted to check out the refurbishment which on first look was quite impressive. The hubby went to bar and ordered 2 Deli sandwich meals with 2 large diet cokes. This was ordered at 11:43am so we sat at one of the booths having our drink and chatting away and usually once food is ordered one of the waiters/bar staff come over and place some condiments and cutlery on the table, but when this didn't happen i didn't think much of it because i assumed they changed the way they did things. It got to 12:30pm some 47 minutes later and the pub was not busy at all and i believe no food was ordered so assumed the kitchen staff weren't so busy.

Was out drinking and needed food as been busy and not had time so ordered fish and chips with my first drink the food took a short while but I like that means that its not being rushed and when it came was cooked spot on lovely and fresh very big fish batter was great chips where also good set me up for the day definitely go again.

Iv been in this pub many times just for a drink but i saw the daily special and orded two chillis but it was cold and very poor quality and extra small portion it looks like i will be eating back at wetherspoons

Busy and good priced beers. Overall good atmosphere and good choice. Food although did not have was cheap and plenty of people eating. Always pop in for one on travels.

The toilets are disgusting and in very poor cleanliness and order. This whole pub needs a good scrub from top to bottom. Would never order food here based on the cleanliness of the public areas.

Standard Bolton Town Boozer. Cheap pints means its a good start up point for a drinking session but bare in mind you have to peel your feet off the floor. After you have managed that you may have to also peel off some unsavoury 'ladies' that look as if they may be residents there as you can guarantee no matter what time of day you visit they'll be loitering.

They've done it! Wow! Yates Bolton has managed to provide the worst rump steak I've ever had!!Loads of fat, no flavour, and like a mouthful of grease, I had to leave the rest of the meal because it turned my stomach.I've complained to Yates on Twitter.I feel like I need to rinse my mouth out.This comes after I ordered the gammon but was later told they were sold out, so quickly changed to rump steak.The venue itself is scruffy, with burnt out lights, and the worst toilets I've experienced in Bolton!I give it 1 star because the girl who served me was friendly and efficient.Ugh I need to go and find somewhere to get a cup of tea or something!

Popped in for lunch and a drink after a morning shopping.First thing that hits you is the smell which had more than a hint of public lavatory about it.Tried to order two mocktails on the two for one offer but we were told they weren't in the offer. Pointed out that according to the menu they were, and that the ones that were excluded were specifically labeled as such. Tough luck, we were wrong apparently. While we were waiting for our food we took in the sights; the sticky floors, drink splashed walls and wobbly and tatty furniture. The over-loud music competed with the screaming toddlers who had the run of the bar while their parents drank and played pool.A waitress came up and grunted at us. Apparently she wanted to take away the menu for the 'all day' breakfast menu. No thank you when I passed it to her, she just wandered off Our food arrived just as we are starting to wonder where it was. It took about 25 minutes which isn't ages but long enough given what we ordered and that the place was fairly empty. The GrilledHalloumi Flatbread turned out to be a cold wrap covered in brown limp salad and four small slices of halloumi fried to a crisp. No sign of the coleslaw the menu promised.Not wanting to wait another 25 minutes we just ate up and left.Lesson learned, we won't be back.

Got to love Yates, Bolton.The cheapest Yates around :)The music is always good, the atmosphere is good and it's a huge place to socialise and meet up with people.Can always have a good night in Yates.
